whenever i get sad that i don’t have friends to worship and do rituals with, I remember that birds sing love songs into the sky everyday, and the grass dances in the wind when it blows. And the clouds blush at the sunset, and the wind whistles tunes, and the bees hum, and the deer trot. And then I remember that the river runs, and the flowers open themselves to the sun, and the bugs sleep on warm leaves. and as I walk and pray, perhaps the rabbits nibbling on shrubs are praying too, perhaps that’s why the spider spun her web so beautifully. and then I remember that I’m not worshipping alone. I never was.

Hot take, apparently, but genuinely harassing or insulting anyone's religion is not ok.
Criticizing religious institutions, proselytizing, extremism, or horrible behaviors/beliefs done in the name of a religion? YES! Totally. That should be criticized.
Unpromptedly popping up on random posts by religious folks to say anything along the lines of "god isn't real", "the pagan gods are fake", "there is only one true religion", "[any religious group] are stupid/dangerous/barbaric" -- NO.
It's rude. It's unnecessary. And sometimes, especially in the case of minorities or oppressed groups, it's outright hateful. Theres nothing helpful, funny, or cool about randomly insulting one of the most personal aspects of a persons life. Unless it's invited or warranted, stfu.

Gentle reminder to anyone who needs it that it’s okay to have doubts. It’s okay to be skeptical. It’s okay to not be sure and have second thoughts. That’s part of life
You don’t have to stick to one thing either. Branch out, but don’t spread yourself too thin. Experiment with what you like, find your passions and interests, and you’ll find your calling
The path that you’re walking now is the one you were meant to walk. Through all the good and the bad, you’ve learned lessons, went through things, and met people that helped shape who you are now

- walking back from campus
- I see a little pile of rocks by the road
- I smile and say “Khaire Hermes”
- something rustles in the tree directly above me
- a giant fucking magpie flies between two branches directly in front/overhead
- I guess he heard me.

My alter for Loki!! 🐍 🔥
I’m in a broom closet, unfortunately, due to my parents being Orthodox Christian and reeealy conservative. But I do my practice and worshipping despite all that, because paganism truly makes me feel heard and loved. Loki is the first deity to ever reach out to me, and I love Them so much
I really like the idea of sticking incenses into Rubik’s Cube, I think it fits Loki especially well😼
And i put the rest of my offering for Them in a box, cause putting all that on my table would be suspicious(

Hello! I'd love to learn more about what your priesthood training path looks like with Khonsu! What do you need to do for training and what will priesthood look like for you?
Hello! Thank you for your question. And, for me, priesthood in general would be focused on dance and singing, because singing and dancing played a major role on healing in Ancient Egypt. I will be mainly a singing and dancing priest for them.
Now, for Khonsu, I am preparing by doing a ton of research on Egypt, Kemeticism, and Khonsu in general. I am also researching the importance of art to Egypt as well as the importance of dancing and singing. I am also getting confirmations on the things I learn, and I have journals dedicated to the notes for these specific things.
Training is very personal for everyone! What training looks like can depend on your type of priesthoodship, here are some articles on some different types for you to get started. It can also be different depending on who you are studying for, for example Khonsu would be different from Ra or Aset. This is just what I’m doing for Khonsu and the type of priesthood I’m doing.
I hope this helps!

By the way, my polytheists, you are allowed to change your mind at any point.
If you learn something new about your Gods that completely flips your worldview, or discover that someone is not who you thought, or that multiple deities are actually one guy, or that the guy you thought was one guy is actually 3, that’s all okay. In fact it’s more than okay, it’s very good.
It’s okay if you realize that you’ve had the wrong idea about something. We’re supposed to be learning and changing our minds. Sometimes it can feel like we’re “wrong”, morally wrong, for having something mixed up about deities we care so much about, and that’s a terrifying feeling. But it’s all okay. Different interpretations and sources will extract different archetypes and meanings. If you discover that one of your deities serves a slightly different function than you thought, if you’ve misremembered a myth, if you just found out you’ve been pronouncing that name wrong, that’s all okay. Just like our human relationships, we learn new things about the Gods every day. You’re not wrong for learning something new, and your ignorance wasn’t wrong either. Keep learning.

sometimes the godspouse tag has those posts calling it hubris bc "a god would never _____ a human"
and god does it make me so mad and sad bc the implications behind it are so ??????
like to believe that being in a relationship with a god, be it platonic/romantic/sexual, (i never really see familial or teacher/mentor get shit on) is hubris implies that:
-humans are so lowly that the idea of a human being close to a god somehow dirties the god
-platonic relationships are the lowest tier of of relationships. those posts that are like "gods are not your friends" are always saying friends like it's a slur and it makes me so fucking mad. how do you view your friends????
-that sex is dirty, that lust is dirty, and beneath a god to experience esp with a human
-that marriage/romance is a higher tier relationship than familial, platonic, etc
like those posts almost seem to portray their gods with a sneer every fucking time. like it comes off like they think their god is handling them like a dirty dish they don't want to touch. like "sure i GUESS help you with your craft, human, but i don't want to be your friend" "i suppose i'll teach you to love yourself, human, but don't think that means i want to know you" "i'll tolerate hearing about your deepest traumas, human, but don't you dare tell me about your day"
it's sad to view your gods that way and it's maddening to see that rhetoric pushed onto others
like. i want to ask the people who post anti-godspouse posts "have you considered their god just loves them?? have you considered your god just loves you????? do you realise your god does more than tolerate you????? do you understand your god is not holding you like a bug they think is gross, they're not holding you out gingerly pinched between two fingers, they don't run away when they see you, they like you. they want to be close with you. they want to sit with you at the lunch table. they like you. they like you. they like you. okay???"
and sometimes a deity will wanna kiss you about it. and it's fine. it doesn't mean you're better than anyone else. it's just means they fucking like you. bc they don't like you because you're gods favorite princess and the most interesting girl in the world/ref. nothing changes about you when a god loves you. they love you because you are you. because of who you are now. they love you so much they feel it's safe to assume they will love you forever. that what godspousal is. it's different flavors of i love you forever except with a more formal agreement.
okay ? so chill!
tldr be normal about godspousual and be normal to godspouses bc ur god loves you and does not see you as dirt

I want to practice deitywork so badly
I want to do deitywork but I’m afraid I’ll do something wrong.
I want to do deitywork but I’m afraid I’ll jump to hasty conclusions about the meaning of things.
I want to do deitywork but I’m afraid of becoming lost.
I want to do deitywork but I’m afraid of disappointing not only the gods, but my community.
I want to do deitywork but I’m afraid I might fail to identify where in my life I need help.
I want to do deitywork but I’m afraid to come across as a burden or a bother.
I want to do deitywork.
I want to devote myself. I feel devotion in my heart and it wanders aimlessly, blinded by these fears.
I want to do deitywork. But I’m afraid.
I don’t fear the deities. I do fear their silence.
But I want so badly to listen.
