Los Angeles USA:
Pro-Palestinian protesters/terrorists took over a floor of a building at California State University in LA while holding lecturers from the university's academic staff, including the president of the university, hostage in the building.
##
That's how it is when your role model is a terrorist organization that kidnaps people... Maybe this will wake up some Americans who still don't understand what's going on around them.

𝒦𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓅𝓈𝒾𝒶.
𝟎𝟏. 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Warnings: MDNI • Explicit • Nate Jacobs x BlackOC! Leona Avery, masturbation (masc) , obsessive behavior, smoking, language.
Summary: Life was tumultuous for the juniors and seniors at East Highland High School; there was always enough drama to fill centuries of Shakespearean plays and enough vitriol to manifest physical disease. So, when Nate Jacobs applies for college, he intends to do things differently, to have a clean slate.
He keeps his nose in a book, and his mind on the stories of his past as he nearly writes for his life. His new path seems to completely drown out his old one, until he meets the woman of his dreams, Leona Avery.
Word Count: 1.2k💜
A/N: I've accepted that I just wanna have fun with this shit... that means i'll probably start 100 more fics before I'm truly tired of myself... 🤷🏾♀️ I hope you enjoy this one! It's sort of random lol.
p.s. Also, this is/will be a dark romance fic so if that's not your jam, I would suggest you don't get too invested... but you are in charge of your own reading experience boo 💜

𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧. 𝐀𝐧 ‘𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐞’ 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠.
From the first time he saw her, it was like everything in his body told him she was his. The sway in her walk, the neat way she always kept her hair, parted to the side with the bang falling into her face to compliment those beautiful big eyes.
“Hey, I’m Nate.”
From the first time he spoke to her, it was like she couldn’t stop finding him in any crowd, in any room. Two magnets of souls, destined to meet and intertwine.
That day she had smiled up at his pretty face, taking in every detail. He was gorgeous. It didn’t matter that he seemed so reserved with a face like that, all the girls at CSULA threw themselves at him. 6’5’’, handsomely chiseled with dark hair? How could they not?
But she knew there was more behind his silence. A story.
“Leona Avery. Nice to meet you.” Her voice was melodic like a canary had possessed her. Nate could hear her say anything and he would nod in agreement. A far cry from who he was at East Highland High School.
But after graduation, he had turned inward. Sort of recluse. He had no real friends, aside from McKay, and even he could only take so much of him at a time. He spent most of his days scribbling into his tattered notebook, trying to piece words together to sew the fabric of the several stories he’d lived through.
Tonight he was sitting at his desk, in the quiet, desolate shell he called an apartment, staring at the worn pages. He had scribbled a few words, erased them, and then scribbled again. He couldn’t possibly find the right verbiage to describe a woman so innocently and mysteriously enticing. Those terms alone just would not do.
With a deep breath, he leaned back in his desk chair and brought a knowing hand to the pocket of his jeans to find his cigarette case. On one side, he kept his unfiltered cigarettes and on the other, a neat line of perfectly rolled joints for his consumption. After picking one from the bunch, he brought a jay to his lips and grabbed his lighter from that same pocket, flicking it quickly then bringing the open flame to the end of his herb.
A few hits was all it took to heighten his awareness, and suddenly, the room felt bigger. Less furniture meant more space, not like he was doing anything with it. No one ever visited him, he had no one. Another drag of his joint moved him to exhale loudly, pushing up from his seated position and putting his things away. He’d try again later. When his mind wasn’t so, distracted.
Quick hands began to put everything on his desk back in the places he had made for them. His pens and pencils back in their designated glass, the eraser neatly aligned with the stapler on his right side, and his journal closed with the elastic holder binding the pages close together. The little black book sat in the middle of his desk until his next sprint, his desk chair perfectly pushed under the mahogany wood.
As he walked into his bedroom, he set his joint in the clear ashtray on his nightstand and then, he took off his thin framed glasses –courtesy of his mandatory freshman physical years ago– and placed them beside the transparent glass as well. He then began to strip out of his clothes diligently.
After taking each article off, he would fold it neatly, and place it in his laundry basket, sorted by colors, whites and bulkier items.
Once his body was bare of any coverings, he pulled the covers on his bed back to make a space for himself, and climbed onto his plush mattress to settle in under the cool linen. Silence fell around him that would allow him no peace, no solace. And then, he took his phone in his large hands and navigated to Instagram from pure muscle memory, swiping through the stories of old friends and distant acquaintances alike.
Until he saw Leona’s.
Both of his eyes glued on the screen, and his mind focused solely on the woman behind the glass, he clicked on the reel post and turned his volume up to hear her pretty little voice.
“Get ready with me for class as a junior communications major at CSU Los Angeles.” She flipped her luscious hair over her shoulder and then dropped her white robe, revealing the bra and panty set she wore underneath. Instantly, Nate could feel his dick grow under his duvet, and sure enough, when he looked past his phone for a moment, he could see the small tent growing.
He let out a labored breath as he allowed his free hand to rub against his chest, and his eyes fluttered at his worsening sensitivity.
“So, today, I wanted to keep it a little casual and I just wore my favorite Cal State sweater with some cut-off jean shorts for a cute early-fall look. I paired this with my Fendi Rockoko knit boots in black and cream.” Even as she dressed herself –in an outfit that he got to see in person today– he couldn’t help but ease his hand down his torso and his hips to the problem that arose. All it took was one stroke and his head fell back on his soft pillow as he took in the instant hit of dopamine.
“Fuck.” Nate called out, before taking in a sharp breath. He brought his hand up to his mouth and spit in it swiftly then placed the hand back on his dick to lubricate his strokes. Light whimpers and rasped moans filled the space of his room as he pulled and tugged at his length, no rhythm, just a pure need to feel his end, to hear her voice when he felt it.
“I love to use this Kay Ali vanilla perfume, it makes me smell so yummy.”
“Ohh, shit Leona.” He moaned nasally as his body tensed under his swift actions, as he left himself no chance to get used to the pleasure. His breaths were fragmented, barely allowing for any real oxygenation. And as his head felt lighter, and a bit of pressure eased behind his eyes, he squeezed them shut at his impending release.
“Uhn, uh, uh.” He grunted continuously as his climax coarsed through him, and finally he flipped the cover off of his body as he shot strings of cum all over his abdomen. He stroked himself a few more times, seeing the small beads of cum flow from his tip.
“Hmph.” He huffed, dropping his hand from his throbbing shaft as he had expended all of his energy. His head then tilted back and landed on his pillow for the last time that night, his dreams circulating with visions of only one.

by Dion J. Pierre Meanwhile, Students for Justice in Palestine has hinted that more destruction is forthcoming, and the latest local reporting indicates that none of its members have been arrested. “We will not back down!” the group said in a social media post. “We will remain steadfast for Palestine!” Students for Justice in Palestine, which has resorted to intimidation, harassment, and even physical violence to pressure universities into severing ties with Israel, defended their actions in a press release issued on Wednesday. Noting that its members had camped on campus for 40 days, the group said that Eanes, whom they summoned to a meeting after blocking all of SSB’s exits, ran out of time to accede to their demands. “This direct action is in response to the failure of President Eanes to continue to negotiate in good faith with the Popular University for Gaza Solidarity Encampment on campus,” SJP said. “She has refused to continue negotiations or make meaningful progress toward meeting the demands of the student body. Delaying negotiations past the end of spring semester at a commuter campus shows clear bad faith and an attempt to wait out students instead of actively working to reach an agreement.” In a chilling statement which acknowledged the intentionality of their behavior, SJP said administrators who had been trapped inside SSB could only exit with “escorts.” “We will not back down and we will rise again just like our comrades in Palestine,” SJP said after law enforcement reclaimed the campus, suggesting there will be violence next time rather than peaceful protests. “We will remain steadfast in our mission for disclosure, divestment, boycott, and for our university to call for the end of the occupation and bombardment of Gaza.”
The university gave them an inch, then another inch, then a foot. Now SJP is taking a mile and laughing at the university's "condemnation." Who could have predicted that?

any future!rina hc?
not many tbh, i actually enjoy "definite" endings/flash-forwards in most cases but with them im glad it was left open-ended! that said –
ok so like. the r&j movie's going to flop. you can't just have the same story but simply make them NOT die in the end and expect it to work. but gina's performance is the one thing that gets praised in it, which does help her a lot
ricky's not romeo though kdlfj
they do lsoh for their spring musical. the two of them get cast as audrey ii – they handle the puppets and alternate who says the lines by scene. it's not the part either of them imagined getting but they have a lot of fun
gina goes back to camp the next summer and promptly twists her ankle, so she just choreographs the show but doesn't participate :( which is fine with her tbh, she's very exhausted having just finished the movie and the musical and this is the only break she'll get before starting movie press and stuff (and senior year)
ricky unfortunately has orientation during week 2 of camp so he doesn't go but he sends her care packages every single day and comes to opening night to hand out cards <3
EJ's there to direct again and he and gina become proper friends
the fall musical is &J and gina is obviously juliet and she just rolls her eyes when that's announced. jet's romeo. when the media catches wind of this they have a field day ("porter's performance only emphasizes the missteps in the film…") which is also Not Great
she's also stressed the fuck out because college apps are also happening and ricky ends up driving down every chance he gets to keep her company and help take her mind off of things. turns out he's very good at editing essays (and distracting her…)
he gives her a very sweet pep talk during intermission of the show because she's on the verge of a breakdown at this point
her mom didn't make it to opening night again but both his parents bring her flowers and cheer the loudest during her bows
gina's mom plans a vacation to london over winter break and she begs and begs until her mom lets ricky come too
her mom has business meetings half the time so they wander around holding hands and looking at the christmas lights and doing ALL the touristy things
ricky had no idea what a panto is initially but he enjoys it so much he wonders multiple times why they're not a thing in america
gina just loves that he loved it
the spring musical is cabaret, she's sally, her performance gets her nominated for the jimmy awards (which she goes on to win)
but she decides to focus on school for a bit after high school even though roles are being offered to her left-and-right
she gets a full-ride scholarship to usc and ricky is SO PROUD.
he snuck in through the window the night she told him and he squealed so loudly her mom got scared and ran up there and caught them lol but even she can't hide her smile esp when she finds out the reason
ricky tells her he applied to transfer to csula and got in
obviously she kisses him senseless after that. he tries to shrug it off as not a big deal and shes just like "no, it's amazing, i'm so proud of you" an he starts crying, basically
he explores a ton of majors but eventually decides on education with minors in music production and theatre – he knows whatever he does, he wants to help people feel the way he did when he found the drama club
goes w/o saying but they get married at some point and have a house full of golden-retrievers

Warren Furutani and friends performs at the NCRR DOR event at CSULA [x]
The Asian & Pacific Islander Student Union (APSU) was a statewide network of student organizations formed in the 1970s in response to the Regents of the University of California vs. Bakke decision that weakened affirmative action programs in the United States and ultimately paved the way for California to ban such programs altogether in 1996. APSU became heavily involved in political activism, particularly around social justice and civil rights issues, and accordingly, many of their events included marches, rallies, and protests. This protograph depicts singer Lisa Abe at the center of a full ensemble that includes brothers Alan and Warren Furutani at the NCRR Day of Remembrance event at CSULA.
