Rizzo's Prop Shop, which was a gift shop near Muppet*Vision 3D, had its own lore. The story was that Rizzo took over the props area of a movie studio and was selling goods out of it. The shop was unfortunately short-lived, opening in 2001 and being rebranded in 2005.

as someone who has most of my dragon-related fandom experience in dragonriders of pern, which necessarily has a complex relationship with its author, i would like to lean on your thoughts for a question on a different dragon media.

does the eragon fandom have meta about what counts as canon? ex. from interviews, from the illustrated guidebook, and so on. does it have a history of interpretation?

im gonna be honest I was never in the Eragon fandom, I've read the books when I was too young to have internet access and now only returned to Eragon after learning that my friend has read it too, so my "fandom" is really just the two of us brainrotting about it together and posting our thoughts on tumblr

reminiscing....cant believe its been five years

maybe i am strange and unusual for this but lately after uncovering truly terrible memories about what i went through as a child my go-to coping mechanism has been, "well, i can fictionalize this somehow. i can make up a little story about something like this." anything that i struggle to talk about to other people i make up a guy who went through something similar and cope by proxy. and it does work sometimes? by making a character to put into a plot or situation that went through something i went through, i can work to untangle feelings i otherwise have a hard time addressing. due to countless layers of repression. my brain knee-jerk tries to run away from Bad Feelings, shove them down until i forget they're even there, but by playing with stories and concepts that revolve around it i can kind of work through those feelings. and by making a sympathetic character that struggles and triumphs and is loved by others, i can learn to accept and love myself through that. but this has been a life-long coping mechanism - for as long as i can remember i've been a chronic maladaptive daydreamer. making up stories to comfort myself.

I am now also balduring the gates. Only making progress little steps at a time between the plates I'm juggling, but look at this good boy. He's doing his best and bringing home as many pets as he can.

Finally, some more art! This time it’s a complete redesign for Aranea; a new concept, personality, story role, colour scheme, the works! She was originally a minor character, and while that’s still somewhat true here, I’ve specifically tied her role to the main plot via her new concept, and the reason she’s nicknamed “The Star Weaver”. Using her magic needle, she’s able to “weave” remnants of dead constellations and create glass portraits of them, which are then placed in the astral mausoleum to preserve their memory. Conceptually speaking, I wanted to combine the idea of lines connecting stars in a constellation, the connecting lines in a spider’s web, and the lines between pieces of stained glass to create Aranea’s core idea here.

The constellation for Aranea is based on the yellow sac spider, labelled as the “long-legged spider” by its original mapper, though I’ve incorporated a bit of orb weavers to match the theming too. I did leave a few hints at her previous peacock spider inspiration, primarily in her glasses and head stripes. Her glasses are meant to be like large, dark voids that conceal her expression, you never quite know what she’s thinking. This matches with her overall aloof and quiet personality, usually only speaking when absolutely necessary.

The first two months of the year are always odd ones for me, usually a lot of aimless sketching and WIPs until something gets finished (outside of commission work, of course), but I really like how this came out! It took the usual amount of workshopping and I’ve had it as a WIP for a while, but luckily it didn’t fight me as much as I thought it might.

i love living in between the gaps of spaces with little to no correlation whatsoever because i can do things like this even though it’s like risking the chances of me being seen as some kinda weirdo

anyways injecting my stoic clovely with “idol fan” serum will do her wonders (she will lose her mind upon being within the vicinity of an idol)

she can definitely contain it but it comes with consequences if she holds it in for too long (her nose starts bleeding bad)

and look i’ve had thoughts like SO many thoughts but like i’ve made two mcl posts before this one and they both got me rambling to hell and back and i want to avoid doing that a third time even though i want to really badly i have so many thoughts i wanna get out there it is MAJOR BALL SUCKAGE

for the past couple of days clovely had been feeling down in the dumps, so kentin decided to cheer her up

with the help of lysander (he offered to give him vocal lessons) and rosalya (she coordinated the look) he managed to get everything he needed for the surprise

he talked to nathaniel about a day where the gymnasium would be free after school (he’ll be there to overlook the event, but he was also curious as to what kentin was planning)

he then invited clovely, alexy, and armin (they were accompanying her as she played her mobile rhythm games) to come by at a certain time

kentin also asked lys and rosa to come, to which they both agreed

castiel was with them and decided to tag along because he “had nothing else to do” whatever that means (he noticed how lysander and kentin were spending more time together lately do with that what you will)

and so the moment arrived, and there stood kentin onstage in an entirely new outfit. music starts to play, and he begins his performance.

cue clovely’s idol fan freak out that everyone else is getting to see for the very first time

kentin is used to it

and ultimately he’s happy that all the effort he put into this worked

because his dearest friend/crush is smiling again :)

damn this briefness is actually not really brief at all but it could be worse knowing me
