one were suguru was always Yggdrasil
think of it like he wanted to see the human world with it own eyes so he made the persona of suguru
maybe he married and started a family with sayuri so he could try to understand why humans cared about 'family' so much , if he actually cares for them idk
WELL! Teehee twirls my hair giggles
Tumblr media
I also just love drawing Suguru bc he hansomeee hehehe But here's my own spin bc u know me by now anon :3 His reasoning for finally peeking at the human world is likely that the barriers are thinning and digimon are starting to spill into the human world, and Yggdrasil wants to experience and see humanity before making any decisions. He feels right now is the safest time, as humans are beginning to learn and see something new and unknown, but it's happening at a slow, calm rate so there aren't any major catastrophes yet. Definitely just disguises himself as a guy. I like the idea of Yggdrasil genuinely falling for Sayuri and genuinely loving his family- I actually really like the idea that he didn't necessarily plan to have kids, so he was lowkey using his god powers to stop that (and he told Sayuri something abt him just not likely being able to do that) He just wants to explore this human world and humanity; despite all the cruelities that do happen, he enjoys her perspective, and finds himself warmed by her genuine optimism- but is grateful for her realism as well, because life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Despite that, she has strength to keep moving forward, keep being kind, and keep smiling. He feels... apathetic towards the rest of humanity, but Sayuri's outlook definitely helps tame any disgust or hatred he has. I feel he also genuinely likes and respects DATS- or at least the members who show genuine interest AND respect. I think around now he has a little hope in the humans that are good; that they can outweigh the bad. That's probably why he begins assisting the humans with digital partners. Yes, he could just reveal himself or do more; but the mission is to see what they do with what they're given. Can they really be compatible? Can they really be friends? He can't force such bonds, so he wants to see if humanity will take his gifts and use it well. (He is a little biased, treating his digimon with more favor.) By the time he has Masaru- I think at first he kinda expected to view Masaru as just another creation. to feel towards him what he does towards Digimon. But his affection for Masaru (and later Chika) exceeds that, because they were children born of love between him and another.
He loves his family, genuinely, but he is also the god of the digital world, and as things worsen, I think he has to make decisions. That's still his world that he reigns over. I think before he leaves during that goal to find Ikuto, he finally tells Sayuri the truth. It's... a lot for her to swallow, and I think they leave on awkward terms- it's the kind of thing where she wants to talk to him, have questions answered, etc etc,. but she needed time to process first, and he left before she finished. She keeps it from Masaru and Chika- unsure how they'll take it. I think she gets a little mixed feelings when Masaru befriends Agumon. Yggdrasil definitely pays attention once Masaru starts poking into the Digital World- curious how his son feels and views everything. At the end, he is largely proud of him (wishes he'd be less hot-headed, though.) Yggdrasil maintains his human form, but he does reveal the truth to his Royal Knights, Bancholeomon, and some other ruling digimon, like Mercurimon. Kurata's actions definitely soil Yggdrasil's views on humanity- in his rage and anguish over the loss of so many, he forgets the other humans he met beyond his own family. Even as he watches Masaru work with Touma, Yoshino and Ikuto- who share his perspective, he has a hard time caring for them. In the end the only reaosn he still loves Masaru is because of his familial and fatherly bias. Of coruse Masaru and Chika are good- they are of him and Sayuri. As things worsen, he genuinely starts to plan on a way to cut off conntact with the human world- but he's determined now to bring his family to him. He doesn't want the humans hurting his digimon any further, but he does not want to put Sayuri or his children at risk. Does not help matters when Touma, Masaru's human best friend, betrays them. By the time Masaru and him come face to face, he admits the truth of who he is- and while the others get away, he doesn't let them take Masaru. He tells Masaru his goal to destroy the human world, as it's the only way to save the digital world- and despite Yggdrasil trying to pacify him with the promise of being able to live in the digital world with his family, Masaru is too angry and afraid (dude's 14 and has been loaded w/ a lot recently okay) Yggdrasil just keeps him locked up for his own safety. A big thing is that Yggdrasil IS a computer god thing and IS supposed to be logical, but he let himself feel and have emotions and have a love and have family; it changed how he thinks, operates, etc etc Now he's more likely to feeel rage, anguish, etc., when before he might've kept a calmer head, and instead looked at everything with a colder, but logical, apathy. Now only does he have his family he genuinely loves, but being with Sayuri and learning about his heart, it did make him more affectionate and more protective of his own world. Dunno how this would end yet; I do wanna say it'd probably have a bittersweet ending where Masaru does go to the digital world, where he stays with Agumon (and Yggdrasil) while Chika and Sayuri prefer the human world and remain there.

Concept: After the kids were rescued from their abusive family. They temporarily stayed with the Naegi family. One night, Kotoko wanted to stay with big brother Makoto, because she was afraid of sleeping alone. Then Masaru joined in a tsundere way, then Monaca. Jataro and Nagisa stayed with big sis Komaru. The next morning as the kids play in the park, Komaru claimed she enjoys being a big sister.

I saw an ask about toko adopting Masuru, could you do a continuation but with Komaru included.
I can't believe that was like two years ago
Komaru wanted to do her absolute best to be a good parent for Masaru, just like Toko. She was a little more sure of herself in some ways, so she would at least seem like she knew what she was doing.
It took a while for Masaru to open up to her, but she never pressured him to do so. She knew it would be hard for him, and wanted him to take it at his own pace. He started opening up to Toko first, actually.
She and Masaru do more physical activities together, like going on runs or playing catch. Occasionally they’ll talk Toko into joining them for a game of catch or something, but that’s pretty rare.
Komaru and Toko were a good example when it came to a healthy relationship, which of course they believed to be important. Masaru joked that it was disgusting, but he knew they loved him, too.
He felt really safe with them. Masaru knew that they would fight anyone who was ever mean to him or anything like that, and he wanted to do the same for them when he grew up.

Why did it take me this long to figure out that it’s not some random shadow floating in the background but it’s Niru being hung as punishment for necromancy-
I swear every time I look at that video, I only get more hurt because my poor baby boy Daimon just can’t catch a break. I’m so happy he’s safe and sound now with his loving family because holy fuck...

Samurai's ranks and dress code in Late Edo period
AMAZING reference chart put together by Nadeshico Rin, showing the different attires worn by the men of the buke class in and about Edo Castle. OP stresses the chart is by no means exhaustive - but it helps picturing things SO MUCH!
For easier reading, I have adapted the chart with english translation. Rin has also created illustrations detailing each attire, I'll translate those in coming days under the tag "samurai kimono".
You'll find the transliteration below cut:
The court ranks - Mibun 身分 or Ikai (位階)
Find more about the exact titles here.
一位 Ichii (First court rank)
三位 Sanmi (Third court rank) and 四位 Shii (Fourth court rank)
Goi 五位 (Fifth court rank)
Omemie ijô 御目見 以上, the "upper" vassals allowed to request audience with the shogun
Omemie ika 御目見 以下, the "lesser" vassals (not allowed to request audience with the shogun)
Rin does not mention the second court rank (二位 Nii) so I am not sure where this one is supposed to go ^^;
The clan/families - Kamei 家名
徳川将軍家 Tokugawa shôgunke (Tokugawa Shogun clan)
Tokugawa gosankyo (Secondary Tokugawa branch clans: Tayasu, Shimizu, and Hitotsubashi)
三奉行 Sanbugyô, & 下三奉行 Shimosan bugyô (magistrates, governors)
旗本 Hatamoto (general term for upper-rank vassals of the Tokugawa)
御家人 Gokenin (general term for lower-rank vassals of the Tokugawa)
Outfits TPO (Time, Place, Occasion)
第一礼服 (大礼 など) Daiichi raifuku (tairei nado) - Most formal outfit worn during State/important ceremonies, etc.
礼服 (正月など) Raifuku (Shogatsu nado) - Formal outfit, worn for events like New Year, etc.
通常礼服 (節句など) Tsûjô raifuku (sekku nado) - Regular formal outfit, worn during seasonal festivals, etc.
平服 Heifuku - Everyday outfit
Type of outfits
Rin has released separated charts detailing the different costumes. You'll find them translated here in coming days.
束帯 Sokutai - old ceremonial court dress, first worn by Heian nobility. Attire includes the 笏 shaku (flat ritual sceptre), and 冠 kanmuri hat.
衣冠 Ikan - old ceremonial court dress, much more simpler than sokutai
布衣 Hoi - "plain" 狩衣 kariginu (which were informal clothes worn by the nobility from the Heian period and onwards)
素襖 Suô - ceremonial dress of the lower-ranked samurai
直垂 Hitatare - ceremonial court robe
狩衣 Kariginu - patterned kariginu (informal clothes worn by the nobility from the Heian period and onwards)
大紋 Daimon - 直垂 hitatare with large family crests
直衣 Nôshi - everyday robes which were first worn by males of the imperial family during Heian era, and then spread among nobility, etc.
長上下 Naga Kamishimo - outfit pairing a sleeveless ceremonial robe called 肩衣 kataginu, with trailing pants called 長袴 nagabakama
半上下 Han Kamishimo - outfit pairing a sleeveless ceremonial robe called 肩衣 kataginu, with ankle lenght pants called 半袴 hanbakama

do I believe any character's trust in Dumbledore could potentially be broken? yes. have I ever seen anybody write it in ways that make sense for those characters' unique perspectives and personalities? no.
and a lot of times it's still compelling as hell when the most devoted characters start seeing cracks early or when they fight for something else in the first place, not regarding Dumbledore as their guiding light at all. it turns those characters into different people though.
but what strikes me more is the immediate shift of the atmosphere of the first war and everything that happens throughout.
because when I think about the first Order of the Phoenix and Dumbledore, my first association is, surprisingly, cult of personality. USSR cults, specifically. they were sort of unique, initially crafted to give more power to the Party instead of the Leader.
Order is similar, in a way. on the surface it's just resistance. an organised war effort. a mishmash of people from different backgrounds uniting to fight for personal reasons. James fights for the greater good and his righteous ideals. and James fights for Lily. Lily fights for herself and those marginalised like her. and Lily fights for her muggle family. Sirius doesn't fight for, but against - against his blood family, against Slytherins, against everybody like them. and Sirius fights with James. those 3 are simple. what about others?
Remus doesn't fight for or against. Remus fights with Dumbledore. because Remus' world revolves around Dumbledore and when he says "go die in a war" - Remus goes, no questions asked. he owes Dumbledore that much. Peter doesn't fight for or against. Peter fights with Dumbledore. because Peter wants to be safe and Peter wants to win. Dumbledore promises a win. Peter believes him until he doesn't.
but James also fights with Dumbledore. because Dumbledore is the greater good personified and shares James' righteous ideals. Lily also fights with Dumbledore. because Dumbledore fights for marginalised the loudest. Sirius also fights with Dumbledore. because Dumbledore fights against everybody who's like Sirius' family.
Dumbledore, Dumbledore, Dumbledore. the centre of it all, the bonfire of hope, the beacon of light, the daimon of good. Order is Dumbledore, first and foremost - not Moody, Alice, Frank, Dorcas, Marlene, Prewetts, Caradoc, James, Lily, Sirius, Remus or Peter. not any of the others. it's Albus Dumbledore and the blind, the devoted.
it doesn't fall apart until it's too late. it's only Sirius who gets a chance to notice but he promptly denies it, locked up in a cell for 12 years, carefully tucked away by Dumbledore. he trusts Dumbledore.
he trusts Dumbledore when he escapes, he trusts Dumbledore with Harry, he trusts Dumbledore when he tells Sirius to hide at Lupin's, he trusts Dumbledore when he locks Sirius up in his childhood house of terrors, he trusts Dumbledore when he assembles second Order. he joins Dumbledore, he fights with Dumbledore again, even locked up and angry, and the only time he doesn't trust Dumbledore with either Harry or himself he goes, and fights for Harry, and dies.
others are dead, or tortured, or new, or Remus. Remus who is the blindest and the most devoted. Remus who owes Dumbledore, believes that he owes Dumbledore everything and more. the new don't know any better yet, but Remus does and ignores it. he trusts Dumbledore. trusts him with Harry, and with Sirius, and with himself.
Remus joins Dumbledore, fights with Dumbledore again. sees Dumbledore destroy Sirius - looks the other way, sees Dumbledore destroy himself - deifies him even more in his death, sees Dumbledore's ghost destroy Harry - wants to join him to be destroyed too. because there's nothing left - Dumbledore gifted him his heart at 11, and it died piece by piece in the span of 16 years, and then Dumbledore dies himself, and he can't gift Remus another heart, another life. so Remus blinds himself some more, fights with Dumbledore's ghost and dies. probably for Dumbledore too.
and if all of that can happen when a small group of people simply trusts one mortal man, it's going to take a lot more than a wayward thought in one of those devoted heads to see the cracks. it's going to take a lot of thoughts, a lot of heads, a lot of cracks. a lot of discussions and a fair share of arm-twisting and change of faith. it surely must be a group effort in one way or another, preferably with the help of those who aren't as devoted. if there are any.
because as lovely and as gratifying as it is to read about Remus or Sirius or even Minerva blowing up at Albus - if you don't write them getting to that point after deconstructing their prior canon beliefs... then those characters aren't really Remus, Sirius or Minerva. especially not Remus who was always the most devoted of them all.

The 4th and final guard of the House of Hypnos! Lethe, the Underworld river/daimon/goddess of forgetfulness and oblivion. Daughter of Eris, making Hypnos her maternal uncle, but they're more like twins and (familial) soulmates.
Like Hesychia, she's mute. But while Hesychia still communicates through writing and signing (and gestures), Lethe communicates solely through projecting forgotten memories of mortals to the person she's talking to. She's a mischievous spirit who will steal any memories given the chance and keeps them as treasured collections.

Making head canons for my fav afk arena family: Gavus, Eugene, Lucilla, and Liberta
Why? Bc we need more content
Some of the headcanons are inspired by ao3 fics
Psst! Lilith, you can make so much money with this
They went to a different place to rebuild their home instead of going back to their old house in the dark forest in case the other celestials & hypogeans tried to separate them again. They were thinking of moving to the oak inn, but there were some celestials/hypogeans living there, so that plan was scratched.
During the mid-winter festival, the couples game, Eugene used this as an opportunity to confess to Gavus but failed to tell afterwards
For their new house, the twins wanted to do the work while their dads took the time to catch up. In the end, the four of them work together and completed their new house
The twins question their dads, which one was the oldest one. Gavus told them that they were "born" on the same day, while Eugen suggested the twins should do rock-paper-scissor.
Their new house seems small, but when you enter, it's a lot bigger than you expect. The location is unknown.
Eugene is the dad who does the crafting. One of Eugene's crafts for furniture was Gavus couch, the twins bed, a walk-in closet, and lastly, the kitchen table. The rest was bought
Liberta picked a hobby of baking, and Lucilla picked up sports
When it comes to going out as a family, either they tag along with others (Thane and Baden) or stay at home. Gavus and Eugene did teach the twins of self-defense in case they're in big danger.
If there was modern technology like ours, the family would do game night. Such as Let's Dance, Mario Party, Mario Kart, and other competitive games. Gavus and Eugene would have one of those couple fights.
"Pigeonhead! You threw another blue shell at me!"
"And I'll do it again."
"Liberta, let's team up. I got the banna peals ready.
"I got my red shells ready too!"
Back when the twins were children, Gavus and Eugene would take turns to sing them a lullaby. Gavus was surprised by how well Eugene could sing well and almost flustered, which Eugene caught him. 🤨📸
"My my~ Was that a blush I see, Gavus~"
"One word out of your mouth, then you're sleeping on the floor."
How Gavus and Eugene started having feelings for each other was different. Gavus fully started trusting Eugene more even if he's a hypogean. With Eugene, he was touch starve (given the video clip on YouTube), so he misses Gavus warm affection.
That one time when the twins got themselves in big trouble: Liberta and Lucilla began to question if Gavus and Eugene may be more than just friends. So they sneak out to find Estrilla, knowing she might have the answers. And when they got back home, they saw one of the lights on.
"Do you think we're in trouble?"
"I did leave a note saying we will be back."
When they tried to sneak into the house, they saw Gavus in the living room with the lamp on while the living room was dark.
"And where have you two been in this late hour?"
"Um... we went with Daddy Eugene at the grocery store."
Right where Lucilla said that, another lamp light on, which Eugene was folding his arms while being upside down
"Oh?~ But I just went to pick up grocery in the morning, didn't I?"
I'll probably make a small fic here bc of the last headcanon I can see this happening.
Also, does anyone remember that Lilith did afk arena animations. Could Lilith do animations for this new family? They did it with the forsaken family: Shemira, Niru, and Daimon
