(this was all a tiktok DM convo I had with my friend 😭)
tiktok that started this ➡️ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8h6CU21/
(bkdk angst after the cut <3 it’s not formatted at all and messy cuz…dms…)
I’m going to disintegrate and die!!!/pos
I HATE playing with this concept.
Because it’s too goddamn realistic.
The fact that they are queer men has irreversibly changed their dynamic. Them being two men makes things so different and so much more complicated.
And I think it’s one of the reasons why I hate hate HATE gender bending for no reason other than “I felt like it.”
Because it takes away so much nuance. It WOULD be easier if one of them was a girl.
Bakugou would have noticed how pretty Izuku’s eyes and freckles were just a little earlier, with less of an ache in his chest. Izuku would have noticed just how /cute/ the scrunch in Katsuki’s nose when she got mad, and wouldn’t have had to deal with the overwhelming feeling of a monster gnawing at his stomach afterward.
Their is so much GUILT and almost shame intertwined in their dynamic and it makes it so important.
ITS SO IMPORTANT!!!! That trend where it’s like, “X would be fine with loving a boy if it weren’t B, and B would be fine with loving A if it wasn’t a boy.” But I think the first one applies to them much more.
it takes away so much of the complexity of their dynamic. Of having to fight past not just their past but then having to face the fear in themselves and knowing that they could very well lose family and friends over who they loved.
Despite the fact that it had always been just them, just those two. Just Kacchan and Deku.
One simple little factor of being queer and suddenly everything feels…dirtier. Holding hands is not childish anymore. Pressing together while talking isn’t the same as it was when they were 5 and huddled together under Kacchan’s dining table.
Now it has more meaning— less because they are older, and more because they are boys (not men. Never men).
So when Izuku admits to Ochako one night, under the cover of darkness and the few stars that were bright enough to break through the city smog — “Kacchan…is everything. He always has been.” — it hurts. It hurts more than he wants it too, more than he cares to admit
Ochako's eyes narrow, and he’s afraid, if only for a moment. But she puts a hand on his back, soothing.
“I know, Deku.”
And he can’t help the way his eyes well with tears, and he is filled with a shame greater than any god sent to cast him away from man.
Ochako can only watch her friend crumble and ponder how cruel it was to love so deeply and know you will never be free of the shame that comes with it. Izuku is a crier, but then, sitting next to her, he cries like a little kid. It jostles his body with tremors and leaves him breathless.
She wishes for a moment that one of them was a girl, if not only to save him from the pain that pours out of every fiber of his being.
She takes it back when the sobs become choked, Midoriya struggling to breathe. She guides him through the exercises they were taught for first aid diligently, and with his scarred palm pressed against her chest she takes it back. Because she knows when this over, when he can breathe properly and stand on his own, he will wipe his puffy eyes, hug her goodnight, and still love Katsuki with his whole being.
The boy in front of her will mourn, never knowing the lightness that comes with love but will choose to love anyway. He will choose him, time and time again, over the safety that so many others feel when they fall in love.
She can only hope they will be proven wrong one day. That they will love and feel none of the shame that had been taught. Midoriya will no longer feel guilt over never giving his mother someone to pass her old wedding dress down to, and Bakugou will not retreat into himself when he feels his body relax at the first contact between his and Midoriya’s hands.
In the meantime, she helps Izuku onto his feet and up to his dorm, even though hers is two floors down and on the opposite side. He hugs her goodnight, body pliant when she pushes him into bed and leaves him to sleep off the migraine he had most certainly developed.
When she succumbs to sleep in her own bed, she will let go of his shame and leave him to bear it on his own once again, and Ochako will have to live with the fact that she will never be able to take it from either of them no matter how much she wanted to.
She will resign herself to watching them love in secret and in pain. and deal with her own shame, for not being able to save them. When their friends tease the boys she will laugh and remind them gently that they’ve always been like that, even before UA. And though they are surrounded by gentle smiles and teasing laughter, she and a select few will know they are wallowing in an amount of shame none of them could ever truly fathom.
Because they were both boys. What a cruel fate.

note —
This is all to say I don’t hate genderbends completely. They’re for fun, just like any other AU. It just feels like sometimes it’s used as a bit of an easy solution for so much of the tension between bkdk.
or maybe im dumb. that too. :p
regardless, i cant ever escape the bkdk angst that runs through my veins ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (snuck in bestfriend!ochako cuz she is important to me regardless of whether or not she's connected to these two lol) (this also sorta ignores the universes where the MHA/BNHA timeline has kind of mostly moved past homophobia in the way we are used to seeing IRL.)
okok im done with notes BYEEEEE <3333

I see requests are open 🥺👉👈 deku pegging fic please ???
Funny thing actually, I’ve never written something like this until now but I hope I met your expectations :)
-
“‘Zuku, you have to stop moving,” you cooed in your boyfriend's ear from behind.
Izuku had been on all fours, knees spread a little farther than shoulder-width apart and you had been behind him attempting to get any movement with the pretty pink strap. Except he would not. stop. moving.
“It’s not the most comfortable position,” he argued through gritted teeth at the new sensation.
“You’ll be fine,” you reassured him while pulling your hips back before snapping them forward, keeping both of your hands on his muscular hips. The sudden thrust caused him to jerk forward and let out a deep moan.
“See? What’d I tell you,” you were moving your hips at an agonizingly slow pace but comfortable enough for Izuku to get used to for now. “You’re fine.”
“Feels good,” he whispered out.
“What was that?” you leaned forward, you couldn’t hear him, but as you moved forward you pushed the prop further into his ass, eliciting a whinier moan from his mouth.
“Hmm, said it feels good.”
“Does it?” you began kissing around his shoulder and neck, even lightly biting him a few times.
“Mhm, s-so good,” he lowered his upper half down onto the mattress, his arms were rested by his head while you slowly pounded into him.
But that wasn’t enough for you.
You grabbed both of his wrists and pulled them behind his back, he only lazily looked back at you with a look of concern mixed with pleasure before you started speeding up, his eyes and mouth instantly widening.
“What are yo~ngh, you doing?” he managed to pant out, his curls bouncing with each thrust you gave him, well at least the ones that weren’t stuck to his sweaty forehead. It was truly mesmerizing.
That and the way his eyes began to water.
“What?” you huffed, you were no longer leaning forward but were now holding his wrists down onto his mid-lower back as you pushed his knees farther apart with yours.
“You fuck me like this all the time, what’s wrong with me wanting to return the favor?”you teased.
“Nngh-n-nothing,” he stuttered. But that was all he could do. Whimper and moan out pathetic and adorable nothings that made you wanna test the limits of how far you could take him before he broke.
“D-don’t, st~ahh, stop, p-please don’t”
“F-faster, ngh~ please-”
“There, there, there, there! M-mommy please, t-there, hah”
“Where, baby?” you asked, continuing to drill into him but snaking a hand forwards and around his neck, squeezing the sides as you pulled him up and off the mattress. You hadn't noticed he had begun drooling onto the sheets. Fuck.
But Izuku continued to moan, completely ignoring your question.
“I asked where, ‘zuku?” the hand around his neck tightening its grip.
“Or are you too fucked out to answer Mommy now? Huh?” you huffed into the curve of his neck.
“Mm, mhm,” he tried to nod, but not getting too far with your hand keeping him in place.
“S-so good, wanna cum, pleaseee m-mommy,”
“Who do you belong to, baby?” you loosened your grip on his neck.
“Y-you, wanna cum- ahh,” you cut him off when you thrusted into him as deep as you could, drawing out a lower moan from his lips.
“Nuh-uh, try that again baby”
“T-to mommyy hah~”
“What was that?” You slowed your pace to as slow as it had been when you started.
“To mommy! P-please fuck me, wanna cum for you- FUCK” his pleads were cut off with quick and harsh thrusts, his orgasm was the only goal you had in mind at this point.
“I belong to mommy, I belong to mommy, to mommy, mommy, m-mommy, p-please oh fuck fuckfuckfuck”
“It’s okay, baby, you can cum” you whispered into his already sensitive ear and squeezed his throat, increasing the pleasure and sending him farther into his fucked out state.
He managed to stutter out a quiet ‘thank you’ letting out a slur of whines and moans and sloppily rutting into the sheets as he came while you were still buried into him from behind.

A few shinkami headcannons because I love them more than anything
Shinsou has a growth spurt and practically towers over Denki by their second year (for all intents and purposes, Shinsou has always been in class 1A)
Denki grows a little bit but not that much, he’s not complaining though, he gets Shinsou to grab stuff on the top shelve for him or has him hang up posters in higher places in his room (the only downside is that he has to get on his tippy toes for kisses but usually Shinsou will just bend down like a good boyfriend)
They go on dates every Sunday, It’s their day and it doesn’t matter what they’re doing as long as it’s just the two of them
They could be studying or doing homework or exercising or anything really and they’ll call it a date
The rest of the class knows better than to try and contact either boy on Sunday
“Normies worship Jesus on Sunday but I worship Shinsou” - Denki, at one point in time
Shinsou loves playing with denki’s hair, he buys different kinds of hair clips just to put them in denki’s hair
he just likes how the colors pop out
He especially likes to see purple hair clips in denki’s hair
Tbh it doesn’t have to be hair clips, it could be a scrunchie or a rubber band or a headband; as long as it’s purple it does wonders to shinsou’s heart
Denki likes playing with shinsou’s hair too but more than that he likes seeing Shinsou in yellow clothing
Shinsou doesn’t wear bright colors a lot usually sticking with black or cool tone colors
But when he does wear yellow, Denki just gets all mushy no matter how small it is
It could be yellow earrings or socks or something and Denki will wear a love sick expression all day
Despite being in the hero course, Shinsou still gets incredibly insecure about his quirk and how some people only see him as a villain
Denki, without fail or hesitation, tells Shinsou what a great hero he’s gonna be, he talks about how Shinsou is gonna inspire a new wave of underground heroes and how he’s gonna be some kid’s Aizawa one day and how proud he is of him (The first time he said that, it makes Shinsou sob. It makes denki cry too bc he’s a sympathetic crier so they just lay in bed holding eachother)
He also tells Shinsou how no matter who’s the number one hero, Shinsou will always have first place in his heart. And that Shinsou is just as much as any other hero out there and even a little more because he’ll be underground
Denki just loves his boyfriend so much and whoever planted the idea that some quirks are just made for evil is going to get electrocuted >:(
Denki will also pepper Shinsou in kisses saying things like ‘you are so kind’ ‘you’re an amazing person’ ‘I love you so much’ ‘You’re my hero’ and just a bunch of stuff so by the end of their heart to heart Shinsou is feeling a lot better
Denki gets insecure about how ‘dumb’ he is and how he’ll probably just end up hurting civilians or himself before he hurts a villain
Shinsou hates how that’s how Denki views himself because Denki is one of the kindest people in the world and doesn’t even realize it like the first time Denki told him that insecurity, Shinsou looked at him and was like ‘are you..you’re serious? Denks, You’re one of the most clever people I know’
Whenever Denki mentions it, Shinsou he just squeezes the blonde and lets him cry out his frustrations before telling him that ‘he’s not an idiot or stupid and that it’s okay not to understand something as fast as others and that it’s okay to learn differently and it’s okay’ (Shinsou will always try not to cry but a few tears fall anyways bc he just wants denks to be happy without feeling like he’s a fuckup)
Shinsou never lets Denki call himself an idiot or stupid, even in a joking way.
They don’t fight a lot because of their personalities like
Denki is a people’s person and is really in tune with other’s emotions and by default is a pacifist unless otherwise
Shinsou isn’t a people’s person but he’s observant due to his quirk bc of how he’s been treated in the past, he’s also good at picking up on people’s body language
Most times it’s just small disagreements and even then they communicate the best they can and try to compromise
If that doesn’t work then they’ll give each other space so the disagreement won’t turn into something ugly
They’ve only fought once and it was the worst (and best) thing for them
The fight happened after a mock rescue mission goes wrong and there were weeks of stress and tension leading up to it
It was messy and bad like really bad
“I just don’t get why you have to run into danger!” Denki screamed. The whole dorm could probably hear them but he didn’t care, not when his boyfriend was looking at him like he just lost his mind.
It was supposed to be a simple training exercise. Simple. Go in, defeat villains, rescue the ‘hostages’. It was not that simple.
*insert how badly the mission went and Shinsou ran towards the danger to help or smth idk*
It gets pretty rough between the two of them because they’re both pretty emotional people
Shinsou thinks denki doesn’t want him to be a hero and denki thinks Shinsou doesn’t want to be with him
It’s a lot of insecurities + stress + yelling
Denki is the first one to break, he’s a lot more emotionally sensitive than Toshi and everything is just crashing down and he hates it
“Do you just not want to be with me?!” He cries, unable to keep the tears at bay any more. He hates arguing with people, especially when that person happens to be his boyfriend. He gets it, he does! Toshi is training to become a hero and so is he but that doesn’t make it easier. Doesnt stop the shot of fear whenever he watches the other get hurt, doesn’t stop the late night self deprecation, doesn’t stop the anxiety he gets whenever he sees Toshi run head first into danger.
But he gets it and somehow it’s a bitter realization.
Because Hitoshi’s priority is the job they signed up for and Denki’s is Hitoshi.
The fight ends with tears on both their parts and they call it a night, too tired to scream anymore
They sleep in their own rooms that night
The next morning they agree to take a break, not a full break up, but some time away. Space away from each other to prioritize and think.
(Now ive seen fanfics where everyone picks denki over Shinsou and i hate that so fuck you, class 1A are both their friends and they’re all family and try and to help each other I will die with that statement)
Surprisingly the two most helpful people are Bakugou and Kirishima
(Actually not that surprising, they’re the longest couple in the whole class, dating immediately after Kamino)
Bakugou and denki have a heart to heart
“You’re both dumbasses” Katsuki sighs heavy, passing another tissue over to the sobbing blonde. He’s not good at these kinds of things, but Kirishima told him he could help the electric blonde more than he could so here he is. “You gonna tell me what’s wrong or just cry?” He asks, not without a hint of worry though. He pretends to ignore it.
So denki tells him everything and his insecurities
Oh. Yeah, Kirishima was right.
“You think I’m an idiot” Denki mutters quietly, harshly rubbing his eyes.
“No” The older blonde shakes his head, plopping down on the bed next to the other. He doesn’t turn to meet yellow eyes, his own trained on the All Might poster hanging directly across from them. He feels Pikachu’s curious gaze on him so he decides to elaborate more, knowing the sooner he helps the sooner he doesn’t have to deal with this anymore. It’s totally not because he’s gotten soft. Absolutely not.
“Trust me, Zombie Eyes looks at you like you put the fucking stars in the sky. It’s disgusting to watch.” He crinkles his nose in disgust earning a small laugh. “People like him and I, we gotta work twice as hard. Not saying that no one else does but it’s different.” He stresses the last word. “People like Ei or Deku or even you, people already see you as good so all you gotta do is get stronger. They don’t question your character, your morals, they don’t look down on you for having a weakness. People like Zombie Eyes and I though?we gotta work hard just to prove that we’re good. That we were meant to become heroes. Every action we do is put under a microscope and analyzed.” He explains.
“We’re assholes by default, It’s how we were raised. Not saying it as an excuse though. He was in the shitty system and I had shitty parents, no adult taught us shit like love or how to properly deal with feelings.”
Stupid Deku tried with him but he didn’t even know how to deal with his own much less some angry blond kid’s.
He takes a deep breath, pushing back faint memories of his childhood. The younger hasn’t said a word but he can tell he’s listening so it’s fine. “We can’t just turn off how we are. If it’s frustrating for you and Ei, It’s worse for us. Like we know logically that we’re good people, that we changed but that’s now how our brain sees it. We push ourselves because that’s all we know how to do, it proves to us and everyone else that we bled for our spot here. That we made it. Having friends is hard because we compare ourselves to them and draw our own conclusions to their actions. Being nice? Our brain says it’s a trap. Showing some human fucking decency? Our shitty brain says it’s an act. Being in a relationship? Laughable. We’re just villains pretending to play heroes to everyone else.”
He takes another deep breath, forcing himself to look away from the poster, flashbacks to their first year briefly passing in his head. Okay yeah, not going down that route. He looks over, making eye contact. He wonders if this is how Kirishima feels whenever he’s trying to cheer him up. Wonders if it’s just as hard. This better be worth it, everyone has been miserable. (Shitty thing about having been through life and death situations together is that everyone has bonded and become close like a family so when one of them is sad it’s like everyone is fucking sad.) (He loathes it because even he gets worried.)
“But despite that he still loves you.” He says softly, almost whispering like he’s telling the other a secret. “Fights his demons to hold your hand and all that shit”
Shinsou loves him? Loves him?
“How do you.. how do you know?” Denki whispers, throat sore. “We fought so badly last night, we were screaming at eachother.”
“He treats you the same way I treat Ei.” He answers,
“He changed his priorities around to try and accommodate for another person in his life, you became more important than training or studying. He takes days off to be with you, cuts his studying short if you need a break. It might not seem much to others but for him that’s huge. He came in with this one track mind but then you came along and he scrambled to balance everything. And then you two got your shit together and started to go out and I’m pretty sure he got scared”
“Scared?” Denki asks, the thought almost funny to him.
“I did.” Bakugou admits as Denki’s eyes grow wide.
“I was petrified. When Ei started to become more important than hero work, I freaked. It’s not that loverboy is choosing being a hero over you, It’s because he doesn’t understand that he can have both. He thinks everything important is a choice- that if you want something you have to give something up. He chooses hero work and he loses you. He chooses you and he loses hero work.”
“But he’s not going to lose me or hero work”
“Kinda sounded like you did give him an ultimatum though”
The realization hits him like cold water.
Shinsou gets a similar talk with Kirishima
It helps, a lot
They don’t immediately go back to eachother, instead spending the week with their everyone else and just taking time for themselves
Shinsou knocks on Denki’s door Sunday morning and they finally talk things out
It’s also the first time they say ily!!
Anyways after that fight they work harder on communicating especially when it comes to things like hero work
It’s not perfect bc their dumb traumatized teens but they’re trying and they know their lil family will always be there
I haven’t slept but yes thanks for sticking around if you’re reading this
If ur interested in shinsou’s talk with Kirishima lmk

You've Got a Friend in Me (You've Got Troubles. I've Got 'em too.) (A Bakudeku Tropetember Fic)
Another Tropetember thingy (this one is a little late though...oops). I classify this one as a fic because it surpassed 1K. This one is for day eight:  5+1 / 3+1 (Five Times + One Time). AO3 link is here. It’s slightly angsty...so beware of feels.
tw: use of the f slur, homophobia, unsupportive parents, bullying
(1.)
“You’ll always be nothing but some dumbass, lightning-bolt faggot! You should just pack up and quit the hero course now. You’re too stupid to ever make it further than some lowly sidekick position,” the boy finished his abuse before dissolving into obnoxious laughter.
Said boy was one of Denki’s middle school classmates. Denki had accidentally run into him because he was texting Eijirou. The boy had looked over his shoulder and seen Eiji’s name (along with a heart) and started making fun of him for being “a faggot”. Denki knew he shouldn’t take what some asshole said to heart, but the things that he said reminded Denki of other times when he had been put down similarly. Lots of people seemed to think he was an incompetent dumbass who could never do anything right unless he had help, and, while sure, he was a little slow in academics...he definitely had other skill sets that made him a kick-ass hero! That didn’t mean that it was easy to convince himself of that.
“Denki-kun! Hi!” a voice broke Denki out of his spiral.
Denki turned toward the voice and, low and behold, it was Izu-kun. Denki gave Izuku a weak smile and a wave as he stood tensely next to the bully.
“Denki! Who’s this? A friend?” Izuku asked as he walked up to the two. His voice sounded dangerous, and Denki could hear the “or foe?” that came after his words. At 17, Class 3-A knew that Izuku was dangerously protective of his friends, and they all did their best not to provoke his fury in any way. Because a feral Izuku was terrifying.
The bully didn’t know this though, and he simply laughed before “greeting” Izuku, “Ah, guess we’ve got another faggot. Or did you not know that Lightning Dolt here was a twink?”
Izuku’s aura darkened several degrees at the boy's statement but still he shot the boy a bright (but fake) smile, “I’ll give you three seconds to run before I fucking destroy you.”
The boy’s face dropped and he blinked, “Uhhh...what?”
 Izuku continued to smile, “One.”
The boy’s eyes widened in panic, “Wait, man!”
 “Two.”
The boy started running, “We can talk about this!”
“Three,” Izuku immediately gave chase—or he would have if Denki hadn’t given him a small shock and held him back. Izuku struggled for a second before sighing and turning to Denki, “Denki-kun, you are more than just a brainless idiot and more than just a...a...you know. You’re amazing and talented in your own right and I’m proud to call you my friend.”
Denki blinked in surprise before blushing lightly, “Thanks, Izu. I really appreciate it.” He smiled genuinely at Izuku.
 (2.)
“You don’t know what you’re talking about, Momo,” the dark-haired woman stared harshly down at her daughter, “You may feel like this now, but one day you’ll find a nice, upstanding gentleman that captures your heart. Not some...punk-rock freak-girl.”
Momo stared down at her feet and sighed softly before replying, “Yes, mother.”
However, as she turned to make her way into the dorms, and her mother turned to meet with the chauffeur, she heard a very familiar voice. “Excuse me, ma’am! Yaoyorozu-san! May I have a word with you?” Momo turned to see Izuku-kun coming down the dorm steps and speed walking down the lawn to meet with the two women. He had a slightly dangerous aura (someone outside of Class A wouldn’t even notice), but Momo stood rigid as her friend stood up to her mother, “Yaoyorozu-san. I think you should consider taking your daughter more seriously.
“You might not know me well personally, but Yaomomo-chan and I know each other very well and I would consider us good friends. She’s smart, resourceful, and talented, and I think we can both agree that she will make a fantastic hero. But Yaomomo-chan is also responsible and mature, definitely mature enough to make her own decisions about her relationship choices.
“My own mother is very protective of me too, but I think that part of being a parent means accepting and supporting children through their choices and the consequences of those choices (good or bad), even if they aren’t choices that you, yourself, would make. I hope that you can come to respect Yaomomo-chan’s decisions about her own future, and find comfort in the fact that I, and everyone else in Class A, will always offer her our full support. Thank you for your time.” Izuku bowed politely before turning to Momo. “Kacchan made dinner. You should come eat it before it gets cold,” he smiled before heading back inside.
Momo’s mother looked surprised for a second before saying a quick goodbye and hurrying away. Momo smiled after her before whispering under her breath, “You are a marvelous friend, Izuku-kun.”
 (3.)
Hanta was in a rush to get to class. Usually he was pretty punctual, but today he missed his alarm so he wasn’t feeling the best. Anxious and rushed, he accidentally ran into the worst person reasonably possible.
“Ahah, if it isn’t the plain-faced tape dispenser from Class A!” Monoma laughed, “Late to class, I see! Tsk, tsk, yet another reason Class B is superior! At the very least we’re punctual!”
Hanta deadpanned at the slate-eyed boy, “You know you’re late too, right?”
Monoma’s jaw dropped for a second before he regained his composure. He huffed and took another angle, “Well, at least I have a personality! You’re so boring that it’s a wonder anyone pays attention to you at all. You’re almost more invisible than the invisible girl in your class! Not to mention that you’ll probably never get a girlfriend, hah!”
Hanta rolled his eyes, despite the pang in his heart, before maneuvering himself to speed-walk past Monoma. “I’m literally dating Shou. It’s been the hot gossip for the past few days, and you’re definitely shallow enough to keep up with the gossip mill.”
Monoma guffawed, “How did a plain-faced peasant like you end up with someone as high class as Todoroki? It’s a wonder, isn’t it? But, of course, I’m sure you’ve been hearing that for the past few days, haven’t you?”
Hanta knew that he shouldn’t take anything that Monoma says seriously, but he’d been hearing how “unworthy” he was of Shouto for the past few days (since their relationship became public knowledge). The scathing words got to him and it made him doubt himself a little. He sped off towards his classroom, ignoring Monoma’s jeers in the background.
That day, during a joint training session, Izuku requested to be paired with Monoma...and maybe Izuku went a little harder than he usually did. Maybe Monoma ended up in the infirmary before class ended, but it was training so Izuku couldn’t really be blamed for accidentally injuring his classmate, could he?
Hanta smiled as he now had an explanation for the flash of green he swore he saw out of the corner of his eye as he was rushing to class after the encounter.
 (+1.)
Katsuki slapped Deku on the back after training. “What the fuck was that, nerd?! You fucking beat the hell outta the Copycat Freak! Why can’t you ever go that hard when we train?”
Deku’s face flushed as he turned a blinding smile at Katsuki. Cute. Katsuki shook himself from his thoughts as Deku started talking to him. “I guess I just got really into the exercise, Kacchan!”
Katsuki could tell that Izuku’s words weren’t the whole truth but he decided to gloss over it for now in favor of focusing on a topic that had been bugging him. “You’ve been spending a lot of time with Mochi Head lately. Skimping on our training. Any specific reason, Deku?”
Katsuki watched as Deku’s face flushed again, but this time it made a pit grow in his stomach. The pit grew as Deku stumbled over his words for a few minutes before answering, “We’ve just been helping each other study, Kacchan.”
“You’re fucking lying, stupid Deku,” Katsuki scoffed as his heart started cracking, tiny pieces falling into the void. “But it’s fucking fine. If you’d rather waste time with your girlfriend like a dumbass then I’ll take the number one spot all the more easily,” he said, but the words felt ashy in his mouth, empty and non-fulfilling.
He started walking away when there was a sharp tug on his wrist. “Kacchan!” It was Deku. It was always Deku. Katsuki stopped trying to pull away, but he didn’t turn around yet. “I love you! No one else! Ochako-chan has just been helping me work through my feelings for you! She has feelings for someone else!” Katsuki turned sharply to see Deku staring intensely at him. “You are my symbol of victory. My hero. My Kacchan. It’s only ever been you, so please. Please allow me to stand by your side!”
Katsuki sniffled before completely breaking down in tears from the emotional taxation of the last few minutes. Being the empathetic crier he is, Deku broke down with him and they held each other and sobbed. After a couple more minutes, Katsuki had pulled himself together enough to respond, “Y-yeah, dumb Deku. Keep your eyes on me.”
Katsuki stood and extended a hand to Izuku to help him up. Izuku stared at him fondly for a split second before taking his offer. They walked back to the dorms side-by-side and hand-in-hand.

Puppy Love (Part 1)
Bakugou x fem!reader
The very long first part on my headcanon on the story of Bakugou’s crush on you and your crush on him
If you wanna be tagged in part 2, just send an ask!
Class 1A went out to go eat soba and your ass got slapped by some pervert
And before anyone could process what had happened, you punched the dude and handed his ass to him
Also went off with a bunch of profanities while you did it
“You greasy motherfucker, you think it’s fine to just do that! You want me to make you a human knot?! Shove your head so far up your ass that it tries to come out through your throat!”
Iida and Deku went to go pry you off the sleazebag as soon as they realized what was happening
Momo was the only smart one cause she called the cops
Mineta got creepily horny, but it can’t be helped cause Bakugo kinda did too
He thought you were some soft weirdo that occasionally scarfed down dozens of Takoyaki balls
Why was he now noticing that you really liked takoyaki?
Anyway, he felt weird and couldn’t do anything
He was looking at you like when everyone was planning how to protect him during the training camp arc
He hadn’t known anyone else in the class to get that angry
Everyonce except him, Kaminari, Kiri, and Todoroki knew you could get that fired up, because they saw how you got when everyone went after UA at the hero licensing exam
Once the cops got there, they believed you guys as the good young pro-heroes in training you are and took everyone’s statements
It was all pretty fast and you guys were headed back to U.A in no time.
Kiri as the gentleman he is, was the first to ask you if you were fine seeing as you still looked very angry
Deadass went (๑・`▱´・๑) “Yes!” and started crying
You’re an angry crier
Everyone was very concerned, especially when you raised your fists to dry your eyes and the sleeves to your pink hoodie fell back
Your knuckles were bleeding lmao
Bakugo found it oddly cute and he hated it
He shoved past you
“Tch. If you’re going to hand someone’s ass over to them, don’t cry like a pussy after!”
“Thing is, I am a pussy!” You sobbed
“Fuck that guy! I wanted to get coconut ice cream after the soba and he ruined my mood!”
He turned around just a bit and saw your angry pout. Mans said the first thing that popped into his head.
“Then we’ll go get you your damn coconut ice cream! Stop crying dumbass!
“Shut up! It’s coming out of annoyance from you! I only like my food coming out of love!”
〴⋋_⋌〵
I love these emojis too much
Meanwhile Momo made you some bandages and wrapped it on your fists as y’all walked back
When you guys got back. You didn’t feel like going to Recovery Girl and instead insisted on watching a movie
You felt better now and even flaunted the bandages on your knuckles for a bit
Bakugo ofc seeing as it was past eight, didn’t join you guys and thought about how annoying you were
Always making so much fucking noise with shitty hair and dunce face
The next day he found you studying by yourself at one of the dining tables
You were just minding your own business, listening to some cute ass beats
And the moment you felt someone there and saw him, you smiled softly
“Hey, Bakugo.”
And went back to studying
His heart went :D
What the hell
You know what
He’s mad now. He’s not going to ask about your fists no matter how much he wants to
He went to serve himself some water and heard you cough once while he filled his glass
Next thing you know, he slams a glass of water in front of you before walking back to the elevator as he mutters to himself like the angry lunatic he is
“Thanks?”
Now let me be frank
You never had a full blown crush on Bakugou
But you did acknowledge he wouldn’t be bad to go out with
This was how you thought of Iida, Midoriya, Todoroki, Kiri, you know
You found it funny when he got mad most of the time
Let me explain
Everyone was eating dinner and the topic of your perv ass whopping was mentioned
“Y/N gets angry like Bakugou.” Todoroki slurped more soba
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT HALF ‘N HALF BASTARD!”
This type of interaction was common and it was always harmless seeing as you always got a kick out of it
“LMAO I LOVE BAKUGOU.” You laughed
“WHAT?!” He was looking at you like you were crazy
You were mid bite through some of your steak with wide eyes
“Um Bakubro? Y/n always says that every time you get mad.” Kirishima broke to him
“I love my friends?” You raised your shoulders up in defense
“Tch.”
Then the next week Kirishima dragged out Bakugo to the store to buy some weights
While they were out, you were chilling on the couch watching a hero movie
Close to the end, they came back
“Hey guys.”
BAM
A hugeass box was dropped on your lap
You whipped your head between Bakubabe and the box profusely
“We already ate takoyaki and you’d fucking cry if you knew we went without you.”
Just as fast as he said it, he left to go with Kiri and left you contemplating whether to be offended or happy you got takoyaki
And your heart did a tiny little flutter
Meanwhile
“Bakugou, is that why you forced us to eat takoyaki?”
“Tch. What are you talking about? I was hungry.”
It wasn’t until a couple of days later that you developed a crush on him.
This time, it was when you were too lazy to slice through your stuffed chicken breast during lunch and just stuck your fork through it.
I myself see this as a genius move
But when you set down the chicken to take a sip of water, Bakugo stole away your plate and began slicing it into pieces.
“HEY!”
“YOU LOOK STUPID EATING YOUR FOOD LIKE THAT!”
He slid it back to you, perfectly cut slices on it, and you looked like this
Tumblr media
And from then on you’ve had a crush on Bakugou Katsuki
You hadn’t crushed on anyone for a long time
By crush, this wasn’t some kind of see them once and fall in love cause they’re cute
This was a, ‘Woah this is one of my classmates and friends’ crush and as scary as it was, it also felt nice
I kid you not, that day when class ended, you ran off to your dorm room and blasted the speakers in your room
Que you playing some cute crap like Feel Special by Twice or something with that vibe
You jumped around your room with those incessant butterflies in your stomach going that couldn’t stop beaming, “Bakugou, Bakugou! ♡^▽^♡”
Okay this is adorable and all, but your personality will not solely become ‘I LIKE BAKUGOU’
You’re a wholeass person who angry cries
You think Shindo Yo from Ketsubutsu is hot, just saying.
You look at other guys because you need to appreciate the view, you do this respectfully may I add
You’re smart
You’re stupid
So stupid
Headass thinks blatantly flirting with Bakugou sometimes is the way to make it seem like you DON’T LIKE HIM
Exhibit A:
The following day, you made sure you looked extra pretty, deciding to whip out your favorite lip product and did a nice hairstyle.
Headass no.2 was more rude than usual that day to you.
You saw him walking to class and you walked next to him
“You look handsome today Bakugou.”
He turned to look at you and immediately faced the other direction
“GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!”
;)
You genuinely asked him a question later about his AP shot during class freetime because you wanted some help with your quirk and well...
“I DON’T KNOW YOUR QUIRK! GO ASK AIZAWA!” He’s been obsessive over your quirk for the past few weeks
“BUT YOU’RE THE ONE WHO DOES THE AP SHOT!”
“AND!?”
“YOU’RE ONE OF THE BEST IN OUR CLASS! I THOUGHT YOU COULD HELP ME SINCE YOU’VE GIVEN ME GOOD ADVICE BEFORE, LOSER!”
He shut up, his forehead vein twitched, and his entire face got red before noticing a cute twinkle in your eyes
“Stop looking at me like that and I’ll help you!”
“:D Really?”
“AHH GET OUT OF MY FACE!”
Then during lunch you had your hands smushed on your cheeks listening to Kaminari tell some aloof story about how he dreamed he could wield his electricity with a sword
One look at you and Bakugou hated the way you were paying attention to dunce face
“STOP STARING AT DUNCE FACE LIKE YOU LIKE HIM!”
You were very confused and tensed up
“Ansisnnsnsnsnsnsnsnnsnsn WHAT?!?”
“YOU HEARD ME!”
“I DONT LIKE KAMINARI! BESIDES WHAT’S IT TO YOU BLASTY!?!”
“BLASTY?!?! YOU REALLY WANNA...“
oh god he was beginning to rant
you had to use the sacred move to shut him up
you had to
“SHUT UP OR ILL KISS YOU!”
Oh boy this was going to be a ride

𝙋𝘼𝙄𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙂: kirishima eijirou x bakugo katsuki
𝙎𝙐𝙈𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙔: where bakugo struggles with internal homophobia.
𝙒𝙊𝙍𝘿 𝘾𝙊𝙐𝙉𝙏: 1.5K
bakugo was a lot of things: he was smart, talented, short tempered (even though this wasn’t so much of a good thing), and ultimately looked up to in his areas of strength.
he was proud of most of the things he was but he was terrified of the label that had dawned on him that one morning in middle school.
bakugo was gay.
he was gay and didn’t know how to express it.
the way he would look at boys was so painfully different then the way he looked at girls. especially the pretty ones and how a smile could make him swoon over them. there was just something so endearing about the whole energy they exert when they do the littlest things just made bakugo almost physically melt.
he had told his mother in a joking manner once to test the waters and her reaction wasn’t as pleasing as he thought it would be.
“you’re joking, right?” she had looked up from the book she was reading. his heart deflated at her words. what did he expect?
“of course i’m joking, damn it!” bakugo barks. “don’t you go destroying shit again!” his mother barked back at him, shaking her head. she muttered, “i should have pressed harder to bring him to those anger management appointments.” he stormed off to his room to angst over the situation for the rest of the night. he didn’t even hear her full reaction and he didn’t want to hear her full reaction.
not only was he gay, he was incredibly vulnerable.
he wasn’t a pitiful crier like deku. his anger brought him to hot uncontrollable tears sometimes. all the pent up frustration and pressure placed on his shoulder since he was four years old was insufferable.
he had a tough and powerful quirk so he needs a tough and powerful personality, right?
he didn’t need friends. he needed followers. everybody had to be below him.
except for him.
eijirou kirishima was annoying when he first met him. his stupid outstretched hand of offering friendship and his wide ass shark-toothed grin pissed him off at first.
how could someone be so nice to everyone? how could someone be so nice to him? he was a bully. he told the only one who thought of him as a friend to kill himself for fucks sake!
but kirishima insisted on accompanying him and with him sero, mina, and kaminari to tag along with them. if it wasn’t for the red head’s charm, bakugo would be alone (which he really didn’t mind).
what upset him the most about him was the fact that he fell so easily for his charm. at first he was in denial, he was the only one who batted an eyelash besides deku in his direction so of course he would feel some sort of positive energy to him but soon his emotions bloomed out of control.
he caught himself staring at him during lunch and, as if kirishima knew he had fallen for him, he would flash that smile at him. that stupid grin of his and his stupid caring personality.
“hey, bakubro!”
there he was again. he caught up to bakugo almost instantaneously with same grin of his. they were both heading back to the dorms after wrapping of classes that day.
oh, brother, if he didn’t stop smiling at the time he did then bakugo would become legally blind. “you smile too much, kiri,”
“you know you like it when i smile,” kirishima playfully tugged at his heart strings. this hushed bakugo and caused him to tune out for the rest of the walk.
bakugo just wanted to kiss him on the lips until he lost his breath. he wanted to spend every night in his embrace. he wanted to be able to cry in someone’s arms and give up this stupid act even if it was just for a moment. he wanted kirishima more than ever.
but bakugo was a coward.
they both headed to their own rooms, kirishima asking something about studying for the written part of their hero license exam after dinner.
as soon as bakugo entered his room, he threw his bag down and put his face in his hands. he wasn’t supposed to be acting like this. he was so wimpy!
he felt the hot tears threaten to spill and took a dragged out breath, twisting up his face as he settled on sleeping away the anger. even then he struggled to fall asleep. he could wake up later and pull an all-nighter to finish his homework.
...
bakugo had woken up to the sound of mellow knocking at his dorm. it was completely dark in his room. “damn, how long did i sleep?” he looked toward his alarm clock and surely enough it was eight and his friends were probably wondering why he skipped dinner.
“dude, you up?” he heard once again at the door. bakugo kicks up his sheets, “yeah, hold on,” he pulls a shirt over his head, turns on the lights, and opens the door. kirishima had already brushed through his hair and so his hair was at his shoulders. he had brought a textbook, a notebook, and a cup of spicy instant noodles with him. “yo, you didn’t show up to dinner. is everything alright?” he asks, setting his stuff down on the rug next to bakugo’s bed.
“yeah, took a nap and overslept,” he couldn’t stop peaking at kirishima’s long hair as he straightened his bed. “my hair looks pretty weird, huh?” he chuckles, taking a hair tie from his wrist (that looked like it belonged to ashido) and put his hair up. bakugo’s face reddened.
he had thought about his hair being in a ponytail before but never thought it would look so cute???
“nah, you’re good,” he says, pulling out his notes from his bag. “i brought some instant noodles for you. it’s spicy, just how you like it!” his enthusiasm was overbearing. it was eight pm but it’s almost like the sun was still out.
“thanks,” he muttered as they started going over the notes that they were given.
the values of a hero...
it seemed like everything that bakugo wasn’t- well except for powerful.
“kiri,” he suddenly called to him. kirishima looked up at him, “hm?”
“do you think that i fit the values of a hero?” bakugo’s words came out a little more shyly than his lucking. “are you have doubts? c’mon, bro, you totally do!” kirishima tried reassuring him but he shook his head.
“i’m a coward,” he blurted out. there was a silence before eijirou started laughing, “i didn’t know you could be so funny, bakugo!”
“why are you laughing, spiky hair! i’m serious!” he grunts.
the red head’s smile falters, “what makes you think that?”
“i-” bakugo huffs as he feels his emotions boil again, “i’m emotionally unavailable. like what kind of loser can’t express how they feel? i’m worse than deku!” he clenches his fists. he shouldn’t be here. he shouldn’t be in this situation! why couldn’t he keep his mouth shut?
“ba- no... katsuki, you know you can tell me anything, right? there’s something on your mind just say it.” another silence breaks out between the two of them, katsuki’s eyes finally meet eijirou’s.
“do you know how it feels when you think that you’re one step away from messing everything up? as if you could say one thing and it could burn every bridge you had worked so hard creating but you can’t help but feeling this way because it’s just who you are?” he grits his teeth as he felt the tears start to trickle out of his eyes. eijirou looked at the blonde in disbelief for a moment before wrapping his arms around him.
“there’s not one thing you could say right now that would ruin anything. come out with it, okay?”
this is what he wanted but what he wanted felt so wrong. the hot tears blinded his vision as his brain went into autopilot. “i’m gay,” he gasps out. he was waiting for eijirou to leave him there in his tears. he was waiting for the curses, the scolding but it never came. “it’s okay. there’s nothing wrong with that-”
“fuck, i love you, ei,”
oh my god he fucked it up.
silence.
fuck. fuck. fuck. fuck!
“i love you too, katsuki,” when those words hit bakugo’s ears. all he could hear was the sirens. “you’re lying,” he chokes through his tears. “i would never!” he pulls back slightly, placing his arms on the blonde’s shoulders. eijirou looked right into his eyes. the window to his soul had opened and he could see everything. “i love you too, katsuki,” he repeated once again, this time kissing him on the lips.
katsuki kissed back so endearingly and hungrily. he was so touch starved that he wanted it all right now. he didn’t want to ever leave this moment.
“you’ll stay right?” he asks when they parted from the kiss, “you’ll stay the night?”
“i wouldn’t ever leave,”

ana reads bnha ch161
previous chapter here first chapter here next chapter here
Tumblr media
I believe in this too. Not in, like, a cosmic way, because I’m mother atheist and I don’t believe in anything spiritual, but in a psychological way, this holds water. If Nighteye kept trying to change the future with the mindset that the future couldn’t really be changed, that was a self-fulfilling prophesy. But it’s just like I’m always saying. The stories we tell ourselves are the stories we become. Everyone else deciding that they were going to live through this and keep fighting is what allowed it to happen.
This is also why I believe in compliments so much, so here’s my friendly reminder to compliment yourself and not participate in self-deprecation, even for comedy :) I have an agenda, always, haha.
Tumblr media
I will say. Y’all know I’m not a crier, and I’m not crying reading this chapter, but the thing that always gets me isn’t the sad thing itself, but people’s reaction to the sad thing. So I’m not made that sad by Nighteye dying. But Mirio experiencing Nighteye’s death…that’s true tragedy. This poor man.
Furthermore, I’d never thought about it before, but Mirio&Nighteye is a mirror for Deku&All Might. I guess that’s obvious, haha, but…this makes me feel fairly certain that we’re not going to see All Might die unless there’s a major time skip in the series. Because here we have the experience of the potential #1 hero of the next generation having his mentor die. I don’t think that’ll be repeated with Deku. Unless Mirio never gets his quirk back and that changes the parallel. But still, this is…oddly reassuring in that way.
Tumblr media
A fine bit of character growth, if I do say so myself. I wonder if he would have used his quirk even if he hadn’t just had it proven that his quirk doesn’t lock the future. I guess he wouldn’t have, huh? He wouldn’t want to risk locking Mirio in a future where he doesn’t have his quirk. But it’s a shame we never get to know what he sees, since he probably looked pretty far…and idk, I don’t expect that we’re gonna get a big time skip out of this series. But I could be wrong. I don’t know enough about manga/anime to really guess that, haha.
Tumblr media
Overall: Mirio’s reaction is another thing that just works so much better in animation for me than in stills. Honestly, it would probably even work better just in writing than in stills. Voice acting really does a lot for emotionally fraught moments like this. But the still images really just are a bit too static for me, I think. Text has more flow to it, plus prose can really capture emotions well. The expressions here are good, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think reading this would ever make me cry. Idk, does anyone disagree and find that graphic novels are a good medium for a high drama scene like this? Because, for me, this works even less than the action scenes do. This is the thing that I most want to see in motion, with voice acting.

A Floppy Green Mess
Bakudeku Valentine’s story based on this adorably funny art piece by @corzev with permission.  https://corzev.tumblr.com/post/190847911389/dont-repostedit-uhhh-happy-valentines-day-lol
Seated in his desk chair, Bakugou braces his arms along the backing and rests his chin on top.  His eyes narrow and brows twitch as he stares at his bed… or rather what sat upon it.  Tomorrow…  tomorrow might be the death of him, and this reminder was all of his own making.
He knew that Deku will love this stupid gift since the boy was a complete sap at heart, but coming from him, well, he had to really dig deep to pull it off.  Just sneaking it into his dorm room without being caught had been an undertaking.  He didn’t even want to think about carrying into the common room downstairs or dealing with all the gawking that was sure to come with it.
Only one other person knew about his plans for Valentine’s day, and even that had been due to an unplanned and pure accident the blonde would have preferred never happened.  Damn that shitty hair for having a similar gift idea for Mina.  Traditionally honmei chocolates were given, but Bakugou could careless about traditions.  Kirishima’s excuse on the other hand, was that Mina hinted at wanting something other than chocolates too.  At least the red head came in useful for sneaking the gifts in, since he didn’t want to get caught either.
But why had he chosen this particular gift?!  He groans and swipes a hand down his face, sitting up in the process.  There were a lot of options at the store, and he’d spent the better half of two hours combing through it for the perfect idea.
The most cliché gift for Deku would have been an All Might themed item, but that green-haired nerd had too damn many All Might stuff already.  Jewelry was out of his price range, plus he just couldn’t see Deku caring about such material things.  A cool new journal might make him happy, but that was boring.  Finally, when he’d been almost ready to give up and walk out, there it had been at the back of the store.  Propped on a display stand because of its size, it was perfect.
One big ass stuffed green rabbit plush that was almost bigger than he was.  In fact, he could barely get his arms around it.  He swore the thing even looked like Midoriya, with its bright green eyes and freckles representing whiskers.  The right ear was flopped over, adding to its huggable adorability factor, but on the front of its chest were the words “My Hero.”  Bakugou wasn’t super thrilled with that message, but he couldn’t begrudge the fact the rest of the doll was perfect for his idiot little Valentine.  Deku was bound to adore it, squeeze it, probably snuggle with the damn thing, and it would be like Katsuki living through the doll even if the nerd doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.
‘He better fucking like me back!’  The blonde growls under his breath.  He wouldn’t be taking this embarrassing chance if he thought there wasn’t one.  Eavesdropping on the A-1 girl’s conversations had him pretty convinced that the guy had a secret crush on him.  According to them, Midoriya’s nursed it for years, and it was the whole reason he’s put up with the hot-headed blonde’s abusive attitude.  Bakugou didn’t want to admit that he was quite a bully to the boy their whole life, but he was an asshole to everyone.  Okay… so maybe he was worse to Deku, but the guy could be annoying too.
‘Then why’d you fall for him?’
‘Shut up!’  he growls at his conscious.  He had no idea why!  Somehow the damn nerd grew on him!  Yeah, the nerd was still the same annoying ray of sunshine he’s always been but watching the nerd develop after receiving One For All and go from a mouse to a powerhouse on par with him, well, it just happened.  He didn’t even notice the feelings developing, or how he’d started paying more attention to the guy, worried about, and even started acting nicer to him….
Until one day after an exhaustive training session, they were in the communal showers, and seeing a half-naked Midoriya spiked his heartrate along with something else below the waist.  Thank All Might no one noticed the smoke coming off of his hands due to the level of steam in the room.  He’d quickly dashed back into a shower stall and took a very long cold shower to cope.  But the answer was as clear as a blow to the head.  He was in love with Midoriya Izuku.
Speaking of a shower, the waning light outside of his window signaled dinner would be soon.  He climbs off his chair and gives the stuffed doll one last look before grabbing his things.  A shower might calm his nerves and maybe provide a bit of respite to cool the other physical desires swirling in his brain.
Bakugou reaches over and silences the alarm clock on his phone.  Unable to get a restful sleep, he’d already been up when the beep signaled the arrival of 8 am Saturday morning.  There wasn’t a rush to get out of bed, knowing that Deku was probably still out cold.  That boy has never been a morning person and on school days it often took a load of coffee to get him past the walking dead stage.  He on the other hand could rise before the sun breached the horizon and get a workout run in before heading to class.
Another alert from his phone, but this time a message from Kirishima.  ‘I can hear Deku in his room, boy’s early today.’
The blonde sits up.  ‘Don’t panic,’ he tells himself, ‘just because he’s up early doesn’t mean anything.’  He swings his legs over the side of the bed, giving his arms and back a good stretch to warm up the muscles.
Another alert.  ‘He left his room got his jacket and scarf on.’
“Fuck!”  Where the hell is Deku going this early?!  Bakugou hurries to throw on a pair of pants, a warm turtleneck, and his shoes almost tripping over the pants legs as he puts them on.  He then grabs the rabbit plush and races out of his room, not even stopping to close the door behind him.  This thing was so cumbersome to carry!  Hoisting it over his shoulder, he descends the staircase, figuring it would be faster.  He takes them two by two, practically throwing himself down the flights and slamming his shoulder against the open bar once he makes it to the bottom.
Crap! Crap! Crap!  The second he bursts through the stairwell entrance, Bakugou see’s Deku almost at the front door.  “Oi!  Nerd!”  He screams as he breaks into a sprint.
Deku hears someone calling his name and stops, turning towards the source.  “Oh, hey Kacchan!”  He waves with a beaming smile.
How is Deku so awake already?!  To Bakguou this was quite out of character for the guy to be lively in the morning.  He stops a couple of feet from the green-haired man.  “Where the fuck you headin’ so early?”
“Um, well, you know my mom is all alone,” Deku flushes a little embarrassed, “so I was gonna meet her for brunch as a Valentine’s treat.”
‘That’s it?!’  Bakugou lets out an exhale of relief because deep down he’d feared his crush was about to go meet a potential rival.  Not that he’d ever admit that out loud.  “Oh.  Tch, sounds like the sappy kind of shit you’d think to do.”
“Um, Kacchan, what do you have there?”  Midoriya points to the doll.  “Is that a gift from someone?”  His eyes crinkle, “do you have an admirer?!”
“What?!”  Oh, wait the doll!  How the fuck could he forget about the big ass plush rabbit in his arms.  “Hell, no this isn’t from anyone!  Who the fuck would give me a stuffed animal?!”
Midoriya giggles, he didn’t think so least they were ready to be incinerated.  “Then why do you have it?”
Immediately, the hot-heads blood pressure goes through the roof.  His cheeks heat up and burst into a dark reddish hue.  He averts his eyes, nervous and embarrassed.  “It’s for you Deku.”  Bakugou holds the doll out.  “You know for the holiday and crap.”
“What?!”  This surely wasn’t really happening.  Deku pinches his arm, for he had to still be dreaming. Waking up early was playing tricks on his mind.  “No way, y-you got me a-a gift?  Does that mean?”
This bitch was going to make him say it!  The blonde growls, “damn are you gonna accept it?” He tries again to thrust the doll towards his crush.  “Be my fucking Valentine Deku?”
There was no warning, no rimming of moisture, or light clouding in his eyes.  The moment Bakugou said the last three words, tears explode from Midoriya like the uncorking of a champagne bottle.  Even the hot head was taken aback by the sheer volume of liquid pouring out.  How was it even possible?!  And if that wasn’t crazy enough….  In the middle of the fountain action, the man goes limp and drops like a dead weight to the floor.
“Stupid fucking nerd!”  Bakugou drops the stuffed rabbit, quickly slides onto his knees and pulls the collapsed man into his lap.  “Oi!  Dumb ass wake up!” he shakes his crush, but the guy was unresponsive.  Shit!  Did he hit his head or something?  “Deku this isn’t funny!” He slaps the unconscious man.  He could see the headline’s now: Pro hero dies from bunny shock.  “Wake up!”
Leave it to Deku to give him a heart attack on Valentine’s Day.  He can feel the eyes of observers on his back boring in, judging.  Of course, with his personality, it would be easy to blame him for hurting someone.  But there’s no way he’d ever hurt Deku!  Not willingly.  Who could have predicted this damn nerd would go into shock and collapse?!  Tears cloud his ruby red eyes and he cradles the man’s face against his cheek.  “This is bullshit!”  But his growls are a facade as the panic takes over.  “Deku wake the fuck up!”
Stupid rabbit doll!  Had the cute and cuddly plush toy been too much?  He’d figured Deku would love it.  Surely it wasn’t the fact he’s the one who asked the nerd to be his Valentine?  Was it really that shocking?  Okay fine, so it would seem out of character for him, especially with their history, but they’d gotten past all that and were on good terms now.  Even the crying was something he somewhat expected.  Maybe not the volume, but let’s face it, the man was a crier.
After what felt like a million years yet in the flash of minutes, Bakugou feels his friend stirring in his arms.  He gives another shake.  “Get up nerd!”
Midoriya’s eyes open, blinking from the harsh glare that meets it.  “Ka…cchan?”  He looks around, “why am I on the floor?”  But then he notices the moisture in his friend’s eyes.  He sits up quickly.  “Oh no, what’s wrong?!  Y-You’re crying!”
“What?!  No!” Bakugou shoves the man off his lap and wipes away the tears he won’t admit had gathered.  “I don’t cry!”
“But…”
“I wasn’t crying!  You just had me worried cause you fucking collapsed!”
That’s when the whole Valentine’s confession sweeps back into Midoriya’s mind like a blaring reminder alert.  “R-Right… Kacchan wants to be my Valentine,” he mumbles under his breath as if his brain is still processing the events before it short circuited.  The stuffed plush rabbit lay off to the side, so he pulls it over and hugs it close.  “I’m sorry I worried you,” he peers up at the red-faced man in front of him, smiling, sniffling, and tucking his chin into the dolls soft head.  “Of course, I’ll be your Valentine Kacchan.”
Bakugou looks away, embarrassed.  “I’m not forcing you to be you know.”
“Huh?”  Midoriya sits up straighter.  “I know you’re not!”  He scoots closer on his knees, placing the doll beside them.  He reaches out and takes hold of the blonde’s hand, giving it a small squeeze of reassurance.  “I was a little surprised, is all to get a gift from you.”
“Tch, well don’t read too much into it.”
“Oh…”
The blonde watches his crush deflate right before his eyes.  Shoulders slumped, and body hunched a little as if the man before him wanted to curl into a ball.  He can see the tears building again in Midoriya’s eyes.
“…okay.  Thank you very much for the gift Kacchan, but I should be on my way.”  If his body hadn’t communicated how he felt from Bakugou’s words, his tone sure did.
A stinging arrow pierces the blonde’s heart.  He’d gone too far with the remark and the sensitive man was taking it hard.  ‘Idiot!’  he growls at himself.  Sometimes his mouth really needed a filter.  As his crush stood ready to leave, Bakugou grabs his wrist, still from a seated position.  He couldn’t bring himself to look up at the man and keeps his eyes glued to the floor.
“Kacchan?”
He squeezes Midoriya’s wrist, “I didn’t….” a sigh escaping his lips, “...didn’t mean for it to come out like that.”  His brows furrow, annoyed and upset with himself for ruining the moment.  “I’m still coming to terms with the idea…. that I really like you.”  He can feel his entire body heating up from the proclamation being said out loud for anyone within range to hear it.  There was a mixture of fear, anxiety, melded with excitement and a feeling of liberation all seeping through his frame.  “Like… in a romantic way.”
“Kaachan, get up.”  Though Midoriya’s words were a demand, his timbre was gentle and lulls Bakugou into at least looking up at the man.  “Come on,” he reverses the grip on his wrist, taking hold of the man’s arm, and tugging gently, “get up.”
Once the blonde has allowed himself to be pulled up, Midoriya refuses to let go, instead switching to the man’s hand.  He intertwines their fingers with a smile.  “I like you too.  Would you like to come with me to see my mom?  I know she won’t mind.  We can say hi to your parents too while we’re in the area.”
“Are you sure, I don’t want to be a third wheel…”
“No way!  I’d rather you come along,” the nerdy man flushes red, “it can be kind of like our first date.”
Date!  Is what he wanted to scream.  “Okay fine, I’ll tag along but I’m not calling it a date cause dates are for saps.”
That just makes Midoriya laugh, of course this man would think dates are sappy.
“But, what about the rabbit,” Bakugou motions to the doll, “you’re not taking that with us, right?  It’ll be a pain in the ass on the train…  trust me.”
Again, the man laughs, “I’ll put it in my dorm room.  Wait for me here in the foyer?”
“I’ll come with you, gotta grab my jacket and wallet since I hadn’t dressed to go out.”
“Oh, right,” more laughter.
As they stop to part ways in front of Midoriya’s dorm room, and before letting go of the man’s hand, Bakugou leans forward hesitantly, then places a quick kiss on his crushes his lips.  “It’ll just be a couple minutes to grab my stuff.”  The green-haired man turns bright red and sputters out a few incoherent words.  The blond laughs, at least he didn’t faint this time.

Star Tear AU - Alt. Timeline: Todoroki ver. [Part 1]
This is an AU I wrote on the todomomo discord server eons ago. Anything posted to this blog will be transcripts of old original work and not really edited, save for formatting. I have no guarantees if I will ever finish these AUs either so these will only be kept as an archive.
Original transcript posted to tdmm discord: Aug 2020
Momo ver. Alternate timeline: Todo ver. Part 1 || Todo ver. Part 2 || Todo ver. Part 3
Star tears in which Todoroki falls for Momo first.
shortly after the exam with Aizawa he doesn’t know what he’s feeling but just admires her strength and quick thinking
and him hanging out with Deku and Iida at lunch means Todo hears all the nice and good things Momo does when she and Iida to discuss class prez stuff
which intensifies this ??admiration?? and respect more
and he just?? Holds onto those feelings unable to figure out what they are until idk maybe holidays where 1A and 1B throw that holiday hotpot party
and Momos really cute lookin’ in that Santa hat she made with the festive turtleneck
and so that feeling inside Todo grows into something more??? bc "oh shit she cute".... and Todo’s blushing while looking at her from afar. Probably.
so Todo talks to Fuyumi abt it and Fuyumi’s like: “I think you like her Shouto”
and he writes to his mom abt it and Rei's like: “she sounds like a lovely girl Shouto”
and he texts Natsuo abt it and Natsu's like: “aw little bro has a crush”
but all the while this is happening, Momo's gotten closer with Iida over class prez stuff and hero stuff and everyone in 1A (read: mina and hagakure) think iimomo might be a thing???
ofc Momo denies it and making excuses politely like "no no ofc not we're being responsible class prez and vice prez" but she’s kinda stuttery while doing so, so no one buys it
and no ones brave enough to ask Iida except Ochako but he gives some straight laced answer like "i admire her work ethic and respect her as a hero and vice prez" but he also has some tint of blush across his cheeks
so idk fast forward to graduation where Todo's been holding onto these feelings for Momo since first year and iimomo is still very very likely
so its all cherry blossom petals flying around and congratulatory celebrations
and when Todo sees Momo amongst the sakura trees smiling like he's never seen before (bc they're finally officially heroes!!) he thinks she’s beautiful
but just as he's about to approach her, Iida approaches her and Todo can see she's blushing and he knows its really not good to eavesdrop on one of his best friends and the girl he likes
But... he's curious.
or so he lies to himself.
Ofc what he hears isnt what he ever wants to,,,,
cuz Iida just confessed to her.
and she feels the same.
and a star tear slips from Todo's eye as he walks away.
he stops mid step as he touches his cheek bc he didnt even realize he was crying
but what are these tears??? What’s happening?? He's never had these before bc even though Todo is an emotional crier, he doesn’t cry that often.. only when he is completely overwhelmed with emotion
so he has this dumbfounded expression staring at his fingers as these star tears are twinkling out of his eyes catching sunlight and sakura petals
until he hears "Youre a fucking idiot" from a few steps away
Bakugou.
(Baku really likes eavesdropping ok its not the first time lol)
Baku: theyre called star tears.
Todo: You know what these are?
Baku: it happens when you like someone and that person doesnt like you back, idiot.
Todo: ... oh.
Baku: get that shit sorted or you'll go blind
(And for those who are curious, yes maaaayyybe Bakugou has a case of the stars in this timeline too, that’s how he knows. To whom? I'll let you decide bc honestly, I just want todobaku brotp bonding over unrequited love)
so now Todo thinks he might be fucked. One of his best friends confessed to the girl he likes too and she likes him back and now Todo has this disease that might make him go blind and might get in the way of heroing (which they've all secured post graduation positions by now) and what can he do about it?
nothing, says the doctor he sees. The disease is not curable and the only way to stop it is to have your feelings returned else you'll go colour blind and then completely blind, so he's told.
ya he's really fucked.
maybe its a good thing then, that he doesnt cry often. It makes it easier to ice over these feelings, freeze them in time with the memories of U.A.; of his last congratulations to her and her smile at the end of the ceremony an hour after he overheard that confession
maybe its another good thing that right after graduation, everyone went off to their own positions as side kicks with agencies across japan, focusing on heroing
but its 3 months after graduation that Iida tells Deku and Todoroki that he is seeing Momo when they meet up every Friday to catch up
its 6 months after graduation that its publicly announced in Hero Magazine that Ingenium and Creati are dating
its 9 months after graduation that he sees Iida and Momo attending the Hero Association's rising stars gala as a couple and are seated at the same table as them
(Bakugou is scowling at him across the table.)
Todo tries. He really does. To be happy for them.
but he's angry at himself that he can't be happy for them. That it saddens him to see Momo glowing under the ballroom lights but its not himself to make her shine like that, its Iida. That he sees she is the one to make Iida genuinely happy in the way his eyes light up when he smiles at her.
and all three times Todo goes home, lies down alone in his room, an arm slung across his forehead as the star tears leak from his eyes.
he starts to lose seeing colour at 12 months.
after 24 months he needs glasses for colour correction (and ironically gets a sponsorship with the brand. The fashion magazines print headlines for weeks "Hot-Cold Hero Shouto Fall Fashion! See page 7 spread for his newest spotted specks and turtle necks")
at 36 months Iida breaks the news. Iida's gonna propose to Yaoyorozu and wants him, Deku, and his brother to be his groomsmen
she said yes.
and a part of Todo washes away with the star tears flooding him room and twinkling against the tatami.
he tries to stay out of the wedding planning as much as possible. He'll go to the tuxedo fittings as requested and still keep up hearing the updates when seeing Iida and Deku for their weekly get together on Friday nights.
But for anything involving Momo's presence, there will always be a "sorry i have a mission that week", "sorry im visiting my mom", "sorry Endeavor needs to see me about the agency"
... all excuses Bakugou knows, but the others pay no mind. They are rising heroes near the top of the billboard by now
month 48. Wedding day.
she's stunning. Gorgeous. A near goddess walking down the aisle on her big day.
but she's not walking down for him. No its for iida.
there was the ceremony, the cheers, the congratulations, the reception. Fairy lights around the dance floor and along the walls, champagne glittering after the sound of a cork
Todoroki stands off to against the wall as the night dies down, a glass in hand, watching the newly weds grace the dance floor.
someone slides up beside him, he feels the presence. Bakugou.
"She's beautiful isnt she?"
"Yeah."
. . .
a star tear falls from Todoroki's eyes, twinkle hidden among the fairy lights and champagne glitter.
she's beautiful, but maybe its a good thing I can't see
somebody said: what if she knows everything that had happened and the reason why he couldn't continue his career is bc of her?
me: ok you’re asking for it
Momo, 3 months pregnant with iimomo baby, announces with Iida the news to their friends
the soon to be parents want to choose godparents for the baby so Iida gets to choose the baby’s godmother and Momo gets to choose the godfather
and ofc along with the announcement Momo asks Todoroki to be the kid’s godfather
he can’t say no to her.
the same week later Todo and Momo's agencies are requested to deal with this one villain case while Ingenium's agency deals with another in another town (later turns out the cases were connected)
small talk, civil, very professional between Momo and Todo when they’re in the debriefing
at this point Todo's pretty much completely blind and uses some special contact lenses from Hatsume to help "see"
but the contact lenses can only do so much as to detect light movement and shadows and it reallllllllly doesnt work well when he's using his fire
so Todo already had tossed around the idea of running away to the mountains like Roy did in the FMA 2003 ending, "mysteriously" retiring bc really his vision cannot keep up
until this last mission with Momo
and really its been nearly a decade now since they last worked together side by side (not since U.A. he thinks).. so just let the blind man be selfish one last time
and so smth smth missiom happens, Todo and Momo fighting side by side
but Momo senses there’s something off with Todo's movements? His reflexes are slower.. it doesnt seem like he's prediciting the opponents moves like he used to.. he's more so reacting and retaliating than attacking..
she chalks it up to that they havent fought side by side in a long time and his style must’ve changed and really, she doesnt know him anymore... not like she used to
smth smth 3 months pregnant Momo gets hurt, knocked unconscious for a bit
Todo saves her
and when she comes to, while Todo's holding her, star tears fall onto her cheek from Todo's eyes.
She's shocked. Reaches up to gently graze a finger tip at his left cheek.
"Todoroki-san, these are?"
and again its like Todo didnt realize he was crying. He jerks away from her hand and brushes her off with "its nothing”. Changes the subject with "are you ok?"
Momo: yes.. i think so
Todo: and the baby?
Momo, sitting up: we're ok I think
Todo, moving away: good
the mission concludes and they meet up with Ingenium’s group to wrap up the two ends. Todo slips away before Iida and Momo and approach him
theres no activity from Todoroki for the next month
neither Iida, Deku or anyone else in 1A know where he went except the Hero Association's vague comment on "Hot Cold Hero Shouto has taken a sudden indefinite hiatus"
(Only Todo’s family knows and Endeavor asked the Association to say "hiatus" instead of "retirement" bc Enji wants to believe in his son making a comeback. He didnt stop Shouto from taking off)
and ofc Momo upon hearing this is so confused??? Her last mission with him was the last time she saw him and he was crying. Why was he crying? Strange star tears twinkling and landing on her cheeks? What even is that phenomenon?
its too many questions and ofc Momo's gonna investigate. For the sake of her friend.
so she digs up all the texts she can find on star tears. Internet search all the possibilities. Consults the doctors at the hospital. Even asks Tenya if Todoroki has been acting strangely during their weekly catch ups.
but Tenya tells her Todoroki hasnt been the the meet ups since after their wedding
so she asks anyone in their pro hero circle of associates she can think of. Tsukiyomi, Burnin', heros from his agency, anyone she can think of that has worked with Todoroki before and could comment on his behaviour
no body knows. No body noticed anything different either. Sure there were some off days but the Hot Cold Hero Shouto was always on his game being one of the top 3 heroes on the billboard charts
she searches and searches, splitting time interviewing colleagues and researching the possible star tears phenomenon
until eventually her search takes her to...
Bakugou.
Of course.
Momo, pleading: please Bakugou, you know something about him dont you?
Bakugou, who at this point had been very careful trying not to get cornered knowing her investigation: save it pony tail, you’re about to have a baby. Go have people harass you about that brat in your oven instead of harassing other people
Momo, nearly begging: please. You and I both know he's strong and a good hero that would not suddenly retire. Whatever he is doing, he might need help.. please tell me Bakugou.
... theres something about pregnant women that you cant say no to.
Bakugou, relenting: tch. The half ass is somewhere in Yokohama
and thats all she needs nearly running waddling (as fast as a pregnant woman could) out the door
Bakugou, calling out after her, still reluctant: when find that half ass, i suggest you throw him a gift. Literally. Throw it at him. He deserves it.
she finds him along the port, watching the sunset in Yokohama (its really not that hard to find someone with heterochromia and two tone hair in a city, especially if youre a hero that knows what methods heroes will use to go incognito)
and for some inkling of a feeling, Momo takes Bakugou's advice. She has a carton of strawberry milk in hand.
Momo, a few feet away from him: Todoroki-san, it's been a while.
Todo, turning his head in her direction: Yaoyorozu...?
Momo, sadly smiling: the sunset is beautiful here isnt it?
Todo, brows furrowing: .. sure. Yaoyorozu what are you doing here--
Momo, interrupting him: --i brought some snacks. Strawberry milk, you liked this while we were in school right? Catch.
she tosses it at him.
he tries to reach out.
But he'es completely off. And misses
Momo, sad: Todoroki-san. You're blind, arent you?
Todo, guilty: ah.
Momo, tearing up: will you please tell me?
he still can say no to her and confesses his story
and when he's finished telling the tale of star tears, the stars above are twinkling too
she's crying and choking and sobbing through tears and its intensified by baby Iida with pregnancy hormones
But the last thing she manages to croak out at the very least is still wholly her
She apologizes
“Im so sorry Todoroki- san. I cant love you that way.”
“I know.”
END NOTES:
red is the last color Todoroki wanted to lose because it reminds him of Momo
during missions, as long as he could see her, “that’s ok” he thought. she is the only one he sees in color. that is okay with him
to him, Momo is his shining star. And there’s something tragically poetic of him losing his sight to the stars if its for his shining star Momo
He leaves the last stars in a tiny little jar like those paper stars as a gift for her with just the words on a note "goodbye Momo" the day after she finds him in Yokohama
Momo has the jar of stars forever on her bedside and looks at them with this melancholy expression. Baby Iida grows up and asks mom: "what is that jar of stars?"
Momo responds: "a gift from someone that was blinded by love"
Bakugou in this timeline had a case of star tears too but I'd like to think he got his feelings requited so he never went blind to contrast Todo
So thats why Baku is (begrudgingly) sympathetic to Todo cuz he thinks: “that could’ve been me”
The ending shot of a blind Todoroki in a dark room, all alone, eyes closed, thinking back to Momo's shining smile from UA surrounded by star light with a sad smile on his face and it fades to black

Remember that parenting AU I talked abt a while back?
This one
Well here's the prologue
On Ao3
Or down here
~
The hospital is busy, the attack that made it that way harrowing. It's been a long time since such a large-scale attack had been launched by villains and the devastation to the city and its residents is palpable even in this hospital, relatively far from the battleground. One would think that the further hospitals would take in more lightly injured patients but in the panic of the moment, there was no time for priority victims. Everyone was shipped off the moment they were found, regardless of their state. Thus, the halls are filled with mostly lightly injured people and family members of the ones that are worse off. The rooms are reserved for the latter.
Izuku is there, for once, not on his own behalf. He had only sustained minor injuries and had been tended to at the scene. He came to pick up Shouto, who had taken a bullet to the bicep and couldn't stay for the cleanup, being carted off as soon as the fighting died down. Now that all the civilians have been taken care of and no more heroes were needed, Izuku had been shooed off as well by his superiors, and thus he finds himself here, in the crowded halls of the hospital. He keeps busy by helping the nurses move patients and talking to the children to calm them down.
He's out of things to do however and now he aimlessly roams the halls, waiting for Shouto to text him that he's done. People recognise him here and there, stop him to thank him and show their support, and he in turn thanks them for their bravery. It's a common occurrence, one that he's lived through hundreds of times but one that never gets old to him. That's exactly what he's doing, talking to a family that had been leaving and thanking them for their support, when he hears the sniffle.
Ears trained on the sound, he bids the family goodbye and a safe trip home, and tries to find it's source. Following the hiccups and sniffles, he stumbles upon a girl sitting in a chair in an empty hallway and doing her damned best not to be loud. He remembers her, he took her to the med station himself and now, meeting here in the hospital again, he can't help but approach. Crouching slowly in front of her, he lets out a low "Hey," to catch her attention.
The girl looks up with a start, big tearful eyes locking on his own and there he sees the despair that should never make its home on a child's face. "Hello," he says with a soft smile, "you're Toriga, right?" She sniffs and nods, tangled wavy hair bouncing around her face. "I remember you," Izuku continues, "you were so brave today, you really impressed me!"
Toriga wipes her nose on a battered sleeve and offers a wobbly smile. "Y-you were impressive too, Deku-san."
Izuku beams his best smile at her "Oh you really think so? I can't wait to tell Shouto!" Then he frowns a little. "He's my boyfriend, he's been hurt, you know, and I'm really worried about him. Are you worried about someone too?"
The little girl hiccups and nods, "My mom," she chokes out, "I heard the doctors saying they don't know if she's gonna wake up!" With that, she falls forward and clings to Izuku's neck, and he doesn't waste a moment before enveloping her in a tight hug.
"Oh darling," he tells her softly, "I'm sure she'll pull through. If you're that brave I can only imagine how awesome your mom is. She's gonna be alright." The girl only sobs more, Izuku knows that now that she's let go she won't stop until she's spent. He's an experienced crier himself after all.
So he picks her up completely and sits in the now vacated chair. On a thought, he unclasps his mouth guard and takes it off, letting her bury her face in his hood. He hugs her closely and lets her cry her eyes out, rocking her just a little and murmuring soft words into the empty air. He wonders why Toriga's alone here. She's too little not to seek comfort from a family member at a time like this and she hadn't mentioned a father at all, though that might not mean much. She might have run away when she overheard the doctors and gotten lost.
He's debating heading to the more populated area of the hospital with her so they're more easily found by whichever family member might be looking for her when his phone chimes. Shouto is telling him to meet him by the admittance desk. He probably knows Izuku got caught up helping around. That settles it then, he hoists the now sleeping child more safely onto his shoulder and picks up his discarded mouth guard. He awkwardly texts Shouto with the one hand that's less occupied that they can't leave yet and that he'll explain in person. Shouto's text back is characteristically flat but accepting nonetheless, and Izuku huffs a low laugh.
When Shouto spots him with a kid on his shoulder he raises an eyebrow but leans in for a kiss anyway, opting to not ask any questions and let Izuku tell him on his own.
"Hey hon," Izuku greets, "how's that arm of yours?"
Shouto looks down at the sling they gave him and shrugs his good shoulder. "I tried to tell them to save the medical quirks for the civilians but they insisted. I guess hospital staff has a good reason to want heroes back on the job as quickly as possible. They say I should be good as new in a few days."
"That's good to hear," Izuku says with a relieved sigh. Then he nods to the sleeping girl in his arms. "I found Toriga here alone in a hallway. Her mother hasn't woken up yet and she says she heard the doctors saying she might not wake up at all." After Shouto's sympathetic hum, he continues, "I was hoping to find a family member of hers but I don't know her last name so I can't really ask at the desk. It won't hurt to try though."
Shouto nods, but before they can head to the desk, a shout interrupts them.
"Toriga!"
They turn around to see a woman in her thirties jogging towards them with relief on her face. "Hello. Are you her family?" Izuku asks.
"Quirk counsellor. Kaguya Hanako, nice to meet you." She corrects, coming to a stop in front of them. "Deku and Shouto, right? I came as soon as I heard about her mother."
Izuku and Shouto share a glance. "No family?" Shouto asks cautiously. The woman shakes her head mournfully.
"Her grandparents are both in a hospice and her mother is single and has no siblings, to my knowledge at least. The father was never even mentioned so there's no way to contact him. I'm her designated social worker as I am for every child I work with."
"What… What will happen to her now?" Izuku asks carefully, rubbing one gloved hand up and down Toriga's back slowly.
Miss Kaguya sighs. "Well, I'll take her home with me tonight, but I can't neglect my work at the school for too long and I'll be legally obligated to situate her at an orphanage if a week passes. I'll most likely have to do it even sooner than that, before she comes back to school." She says sadly. "I'm not particularly happy about it, but it's currently the only way."
They all fall silent, the heroes taking the time to process the sharp turn this child's life must be taking. Shouto doesn't even have to look at Izuku to know the expression his boyfriend is sporting and what exactly comes next. He looks down at him anyway, takes in the (admittedly well hidden) trembling lip, looks him in the eye and sighs deeply. He turns to Kaguya.
"Is fostering an option?"
The woman looks between them in disbelief, but at Izuku's vigorous nod and Shouto's soft smile, she deflates. "Well, it is a better option than the orphanage. She seems to trust you." She says, nodding at Izuku, who nods back in confirmation.
"I was the one who found her during the rescue."
"But this isn't to be taken lightly. I'm well aware of both your jobs and statuses in the hero community." She warns, eyes flicking to their costumes. "You'll have to stay with her for at least a week, providing that you have good accomodations for her and there will be questionnaires and paperwork to be filled, not to mention moving at least some of her belongings to your residence."
"That won't be a problem." Shouto says, and Izuku continues for him.
"Yeah, we have a pretty big apartment with a guest bedroom. Shouto is going to have at least a few sick days after this, and if our agency doesn't grant me leave as well, then I'll take vacation days. I would even if I didn't have a lot stocked up. After that we can work our schedules around in her favor and our families will be more than happy to look after her. I know my mom will for sure." When he looks up at Shouto, the taller man nods.
"My mother and sister would be delighted as well."
Kaguya scrutinises them for a little longer, but she must like what she sees because in the end, she nods. "Well then, all that's left is to ask Toriga." She says at last.
Izuku opens his mouth to agree, but he's interrupted by a small "Yes." Coming from his shoulder.
"Toriga?" He asks, looking down at the little girl "You've been awake this whole time?"
"For a little while. Will I be staying with you, Deku-san?" She sits up in his arms and rubs one eye. He adjusts his hold on her.
"Yeah, with me and Shouto, if you want to that is."
She looks at Shouto, who gives her a small smile and a wave, than to Kaguya, then back at Izuku.
"Of course I want to!"
~
There was a moderate amount of interest in this AU and I really wanted to explore it and all its intricacies, so I'm gonna start it as a series of one-shots! It has so many branching paths and possibilities that not even I know where it'll go yet, but I do have the next few installments in idea-form. Hopefully ppl like it and I keep my motivation on a continuous enough level to work out this admittedly huge project.
Oh yeah, and my ask box is open for prompts!

Side Effects
chapter 24: baby daddy 5
A coma.
A fucking coma.
Bakugou had put his own fucking girlfriend in the hospital in a goddamn coma.
After the accident had happened, he watched Uraraka fall to the ground in slow motion. He thought she would get up but some of the rubble collapsed on top of her and her body lay motionless. Bakugou stood there for a moment before springing into action. He had ran to her and shoved the concrete off of her, turning her over. She was bleeding from her forehead and Bakugou was instantly panicked, shouting for Recovery Girl and the medics. He didn’t even give a shit that he was making a scene in front of people he didn’t care for; he had almost killed his girlfriend.
He was terrified.
Everything after that was a blur. He wasn’t allowed into the examination room and stood outside of it like a watchdog. When Deku and the four-eyed bastard came waltzing down the hall, one glare had sent them scurrying off in the opposite direction. Their relationship hadn’t improved very much over the past three years at UA, though Bakugou became more tolerant of Deku.
Not in that moment though. Bakugou wanted nothing or nobody to come near this door unless it was crucial to Uraraka’s health.
He still had to continue through the rounds. And he won. All he saw was red as he pummeled Four Eyes and Deku into the ground. Neither stood a goddamn chance, even with their improvements.
When everything was over and the gold medal was around his neck, he stood his ground outside of the nurse’s room until the old woman came out. Bakugou didn’t have to say a thing; usually he never conveyed anything but anger but he was clearly worried.
“I’m sorry dearie,” she said, clasping her hands together, “We had to place her in a medically induced coma.”
“How long?” Bakugou asked grimly.
Recovery Girl shook her head. “A week at most.”
Bakugou had clenched his fists and his nostrils flared before he stormed off down the hall. He had to get out of there. He had to go home. It was weird going home without Uraraka beside him; he was going home alone, to a daughter who had become accustomed to both of her parents arriving together.
Bakugou felt as if his life was in slow motion for that first day, and the few there after. When he returned home he didn’t feel like a champion; rather, he felt something he rarely felt: remorse.
“Katsuki.” His mother stood from the couch, looking at him with concerned eyes. Kazumi was fussy in her arms and clearly was looking to break out, making little grunting noises. She was cranky. Bakugou had never seen her like that before.
Masaru stood too and Bakugou went right to him, dropping his forehead to his father’s shoulder. He ground his teeth together to halt the urge to cry. His body was extremely rigid with how much effort he was putting into not sobbing. “It’s okay to cry, son.”
Of course his parents knew. They had been watching all day.
Bakugou was far from a pretty crier. He hurt his jaw trying to resist the compulsion and kept swallowing his snot. Ultimately he lost and the tears fell freely, his father’s arms secure around him. He barely remembered the last time his father held him but he vaguely recalled a broken ankle and his father carrying him into the emergency room. He was six then, eighteen now. Eighteen year old hero wannabes don’t cry over almost killing their girlfriends.
But right now that didn’t matter. Because Bakugou was an eighteen year old studying to be a hero and he almost killed his girlfriend, who was also the mother of his child.
There was no noise as he cried. It was silent and the only way his father knew he was crying was by the trembling of his shoulders. Bakugou didn’t want to think about the look his parents were sharing. He didn’t want to think about how pathetic he looked right now, a tearful mess.
He pulled away with a tear stained face and reached for Kazumi immediately. He hated the sympathetic looks on his parents faces and wanted to spit in them. But he wasn’t feeling particularly spiteful; in fact, he was feeling quite numb. So he didn’t do anything. Just carried Kazumi up the stairs and instead of going into his own room went into Uraraka’s. They both would find comfort there.
He sat the baby on the bed and climbed in beside her, Kazumi immediately falling into him. She wasn’t as fussy as she was when she was in Mitsuki’s arms.
“I’m sorry for hurting your mom,” Bakugou whispered it to her, more for himself than anything. Kazumi wasn’t going to understand him but he knew the sentiment would count.
The next few days without Uraraka were hell. Kazumi was teething and it was all up to Bakugou to handle that during the night. Kazumi refused to chew on the teething rings and seemed to only like it when Bakugou’s finger was in her mouth, even though his sweat was gross and possibly toxic. Bakugou definitely hadn’t been giving Uraraka enough credit when she dealt with Kazumi during the night when he slept on.
“I need my finger back.” He said one night, propped up against the pillows while dangling his fingers above his daughter’s head. She was staring at them in fascination, as if she had never seen fingers before. She reached for them and he pulled them out of her reach, loving the way her nose scrunched up in disappointment. It reminded him of the same thing he did when he was younger when something didn’t go his way. He still did the same thing but refused to acknowledge it.
“You’re getting it all slimy. It’s pretty gross.” He continued on as he finally let her have his hand, his fingers going straight into her mouth. Kazumi looked content with Bakugou’s fingers in her mouth. “You know, I don’t give your mom enough credit. She does all of this and I barely do a damn thing.”
Big eyes started slipping shut and Bakugou removed his fingers from her mouth, replacing them with a pacifier. This time she didn’t fuss but she was already halfway to slumber. Bakugou watched her for a little while, wide awake now that he had been up with her. He understood now the bags under Uraraka’s eyes and wished she came to him for help more often. This was supposed to be his responsibility; he wanted to help.
Kazumi seemed to wake up every hour because of her teeth and Bakugou rarely slept for the next few days. Not that he was sleeping much to begin with, too worried about Uraraka to care for himself. Every day after class he was sitting beside her bed, asking Recovery Girl when she was going to wake up. Recovery Girl gave him the same answer every time.
“Until the swelling on her brain goes down.”
Bakugou hated that answer the third time he got it. But that may just be because Uraraka missed Kazumi’s “7 month” picture and it was up to Bakugou to take it. He didn’t even want his mother coming near his daughter until he had to go to school.
“Do you want any help?” Mitsuki asked one morning, elbows on the table as she cradled a cup of coffee.
“I’d rather die.” Bakugou said, spooning smashed peas into Kazumi’s mouth. However, she thought it was funny to blow raspberries at that same moment and the green food went all over her face. Bakugou grunted and took her bib, wiping her face as gently as he could in his annoyed state.
“Katsuki-”
“Forget it!” Bakugou shouted, gripping the peas in his hand, almost shattering the glass. Mitsuki touched his wrist and he dropped it onto the table.
“I know you’re stressed and upset. I’m upset just watching you.”
Bakugou scoffed. “Oh really?”
Mitsuki leaned back and crossed her arms over her chest. “I know you think everything I do is to get in your way but I’m trying to help you, Katsuki. I am your mother after all.”
“Yeah you just love reminding me.”
“You know, I could’ve kicked you both to the curb.” Mitsuki’s eyes flashed a little bit. “But I would never fucking do that to you. So stop acting like a superior little shit and take the help every once in awhile. It won’t kill you like you seem to think.”
Bakugou snarled and finished feeding Kazumi, who had no idea who was going on. She just smiled with her mouth framed with green and repeatedly pat her palms against the tray of her high chair. She made little humming noises in the back of her throat, completely unbothered.
“Give her a bath.” Bakugou muttered as he pushed away from the table, giving Kazumi a quick kiss on her head before shoving his feet into his shoes by the door. He could hear his daughter immediately begin to whine behind him but he only grabbed his bag, slung it over his shoulder, and slammed the door behind him. He shoved his hands into his pockets and trudged down the street towards the train. He wanted nothing more than to stay home with Kazumi but if he was going to school then he would be able to see Uraraka.
The train ride was uneventful and he was able to get people to stand away from him by glaring at them, giving off an aura of death if they got too close. This was a little bit harder to do when he got to UA, nobody was scared of him after knowing that he was pretty much a bluff. He stalked into his classroom with no time for him to go see Uraraka before class. As much as he didn’t give a shit, he would never willingly skip a class.
“Uh, Kacchan?” Deku’s voice came from behind him and Bakugou’s whole body tensed up. He didn’t turn around.
“What?”
“Can I come with you today? To the hospital ward to see Uraraka-san?” Deku asked. His voice was kind and didn’t waver once with nervousness.
“Absolutely fucking not.”
“I don’t think that’s really fair.”
Bakugou whipped around to face him, eyes wide. “Did I fucking ask?”
“No.” Deku held his gaze. Todoroki was behind him, a little ways away. Bakugou thought it was funny how he had his own personal bodyguard. “But I really would like to come with you.”
“I bet you would. But you fucking can’t.”
Deku swallowed and his fingers cracked at his sides when he twitched. “I think it’s unfair that I can’t see her when you’re the reason why she’s there in the first place.”
Bakugou let his words sink it. He was honestly a little struck that Deku had said that to him; he didn’t think the pipsqueak had the balls. With the way he was puffing out his chest, however, he may not be as confident as Bakugou thought.
“You wanna repeat that?”
Deku wet his split lips. “I-I think it’s unfair how you put her in the hospital bed yet none of us but you are allowed to see her.”
Bakugou clicked his tongue against his teeth. He really couldn’t believe that this was happening right now. The fucking shitstain in front of him was really talking back to him. He never would have guessed it, in all the years that he’s known the kid.
“You know, I didn’t think I’d get to see the day you’d fucking die but the day has finally come.” Before Deku even had the chance to think about what Bakugou had just said, the latter grabbed the front of Deku’s uniform. He had every intention in slamming him into the ground even when Deku gripped his wrists tightly, but a bony hand clamped on his shoulder. Bakugou was about to whip around to tell Aizawa off, but his jaw went slack when he saw the one and only All Might standing there with a grim smile on his face.
“Young Bakugou,” All Might warbled. “May I talk to you for a moment?”
Bakugou was so shocked that he let go of Deku’s tie. Despite losing his abilities, All Might hadn’t lost his shock factor. He was still the hero that Bakugou grew up loving and admiring; All Might was the type of hero that Bakugou aspired to be. The last time they had spoken alone was in Bakugou’s first year when he blamed himself for the loss of the hero’s quirk. The guilt was still there but Bakugou was dealing with it one step at a time.
“Yeah.” Bakugou was breathless when he spoke and All Might nodded, turning to head out of the classroom. Everybody watched as he went and Bakugou stood there for a moment before following him out, almost in a trance. He didn’t know what All Might wanted, but he felt a little bit honored that he wanted anything to do with him.
The older man led him down a couple of hallways before they arrived at the teacher’s lounge. All Might groaned as he sat down in his chair and motioned for Bakugou to do the same. Tentatively, Bakugou sat across from him.
“You know, Young Bakugou,” All Might paused to cough, turning his head away so Bakugou wouldn’t see the worst of it. “Heroes do not take their aggression out on those just trying to help.”
Bakugou wanted to argue. But he was done talking back to All Might. If this was Aizawa, sure. He’d be as much of an ass as possible. But with all of Bakugou’s guilt, he swallowed any snarky response back along with the bile rising in his throat.
“I wish I could tell you I know what it feels like to see somebody I love hurt - and to have them be in that state by my hand. But I do know what it’s like to not be able to save somebody, to be so close but ultimately not being fast enough. It’s frustrating, so on that aspect I understand where you’re coming from.”
Refusing to look up, Bakugou clenched his fists in his lap. It hurt knowing that his hero felt something similar to him now. He didn’t want to feel this way nor did he want anybody else to feel this way. Hopeless. It was the most pathetic feeling of them all.
“I hurt her.” Bakugou said softly. “My kid was watching .”
All Might gripped his shoulder, steadying the quaking limb. “It was an accident. We all know you would never try to hurt her, at least not like that. It was a fight, so one of you was bound to get hurt. I for one think it was quite cruel to make the two of you go up against each other in an unfriendly manner.” He drummed his fingers against the back of Bakugou’s shoulder blade. “Just because you’re upset, does not mean you can go around using others as your punching bag.”
Bakugou ground his teeth. He wanted to spew shit about Deku but All Might was Deku’s mentor. He was Deku’s hero too. He ground his teeth to fight back the urge.
“I just wanted to see how you were dealing with everything. I never had children of my own, but I’m sure it’s hard taking care of a child by yourself.”
“My parents help me.” Bakugou muttered.
“Well that’s very kind of them.” All Might removed his hand. “If you never need anything, my boy, you know where to find me. I’m always willing to listen.”
Bakugou probably would’ve cried if he had been told that as a young child. It was something he dreamed about. For now he only nodded. All Might sighed and that was enough dismissal from him. Bakugou stood and shoved his hands into his pockets, trudging back into his classroom. They had already started the lesson and eighteen pairs of eyes followed him, Aizawa ignoring him and continuing to drone on. He stayed to himself for the remainder of the school day, not giving in to Kirishima, Kaminari or Sero’s taunts.
Surprisingly, he allowed Deku to accompany him to the nurse’s wing. He stayed outside the room, slumped against the wall and staring at his dirtied sneakers scuffing up the linoleum floor. Deku didn’t take long and for a few seconds he thought the green haired twerp was going to walk away without saying a thing. But Deku was too good for that.
“Thanks, Kacchan.” It was simple but it was something. Bakugou only scowled at the ground and listened to Deku’s red kicks click against the floor until he couldn’t hear it anymore.
When Bakugou was sure he was alone, he entered the room. The sun was slowly setting outside and the sky mimicked the same oranges and pinks that were up on the roof over two years ago. Weird to think how long ago that had been. So much had changed. Bakugou sort of hated it, but he also wouldn’t change a thing.
He sat beside Uraraka and the chair was warm. He knew that Deku had sat here too but he wasn’t petty enough that day to switch chairs. He only took Uraraka’s limp hand in his and rolled her lithe fingers in his palm. He vaguely wondered what a ring would look like on the fourth finger but brushed the thoughts from his head. It was much too early for that. But he didn’t discard the option.
“I’m sorry,” he began, as he had every day since the accident. “I talked to All Might early. He started going on about how he knew how I was feeling. I think I almost cried. Bullshit right?” Bakugou didn’t care about being vulnerable; nobody else was there but them.
“Nugget misses you. She still won’t stop chewing on my fingers. It’s fucking weird.” He huffed a laugh. “I miss you too, honestly. Shit ain’t the same without you.” He looked out the window for a moment before going over what she had missed during the day. He always reiterated their lessons knowing she was listening. Even if she remained expressionless, he knew she was listening.
This went on for about twenty minutes or so before Bakugou sighed and stood. He took one more look at her before turning to leave. The door creaked when he opened it and he considered turning on the light so she wasn’t in the dark. He hesitated.
He was glad he did.
“Bakugou?” Her voice was dry behind him. His fingers spasmed over the light switched. He flicked it on and turned into the room again. Crimson eyes wide he fixed them on the pale young woman in the bed looking at him with confusion.
“Holy shit.”
“What…?” She looked around and her head fell back against the pillows. “What happened at the Sports Festival?”
He took up the seat he had occupied only moments ago and grabbed her hand, bringing her knuckles to his lips. Uraraka’s eyes grew immensely wider but she didn’t pull her hand away. “Katsuki?”
“You’ve been out for like a week now, holy fuck.” Bakugou couldn’t believe it. Had he gotten through to her? He refused to believe it was Deku.
Uraraka’s jaw went slack. “A week?” Her voice was raspy and he searched the room for a cup to fill with water. He was sure she was thirsty. But he had to get Recovery Girl first. And a teacher. Somebody.
“I… I’m sorry.” Bakugou whispered and leaned over, kissing her on the lips. For once hers were more chapped than his. She was still against the pillows and only stared when he pulled away. Bakugou rushed out of the room to find somebody. He had to let everybody know that Uraraka was awake.
He just hoped that she could forgive him for hurting her this time.

Meet Midoriya Yasuragi ( 安らぎ )!
yasuragi ( 安らぎ ) — (n.; n-adj.)peace (of mind), tranquility, tranquility, serenity
Judging by her overall theme, even her name is a nod to Sailor Moon, since in the english dub, Usagi is known as Serena, or Princess Serenity.
It’s funny, because Yasuragi can be a little too enthusiastic and/or curious sometimes to the point a person would want some tranquility in their lives.
Quirk: Flint n’ SteelYasuragi is able to create steel wires from her body which can retain intensive heat and even create fire on itself via self-made friction. Apparently, her saliva glands are also capable of creating saliva with traces of kerosene in it at will – a possible trait handed down to her from her Midoriya-grandfather thanks to his fire-breathing Quirk. Using it would make her wires flammable, but nobody wants to see her pulling wires out from her mouth, right? The main drawback behind this Quirk is similar to Yayoi’s Quirk: iron deficiency when overused. Dehydration is also another depending on whether she’s using her saliva or not.
Yasuragi apparently seems to take after Hirose more than Midoriya in terms of her display of energy. Sometimes, that energy even affects her personality, making her more enthusiastic and eager to express, especially when it’s over something she’s extremely passionate about. For the most part, though, Yasuragi is humble and laid-back, making sure to be mindful of others even if there’s a need to speak her mind, and nothing brightens up her day better than knowing she’s accomplished something, however small it may be.
Empathy is also strong in this one, and so is preferring the act of giving rather than receiving. Because she bears a selfless heart of gold, Yasuragi is almost always ready to throw everything down for those she cares about and especially those who can’t protect themselves. Granted, she certainly does her best to think before she acts, but whenever it comes down to it, Yasuragi notoriously known for following her heart and guts. Fortunately, her gut instincts are almost always right. Almost. And much like Midoriya, once she gets upset, aggressive, or in the ‘need to win’ mindset, Yasuragi is also prone to acting brash or abrasive, and sometimes even running her own mouth. More often than not, though, she ends up reflecting her behavior thereafter. The one thing she hates most is when she doesn’t keep herself in check, so moments where she snaps will always be towards a significant topic. She’s also a sympathetic crier. And sometimes even an angry crier.
Because she can get so enthusiastic towards whatever makes her passionate for it, Yasuragi has spent many sleepless nights reading through all of her father’s hero analysis notebooks, fascinated by the origins of her own keen, analytical and observational abilities. She’d try and do the same thing herself, but her need to get every single detail down would probably make it impossible to limit it to just notebooks.
For some strange reason, Yasuragi also has a strange affinity for red wears like Deku, as indicated by her red glasses. She’s also a fashionista, and pretty much has the same tastes as Hirose (to which her mother must be relieved about, since Deku is a lost cause with fashion).
Yasuragi is also a fan Sailor Moon, PreYure (the apparently-BnHA-equivalent of PreCure), and other magical girl shows. There’s a pretty good chance that the majority of her childhood was spent purely on time with her mom watching all sorts of these kinds of shows. Just sayin’.She also loves the Sanrio characters Cinnamoroll and My Melody.

It’s here, folx! It’s finally here! United States of Smash! I just…does this sound as stupid to Japanese folk as it does to us? Because…this is a tender moment. Goodbye AFO! Goodbye OFA  😢 But then this? Pure comedy. Right in the middle. Just when you thought All Might couldn’t be any sillier. He shows his himbo self to us all. God love him. But don’t let him name ANYTHING again.
Tumblr media
Ugh, this moment freaking GETS me. If I were a crier, I’d cry right. Hecking. NOW. The feeling that Izuku is dealing with, that overwhelm—you can totally feel the weight of it. I’ve read commentary before arguing that Izuku cries a lot, but it’s either for comedy or super warranted—it’s not extraneous. And I agree. I love Izuku’s sensitivity and the fact that he’s an easy crier. And it’s so warranted here. I mean, dude has a lot to cry about by this point.
And, if that weren’t enough, we have Bakugou witnessing. First of all, the act of witness is a beautiful thing. And that’s really what Bakugou is doing here. He sees what’s happening, takes it in, but doesn’t interfere with the situation. He doesn’t even seem to judge it in this moment (although it may be fair to say that he does later). I just love everything about this moment. Heartbreaking, profound, deep, caretaking. 😌
Tumblr media
God, I know that AFO is just been an egotistical dickwad, but he does realize that he’s been mentoring Shiggy for, what, 15 years? And All Might’s only been mentoring Midoriya for, what? A little over a year by this point? Besides, the field is still pretty wide open. I guess AFO knows a lot more about Shiggy than we do, but, from what we know, Shiggy doesn’t seem quite sophisticated as an enemy yet. And, truly, AFO knows very little about Deku’s methodology as a hero. He has some awareness of his prowess—or lack thereof—over OFA but he doesn’t know Deku. He thinks he knows everything, but has no clue what’s coming next.
Tumblr media
Overall: I know I was complaining about this fight and AFO in the last chapter, but I do love the end of this. I love that All Might actually loses OFA. A critique that I hear for BNHA is that the characters don’t really deal with heavy enough consequences (stuff like Recovery Girl meaning that Deku can be ripped apart only for it to come to matter very little) and…I see the validity to that argument. But here we do have a real loss in All Might, even though he doesn’t die. And then the way it hits Deku is just wonderful. It’s a good arc.
