Can we please agree that this shit is not okay to do to an author?

If an author wants their fandom life known, fine, talk about it all you want. Don't out them as a fanfic writer when they clearly don't want to be known as one. And yeah, maybe it shouldn't matter but that doesn't mean that it doesn't matter and that it's your place to decide that for anyone other than yourself.

#you know how we all go on about keeping fandom away from creators/cast/etc? that also works for someone's fandom life and their real life #and if you must do it do it on some fandom place where the only people who will see it are also in fandom #don't do it on goodreads or twitter where people who aren't in fandom are going to see it and go “ew”#and tbh i haven't read harry potter fanfic in a long long long time (like... 20 years long time)#but this novel did not strike me as fanfic-y in style or tone or character #at worst it struck me as trope-y and melodramatic but fanfic has hardly cornered the market on that #text posts #god the thought of this being done to me is like.......... fuck #(it's not about thinking fandom is lesser it's about the fact that yeah people fucking judge you for it)#(and there's things i've written that i do not want to explain to people in my real life or to random people)

His betrayal was political but it also had far more personal #ramifications for everyone involved - most people simply did not expect it from him and cooperated with him precisely because of that #which enabled him to seize power before most people even realized what he was doing #And there's the fact that he actually did stage a conspiracy by accusing the Woodvilles of plotting to attack and ambush him #and produced weapons from his own war in Scotland as fake 'proof' - when in fact we know that HE deceived and ambushed THEM #there's also the (propagandic) lie that they usurped him from the position as Lord Protector when they certainly didn't #either Edward IV didn't appoint Richard Lord Protector meaning the Woodvilles denied him nothing #OR the council collectively chose to have a council rule during Edward V's minority rather than a Protector (something they were entirely #within their rights to do both socially and legally)#so claims that they wrongly defied Edward IV's last wishes or broke the law (which Mancini repeats in his account) must be seen as exactly #that - propagandic lies to vilify EW and her family #when in fact Richard was the one plotting a seizure of power - whether it was as Lord Protector or as King #(of course these are just two things - there's a whole laundry list of others)#so this is definitely applicable to him

I feel like I should have done this at the end of 2023 or smth, but maybe not.

I just took a picture of my desktop, and this is the work of one year, almost 200k words of ideas and wips that I wasn't able to finish and publish through the year now passed. But I don't want to look at this and say it's a failure, maybe it is but it's also the foundation for all the things I'm gonna do, continue and possibly finish in this new year.

And lol, silly me for not writing some of the ideas down because I honestly don't remember what some of these documents were about - damn.

Writers, write your ideas and plots down because the brain is stupid, but y'all already know this, don't ya 💀

So, like... this is my 2023 writing recap, yayyy. 44 wips (and some more that are just titles/ideas and I haven't started yet) and 5 published works.

If someone is curious about something hit me up... I'll always answer as fast as I can unless I'm sleeping, so yeah. We'll see what happens in 2024... so now.

one thing i’m learning about ororo as i continue to read through her appearances is that the thing that eats at her the most is the responsibility she bears and how, for all the power she possesses, can never be in two places at once. she leaves krakoa, arakko begins to fall apart and vice versa. her allies (i.e., emma + isca the unbeaten) disparage her for it because they believe certain problems are more important than others. ororo is not the kind of woman who will choose to shoulder the burden alone (the difference between her and charles) but the pressure that others put on her re: her responsibilities is weighty.
