Rabbits are a long-standing part of our family. When I was little, my mom would send letters to my favorite aunt and uncle and draw 4 little rabbits on the envelope to represent our family. My aunt would write back and draw 2 ducks (before kids). I lovingly called our daughter Bunny, it just happened and when she became a woman, it changed to Rabbit. This rabbit of mine is part of my Texas collection. He or she, whichever fits for you. I’m not sure who was the most excited about moving to the new premises today. We all wandered around just looking at the new creative inspiring space. Joy and Roz and the team have created a little bit of heaven here. (The Prosecco went down well too.) This is an example of how we rob ourselves of the happiness the world is trying to give us. The happiness we are craving. It’s there, and we are STILL choosing something else. This is WHY self awareness is incredibly important. For example 1: when I am not with my son, Rome, I can feel a bit guilty and I focus on the “missing” of him which makes me a bit sad… but when I’m not with him, I’m spending incredibly valuable time with Stephen. The opposite: when I’m with Rome, I crave quality time with Stephen. Queue self awareness: “If I don’t get a grip on this and consciously choose the love and happiness in that moment, I’ll default to “missing”, creating misery, and literally miss out on the happiness I’m simultaneously creating 🤯 💥 This is an example I’m sure a lot of parents can relate to but there are many many more (ie: simply wishing the greatness in front of you was something other than what it is….)
