To anybody else it wouldve been extremely intimidating and scary to make that jump and its likely they would've sacrificed speed just because they didn't have that confidence in the car yet. And there'd be nothing wrong with that, thats just normal. Well Max never did normal. Seb put it perfectly and Im pretty sure he's not the first driver to comment on this, but Max goes for moves that nobody in their right mind would even dream of attempting. Shit that takes a special type of instinct, but more than that, a complete lack of fear. And with that comes the other side of the sword, which is the recklessness. Max was a reckless driver. A lot of drivers can be reckless, especially if the car doesn't allow them to just cruise to podiums, but Max was a child. This race is so important in his curriculum because it solidifies that his recklessness is not foolishness, but necessity. Bro passed 9 cars in one lap and held off danny ric with older tires. This after a disaster quali where he finished second to last because of an engine problem. To come back from that and get a podium the way he did, its a character drive. It showed who he was and Max was the future

Mexico, 2017 here. Yeah

Austria, 2018 quali is a must watch for this one. Listening to Max educate his engineers on 'discipline' for even DARING to ask him to pass danny ric prolly makes that move to Renault less confusing. #theres something in the way that herald conforms to the /ideas/ of what men and women should be like that makes me think that-if he ever ha#a real opportunity to play around with his gender- might lead to some revelations. i think herald is so sick of being what the world tells-#-him to be and that feeling would bleed into his gender identity

i dont think herald applies his standards of man and woman to other people (or at least not intentionally) but subconsciously does so to himself, especially because theres never really been anyone challenging his internal sense of identity that could push him to start questioning it. like, even with sentinel, most of the gender talks that happened were (im assuming) centered around daniels questions/comments than anything about himself. daniel lived– and continues to live– in an extremely controlling environment that taught him to be hyper-aware of the way hes perceived, and more importantly, it taught him that he needed to be perceived in the right way. hes been told his entire life that he has to present himself correctly, that there was no room for flexibility or experimentation at the threat of his home/safety/career. but i also think that its not a role he Wants to play– i think theres rebellion and defiance simmering under the surface, but there are too many stakes involved for anything to happen.

Jake is one of the handful of survivors that are actually concerned about you. Talbot was honestly delighted to see another killer more like him in the fog. Though he could get along with like-minded individuals, he never found anyone to be an equal of sorts. And even if you’re not as interested in science as he is, the moment he saw you using your weapon as an aid just as he does he knew you were his equal.

He is surprisingly very affectionate with you. It’s still subtle, but it’s there. He often taps his cane against your weapon as a way of greeting you or saying he loves you, since the circumstances of his entrance into the fog have made it difficult for him to express himself. He’s found his ways, as always, and is content knowing he can communicate with you.

Hey, since in your BPS post you mentioned the idea of a sappy ending with a "tearful apologetic exchange," I was reminded of something really interesting - the original scrapped plot twist for the ending was basically a pathetic Eddy admitting in front of everyone his brother wasn't even real, and he made literally everything up. And the kids would feel sorry for him and it would turn into a schmaltzy "everybody hugs" scene... before they all get arrested and thrown in a police van for the damages in the cul-de-sac. This info comes straight from Mike Kubat (one of the writers), he mentioned it in one of those recent podcasts. They were actually really committed to the idea, but Danny came in halfway through the writing and told them "no, Eddy's brother is real". I just wanted to tell ya this in case you never heard about it 😅

wow thank christ they didn't go with that ending lmfao. i feel like there was way too much evidence of bro's existence to be able to pull that off. then again that could've been the REAL scam to end all scams.

there are so many ways they could have really fucked up BPS- like the alt ending you mentioned, showing the parents, having them reconcile with the kankers on screen, the list goes on. im glad they kept a lot of things relatively vague and open to interpretation.

Danny gulped again, his hands clenching to fists in his lap. He was kneeling on the ground before Aiden. Danny was starting to understand why. Aiden wanted to feel powerful. And he was. He did. Danny felt so small- so weak- god, he really was useless!!!

The silence made time pass even slower. Danny’s fingernails bit into the palm of his hands.

“You think you're so perfect, don't you?” Danny just stayed silent. He couldn’t tell if that was a rhetorical question and he didn't want to chance his luck.

“You have everyone giving you the doe eyes, completely obsessed. You haven't a damage done to your perfect face. Your hair sits perfect naturally and your form… jesus, it's perfect.”

Danny gulped, feeling Aiden’s eyes bore into him, “You're… perfect,” he snarled, glaring at Danny before he straightens up, “Come here.” 

Danny gulped but didn't delay, quickly getting to his feet and rushing over in front of Aiden who just scoffed;

“Of course… of course you’d just obey immediately.”

Danny gulped, looking to the floor before flinching at a sound he knew all too well. The flick of a switchblade. The tip of the blade pinched under his chin, slowly lifting Danny’s head up.

“Ah ah ah, Dove,” Aiden cooed, a smirk pulling at his lips, “Eyes on me.”

Tears threatened to fall down his face, his bottom lip wobbling as he tried to hold it in but he knew that in a matter of seconds they would fall. 

“So perfect,” Aiden whispered, tilting his head as he slowly dragged the blade upwards, “Almost…too perfect.. you know?” Danny’s eyebrows furrowed, when he spoke, his voice came out as a rasp, “S…sir?”

Aiden smirked, “You sound so scared already, pretty boy, do I scare you?”

Danny’s eyes widened. How in the hell was he supposed to answer that??? He was never permitted to lie, but then again… would he respond all that well to being told he was scary?

He cleared his throat quietly, eyes dipping to the floor before back to Aiden’s cold eyes. Aiden smirked, his eyebrow quirking, “Have I lost you, dove?” 

Danny clenched his jaw, “N-No sorry, sir I- Yeah- yes I a-a- I’m scared…”

Somehow, Aiden’s smirk widened, his other hand brushing over Danny’s cheekbone, snaking back to the back of his head and his fingers curling in Danny’s hair before tightening quickly. Danny yelped out, tears spilling from his eyes, only making Aiden chuckle.

“There are my beautiful tears! God, how they glisten in the moonlight.” The knife quickly wipes away a tear, Danny squeezes his eyes shut with a whimper, forcing himself not to flinch. 

“Like I said,” Aiden sighed, “Too perfect.” Aiden’s voice dropped, a cold tone which sent shivers down Danny’s spine. There was a sharp pinch under his eye and suddenly the knife slashed down Danny’s cheek. 

He cried out, flinching back which only made his wound worse. “Oh quit crying, dove, there’s no use. Danny, hold still, you're only making it worse,” Aiden growled, becoming impatient at this point. His hand tightened in Danny’s curls, making him cry out even more before stilling.

“‘M so- sorry sir,” He sobbed. God, he didn't even know what the hell he was sorry for. All he wanted was for Aiden to be happy with him. 

Aiden shoved Danny to the ground before standing, crouching down to his hunkers before cupping Danny’s cheek, “Oh dove… you look like a disgrace,” He cooed. Danny whimpered, feeling the blood drip down his face. 

Aiden’s thumb slowly brushed along Danny’s cheekbone, over the wound. The blood smeared along his skin. 

“No one will ever love you like this.”

Each word stung. Each word like a drop of lemon juice to his wound. Like a grain of salt. He couldn't even find the words to say. 

“Each drop of blood, each tear you shed-” He slowly leans in close until his lips brush against Danny’s ear, “Fucking.Disgusting.” Danny cried out, “Plea-please… I-I’mm sorry sir… di-didn't mean to dis-dissapoint,” he sobbed, his hands gripping desperately at Aiden’s shirt. Please. Forgiveness. God, forgiveness. He didn't even know what he did!

Aiden scoffed before dropping Danny to the floor once more, kicking him hard in the ribs before leaving him alone in the parlour, muttering under his breath, “Fucking pathetic.”

Danny curled in on himself, his hand cupping his face as he sobbed. He was pathetic. And now- now no one was going to love him. He was lucky he had Aiden, someone who could actually love him even for how pathetic he was.

The stinging sensation never stopped throughout the night. But Danny guessed he deserved it, a constant reminder. He was lucky…

[first caption: (italian) my fiancé is asking me if we should have a rustic-themed wedding. i told him "mio caro, if we want a good marriage, we can't use our yeehaw persona as a factor of our wedding!" he asked me if i had an input, all i said was "i haven't thought of anything yet."]

[second: person: and your wedding is in december. lester: we've hired a wedding planner, of course. whenever he's on a race or at home and i'm touring we would have a zoom meeting with our coordinator. i'm not being useless, i promise. my planner has been useful so far, and we've already come up with guests, location, entourages. it's challenging but exciting.]

[third: (italian) "your wedding is going to be amazing, from what i can hear" i hope so. danny pushed me into planning it out with him because i've told him about not wanting to impose. everything were so expensive- i still think everything's pricey. he pushed me, asking me what i want for our wedding. he didn't like it when i think about money, because apparently it's stopping me from pursuing my dreams.]

[fourth: (italian) i like to be independent and earn money on my own. but the kind of wedding that i wanted-it wasn't on my budget. when danny said "tell me what you want" all i can think about is him taking control of the matter. his budget, not mine. beggars can't be choosers.]

[fifth: he wants an answer. at first i wanted to joke, but then i remembered vividly watching a tape from the wedding of princess diana. she had this really nice dress. and she got married and she had all of these pictures in a palace. i told him, "if you don't mind, i would like to get married in a castle. be a princess for a day." he looked at me funny for thinking that he would be bothered by anything that i'm saying]

[sixth: i still feel like i'm imposing whenever i get invited to gatherings with/by his friends or family. it's like the same with (my) paddock passes- i know i've earned my place but it still feels like i'm not one of them and never will be. but the thing is: i love danny. he makes me feel like i belong somehow. and i feel like i'd be more than willing to give my body and soul to him as soon as he asks for it.]

[seventh: *sniffles* (italian) i need to stop speaking about him especially if he's not here. he's got some sort of sense when i speak about him and he'd text me (to ask) if i was chatting shit. but he's been amazing. i cannot imagine spewing out the worst things especially to/about him. those two years of being together and my six years of pining on twitter were worth it. i just hope he sees me as his equal not as a burden.]

30 Day Writing Challenge: Day 30 the final day

ESCAPING REALITY

"Let's get out of here."

DISCLAIMER: i have never made-out with anyone, kissed anyone, or been intimate with anyone ever before. i know i'm a total noob, so i sincerely apologize if this isn't spicy enough for some people, is boring, or is so virgin-coded lmfao. i also didn't go crazy, because Sam and Danny have a make-out session in "The Wolves of Woodsboro" so i didn't want to be too repetitive. anyways, enjoy ♡ or don't.

“I should get back…” Sam sighed, lying on her side with her head in Danny’s lap as she stared at the flashing pictures on the television. She blinked slowly as his hand moved over her face to brush her hair back.

“Why?” he quizzed, “You said Tara was gonna be out at her film class party until 11:00.”

She didn’t move, just gave a small shrug. “I know, but…” 

If she didn’t leave now, she wasn’t going to. With the end of the semester coming up, Tara had been out late many nights to meet up with her peers and study for finals. This left Sam lonely after work, so she’d been going over to Danny’s apartment to spend time with him. It’s not that Tara would have the time to spend time with her, even if she was home, but just not being alone in the apartment was comforting. However, Danny was always there and Sam had grown quite attached to him recently. Maybe it was her hormones spiraling from the approaching, yet notorious ‘time of the month’, but she knew what she felt and that was the desire to be near him. 

And he knew it too. “What? Are you finally trying to get away from me?” he teased and nudged her by jerking his knee a little when she didn’t respond. “Hmm?”

“No,” she chuckled and tilted her head over her shoulder to meet his blue gaze. “It’s just…” She moved onto her back, feeling him glide his fingers through her roots and along her scalp as she explained, “If I don’t leave now, then I’m never gonna leave.” Her eyes dropped.

Danny shrugged. “Who says you have to?”

Okay, he had her, but at the same time, he was playing off of his own attachment to her. Sam knew that; however, it didn’t stop the small smile that pulled her lips. “Come on, Danny, you know what I mean.”

He still played innocent, “Do I? I’m not so sure I do.” His smile, which was wider than hers, gave him away.

She then sat up and turned around to face him. She tilted her head and raised an eyebrow, “Are you really going to make me say it?”

“Oh, absolutely.”

She scoffed and shook her head, dropping her gaze to the sofa cushions as if she had to formulate the right words to say. There was silence between them for a few moments, before he called her name.

“Sam.”

Her dark eyes immediately rose to meet the calm ocean shimmering in his light ones. He tilted his head in a gesture, inviting her onto his lap, “Come here…” 

Like a dog guilty of chewing up a shoe, Carpenter ducked her head a little as she obeyed, crawling over to him and settling herself on his lap. She leaned against him, letting him guide her legs in close so he could put one arm around them, while the other supported her back. Then, he pressed a loving kiss to her temple, and oh, did that make her not want to leave even more.

Danny let his forehead rest against the side of hers for a moment. Even after all this time, she was still on edge about the amount of time she spent with him in their relationship. Maybe she was afraid that Tara would think she was being replaced, or maybe she was afraid of becoming too dependent. But she shouldn’t have to worry about those things. He knew old habits die hard, which was why he often played his cards convincing her to let go and let loose. There was no more Ghostface, no more running, no more uncertainty, and no more inability to trust. 

Yet, that wasn’t the issue. It was her own self that she didn’t trust for whatever reason.

“Have you ever heard the phrase, ‘unable to stay, unwilling to leave’?” he asked her. 

She scoffed. “You mean like the track from Titanic?”

He smirked. “It suits you pretty well.”

“Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult?”

“You choose.”

Sam rolled her eyes and looked over to have their eyes meet. “What are you trying to say?”

Her partner traced circles on the side of her thigh with his fingertips. “You claim you can’t stay here, but you dread the thought of leaving,” he explained, noting the small shade of rouge present in her cheeks, “Do you need help making a decision?” He reached his fingers father up her leg to nearly slip beneath her shorts.

She instinctively glanced down at the touch, then returned her attention as she pulled his hand away with her own. “You sound like you have something in mind…” 

And at those words, his softened smile grew back into one of certainty. “Maybe…” He watched her eyebrows raise a little as she gave a small nod that encouraged him to share. “Let’s get out of here.” She blinked at him, her captivating eyes caught in his as she looked between both irises. He shook his head. “Let’s just get out of here,” he repeated with a little more enthusiasm. He pulled her in closer, “Just for a little bit. Can we?”

But she shook her head and shyly looked away, “No.” Though, she couldn’t break her smile.

“Yeah,” he countered, holding her against him so she couldn’t escape.

“No, Danny—”

“Mm-hmm. Why not?”

By now, she was undoubtedly blushing. “Because Tara—”

“Hey,” he cut her off and gently took her chin to make her look at him. “She knows where you are.”

This was true. Tara always knew where Sam was, and Sam always knew where Tara was. If Sam wasn’t home by the time she got home, her little sister already knew that she was safe where she was. But the older Carpenter always played hard-to-get, leaving her to still avoid eye contact with her boyfriend as she remained silent.

He kissed her cheek, moving his hand from her chin to hold the side of her face. “Hmm?”

She just answered with a sigh. He kissed her again, which made her give him a warning glance that was not serious in the slightest.

This just made Danny chuckle, and he trapped her in his arms to shower her face and neck with kisses, leaning her back a little to tease her. He kept on, until she broke down into defeated giggles.

“Alright, fi-hine! You win,” she managed, cringing a little as he nuzzled her jawline. 

He gave another chuckle and pulled away from her to find her eyes blinking to stare up at him. They were now glowing in desire, and he knew she now wanted him just as much as he wanted her. “Still wanna leave?” he tested.

Samantha didn’t give him a verbal reply, just raised one arm around his neck to pull him into a proper kiss. She felt him melt into it immediately, and suddenly, the sound of the television and humming of the air conditioning was blocked out so all they knew were each other.

Not breaking contact, Brackett lowered his girlfriend down all the way to have her lay on the couch. She kept her engaging hand on the back of his neck, while he felt the other gently curl into his shoulder. He kept her wish to keep him close as he untangled himself enough to crouch on top of her. One hand gripped the edge of the cushion to straddle her in place, and he used the other to cup beneath her thigh.

They parted at the same time, Sam sighing from the duration, while Danny dipped his head to brush his nose along her cheek and into her hair.

Escaping reality was always better than existing in it.

She turned her face a little to give his jawline a couple of soft kisses, before sliding her hand away from his neck to guide him to her lips again. Her head tilted into it, a spark of a warm flame flickering in her chest. She stretched her arm down and clawed the hem of his shirt.

In response, he squeezed her thigh, his hand high enough on it to nearly catch her hind end. He could feel the lean muscle she sported slide beneath her skin, while her nails clutched his shirt, catching his bare skin. She moaned into him, which made his lust for her grow. 

She sounded very different from her normal pitch whenever she moaned. It was higher and sometimes breathy, like she was desperate for the attention, especially when he had her beneath him. He was the only one who seemed to be able to dominate her. 

Samantha Carpenter was untamable, unbreakable, and the most mysterious person anyone could ever have the pleasure of knowing. But a rugged loner like Danny Brackett managed to bring out colors in her that she didn’t show to anyone. Anyone but him…

They broke apart again to have Sam pull her partner’s shirt over his head and off of his arms. He leaned down to trail slow kisses along her collarbone, while she gently sighed into his ear, placing her own generous pecks on his shoulder. His hand slipped beneath her shirt to start easing it up towards her chest. He squeezed her side, and a low rumble took hold of her occasional noises.

There came the times when she’d growl. Danny noticed that she normally did this when she was trying to fight her own arousal—the sexual urge to initiate intercourse when it wasn’t planned. But he knew the signs. The way she turned her head, the growling, the way her skin would heat up and she would start to pant before they even got into anything, seriously. He adored it all.

He hummed as she dipped her nose into the crook of his neck, her scent the only thing he could process. He drew his hand away from her side to trail his knuckles down her exposed stomach, feeling the definition of her abs when they tensed at his delicacy.

“Mmm—” She moaned through gritted teeth as he got down to the borderline of her pelvis, “Danny…” She couldn’t hold back the instinctive buck of her hips.

Her boyfriend shushed her though, retreating his unknowingly teasing hand to encourage her top up even further. “Shhh… it’s okay, baby,” he whispered. He felt her shudder in ecstasy, to which he lifted himself to meet her gaze.

Sam swallowed. “D-did you want to?”

He calmly replied, “Only if you want to.” For a moment, he thought she might force herself to snap out of it, but then she nodded and finished pulling her shirt over her head. He smiled and combed her hair back to its initial, neat placement. Then, he lowered himself close to her face again, which made her shrink back in submission. “There we go…”

She let out the smallest giggle that was more breathless than genuine, letting him press his forehead against hers. They held each other’s eyes for a long moment, Danny’s hand holding her at the flank of her chest, while her arm held him around his waist. Then, she closed her eyes as he shut his and gently rubbed his head against hers.

Sam smiled, and when he grew still again, she stole a quick kiss off his lips. “Do you wanna lead?” she asked him.

Danny curled his thumbnail beneath the band of her bra and tugged on it. Slowly but surely, he was training her out of her old habits. As many days as he had known her, there were still things he hadn’t memorized or discovered, but if anyone asked him, that’s what made loving her fun.

He was still learning, still burning, still wanting, still all-in, and still falling.

He nodded. “Okay.”

OMFG I'M DONE!! this was my first 30 day challenge and as much fun as i had doing it, i'm so happy it's over! But I'm even more happy that i completed it (even if i started it in early september and didn't finish until the LAST DAY OF NOVEMBER sshhhhhhhh)

What fandoms do you write for? i'm an awful, awful fandom hopper :x but i write most consistently nowadays for petshop of horrors

Top five fics by kudos: 1) my dracula/barbie fic la petite mort is in first place, to the surprise of absolutely no one🤦‍♀️ 2) warrior, a post-movie shan yu/mulan oneshot 3) standing sentinel, an alien vs predator fix-it oneshot where lex goes with the predators and scar survives 4) surprising even me????? bonded, a soul eater soulmate au oneshot from 2014???? it has 8 comments total and half of them are my replies???? HOW. 5) not as surprisingly, in the woods somewhere, an ever after high cerise hood/daring charming au where daring accidentally ends up becoming the next riding hood. rare fandom/pair niche ftw!

Do you respond to comments? do you know when you reply mentally to things and then forget to actually do it irl? 😬 i have a really bad habit of opening comments on mobile, where i never type anything if i can help it, gush and draft the entire reply in my head, and then... yeah. i do eventually actually get to them all, but some will suffer through a year of no response before i pull up my sleeves and get to them. but dear gods do i try. the full answer is "yes, i do, and i absolutely love them all" but i feel very guilty about taking so long so i'll stick with "i try" 🙏🙏🙏

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? probably see you soon, a voltron legendary defender shidge fic, or songbird, a petshop of horrors angelica/p-chan oneshot with a bit of an experimental style. i think they're probably only fics i have that have a 100% unambiguously unhappy AND undeserved ending

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i usually try to aim for at least an ambiguously happy ending, so most of them? buuuuut that being said, i'm gonna point to my earlier fics in the soul eater or the yuri on ice fandoms, i was a lot sappier back in those. i've gotten a taste for a bit of a crunchier ending since then.

Do you get hate on fics? not really. i did receive hate for my voltron ships directly on the blog, but we all know how rotten that fandom was lmfao

Do you write smut? occasionally? i feel like i was in my smut-writing peak back in the soul eater fandom, but i was VERY productive in writing fic in general back in those days, and that no longer holds true. i feel like i'm a lot more self-conscious in writing smut nowadays and about how badly my writing in that genre would sound - the ideas are willing, but the flesh is weak.

Craziest crossover: i hate that my writer's block has cockblocked me from going crazier since despite wanting to write even wilder ships but. once again. my dracula/barbie fic la petite mort.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? not exactly. as far as i'm aware, no one has taken it ipsis verbis, but i have seen unauthorized and uncredited translations of my works floating around.

Have you ever had a fic translated? *side-eyes paragraph above* yep! my works seem to get podficced more than anything though

Have you ever co-written a fic before? i started writing one in my old, old days in the danny phantom fandom (hello, first fandom!), but our email exchanges petered out and it never got finished or posted anywhere

All time favorite ship? how the FUCK am i supposed to chose. my dude. why would you do this to me. it changes with the phases of the moon.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i am 97.89% made of wips. 😬😬😬 there's just. so many. the first ones that come to mind is a magicstone (magica de spell/gladstone gander from the donald duck comics) angsty-ass oneshot, and also a jane darling/peter pan fic from peter pan 2 return to neverland, both of which i only ever posted snippets for a wip ask game years ago 😭😭😭 i also very much want to finish my shan yu/mulan longfic to the victor, the spoils and i have every intention of doing it but then i look back and. it's been half a decade already. rip.

What are your writing strengths? uhhhh. i find interesting dynamics and ways of bringing characters together? i'm a rare/crack shipping bitch so i need to find a way of really selling what i'm writing so that people will read it, so i guess i've honed my skills in that direction. i also usually get comments complimenting my writing style, though my own taste for it varies wildly. i also think i'm good at adapting my own style to fit the source material one.

What are your writing weaknesses? apart from being in a semi-permanent state of writer's block and never finishing anything, you mean? where do i START. action scenes. comedy. not doing run-on overly-wordy sentences no one but me will understand. too many italics. FUCKING PLOT. why can't i write solely vibes and pining, WHY does plot have to haunt me while blowing raspberries at me for not knowing how to plan anything more complicated than a fairytale-level quest.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? english already IS another language for me 😂 that being said, i don't generally like it unless it's an untranslateable pun term or plot-relevant, in which case footnotes are appreciated. exceptions are titles/honorifics/actual names of things.

First fandom you wrote in? danny phantom, all the way back in like... 2009? it was how i learned to speak/write english beyond the basics. it was very, very bad, but i'm glad i got to go through that and experiment so wildly in such an encouraging fandom.

Favorite fic you've written? cinq d'épées, my princess and the frog dr facillier/charlotte la bouff 15k oneshot LITERALLY EVERYONE IS SLEEPING ON. why do people keep gushing on the dracula/barbie fic when that fic is RIGHT THERE with far less views than most of my other fics and way better writing quality. i honestly hate reading my own writing and even i enjoy rereading that one, villain/heroine morally grey ships my beloved.

i keep on making new sidesteps, which is fun and all but its really difficult to keep track of all of them and figure out all of their characters 💀

HOWEVER. ive been stuck in philippines with very shitty/no wifi so i got plenty of time to think about them and i think ive finally gotten a semi-solid handle on cecilia so!! it is time to inflict her on the world

ive mentioned her before but cecilia rider, in all her herbo glory, truly is the ideal of fuck around and find out. she has the highest daring out of my steps and is reckless in ways that give all my other steps heart attacks. and like ive said before, cecilia is not the type of person to regret her actions, past and present. she will keep moving forward even when it hurts. nothing demonstrates that more than her relationship with the other rangers

cecilia is a hunger scar step, and by god does she hunger. she craves human connection, to have a relationship and feel loved again. the only thing that kept her from walking to the front door of HQ after her second escape was her work as a villain– she didnt want to be distracted, not when it was something she looked forward to for years.

her first reaction to meeting ortega again was excitement. she was so happy to see him, her best friend of years, and once upon a time one of her only connections to the outside world. The old jokes, banter, smiles and hugs was something she didnt even know she wanted, but when she got it again she was desperate for more. she couldnt live without it. after that, she cared so much and so recklessly, with no concern over what would happen if she did

after ortega, she ended up befriending herald (though that rooftop kidnapping was rough, she got pissed and ended up punching him djsjjdjs). it was really smooth, actually– cecilia is just a nice person, very bubbly and kind, and she loves being around herald, his thoughts made her feel warm and cared for (even if, in her eyes, he only cared for sidestep, not cecilia). plus, shes a lupin thief. i can imagine herald and cecilia discussing and debating art with eachother in their downtime. it makes me SO sad that you can only hang out w one ranger in checkpoint 4, even if it makes sense, because i think cecilia would totally go out with him for dinner for the free food and then waylay him with an "actually, im a lesbian who's going for your ex girlfriend" when he asks her on a proper date. in my heart this and the hangout with argent happened. I accept nothing else. Anyway those two are bffs and cecilia would beat the shit out of anyone who hurts him(except herself, because she did end up beating him to high hell at the museum. sorry danny lmfao)

cecilia ended up befriending chen next. actually, she never really wanted to be friends with him. she was perfectly content leaving him as the one ranger she hated. but, well, he has a dog, so she couldnt really stay mad at him, could she?

Bless spoon for all his hard work, because cecilia wouldve never interacted with chen civilly otherwise. she discovered that she actually liked walking with chen, as weird as that was, since hes at least less of a dick now. she went to walk spoon after therapy(sorry ortega) and was pleasantly surprised to find that chens quiet, more contemplative nature did well to calm her, especially since shes just a rowdy person in general. when she found out chen was gay and jealous of her, though,,,,, well, all i can say is rip chen because cecilia would never let him live that one down. i can imagine she teases him mercilessly about getting him and ortega together. chen will never know a moments peace again

and then there is, of course, argent. cecilia didnt care much for her during rebirth, up until the gala fight, where they fought eachother for the first time. she fought her fairly in the sewers and ended up enjoying it, even though argent stole her cape. from that point on, she looked forward to their fights just as much as argent did. in the bridge, she was very pleased to know that the flirting was reciprocated, and that kiss as she was very probably about to die did wonders for her heart rate. same with getting choked in the HQ. she had ample time to stop argent before it happened btw, she was just curious and then faced the consequences of her own actions lmfao

all that said, most of it was just cecilia finding her hot. she didnt really start being drawn to argent until the casino. the regenerator was the first time cecilia saw real desperation in her, a want that made her think, for once, maybe somebody could understand her. that somebody could relate to the constant feeling of need gnawing away at her. and of course, because this is cecilia, she made the most drastic decision she could think of to confirm it– she took her chances and revealed her tattoos, and herself, to argent. she had no qualms taking the subsequent consequences, and was very happy to know that the worst she suffered was a swollen lip(one that shed use to torment ortega later on anyway)

i cant explain it very well but argent and cecilia make me so jdjjjdjkkkkdj yk. theyre so similar. theyre both so stubborn, moving on from things without a second glance, because if they didnt theyd drown in it. they dont regret (most) of their actions. and most importantly to me, they can become very soft when it comes to the people they care about. cecilia is more open about it since she has more people she trusts with that part of herself, and she extends that to argent. sure she loves to flirt and tease, but shes unabashedly honest when it comes to what she feels. she accepts most things that comes her way, and the things she doesnt she isnt afraid to speak her mind about. and maybe thats what gets her on argents couch, stealing chocolate eclairs from eachother and watching sappy 70s movies. either way, shes quite happy with where she ended up.

or, shes happy at least until the crash. her canon run is a revealed ending. all of the relationships that shes built over the past few months? gone, just like that. everything shes ever wanted, everything she got, was stripped away from her a second time, which was Not fun for her hunger scar ass. she has no idea what she'll do, and shes terrified of the farm coming to take her in. for once, she regrets everything, all her actions leading up to this moment. but what can she do? theres nothing left for her, and once the farm gets her, theres going to be less than nothing.

argent saving her is probably the best thing that ever happened to her. both because she wont have to go back to the farm, and also because its a quiet confirmation that she hasnt lost everything. That she still had people she could trust. everyone else would be a long and difficult task of mending and rebuilding. but then again, when has she ever shyed away from the long and the difficult?

Anyways... I've kinda been thinking about that time you took Kaori and me to march in the Pride Parade one year. (I think it was the year before the bird statue thing went down). You carried Kaori on your shoulders, and it was just the funniest thing bc your hair was in the way and she had to push it down to see and it was just kinda hilarious, ya know? The two of you found it funny too.

It's one of the few good memories I've gotten back. Also remember the times I'd help you with the taiyaki stand. Never trust me to do math, Matsu, I'm still bad at it. Least I didn't charge people 10,000 yen. (I absolutely do charge the salesman and old woman when playing the game though. AND THEY ACTUALLY PAY!!?? Old woman kinda makes sense, BUT THE SALESMAN?!! Anyway lmfao)

And after you and Mom learned about me being Phantom, you kinda joined Team Phantom and man it was awesome!!

But it was still really cool to be able to talk to you guys about that kinda stuff. huuuh interesting that the fake scenery from b7’s window was hellfire for deborah, but a big blue moon for ray 👀 i suppose the background changes depending on the sacrifice? this really shows that gray knows more about the sacrifices than he lets on, and he especially knows the reason why he chose them as a sacrifice…

….foreshadowing! considering everyone in this panel is dead lmfao

i dunno why but i really like this moment so much!! seeing gray take charge and make it clear to the angels that this is his experiment and they are very much apart of it….. it’s just so good

just want to say shin is so pretty??!!??!!?!?!?! we don’t talk about him enough and i think that’s a crime tbh. shin fans rise up

this is really funny and intriguing to me. the rules clearly state that all angels have to stay on their respective floors when a sacrifice is in the building, and i know eddie isn’t technically an angel here yet... but with how strict gray is, i’m kinda surprised gray appears to be fine with eddie hanging out with shin when shin is supposed to be, you know, working.

then again gray does have a soft spot for eddie, so maybe in the rules there’s a fine print beneath the “all angels need to stay on their respective floor*” rule that says “* except for eddie if he wants to hang out with shin :)”

the last panel is really really powerful to me. shin’s ghost-like appearance on the other side of the mirror, with his back to eddie… it symbolizes he’s passed onto another life without actually saying it, and despite the barrier between life and death, eddie’s words still reached shin… 🥹

(shin's ghost is also sitting, almost like he's waiting for eddie to cross over as well... perhaps he already knows of eddie's fate and wants to be there to greet eddie on the other side? ..... or maybe i'm looking way too much into this panel...)

nice foreshadowing of danny’s ultimate fate here as well 👀 pretty sure he said the exact same thing to gray in the main story when the building was going down, and that’s where he got his answer… that yes, his desires did not make him an angel, but a human. a nice little callback to the main series, despite this being the prequel!
