My final contribution to Repostober 2024 :) Loose "redraw" of this sketch that I posted last year. Scan and words below the break.

I know the phrase "rewired my brain" gets thrown around a lot in fandom but I honest-to-God think Ghost Channel really did it. If it's not THE formative thing in my taste for horror, it imprinted pretty damn hard on my little babby brain. To this day, the memory of watching it for the first time stands out as my earliest experience where I've needed to pick my jaw off the floor and then marinate for a bit.

For those not in the know, Ghost Channel is an episode late into season one of Code: Lyoko. It is freely available to watch online, but if you're even a little interested in watching it, I highly recommend watching it in sequence, despite the episodic nature of S1.

I'm sure I've mentioned it, but before I realized the importance of archiving my art I threw away virtually everything I had relating to CL >___< Later, I thought it might be fun to redraw some pillars from my childhood fandoms and this sketch happened. I've posted a few things for Repostober so far that were products of this same effort.

Reinterpreting this in 2024 was a challenge. My taste in horror hasn't changed much over the years, but the way I enjoy it definitely has. The 2009 scan reads as an in-your-face tribute to the episode (to me, at least), but these days I'm a much, MUCH bigger fan of subtlety and the power of implication. Redrawing it 1:1 bugged me a little since I didn't feel it'd meet my current standards or do the episode justice. I'm a firm believer in "less is more" so I spent a loootttt of time grappling with a good 'redraw' that 2024 me would accept while still passing as... well... a redraw xD I suppose it is still conceptually the same.

Jeremie is easily my favorite in the CL gang which definitely has nothing to do with the fact that I seem to have a proven history of latching onto the prodigal child with glasses and I've always found it crazy poetic that one of the only (or maybe the only?) big bad's true manifestations in the show is in his image. Something something thematic parallels, you love to see it >:) CL already has this habit of depicting shit that I would normally attribute to the modus operandi of a supernatural, demonic force so of COURSE I was gonna get in on this LMAO

Unfortunately, unless I find a hidden stash of old CL fanart somewhere... or enough time passes for me to draw this again... this is probably my last CL art for a while </3

On a more technical note for as much time as I gave myself for this I really popped off, especially on the background o___o Code Lyoko BG art goes super hard in general though, I don't think I would have settled for anything less. Had tons of fun with the VHS effects, learned lots of new little tricks to distort images for future projects.

I know what you meant but just the entire term "T boy swag" reminded me of my fav rapper who just goes by "T" and since I wanted to do that for a while anyway (his songtexts would resonate with Flug so much) I used this as an excuse to redraw one of his album covers, so I love that, I'm gonna steal that heheh

(relatively unrelated for everyone except me lol but I always throw in some art when replying to asks)

umm yeah so... we're not even done with the first season, so idk. from S1-B I predict more of what we've had so far; more or less episodic comedy, slowly easing us into a connected plot. 6th episode already kinda introduced that.

it's gonna be one of those cartoons like TOH who start off silly and episodic in the first season and develop into a melodramatic serialized show from 2nd season onwards.

this is going to be an unpopular opinion but I actually do not 100% vibe with that, I prefer episodic cartoons like SpongeBob or South Park without overarching plot; comedy over drama. but it was always obvious that Villainous is gonna have a fuck ton of lore so I'm not disappointed.

my criticism rn is that I feel it's already way too many characters I'm sorry. it's getting pretty convoluted. I'm just not a fan of that but again pretty subjective. I can't bring myself to care for absolutely any character that we haven't seen animated yet. it's been too long for me to throw too many new characters in the mix, I've been nonstop hyperfixated since 7 years so I'm skeptical about changes.

as for the plot, I have no idea. we're in so early that I can't even imagine where this is gonna go.

for the end I wish that no ship with the main 3 becomes canon. it's just going to create fandom wars, just leave it open

I wish for Demencia to snap out of her brainwash some day and learn about her past. I need Flug and Demencia to become real good friends and escape together with 505. I do NOT want them to become heroes but in order to find true happiness and peace they'll have to leave this place imo

but I think most of that is WAY in the future, this won't all happen in the 2nd season. but idk how long this series is gonna be, I doubt the crew even knows, so ye!

I recently watched Jennifer’s Body and my sister wanted me to draw Allison as Jennifer (Allison’s Body AU for the wip?👀)

I saw that ppl were making aftg ocs so I wanted to try sharing some of my own (y’all know I’m crazy about making ocs) I was gonna draw one or two from each of the teams (original teams and canon teams) but I only got so far

First guy is Achillesz, captain of the Fennecs (originally known as wild dogs) Eris, striker for the Ravens 2023 (I was thinking of changing her to goalie) and Marlynn, dealer for the Hyenas

I was also going to draw one of my Foxes but again, art block is killing me

My sister recently rewatched Bridgerton in preparation for the new season and she asked me to make an AU but with Milo and his future partner. She wants Milo to be Daphne so I was redrawing a scene (I can’t show the full redraw yet )

Here are some things my sister decided for the AU

- Milo is Neil’s son from a past relationship

- Neil and Andrew have multiple kids (but not as many as the Bridgertons actually do)

- Andrew died in an accident (no bee because I convinced her not to)

- Jean plays the role of Lady Danbury

- Kevin is Queen Charlotte lmao

- Milo is the diamond of the Exy season

part three of me losing my mind over the tfone storyboards because i somehow completely missed the ones zhi kang posted for optimus vs megatron and the one where the quartet were friends from the start (guest appearance ASTROTRAINNNN THE GOATTTT) and buddy i have two things to say about these storyboards: OW, FUCK? and ohhhh my god of course orion's a little bit of a geeky nerd.

i mean come on, frat boy coded though he be, it takes a certain mettle to consistently risk your life for some data records—a mettle i dub the unquenchable thirst of history nerds. he definitely knows there's a constellation out there with his name.

but back to the angsty one (obviously). MOTHERFUCKER I DID A REDRAW FOR A SCREENCAP OF MEGATRON'S EXPRESSION WHEN OPTIMUS CAME BACK WITH THE THOUGHT IN MIND OF "i wonder if megatron was briefly happy his friend returned under all those conflicted emotions before he realised that what came back was a prime" and youre telling me he was gonna call him by his fucking name? dawg. dawg im done. dawg i cant do this no more.

AND THEN TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, IN THIS STORYBOARD, AFTER MEGATRON'S DEFEAT OPTIMUS STILL OFFERS MEGATRON A HAND? OF FRIENDSHIP? OF REDEMPTION? OF A FUTURE TOGETHER? yeah that's the "i can fix him" mf i know. which hurts EVEN MORE knowing that what ended up in the final cut was optimus resigning himself to the fact he's already too far gone. daaaaaaWWWWWGGGGGGHHHHHHH.

i also REALLY LIKED the idea of the scene where megatron speaking to the people was with optimus PRESENT as opposed to when he's dead because in showing that optimus ALLOWS megatron to speak to the people and ALLOWS the people the decision of following another leader or remaining in iacon is just. so optimus ykwim. he may disagree but he won't silence it and i feel like that's the important differing factor he has as a leader compared to sentinel which megatron fails to see because he's too blinded by the title of "prime" affixed to what used to be his friend. he probably just sees optimus as just another false prime despite him literally carrying the matrix, chosen by primus himself, maybe because optimus could never live up to the expectations of what megatron once believed the core of a prime. a prime that now belongs to a past which was torn to shreds by sentinel

hi hello!

i know it’s been a while since i’ve posted anything here. it’s only been music every now and then and not much in the way of actual updates. so here’s what i got on the itinerary:

- i still need to do the final ask from the AMA. whoever that was, im sorry i havent answered it, i just have some extreme executive dysfunction when it comes to doing that and i could definitely bang that out some afternoon soon lol

- gourmand’s theme is in the works! soon after that it’s survivor and monk. planning this to be an animated series is really fun because i get to flex my musical muscles and make a soundtrack for something i love and i know many others are gonna love too. seeing the nice comments on the songs i’ve made for this AU has been pretty motivating, the only challenge is inspiration. music’s a lot of moving parts and i gotta make sure to balance them all. but i have a pretty good idea for how i want it all to sound, so… get ready for gourmand jazz in the near future.

- i’m in the process of writing what will be the first canon animated material of the series. the story centers around spearmaster and what they were doing before they got warped to the future. it’s part of a prelude project i have in mind for all the non-survivor and monk slugcats, and i’ve been doing quite a bit of mental planning for it all.

- i might do one final redesign/redraw of the ref sheet for all the slugcats. not so much as a design change thing, but more to find a method of being able to draw these characters consistently, because (and you can easily see this from the AMA) i haven’t been able to do that very well! and it helps if i have a ref that more matches my current drawing style, which is why i’ve redone my refs multiple times.

anyways, that’s all! thought you all deserved some sort of update after all this radio silence. TL;DR im working on it!

they definitely aren't comfortable with this goofy/pluto thing going on (or it's like that ducktales 2017 scene where there's the anthro ducks and regular ducks in the same place). added with how pokemon talk, and they probably think that world is horrible to be in LMAOOO

also they were not hard to draw. dusknoir was just kinda a pain. so.

I'm planning on doing a complete redraw of this (primarily to uh... make his torso NOT look weird as shit, I'm trying to make him fat but not like 100% classic eggman body style, just still fatter since I didn't want to copy the movie's skinnier body. But I don't think I portrayed it well here, but I'm still not used to the original classic proportions.), but what do you think? It's my interpretation of eggman's younger appearance before the sonic 1 game.

My idea here is that, like his film counterpart, he had a full set of hair (but he has a man bun instead, referencing the twitter takeover), but his reasoning for shaving his head and growing a full mustache is so he can resemble the man he admired, gerald robotnik.. the outfit is inspired by the films, but I tried to mix in alot of the classic designs elements just to suggest that he loves this style he puts it in most of his outfits up until his SA1-onward appearance

I like it! I like how you gave him the man bun he mentioned in the Takeover XD it looks pretty good on him. I have no issue with the idea of him getting fatter thus coming into his identity with his egg shape more over time, I think it's cool and interesting and it's far better than the idea that he was ever stick thin and was suddenly hit with an immediate drastic change in body type

I also like him growing out his stache and letting it be more free and not as styled over time, less tame and more wild like his personality as he only becomes more openly crazy, as even classic Egg observes in modern Egg in the future hehe. I also hc he shaved his head by choice, at the first sign of balding, but was also happy to look more like his grandfather. Growing out the stache does point to inspiration too

You added a much needed flair to the movie inspired outfits, they look a lot more stylish and not bland like the movie's which is much more Eggman, and I dig what you did with the third to last too. This is a believable progression of his design and definitely along the lines of what I'd like to see if the animated Sonic movie of my dreams happened and they decided to show him in the past. Good job!

I did a redraw of an old profile (self portrait) pic I made a few years ago when I was still in that 'well which is it?' phase. Even now I'm often questioning myself, re-evaluating my personhood, how I define gender. Whether I wind up genderfluid or non-binary or trans masc or just a straight up dude in the future, I need only reflect upon myself, identify myself as I see fit, recreate myself as I need, not as others expect, and my art will continue to change and grow along side me. That said.... my art style hasn't changed all that much hahahaha It's still pretty amateur and cartoonish and widely inaccurate to the basic anatomical structure of the human figure. And fuck if I care about getting it right. I just like drawing. also colors are fun. (I'm definitely going to make a version of this without the genderfluid flag. Gonna be honest, it was a wonderful support at a time when I needed it for security, but lately it doesn't seem to fit or feel right anymore. That's not a bad thing at all, it just means the more I grow into myself as a person the easier it is to recognize what no longer serves me on that journey. And that's a good kind of growth, I think.)

Ok so I’m gonna be completely honest. I’m actually really unsatisfied with this piece. Like, the color palette sucks and I didn’t really know what to do with it for a lot of this. The design for Sterling is hella janky and just does not look good. And I did pretty poorly on my linework while inking. So I’m definitely interested in redrawing this piece eventually. Hopefully I can vastly improve it. But I do plan to draw Meltyre and Sterling more in the future so that should help. As well as drawing the sisters, especially Seri. But yeah, love these characters, and I intend to draw them more because this looks like shit lol. I mean how could I not love these absolute fools? It’s Inn Between! I’ve always been a big fan of Meltyre and Sterling (whether they be separate or together) but ever since I read The Scandal of the Wizard and the Guard like a month or two ago, I’ve become a bit obsessed. And I can’t tell if that’s painfully fitting or painfully ironic considering the circumstances. Anywho, enjoy these very badly drawn makers of bad decisions.

Ok ok so I had a quick thought and I really needed opinions, I wanna do artist alley at cons as soon as I get a tax registration and actually draw all the artwork and have stuff printed and manufactured, but I've really wanted to include Ninjago in my future con lineup (I'll be doing genshin, twisted wonderland, maybe some honkai star rail, and I'll sprinkle in a few extras and popular animes) BUT I've got Ninjago art that I actually really like that I think would look good as prints or buttons, I even wanna take as many photos from the show(my personal favorite, the photo of skylor Kai has hanging up in the destiny's bounty with a heart drawing around skylor) and redraw them and make a Ninjago photo collection, and I'm definitely still gonna do it for me and maybe print out the picture as actual photos to keep but I don't know if it'll sell or if anyone would actually be interested so that leads me to the point if anyone that goes to cons and all let me know if you would be interested or think that'd be an area of interest that maybe doesn't get sold often?? Just any(honest) feedback cause I don't have a large following on any of my art social medias, so I don't think I'd be able to sell any Ninjago merch I make online since nobody would see it but idk about conventions so any(please honest, my feelings won't be hurt if you tell me not a sjngle person would be interested in buying ninjago merch)feedback would be greatly appreciated

uhm. Yeah I kinda geeked out with the idea of this au, Def gonna actually put effort into redrawing this thing later. For now his name is Ray (short for ramone) and he was in suburbs of NY w/ his family b4 everything went boom. (Gonna give him the worst trauma story ever)

What are some more horror elements for your au? Does Raoul (forgive me if it spelt it wrong) have any friends/family to worry about? How about the goverment? Radio towers and phones?

Ya everyone is definitely getting so much trauma from this even (expect for maybe Astoria but she is insane so like whatever) but raoul he's genuinely one the characters who deal with it "better" he's not in contact or on good terms with his family, but he dose have some human friends he is definitely worried about, but raoul also not properly dealing with his emtions either.

As for communication, anything in the affected area wave based communication are disrupted by whatever is causing the cyberforming and the cyberforming cuased deformation of most phone lines so it's extremely hard to get a message outside of the effected areas if their even is anywere unaffected because the character definitely don't know that at first.
