Hey, if you're having a good lol at Trump's ridiculously tiny hands on that New Yorker cover, then I hope you know that I -- a transmasc AFAB person with small hands and gotdamn do I wish I could change that -- am taking notes on Who Thinks Laughing At Transphobic Humor Is Fine, Actually, As Long As I Personally Think The Target Deserves It.

I am not telling anyone what to do, or not do; and here on our beloved hellsite, I am a total unknown to about 99.999944% of you, meaning you have essentially no reason to care what I think.

Maybe you've got a friend who's got Small Hands, though. Maybe he's dysphoric about it, or they get clocked a lot because of it, or xe is just tired of people pointing it out. Maybe at some point you told them, her, whatever, that no, there is nothing wrong with nir hands. They aren't laughable. Those are good hands, dammit, and you don't see a single funny thing about them, and anyone who does is just an asshole.

Oh, your friend might think, looking from your reaction to that image, and then down at their own little hands. So that was a lie, then.

Intellectual honesty would seem to lead to the conclusion that these cheap physical-appearance-based digs are either always appropriate regardless of your opinion of the target, or that they are never appropriate regardless of your opinion of the target. If you are scrambling to justify why it's totally cool, actually, to use transphobic humor if only you can find a target who's bad enough to "deserve" it -- that means you think transness can be worth mockery. You're just saving the transphobia for when you think nobody in the room will call you out for it.

I'm not the boss of you, though, so. If you really insist on your sacred right to being able to make fun of a dude's girly hands -- some dude, somewhere, there has to be a situation where you can finally make these jokes that you've been sitting on all this time -- then I guess that is your decision.

(same with any other kind of humor that trades on bigoted stereotypes. believe me, I'm not looking forward to all the upcoming political cartoons that will Very Creatively exaggerate Trump's weight, either.)

when i vent about how shipping culture and romance in media has led to aspec discrimination and a corrosion of friendship in real life some people respond to it with "well you're aspec and dislike to ship however i'm allo and it's a part of me to like shipping" they literally miss my point. i don't dislike ships. i have a few ships myself. it's completely valid to enjoy these aspects as a personal preference. i dislike shipping CULTURE and the insistence that everything must be romantic/sexual.

amanormativity is the reason why friendships in real life are treated as inherently lesser than a romantic relationship. it's why people get made fun of for being virgins when everyone should just mind their damn business. and it reflects hard in the fandom preference for everything ship-related and pushing aside anything else. also saying it's inherently allo to ship sounds really fucking amanormative to me but what can i say

the fact that Cellbit had to expose himself in so many different ways to get people to fuck off is not okay. Nobody should have to do that, ever. As somebody who is asexual myself and had a traumatic relationship a few years ago, I can’t even begin to comprehend what Cellbit is going through right now, having to share everything to the internet is a nightmare come true for him. and I am so fucking proud of the guy for being himself and sharing all of that, even though he shouldn’t have to. He handled it very maturely and I have immense respect for him because of it. Everyone from qsmp who has talked about meeting him irl has said what a sweet person he is, stop trying to vilify somebody because of where they’re from. It’s fucked up.

The xenophobia in the community is getting worse, and it needs to stop here. I don’t care where you’re from or who you are, we’re all people no matter where we’re born or what language we speak. Being a xenophobic piece of shit is exactly the opposite of what Quackity wanted for qsmp. Brazilians, we love you guys so much <3

we’re here to build people up and encourage learning and communication across cultures. Without discrimination of any kind. If you can’t do that, get out of the fanbase. Oh jeez, I don't really get too much into topics like this (mostly cuz I feel too uninformed too speak on it) but I may as well give my general opinion

I obviously don't think "selfcest" is a concept that's super heinous and morally incorrect, it's a shipping trope that's mostly based upon satire (for most I think) and something out of the realm of reality. And as long as everyone involved in the ship is a consenting adult and it's not hurting anyone then I see no issue 🤷

But that's only my opinion. I've had fun with ships of alternate selves for years and (hopefully fortunately) I haven't really seen much discourse on the matter other than the usual "*snorts* ur shipping him with himself LOL #cRiNgE *shits self*" so my opinion is only from the perspective of a blissfully ignorant bystander lol

It's so wild to me to see antis on Tiktok saying people who like a certain type of fiction need therapy. Because there was a video on my FYP of a woman talking about how she felt no remorse after torturing a disabled man to death.

And when I tell you that comment section is FILLED with people saying "I like her" and "people are just scared by her honesty" and "slay" and "I feel like I'd be friends with her."

I promise you there are actual people in this world who need help.

omg full disclosure: I spent way too long in the reylo fandom to even dabble in hellcheer discourse 😭 when that huge explosion of discourse was going on at the beginning I was impartially blocking anyone who brought up shit like st3ddie superiority and bashed on hellcheer as abusive/pedophilic/etc

I guess maybe the craziest thing is just the blatant refusal for people sowing the discourse to accept that Joe himself said everything with Chrissy was done with romantic interest? and that, even when asked directly, he completely deflected questions regarding the other ship, but they created narratives of Eddie regardless

The lil corner of the Good Omens fandom that I generally see is getting more and more into publicly declaring that That Theory I Dislike Is Bad And People Who Ascribe To It Should Feel Bad, and I don't know if it's really new, or if I was just lucky enough to generally be missed with that shit the last four years.

Different people's brains work differently, which means they will notice things, form interpretations, maybe come to extremely firm conclusions, all different from each others'. Different from mine, different from yours.

I get that some people think that they have the brain which produces the Objectively Superior theories (and/or which can easily determine which other people's theories are the Objectively Inferior ones). I just really missed the memo where Your Interpretation Is Not My Interpretation (And That's Okay) was dragged out back and fucking shot.

Anyway this blog is an "I may not agree with your theory but you may trust that I won't publicly heap scorn upon the very idea of having it" zone if anyone was wondering.

One thing about canto VI is like. I see so many people predicting it'll be about Fighting Evil Wife or Breaking Codependent Toxic Relationship and I just kinda think that would suck? If the major theme isn't grief AND love and the way both are seen as like Kinda Weird/inappropriate in the setting of the city. Then I'll be very sad.

Ok so it looks like ship charts have been going around and not too long ago, I made my own cause I noticed the other one didn’t have a lot of the characters and I wanted one that did. I finally finished adding my own lines tonight (I also added Comeau, Jason Kim, Sandra and Monique cause I forgot to add them when I originally made this) so here’s my easy to digest opinions on the different ships!

Don’t feel offended if your OTP isn’t a top pairing for me and it’s in something like ‘it’s ok’. I respect that you like it, its just not my thing. if it’s a ship you hate in one of the top spots, well be respectful please and thank you :]
