A little note on current events:

tldr: feeling big feelings, but wanted to stand in solidarity with my community (lgbtq+, POC, immigrants, witches/pagans, etc.) and friends and everyone else. The U.S. is FUCKED right now, but I'm not bending any knees to our shitty governing system and I ain't backing down for anything. I stand firm in my resolve to continue moving forward and being as much myself as I possibly can, making sure I fight so others can also continue to be as much themselves as they possibly can, and y'all have a safe space and ally in me, ALWAYS.

Things are looking rather grim in the U.S. of late. The powers that be are on the war path, in an effort to break us down and mold us into something they can abuse and take advantage of. We are currently being bombarded with so much violent information, forced censorship and such drastic, unrelenting and discriminatory change that I often feel mentally and emotionally overwhelmed. Understand... that is what they want to happen. Our government is in shambles, our communities are in battle mode. Those in power want to divide us further, to weed out the undesirables that will not stand to push their hate filled agenda and it is frightening, it's degrading, it's disgusting, but it is a clear, observable tactic. We are not sheep, we are not stupid, we are not as illiterate as they are trying to make us into. We KNOW our history, we KNOW the history of the rise and fall of other empires seeking to pull the same tactics, both ancient and contemporary. They never last, they never end well for the jerks up top, and through it all the rest of us always persevere.

We are all strong, we can and will stand up against injustice, discrimination, misogyny, hatred of any and all kinds. We have to remember, despite our torrent history, despite the atrocities our own ancestors have done to build this country, what we learned from that history, how our present has been reshaped to include EVERYONE, how we've evolved to be more empathetic, more compassionate, how we continue to strive to fix the remaining injustices and micro-aggressions that still pervade an ever evolving system and how our understanding of one another and our goals to be more than what we are now evolves right along with everything else, that isn't fake, that isn't fantasy. I am frustrated, angry, scared, sad, disheartened, pained, miserable, disgusted, just as much as the rest of you are, I'm sure. But, believe it or not, through it all, I am hopeful, I am persistent, I am encouraged and I am determined to live how I am supposed to live, free, safe, loved and respected in all forms, just as the rest of you deserve as well. Keep hope, Keep faith, if in nothing else, then at least in your community who is going to fight right beside you and support you every step of the way, through it all. I am 1 small, short, white trans dude with 20 bucks to my name and too many incomplete crochet projects to count, but my resolve is strong and I won't waver from where I stand. I will help where and when I can. Give yourself time and space to feel, remember to breathe, to drink water, to hold close your loved ones, human, furry, or otherwise, and know nobody is alone. You are all safe with me and in my space. You have an ally in me no matter what. And we will all get through this, one way or another.

I haven't done a lot of drawing in a long time and I really wanted to do an arttrade with a friend so back in October I was obliged and this was my half of the trade. Took me 2 weeks to complete due to a painful hand but it's still cute. Too bad it's super late.

I did a redraw of an old profile (self portrait) pic I made a few years ago when I was still in that 'well which is it?' phase. Even now I'm often questioning myself, re-evaluating my personhood, how I define gender. Whether I wind up genderfluid or non-binary or trans masc or just a straight up dude in the future, I need only reflect upon myself, identify myself as I see fit, recreate myself as I need, not as others expect, and my art will continue to change and grow along side me. That said.... my art style hasn't changed all that much hahahaha It's still pretty amateur and cartoonish and widely inaccurate to the basic anatomical structure of the human figure. And fuck if I care about getting it right. I just like drawing. also colors are fun. (I'm definitely going to make a version of this without the genderfluid flag. Gonna be honest, it was a wonderful support at a time when I needed it for security, but lately it doesn't seem to fit or feel right anymore. That's not a bad thing at all, it just means the more I grow into myself as a person the easier it is to recognize what no longer serves me on that journey. And that's a good kind of growth, I think.)

So I seem to have found myself wrapped up in a (new to me) fandom that I'm currently overly excited for and been collecting artwork from. I've been keeping it sparse for the time being because I like to keep the seasonal themes on my account streamlined but I just wanna give my followers (and friends) a fair heads up.... ima be reblogging a SHIT TON of Moomin art in the near future and it's gonna be pathetic and sappy and stupid and I'm gonna enjoy every moment of it, but u all may hate me for it. Hello Folks!!

Welp, most of the stuff I'd saved up for moomin reblogging has been spent!! Here you go. It's just a redesign for my internet persona that I use in place of photos. I've been switching up old designs and playing with a new outfit for the spoopy season. But it's slow going. With carpal tunnel in my drawing hand I can only work for about an hour at a time before i gotta let it rest and recover. it really kinda sucks lol I'm using FireAlpaca. It's very limited and idk how to use it tbh. I've never been taught how to use artist software before so I kinda wing it as I go.

Wishing you all a better year to come. We've dealt with a LOT this year, much of it not so pleasant. We’ve lost a lot, we’ve struggled a lot, we’ve been hurt or pushed around or neglected a lot, and we've still got a ways to go before we can get things back on track. But we are all strong, we will make it through these hard times. And I hope to be there to see it all.

Happy New Year

So I got my timing a little bit off. I’d planned on reblogging my entire collection of Encanto related stuff in December, freeing up the new year to revert back to my usual postings of ghosts, ghouls, cryptids and fandom based goodies, but eh, it’s whatevs. So what if the Encanto love runs over a bit.

To my new followers I’d like to say HELLO, HOW ARE YOU, I HOPE YOU ARE WELL. I’d also like to inform you that I am not an Encanto blog, I don’t plan on binge reblogging Encanto related content on the regular like I did for December. that was just a december thing and my reblogs of that specific content will likely begin to dwindle from this point going forward.
