On episode 92, I wish I could listen to the criticism quietly but the sheer amount unables me to sit in silence.

While the turns were a bit long, it definitely didn't drag like people on reddit (and some on tumblr how sad) were raving about. I feel they needed a non-recorded mock game to step back into the technicalities as to decrease the need to describe mechanics and lessen hesitation.

But even then let's cut them some slack, they haven't visited these characters in what two years? And from a TWO-shot! Some of them haven't been in a proper game in a while. Not only a recap was needed, and A chose to do it while in combat, they also needed time to get into the groove of their characters on an emotional level.

And unlike the live one-shots CR does where they can jump into old characters after years with certain ease, CK PCs played a small number of hours as these characters, they need wiggle room to adapt into the mindset.

And I won't even talk about the things they kept saying about how Aabria treated Aimee because it was born from seeded bitterness and hatred they refuse to reflect on. Paired with infantilizing these adult women who are very capable of talking to each other.

Also if one hasn't seen ExU Prime, they wouldn't understand their dynamic. I, on the other hand, understand it on a spiritual level and it changed me forever.

The timing in the campaign is beyond my judgement for a myriad of reasons, but the main ones are my player/people and plot preferences.

I won't say everyone should love ExU Prime or the CK, or that they're a bad person for it. Fair game, I don't love everything they've put out. But it's incredibly unnecessary to make it personal and attack them and spew (or rather reveal) bigoted hate left and right because of a DnD actual play.

there's something really bizarre about what may or may not be excessive wariness of adultifying black girls that's resulted in not only treating hazel like some moronish baby but sweeping oversimplification of the person that she is. by refusing to observe hazel in a more mature light (and by this I only mean taking her seriously) there's a pervasive dumbing down of her character in the fandom that really does not occur as much for other characters. she's 14 in hoo. not 13. she's 15 in toa. for comparison the second youngest member of the prophecy 7 is jason, who was 15 himself for the first half of hoo and does not experience nearly as much character infantilization by the fandom at large

as a hazel enjoyer it's all pretty disappointing; I see so much to appreciate and unpack in the frankly gothic nature of her story but when I go looking for hazel fanworks (not just fanfics but fanart, headcanons, hazel ships, textposts to reblog, etc) I can't help but sense an unwillingness to just THINK about how her experiences might impact her. there's little more regard for hazel in the fandom than her merely being nico's cute and sweet little sister. and she is cute and she is sweet that much is true. she also grew up during jim crow while black and was violently bullied and killed herself and her mother when she was 13 years old. genuinely I don't understand reading horrific parts of her story like this and thinking that she's just a cute and soft tweenaged girl and not much else

like let's just be candid about this - abused and neglected children are forced to grow up fast (something that will almost inevitably have consequences in their adulthood). they are forced to be mature in ways that other kids aren't. hazel is not written like a "normal" 14 year old in part because she is not a normal 14 year old. you don't spend your life consciously wasting away in asphodel surrounded by ghosts and rejoin the living as a normal teenager. she was mistreated her entire life by everyone but sammy and then she died. and upon her resurrection the nature of her quest is more horrific than anyone else's - she has to "redeem" herself for helping gaea+giving her mom asphodel in the eyes of the underworld judges by killing herself again. that's literally what going on the son of neptune quest is for hazel; freeing thanatos = he takes her back to the underworld. there could not be a more literal confrontation of her discordant mortality than this. the only reason her life doesn't end that way is because of pluto's leniency towards his own children, and the narrative does nothing to justify something so objectively unjustifiable. even positing this as pluto's self-redemption of his failure to protect her in her first life, rather than hazel's own self-redemption, would have been something but hoo simply doesn't resolve this glaring conflict about its messagings on the unchangeable nature of life/death. but that's a post for another day

I cannot emphasize enough that hazel is every bit as deep and angsty as popular SadBoy™ characters like nico and leo but the interest in her sorrow and complexities is simply not there. this is not an insult to nico/leo themselves but a notation of how SadGirls™ (especially black girls) will never receive comparable acknowledgment of their miseries or the way said miseries have impacted them. hazel is deeply contemplative and world-weary and struggles so much with alienation from the world around her - alienation from the modern world as a person of color from the segregated past, alienation from the living as an undead girl, alienation towards her own powers because they ruin lives, including her own. if you just observe her character and her story I think you'll find more meaning about how life is a thing to be cherished than anywhere else in the franchise

OK so.

This isnt ShadowArcher, or anything much. HOWEVER!!! I want yall to hear me out ok??

This is not only me coming out as a Stardust Fan (fucking love space boys who are confused with their identity and tryed to kts) but as a proposal...

Ever since Firespirit came out to CRK Firewind has been taking the world my storm. Before he came into CRK the biggest ship that included wind archer (exclusively in the crk fandom since firewind was popular all the way back in 2019) was Starwind (stardust x Wind archer). So obviously (and thank the god/s for this) what did it turn into when these two clashed? Poly; Starwindfire.

Now this is great actually. I was a Starwindfire sipper before Firespirit came to Crk because of the singular fic of them on ao3.

However when it comes to most things, there is a focus' on one aspect of this relationship. Wind Archer, since he was in both ships, so obviously he will get more attention that way (even if its just say gex jokes for the most part on tt). On the other hand I don't see ANY content of Star and Fire together and it really makes me sad.

I LOOVEEE their dynamic so much. It gave me such Scott Pilgrim and Remona Flowers type of dynamic (I made an entire AU for that specific comparison). So i want them to be a little bit more focused on bc sure theres wind archer with both of them, but what about them??????? Stars are literally balls of fire in space. THINK ABOUT IT (T_T)

Bringing the other into space and ranting about the stars with references about how Firespirit's a star technically. Stardust being ok with hugging Firespirit since he's both extremely hot (stars make up him) and cold (he is also a void in a way) at the same time is UGHHHHHHHH (╥﹏╥)(╥﹏╥)

I despise white lily, not her as a character or the fact she used to be evil. I HATE HER EXISTENCE AS A WHOLE. She shouldn't exist; it was just a money grab. It was so out of pocket, too. They LITERALLY ruined Dark Enchantress character by making white lily a separate being. There won't be angst anymore; the ancients won't be saddened, conflicted, or anything when they see Dark Enchantress Cookie and remember her time as white lily BECAUSE WHITE LILY IS ALREADY THERE!!

OMG, I'm so annoyed they literally ruined both Dark Enchantress and white Lily's characters at the same time, JUST FOR MONEY!! They could've gone with it in so many ways, like redeeming her in the end, and she returns to being a white lily. BUT NO, DEVISIS IS TOO MONEY-HUNGRY; THEY COULDN'T WAIT A BIT. THEY JUST HAD TO RUIN 2 CHARACTERS!!

AND ANOTHER THING, how did White Lily quickly lose her motives? I mean, I get that they're two different halves, but seriously? I mean, not even a second thought? She was like, "Hmm, oh, I'm the good one! So No i won't question our existence as cookies like last time, even tho that was what caused my downfall! I just wanna help you guys!" I'm seriously confused as to why she never reverted back; I get that she's the better version, but Dark Enchantress was also kind before finding out cookies were meant to be eaten. Shouldn't the weight of that knowledge also at least make her somewhat hesitant to rebel against Dark Enchantress Cookie?

I guess I'm just annoyed because I know the complexity of white lily and Dark Enchantresss got curb stomped, and Dark Enchantresss will just be the villain they will defeat instead of the one theyll want to understand or help.

A little rants with a few of strong language and very small mention of death/🍇 threat so please be warned.

I noticed that some of the Ancient X Beast hater/Beast x Beast shippers have some sort of a god complex.

Now I'm not saying that ALL of them of course, just some of them. Like I was in my tiktok(Of course) and saw a video where they were using "Don't care" audio where they first show shadow milk and pure vanilla as the caption was like "You HAVE to ship shadowvanilla, it's more complicated and better!" And it's switch to BurningMilk. I check the comments and they were all like "It's so much healthy!". I also saw so many EternalHolly/Hollysugar hater and being like " Poor Hollyberry, being shipped with a character that going to hurt her:(" and Shadowsugar shipper comparing their ship to EternalHolly and ShadowVanilla and how healthy their ships are. No seriously, this is real.

I'm just going to say this, I'm not unaware of the toxicity of the ships nor will I ignore the horrible things that the beast did to their ancient heroes. Like I'm Delusional not stupid. But like Burning Milk and Shadowsugar isn't healthy either (their goal are completely different and their personality like oils and water). Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't ship them(I also ship them) and that is not my point at all but Ancient X Beast hater/Beast x Beast shippers have this weird obsession of comparing their ships to any Ancient Heroes. They're like those type of people with have a strict Diet who LOVE talking about how healthy their foods are and shame other who eat unhealthy food. I know it's a weird comparison but still! They act like shipping villain and a hero will destroy the fucking universe. They have this god complex of "I'm better because I ship this instead of this ship" and it's leaking though the screen.

The biggest problem is that I have been seeing is that they treat fiction characters like real people and treat real people like fiction characters. They will see a ship that they consider toxic and start whining on how an two FICTIONAL character don't like each other and decide to leave hateful comments to the creators (a living being) or worse, will leave d3ath/🍇 threats to the creator as if it's a normal thing to do. I understand that you don't like the ship and I'm not going to forced you to but why do you need to leave a comment instead of Scroll and don't interact at all? It's like going to a gay club and be mad that there is gay people(Again weird comparison but still). Some people need to learn how to fuck off and go on our day.

Anyway this is just a rant, can you tell me your opinion on this? I really want to hear anyone opinion on this. Am I wrong or right??

I don't mean morally grey like Pastry or Clotted Cream. I mean a different thing.

Like... Literally, we just saw Stormbringer attacking a dragon that knew no better. And calling Dark Cacao arrogant, even is she is also REALLY arrogant herself. And even tho it probably is just devsis not being good writters, we can interpret this as a showing that how not even gods are free or flaws in this world. That as all-mighty they are, they are still gonna fuck up. And fuck up BADLY.

Same situation with Sea Faery but not do direct. She was so fucking STUPID for leaving two kingdoms to die just for a woman that is impossible to reach for her. And again, it shows that gods are weak and that love can be so endearing and so fucking trágic. Is bad writting that can be used for a tragedy about an irresponsable god. (That last thing is even more easy to embrace in the update of Black Pearl's backstory).

Dark Cacao also. We have the whole situation with Dark Choco. That is basicaly just confusing writting, but that the fandom as a whole has choosen to interpret as him having complex feelings from the trauma of the Dark Flour War. He loves his son, he is just really not that good with emotions. And that mixed with the circunstsnces leaded to not something good.

Smoked Cheese is also an interesting case. Started really well as someone who wanted the best for the kingdom and by the end of the story if completly derrailed for that. (Not profundizing too much, I already did a post only about him).

Damn, you don't even have to involved godhood to see that this game is good at making complex and sometimes not even intentional mean people.

Licorice for example. He has so much potential and so much interesting thing, and that at the same time co-exits with the fact he fucking dead-names Brute. The fact that he has trauma, a backstory, an pontential happens as the same time that he has a HUGE problematic behaivor.

Butter roll is another example. There is the whole discourse of him being ableist. And yeah, he defenetly did acted like an asshole and probably is ableist to some degree. But this also lead to multiple conclusions on how this shows he is not just a himbo becauase of this happening, or a complete demon because of not being clear with what intentions did happened.

You don't even have to look that far to see this being posible with more nice characters!

Olive cookie literaly was talking like the cheese people were objects of the past, right infront of them.

Similar situation with Eclair explaining Tea Knigth's backstory right infront of him, even if he doesnt want to hear it!

Like... Idk, i just love seeing that characters with HUGE, really concerning, or sometimes a bit smaller flaws can also be charming and interesting. Because that is how real people act. And I really wished this fandom could handle both concepts at the same time, insteed of forgetting totally that it happened for the sake of making the character more likeble or straight up making that their only characteristic.

One thing is acknowledging, another is covering it up, and another is demonizing
