I am having Ideas for an AU but its heavily inspired by your selkie AU so I wanted to know if that's ok?

The AU is basically the same concept but with werewolves. Weresticks? Werecursors? As in, the transformation is not only a sliding scale rather than one and done, but it leans heavily on instincts and can be spread to others in the right circumstances.

Man, I love all your cursor-related stuff, it's all so neat. So here some questions for you, as a treat:

How big would SPC!Cursor Alan be? Last I saw you just said he was too big to fit through doors, but did you have like a specific measurement range in mind?

How strong would Cursor Alan be? In Showdown, the Animator Combat Tool cursor can pick up boulders like its nothing and just fling them, but would that level of strength even be possible for him as a living cursor?

Is he able to be injured? How difficult is it to do, if so? Would he bleed or leak a blood equivalent? What about things like fire or ice or acid, how would they affect him?

Does he need to breathe? Does he have any sort of internal structure/anatomy, or is he just a construct of code or something? Can he get sick? Does he need to sleep, and if so, how does he do it? How does temperature affect him?

How fast can he fly? (whenever he figures out how lol) How high can he fly? How DOES he (and other cursors) fly? Can he sleep-fly? (or, I guess, it'd be more like a sleep-hover.)

What are his senses like? Can he still feel sort of like he could as a human, or is his sense of touch altered or muted? Can he still smell? Taste? Does his hearing remain the same or does it change, for better or worse? What about vision? Can he see int he same way as he used to, or is his vision all weird now (like he can seen new colors a-la shrimps or not see colors he used to be able to?) what about the perspective, does that change? Does he see outward towards the tip of the cursor or to the sides (the tip being a blind spot?) Does he still need glasses?

How does he interact with the world around him? Is clicking and holding things all he can do now? Does right clicking bring up a menu, or is it mostly useless?

Can he change shape at all? Like between the different cursor icons, like the text-selecter, or a hand, or even a brush? [Now all I can think about is the old windows 98 hourglass loading cursor icon thing and I can't stop laughing. He just Spins. Slowly. In the Air.]

STRONG. maybe not that level of strong, still thinking, but definitely strong enough to throw the average person around like they're nothing. could probably kill someone by smashing them into a wall

he's gotta be strong enough to protect his young yk? even though he doesn't have any JSHDJS (yet...)

yes! i imagine it depends on the type of injury, crush damage would probably be hard, with piercing and slashing being easier to hurt him with. he also does bleed, his blood is dark purple.

he's probably resistant to things like that, especially fire, but they'd still damage him. you've cursed me with the mental image of a cursor being corroded by acid. eughh

i do imagine he'd need to breathe, and like, it just absorbs through his skin. eugh

i do imagine he has like, an internal anatomy, but it's very bare bones compared to ours. all he probably has is just purple and white skin, and a sort of dark purple spongey "flesh" underneath.

yeah he can get sick! honestly he's probably susceptible to human illnesses too HSHDBD just to make him a little freaky

yeah cursors need to sleep. it's honestly the same/really similar to how cats do, like a lot of hours with wakefulness mixed in.

temperature affects him in the same way it does to us, slowing our movement, making us shiver, making us overheat, etc. i don't really know if he'd be able to sweat though. i feel kinda weird about that idea

pretty fast! like his fastest is how fast he's shown to fly in the Showdown. he can also fly up infinitely too, the only thing keeping him from doing that would be whether or not the surrounding air has enough oxygen to support him, cause if not then he'll just pass out and plummet.

honestly... the best way i can describe how a cursor flies is just "moving along the [?]-axis". that's the only way i can imagine it working

and yes! he can sleep-hover! i imagine if you startle him awake then he'd fall down or fly away from you though. once he figures out how to fly that's almost exclusively what he was, but if he's tired enough or calm enough then he'll sleep on the ground/on a mattress. they're kinda like a horse where they only sleep on the ground when really tired or feeling really safe

His main method of interaction is clicking and stuff, yeah, but he can also just like... do body stuff. like rubbing against things or nuzzling into things you know what i mean

and yes, right clicking does bring up a menu! it depends on what he clicks on ofc (hence the name context menu), but like i imagine if he clicks like one of the walls of his containment then it would show the same one you get when you right-click on your desktop background! yk the one that shows the Personalize and Display Settings options. so he'd be able to like.. change the background of the wall to one of the default ones he already has... installed? yk what i mean

his sense of touch and hearing are actually pretty much unchanged! surprising right? but... his sense of smell is basically gone! he still has a sense of taste, although it's probably more attuned to thing carbs and proteins, since big cursors need a lot of those. he likes his sweets and meats now!

his vision is. hm. it's kind of like looking around normally, except your not moving your eyes or your head, you're just– shifting your focus. he won't really be able to see behind, directly above, or directly below himself unless he specifically looks there.

but like he won't have to actually move to shift his focus, he can stay completely still while doing it. it's like he has an eye on him that can just move around on his body haha

he might be able to see different colors... maybe. it depends. probably not by too much, just able to dip into the ultraviolet and infrared colors.

as for glasses– i never imagined him needing glasses, but the idea of this giant very-able-to-kill-you cursor just descending down from a high area and just. getting all in your face. cause it can barely see you otherwise is so funny to me

maybe if he hovers over text/writing that's large enough then he'll turn into an I-beam, or maybe when he's trying to chase someone/something but in a playful way, then he'll become a hand.

i imagine he wouldn't be able to become cursor forms that aren't innate to a computer, so probably no paintbrush cursor for Alan :(. so sad

also... the image of him just spinning like that is so funny...... bro would DEF be dizzy afterwards... hopefully (or not-so hopefully) cursors can vomit

Stained Glass Cursor Art

So this is supposed to be a kind of stained glass art of Cursored Luna from @alan-in-the-outernet’s apotheosis au…. This is what that other one was a test for :3

But I just started think about because they are gods, you can find a lot of stained glass of religious things so it got me thinking… and drawing.

I might end up working on it more later and making it more refined with the lighting behind the ‘window’ so there might be a repost with a different version later.

I might also make more later…. As though this did take a bit it was fun…..

i went to an art museum ! :D it was for school tho so i dont have any pictures but it was super cool !

ive recently become interested in this one roblox game called pressure :3 its based off of the roblox game doors which was really popular in 2022, im pretty sure it also takes inspiration off of SCP (and a few other things)

it takes the idea of different doors and each server being randomized from doors, but it takes the idea of monsters and a containment from SCP

basically the lore is that you (the player) were arrested, it doesnt matter if you actually committed the crime or not but youre basically sent to retrieve a crystal to escape and then youre let off for your crimes

the idea is that the player is expendable, youre not expected to return, even if the player has the ability to come back

so to the actual gameplay- theres different monsters you have to hide from, the lights flicker and you have to hide in a locker, although a monster named pandemonium can see if youre in a locker or not and force you into a minigame of trying to keep the cursor in the middle of the screen

ive only gotten past door 16, i keep dying to angler 😔 at door 50 theres a guy named sebastian who sells you stuff and hes really silly (lie) i love him, theres a makeship for a plushie of him and idk if ill be able to get him, its him or echoes of wisdom..

Now I'm thinking what would make a fun interactable plush laptop. I fink 1. Cute silly logo on the back, 2. Icons and maybe a cursor you can velcro or snap button on and off, 3. Interchangeable screens. Nothing too crazy maybe like a home screen and a "game" screen that could have a simple puzzle. Squeaky or clicky mouse/TouchPad square. Maybe also a "document" screen that's easy to wash so you could write or draw on it. Maybe different textures on some of the keys? Whacky mode, velcro/snap keys for a puzzle ish element also

Week 5

Started watching "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!" this week, it's a 2020 anime about making anime. I'm only 1/3 through the series and when I started this series I thought this show would be about the process of making an anime from the ground up. While that is true it mainly focuses on the struggles of getting an anime made due to outside forces rather than the actual process itself. An example being that Eizouken are under a time constraint to get their animation finished before the school budget meeting and now they are forced to compromise with where they should cut corners such as some scenes not having color or a different scene made by a computer program. It brings to light the struggles of balancing time constraints, budget, hardware/personal constraints, and compromising between the story of the animators and the needs of the producers. I actually like this plot rather than what I formally thought it was, I definitely am able to connect more to the characters due to me having to meet deadlines for my capstone so I definitely want to watch it all the way through.

This Wednesday the RedShift art club had a presentation night about character design. This was a golden opportunity for me because it gave me a chance to get general information about what goes into designing a character and I got to see what the thought process is for people who are experienced and those not experienced in making characters. I was pleasantly surprised on how informative of a presentation my classmate Janelle made, I definitely went into this thinking it would be half assed and we would be more focused on having fun redesigning characters than trying to learn something useful. The four main principals in character design are Focus, Shape language/Exaggeration, Color Palette, and Silhouette. I also found out that Janelle uses Paint Tool Sight for digital art and Krita for animation.

Finally! I got around to drawing in Krita. So far it definitely feels no different to drawing digitally in Photoshop but that may be because I was only using one brush. Instead of using a tablet to draw in Krita, my roommate let me borrow his touchscreen pen laptop. It had its own set of complications, I had to restart the laptop 6 times because the cursor was bugging out, but I want to say it felt a bit easier to draw. I at least knew the exact direction my line would be going in but I was still having trouble making my drawing exactly how I wanted it to look. It came out fine but I definitely need some more help in terms of how to sketch and layer those sketches and colors.

REFLECTION:

It was nice being able to watch an anime for research purposes, it's like killing two birds with one stone, if I don't get anything out of it well then at least I got it out of my plan-to-watch list. It was also nice to do something that wasn't on my computer and interact with some Stevens students who aren't in my major. It was also a big eye-opener that if I'm really struggling with something I can ask my classmates for help cause they definitely know a lot more than I do. Next week I'm going to hammer out the script for my animation so most likely little to no research is required and I'll just let my brain put what it has been thinking for the past couple of weeks into writing.

DelaneyPost 05 (ManaPost 12) - The Title Matches The Date

Bonjour tous les gens! Welcome BACK to your #1 ManaPotion Information Station! This week was full of some great developments! From Movement to Monsters! Stay tuned for today's debrief.

You May have felt a sort of stiffness in the videos that we share with you all. Controlling The Laney was a little stiff and not super rewarding to control. Well, to remedy this, we've added two brand new moves!

The Swing Recovery

Introducing the Swing Recovery! Simply push the spacebar while Delaney is in her attacking animation to get a burst of speed in the direction of her swing and get 2x movement speed for 1 second. Useful for quickly getting around The Manor, or tossing some lighter enemies all over the grid!

The Launch Recovery

Also introducing the Launch Recovery! If you're skilled enough to keep up with Delaney's ludicrous speed during her launch time, you can hold your control keys in the same direction she is traveling as she ends her launch to get a boost of MORE 2x movement speed for 3 seconds! Really helpful in a pinch!

More General Improvements

We've also added a few "Inertial" mechanics to Delaney's controller. For one, we've added Autotargeting functionality to some hammers. These hammers will make Delaney face your cursor as she swings. Hammers that don't have this functionality will instead use Delaney's current facing angle to give her a push in the right direction!

We've also given Delaney a small bit of velocity towards the cursor while she's spinning her hammer! All of this was thanks to a Major refactor of Delaney's Character Controller script! brought down a third of the size of the last one, and runs way faster! Yeahoo!!!

With the minor improvements out of the way, lets talk about the heavy hitters of this week's post:

Monsters! (Eek!)

Delaney isn't quite right without some monsters to interact with, and this week we finally started on those little critters! We decided to focus on the gimmick monsters first to give you all a taste of the fun movement mechanics you'll be able to play around with!

Pause Ghosts

You've seen these silly spectres before! Although they were in a prototype-y state, they're now complete and looking better than ever! Simply fling Delaney into one of the three variants: Slow, Normal, and Fast! See for yourself what they can do.

Launch Dolls

You haven't seen these stuffed bunnies before! These are Launch Dolls. Swing your hammer and they go flying! As simple as that. They come in two variants; Soft and Hardy. Soft dolls explode to a pile of fluff once they're done launching. Hardy dolls do not explode! You can just keep swinging at them for as long as you please!

These wont be the only monsters, rest assured. We have one more in store that didn't quite finish development on time. You'll see more of him in the next DelaneyPost!

We spent a lot of time prepping for AI during the latter half of this week, so the other half of our work today is quite technical, and we'll leave it up to you to look into A* Pathfinding, the tried and true algorithm we'll be using to base our AI off of.

2024

Happy 1 whole year to me being jobless HAHHAGSHA what a way to start the post

Aside that, I’m proud at myself with what I’ve done in 2024. People who had expectations of me obviously weren’t but I wanted to do everything and I can only do so much with how messed up I still am ( ；∀；)

I know no one will ever be proud of me except myself and my f/os so I’m listing off the things that I’m proud of doing in 2024!

1. Made my very first ever nui in March!!! So excited to do something new and out of my comfort zone for once! I enjoyed it so much. The result wasn’t I expected but I’m so proud of myself to be able to finish it!! 💫

2. Had so much fun oshikatsu with besties in April ^_^ celebrated Yuuya’s birthday and fuck it we ball at JJK cafe LMAOOO none of us liked the series. We only like the songs made for it 😭

3. Stayed long enough to see my beautiful husband’s smile again 💝 (went to the hashira training premiere in March and the TV series in May!)

4. Went to see my long time favorite utaite Eve in May!!! I feel like a proud parent to see him live 😭😭🫶

5. Went on morning walks in July. It didn’t last long but the fact that I did it for like a month was something! hahaha

6. Went to see my favourite metal bands ever (BMTH & Babymetal) in Augustttt!! 🤘🖤 baby’s first mosh pit experience! I got thrown around and fell over lmaooo no injuries whatsoever though, so that’s a relief!

7. Celebrated Tengen’s birthday in October ^w^ his birthday art was soooo prettyyyy AAAAAA 💗💗💗 this makes it my second year celebrating his special day! I’m so happy to have oshi you 🫶 Also drew a lot more for his birthday countdown this year! :D I’m so proud of myself for that!! I also was able to join a web event!!! It’s an Uzui family only web event! For this I also made my very first cursor!!!!! (Yes it’s Tengen themed hehe)

8. Went to see Fujii Kaze in November! Literally on my birthday!!! Had so much fun singing and dancing to his songs. Also got to listen to Matsuri live. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted 🥹🫶 Immediately after that, caught my flight to Japan 😭 it was crazyyy lmaooo I was happy that I got to see, visit and do a lot of stuff and places!!! Highlight of the trip for me is definitely going to USJ, visit the Hashira Exhibition, and celebrated Tengen’s birthday at ufotable cafe ^w^ This should have its own post ww

9. Closing the year with my graduation in early December!!!!! I have a degree in Japanese Language and Linguistics now but I still can’t fluently converse in it LMAOOOO so all of those 3 years gone to waste? 🥴 I’m not sure if this is even worth mentioning because it’s really rocky atm but I recently got a partner. Sounds silly but I went full throttle with selfshipping and oshikatsu in 2024 so I already gave up wasn’t really looking for any real people due to my insecurities HAHAHAHA would be nice if it works out but if it doesn’t, it’s not like it’s the end of the world hehe the world still keeps spinning even when I’m dead ^_^

10. Other than those, I’m so happy to able to support my favourite doujin artists/cosplayer!!!!! 🫶💗💖💝 wasn’t able to go to any doujin event during my trip like last year but I was still able to get it online and that’s alright! ( ；∀；)👍

Anyway, 2025. I want to spend more for Tengen because I don’t think it’s going out anytime soon (hopefully not ever!) so I’m hoping to get a job with good pay 😷 I’m… struggling a lot with it but I’m gonna make it work 😵‍💫 I also want to get back to making merchs and boothing at events ;_;🙏

つ：i always think of amane as refusing to do anything solo with tsukasa…. for a long time. like it's dangerous…. unwilling to be, alone with tsukasa, basically. it feels taboo as it is, in canon. its why i'm so curious about the liminal space of tsukasa poofing nene away and being there for even just a minute….

it feels like. he can't stick around. you know. as it is…. even in the threeway, I imagine the 'norm' is that tsukasa can show up during school hours, while nene is there, play around, and disappear when she does, leaving hanako alone. we aren't roommates. i go to my room❤️

In a way I think it would be a hack for Nene specifically to want to see Tsukasa, who himself would see no reason to deny her that. She's like his tether to this situation, Nene wants me here and Amane allows me here. hehueue

I do think it's like highly forbidden to be alone together, especially after school hours, even. like, platonically. which is why I really enjoy the vibes, whether it's them on the roof talking quietly or something like. Hanako menacingly drifting down the halls

The sounds of the coffee shop around you filled the room; the everyday hustle and bustle of footsteps, casual chatter, and the clinking of porcelain cups were a familiar comfort, and god knows you needed it right now.

The face of the website you'd had open for several days now stared at you (through you?), the direct eye contact of the cartoon puppet mascots making you squirm in your seat.

Welcome Home! It said in bright pastel letters and a font you didn't recognize, though it sparked a deep sense of nostalgia in you; the whole concept did. In fact, that was the whole reason you’d found yourself falling down this rabbit hole of researching, trying any kind of letter combinations in the web address, scrolling through every page you could access with all the text highlighted.

You knew the secrets: the hidden messages, the png title responses in the guestbook, the audio mp4… and it thrilled you.

You hadn't grown up watching the infamous puppet show, of course, you doubt anyone has. Hell, part of you agreed with the people saying it didn't ever exist and all of this was just some online creepy pasta goosechase. Even though, it was so fun to play along, right? To be part of the community, or to be part of the joke, it didn't matter at the end of the day.

Whatever circumstances brought you to wherever you were mentally, and here to this cafe physically, this puppet show had you wrapped around its finger; you didn't really know if you loved the mascots, with their fun, bright designs and their bubbly personalities; something akin to what you'd grown up with, like you'd known them your entire life– or if they terrified you. The same traits that had made them so endearing made them so devoid of life, so lonely and cold when you’d think about it too long. Made to be loved by an audience just to be erased from history entirely- all to be excavated now, alongside these grotesque secrets and mysteries… like it was hidden for a reason. (Exciting, right?)

You scrolled absent-mindedly through the Neighborhood page, looking through all the biographies of the characters, picking apart the text in any ways you could, though you can only command-all and highlight for so long before it’s just a desperate attempt made in vain.

Home is where the heart is and Welcome Home's residents are the heart of the neighborhood. Even if you don't live there, you're still one of its most important denizens! But don't worry, with the help of this colorful array of neighbors, it'll feel just like home in no time at all!

Yeah, yeah, whatever, they love me.

What used to put a pit in your stomach didn't really do all too much now. The immersiveness wears off after a while. It used to fill you with questions: “am i important to them as the viewer? Are they sentient enough to understand? If they are… how do they feel about it? About me?”

Losing yourself in the story was easy initially, but the meandering possibilities became meaningless prompts. It was just a slogan now.

Your cursor hovers over the titular Home, a second delay in hesitation. Even if nothing else sent a chill down your spine, Home would never fail to unnerve you.

You click.

You're greeted by Wally, the PNG of him painting, the one you see plastered over every blog or post regarding Welcome Home. it was silly of you to expect anything else.

You felt yourself ease back into your chair; there aren't any more secrets to discover until the website is next updated.

As you half-heartedly scroll to click on the Good Bye!, a mystery in itself, you saw it.

Wally’s eyes had just followed your mouse, even by just half an inch, you Swear To God you saw them move.

An overwhelming tremor of sudden panic took over your body; you felt your heart fall deep into your stomach. With a loud thunk, you slammed your laptop closed. You felt the stares of concern burn into your back from the other patrons of the coffee shop, but you didn't care. Hoisting yourself up, laptop in tow, you hurry out through the door, only the greeting bell breaking the apprehensive silence youd left behind you.

Its nothing, you were just staring too long,

you'd thought, though partially drowned out by the sound of your footsteps and the deafening beating of your heart.

Of course you got freaked out, you were looking to be scared, so you came up with something to be scared of. That's all it is; made up.

It didn't really happen.

You had to tell yourself this several times as you walked to your car, trying to shake the image out of your head.

It's not real.
