I think this has started to become clear from some of her threads, but Spider Girl Gabi is more than a little bit of a mess, which honestly, just makes her a Spider Person in some ways.
Now seems like a good time to talk a bit more into some of her physical characteristics and her body dysmorphia with some of it.
Gabi's accident happened when she was around 13 - 14, which means the ol' puberty metaphor is all the more apt and being a 2099 Spider Person the physical changes were more pronounced. From Gabi's perspective she was in a lab accident while there with her father. She does not know what her father was working on, but we can kind of guess that he was experimenting on himself/trying to alter his DNA because of rapture etc. Minus the accidental spider, it may have done what it was meant to.
The TL:DR of it is that she's looking at graceful dancer inspired Gwen with a fair amount of jealousy while also chilling with Spider Ham bemoaning how much he misses the days of just being a plain old spider before he was bit by the irradiated pig saying "preach, lil' pig. I know those horrors well."
For those who are interested more about her physical characteristics below the cut.
We've covered most of the big ones already - red eyes, talons, fangs, hunger, organic webs and predatory vibes - but she also assumes her overall size was likely impacted by the lab-created Spider Person issue.
Gabi is pretty tall. She'd probably claim to be 5'10" - 5'11" but in reality she's probably closer to 6' - 6'1" which is totally clear to anyone looking at her, but she'll still lie. In truth, her height may have nothing to do with anything other than her plain old human genetics (Miggy's a big ol' guy after all), but she she definitely had some pretty immediate and painful growth spurts post-transformation so it helped things along at minimum.
She's more obviously muscular than some of the other Spider Girl's. She doesn't necessarily need to work to maintain these muscles thanks to altered DNA, but she also can't hide them. She can hide with less form-fitting clothes, but her arms, legs, and back muscles are bulkier than she would choose to be in another life. She is self-conscious about this and informs a lot of how she dresses.
Her organic webs also come out of spinnerets in her arms, just above the inside ofbher wrist. They aren't the most noticeable and to lay people, she can easily play it off as a scar or mole or what have you (besides if a lay person is most concerned about that, she's probably mostly in the clear lol), but she's very self-conscious about them around Spider People who being science-minded Spider People likely make a big deal about them and in a way that's not super mindful that she's their co-worker not their lab experiment.
She's proud of what she's able to do, all the more so when a Miguel is willing to say nice job to her, but she's very guarded and isolated even among Spider People in some cases by her own choice.

Been watching Ben 10 and I gotta say, for a mid-2000's show it's surprisingly normal about fat people ? Like one of the main character is fat, (and used to be thin) and there's no off color joke, no gross framing no nothing ? And there's regularly minor characters who just... happen to be fat.
Like, don't get me wrong, it's not revolutionary or anything, the protagonist and most of the characters are thin, and I'm only partway through season 2 so they have ample time to fuck it up, but I gotta say, that's a pleasant surprise. The bar is really low, but most shows still manage to deep dive under it :/
Seriously, the grandpa is fat, and he's pretty kickass and physically fit, and any physical limitation are because he's old. Like again, that's a low bar to pass, but it's kinda refreshing.

tried out a new fanasy title and realized too late it was a YA. Listen, listne I get the merit of self indulgence fantasy but honestly, whenever I encounter blank slate fantasies of being the best, the love interst being the best wishfulfillment fantasy, and printed hardcover works costing more than 20$+... the less I feel like condeming x-reader-fanfics. Because at least they're honest about what they are. They don't leave me with a premise ,and world building, and half-thought through ideas that could've been great an exciting. Yet these only serve to make amp out the ecitement around a reader's ideal how cool, awesome, right, and rebellious they could be with their cardboard husbando. And I can block tags or users If I don't care to read that.
Also, dear very friendly woman from the library who probably means well but why do you think that a woman asking for "fantasy books" means asking for romance with cosplay set-up? It's like being a teenager all over again, and everyone thinks that your first bra comes along with the wish to read tertiary grade stories about self-projection avatars smooching variations of aspectless dudes with eitehr fangs, wings, furry, or glitter.
Like, um, well... I see the legitimacy in audiences wanting to read indulgence. But it's not for me. At least not on this level in form of a published book through 500 pages. It's so weird how mainstream publishing only ever offers such fantasy stories written by women for female audiences these days. If publication ever only counts on female indulgence, there's little room for stories with characters with agency, let alone women being interesting above the level of having a avater to project on.

I want to know what on the ph front page could even begin to APPROACH a topic worthy of "intellectual conversation." Look dad here's brutalized gangbang latina teen isn't that just so niche? Let's talk about what we can learn from bukkake. Lets disucss the merits of milf bdsm. LIKE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT PERSON ACTUALLY.
I just think it’s really weird and gross of the dad. I don’t expect a 17 year old to see these things as weird, especially if they were raised in an environment where it’s apparently been okay for the dad to bring up “wondering how people watch adult content now” -> something he could have asked any coworker, he chose to ask his child. And then he agrees to not only sit and look at the front page, but to talk about it and then have the kid grow up thinking it’s a “haha funny” story instead of a WTF…. Type thing. It’s not the kids fault, solely the dads.

There's a bit of a disucssion on how to add blush to characters with melanin on twitter and I kinda lowkey got tired of people pretending there's only two options. Of course my guide doesn't capture all of them but here are the ones I actually can formulate opinions on!
Here's the alt text:
This is mostly my personal opinion. It's not the law on adding blush to character's with melanin as we don't blush at all. Blood doesn't show through melanin so it's harder to capture things like light scattering and blush. However it's still desired to portray blushing! This is a quick guide on how I feel about a few stylistic choices people make to add blush or blush effects!
Outlined simple circles are one one of my favorites! They're not really at all realistic but follow the same stylisitc rules as anger marks like this which I believe makes them passable and more universal!
Smooth Pink Blush is my least favorite approach. I probably didn't really try to do it justice but most people don't really try applying light pink make up for blush from what I've seen. Make up is realtively a good reference "realistic approach for the hypothetical". I'm sure there are situations where it works, but I've never seen a case where it looks particular good.
(I'm being nice about this one btw.)
Darker Brown Blush is fine! It can sometimes go very wrong if you use desaturated browns however and it does not give the same impression as a blush. Remember that blushes are caused by a blood in the face. It's good! But if not executed correctly it can sometimes not work all that well.
Other than outlined circles/ovals I enjoy the approach of red-browns being used for blush. It keeps in mind what blushes are caused by while also keeping in mind that melanin would probably act more as a filter. Makes things look a little more lively than number 3!
Univesal best option , these can be light pink. You've won the lottery if you do this.
(Blushes made with slash marks since I didn't give a descriptor)

Language transfer was as easy as kissing Robin, however, utilizing it was more like molding clay.
Starfire was not a stranger to foreign conversations in Jump City. Such as the time a tourist tripped over the rough language which clearly sat funny in their mouth. She knew to a degree it's delay and the familiar irritation of other civilians. For her, the clay was a moderate level that still took too long to shape.
How pathetic I must be, she bemoaned after her sister's return. Blackfire was better at English than her and she had been here longer. She had friends who spoke it in many versitile ways everyday. Still, she stumbled much like in the battle of a familiar opponent with new tricks.
Perhaps, it was due to Robin's understanding of his own tongue. He's young and fluent to a degree in multiple languages. Although, he never did the messing up like her. Yes, he was more comfortable with English but the Spanish speaker by the dock's grasped grammar, slang, puns, and euphemisms better than her.
It made her wonder if this was simply a wall she would never climb over. If not a wall, than a gate she could look through at the others prosperity. She understood vocal cues, facial expressions, and the waving of the hands that signaled for a topic to be dropped. She understood many things common to Tamaran
"I don't understand," she had spoke up.
Was she supposed to know those boys were being inappropriate? Their slang was different than Beast Boy's or Cyborg's or even Robin. How was she expected to know something she was never taught? She didn't like the assumption she should've known and she should've asked for others to explain it. She was a warrior and capable and how awkward it would be to disucss such things with her teammates.
She was once made aware that parents usually explain such things to their children. Or you'd learn it in a classroom so it didn't seem appropriate to ask them. Even if her friend's would sheepishly give her an answer. Maybe, Robin since they are so close and he teaches her the most.
Or what about the shopping spree at the local corner store where someone spitting vocab like rocks into a lake? The good Samaritans running late behind them angered at the time it was taking. There was a barrier between all as even Starfire couldn't put together what they meant.
Then, there was the time an opponent underestimated her. The alien who couldn't speak properly or know what a hydro-whatever was, was definitely not much a fight. As if her strength was blocked and measured by a simple tongue flick. War was not about the loudest scream.
She was saddened or more so tired. If only the world and her, worked the same as her small knit teammates. The one's who explained to her when she didn't comprehend. The one's who didn't put her down like she did herself for not grasping English quick enough. Who didn't dismiss her for being foreign or for attempting to learn.
She was so much more than the joke.

Time is a Bottle: Nighttime Disucssions
“Sometimes I feel like I took you away from the life that you wanted,” Jiang Fengmian admitted to his husband that night as they are about to settle in for the night. His hair was braided over his shoulder and smelled like roses. His sleeping robes are Wei Changze’s old robes, loose and smelling like him. His husband frowned and turned to look at him.
“A-Xiao,” Wei Changze asked as he tries to get his husband to look at him, “Why are you saying this?” Jiang Fengmian bites his lip and shakes his head trying to hold the tears back. “My love, my darling,” he gently pries the abused muscle with his thumb and soothes it, “What happened that upsets you so?” he cups his beloved’s cheek to raise his bowed head to look at him. Beloved gray-blue eyes look at him, finally, Jiang Fengmian speaks.
“It’s just that,” He breathes out, then he stops, and continues on, “All I have ever heard from your family was that you left so that you could seek adventure, to go out into this world and experience everything that it could give you as a rogue cultivator.” Jiang Fengmian sniffles and hates the fact that he is tearing up, “I fear that as my husband, I took that dream away from you. I fear that later in the future you would resent me for it.” He cries into his hands, sobbing.
The very sight of it breaks Wei Changze’s heart to pieces.
“No A-Xiao,” Wei Changze breathes out, “No, never.” He quickly pulls his beloved into his arms and rocks them back and forth. “I was a naive child back then,” he starts. “I only ever knew that I didn’t belong here and I wasn’t really /home/. That was why I left because I never felt more at home until I met you. I thought I had lost any chance of becoming a home for you when the MeishanYu clan had made their suit obvious.” He carefully wipes Jiang Fengmian's tears away with his thumb, all the while cradling his husband’s face tenderly, softly as if he were something precious.
Wei Changze lets his beloved rest against his shoulder, gently combing through the soft hair that has come loose. “So when you made it known that you love me. I couldn’t believe it.” He really couldn’t back then, “Who would have thought that someone like you could fall for someone like me?” Wei Changze continues on, “When we became one, I knew that you had become my world.” Then he pressed his hand against Jiang Fengmian’s lower dantian, “My world only became bigger when we found out we are parents.”
He kissed his beloved’s hair and whispered, “Every day is a new adventure for us: running a sect, trying to raise our children to be good people, trying not to kill Jin Guanshan.” He only laughed when his husband only hit his chest half-heartedly. Pressing kisses all over the soft, teary face.
He whispered before capturing Jiang Fengmian’s lips with a passionate kiss, “How could I regret this when I have you.”

Sort of faintly connected to your awesome on-off disucssion about Matty's identity and different ways of presenting himself, when I watching the stream of the Halloween show I really felt like something about being in costume freed him up to be looser, more fun, maybe more "himself" in some ways. I do think part of what I was seeing was just that last night was a break in what must sometimes be an exhausting routine of repeating most of the show over and over again, but I wondered what you thought about how dressing up as a character seemed to dial down his self-consciousness levels. (I'm sure there's a fic idea somewhere in here, also). Forgive the long ask, I'm procrastinating on a work task! 😂
I mean, yes: this is absolutely spot on.
Let me start off by saying I haven't watched much from last night, or from this tour in general really. I am going through a personal content detox because I started off very annoyed at the whole concept of SATVB and I really want to get to my shows next week (!!!!!!) without too much bias.
I am an ATVB girl at heart, it was my first tour that I followed closely both as it was happening and obviously afterwards (the amount of ATVB content I consumed while writing ILYDYM is worrying and I can tell you pretty much everything about any date, god help me), and I find myself missing the "method acting" bit in some capacity. Not the capacity that was driving Matty's mental health into the ground, obviously, but the bit that effectively allowed him to play a character every single night (albeit one very very similar to his own self) and then in the second half completely let go of it and be the real Matty. I remember when I got hit with that realisation at the end of January, just watching as the show transformed from the first to the second half and he blossomed into somebody else, someone familiar and so different from the guy we'd been looking at for the first forty-five minutes.
So this Halloween show was special, yes, because it effectively was the best of both worlds: it allowed him to play a character, do things he normally wouldn't have done for the sake of entertainment (not only other people's, also and most importantly his own), and yet be himself while at it.
And to bring it back to the "Matty is queer" discourse, since that's where I generally gravitate: Halloween is inherently very queer. Dressing up, stretching normal boundaries of appearance, sometimes gender-bending (we all see you and worship you, Adam Hann and John Waugh)... It's all queer as fuck. And even if Matty's chosen costume was admittedly very boring and fairly OBVIOUS for him, I am still happy with it because he looked like he was having an absolute blast. And isn't that why they do what they do, and have done so for the past twenty years, really?
(long ask, even longer reply: apparently I had A Lot Of Thoughts about this ❤️)

Okay, I don't want to interupt your exile disucssion thread, but I was so curious— exile ended badly? I joined the fandom after exile, so I a only going by what I've seen and observed, and I thought the ending was pretty well recieved as positive? Am I too techno-focused for this one? 😄 — @antimony-medusa
Well, to start, I'm talking about the exile ending as far as when he escapes Logsteadshire for the final time. I'm aware he was still technically exiled after that, but the way Techno just uses Tommy to get revenge on New L'Manburg is a whole other can of worms.
It didn't end "badly", I just personally didn't like how it did end. And don't worry, I know full well that's not a popular take. Tommy was up on the giant pillar about to jump, but somehow manages to talk himself down, and I just didn't find the way his monologue progressed to be very... believable? I'll admit I don't remember what he said other than "he was just here to watch me", but I remember it all feeling very underwhelming to me.
It's clear that event was meant to be a transition from one location to another, and it certainly was a positive ending for Tommy, but it simply left me wanting more. I did like the bond he later formed with Techno though, even if it ultimately ended with them fighting each other.

I guess I might come off insensitive but he needs to treat fans like fans, and like a single entity. when he divides fan groups, they feel left out.
He needs to just not be special to one set of fans and act as if the others don't exist.
I don't think core kfans are fickle, but the fans of most idols leave after 5 or 6 years, be it international or Korean ones. But unlike kfans, ifans don't nitpick everything ABT an idol.
They don't mind if an idol flips someone off or if she's aggressive and fights with a cordi.
I don't want him interacting in English, I want him to act that ifans matter to him and not just there...
I guess he thinks his future is in Korea and wants to focus there. But his idols in sm have bigger ifandom then Korean one
Let me tell u what I mean , if he only says hello to the Koreans and tells them they're lovely and doesn't say the same to Japanese, they would leave him. They would feel like they're not loved enough so they move to a idol who respects them more. Now if he uses Asians instead of Koreans or Japanese both sides would be happy and still praise him for caring
He writes letters in Chinese coz most of his albums are bought by Chinese. He still doesn't realise that western fans are big money and are the reasons for tours and investment now.
He isn't unpopular member, he's not taeil that ppl wouldn't mind him trying to only cater to one fandom.
I don't want him to just limit himself to one side of fandom, coz 8ve seen fandoms turn when they're not happy with the idol. Most fans are the worst antis
We are disucssing ifans currently nitpicking though?
Doyoung doesn't have a separate name for Korean fans. He doesn't open his gratitude letters with "dear fellow Koreans" either.
I'm listing you the ways he pays attention to international fans and you come back to him disregarding them. He didn't need to learn a song in Indonesian instead of yet another cover of his beloved Korean female singers. Noone made him, he did it on his own volition. He did Billie Eilish covers out of his hotel room to defend his lesbian ifans.
I have no intention of standing on the side of fans with short memory and little gratitude.

incredible how Soul Hackers 2 nailed the aesthetic and presentation, and completely revitalized a near dead niche of the SMT fanbase only to grandly reveal itself to be so barren as an actual game that it killed almost all disucssion of the game overnight.

TW this dicusses body image issues. Please dont read if this will upset you in any way. I will always want what's best for you
This soft, fluff but with body image disucssion.
Despite the tears in Harry's eyes as he waved goodbye to the crowd in Reggio Emilia, he had no doubt that his heart was filled with love, gratitude, sadness and joy. The final performance of Love On Tour was his last time bidding farewell to his fans. He wasn't sure when he would see them again, and that left a hollow in his heart. But it was finally time for him to take a break. And after 169 performances, two movies, press tours, and so much more it would be a well-deserved break. Night after night, he'd danced and stomped and sang his heart out across state after state and country after country. When he traveled he’d forget what time zone he was in sometimes. All the while, he kept a strict diet and even had his personal trainer beside him to keep him motivated. Later, once the crowd was long gone and the spotlight faded, he stood at the edge of the stage. His  heart was pounding from the adrenaline rush of his last performance. The deafening roar of the crowd still reverberated in his ears, a testament to his fans' fervent adoration. It was the closing act of his world tour, the culmination of more than two years of tireless dedication and unwavering passion.
As he went backstage to celebrate with his friends, family, bandmates and crew Harry couldn't help but feel a profound sense of accomplishment wash over him. The whirlwind of the tour, with its endless rehearsals and countless performances, was an exhilarating journey. However, now, with the final curtain call behind him, he looked forward to the tranquility of home.
        ***
Once he was back in the sanctuary of his home, Harry relaxed in the newfound freedom that came with the end of the tour. No more early wake-up calls or grueling soundchecks; now, he could relax in the simple pleasures of life. Enjoying the fruits of his labor after a decade of non-stop work, he'd finally decided to take a real break. Not a break in order to write and record an album and plan a release and tour, but a real proper break from all the noise.
One morning with a contented sigh, Harry poured himself a cup of coffee and settled on a stool at the kitchen island. The warm morning sun filtered through the windows. He surveyed the array of breakfast delights laid out before him - stacks of fluffy pancakes, butter, maple syrup, hashbrowns, and perfectly scrambled eggs.
"Morning, love," Y/N's voice broke through the peaceful silence as she entered the kitchen. Her presence was a welcome sight to Harry's eyes. She leaned in to kiss him softly. Harry smiled. "I made breakfast. Aren't you proud of me?"
"Sure but I'll really be proud to see you clean up the mess." She giggled, shaking her head as she poured her coffee.
Y/N sat beside Harry at the island. She caressed the nape of his neck, content to have her husband with her at breakfast without scarfing down his food before darting out the door.
But this morning they were in heaven. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, a celebration of the decadence Harry had denied himself during the rigors of the tour. They ate in comfortable silence, the only sounds being the clinking of cutlery against plates.
And the days passed just like that leisurely breakfasts, playing with the dog in the backyard, quiet afternoons lounging in front of the tv with a bevy of snacks laid out before them. They went to pizza parties with their kids' classes. Life as a couple and family was real and routine. Gone were the days of constant travel, demanding schedules, and the pressure to perform. Instead, Harry and Y/N reveled in the simplicity and stability of their routine, cherishing each peaceful moment together and relishing in the ordinary joys of everyday life.
One lazy afternoon, as Harry was changing his clothes, an unease crept over him. He glanced at his reflection in the floor-to-ceiling mirror. His gaze lingered at the subtle changes in his physique. The once-defined muscles were now soft, his abs obscured beneath the slightest bit of untoned muscle. Most likely no one noticed. Any other person in the world would have to work years just like Harry had to work to maintain the body he had now, much less the body he had when he was on tour. He feared losing what  he had worked so hard for during his time on tour. It lingered in the back of his mind, making him question his self-image and his ability to maintain the same level of physical fitness.
The self-doubt gnawed at Harry's insides as he studied his reflection, his mind plagued by insecurities. He was always proud of his appearance, but now, faced with the undeniable evidence of his body's imperfections, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. Lost in his thoughts, Harry swiftly dressed himself when footsteps approached. Soon Y/N appeared in the doorway. Her brow furrowed with concern as she observed his troubled expression.
"Hey, love," she said softly, crossing the room to stand beside him in front of the mirror. "What's on your mind?"
Harry hesitated, unsure of how to articulate the doubts that plagued him. But Y/N, ever perceptive, reached out to gently caress his cheek. He leaned into her touch, something that always comforted him.
"You seem distant," she observed, her eyes searching his for answers. "Is everything okay?"
Harry sighed, his shoulders slumping as he struggled to find the right words. "I don't know," he confessed. His voice cracked. "I just... I feel like I've let myself go, you know? Like I'm not the same person I used to be."
Y/N's heart melted at Harry's vulnerability. She knew all too well the pressure he faced to maintain a certain image in the unforgiving world of show business. "What sweetie? What's wrong?"
He lifted his shirt to just above the butterfly tattoo on his torso. "This." He looked down and tried to pinch even a single inch of skin.
"Babe you're gonna have to explain. I don't get it."
He sighed and looked down. "This. M' stomach, it's going to hell."
Y/N giggled. "What? That? That teeny tiny bit of skin you're desperately trying to pinch?"
"Yeah. Getting chubby. Look at it."
"You are absolutely gorgeous, Harry Styles," she insisted. "Every inch of you, inside and out."
He shook his head. "No, 'm gettin' a dad bod. Next thing you know, the tabloids will talk about how I've let m'self go. And they'll be right Y/N, they will be. Look at me."
Her beautiful husband was on the verge of tears. She tilted his chin to look at her. "Listen to me, okay. You are gorgeous, and yes your body is different, since you actually enjoy life now. You don't kill yourself dancing and running and working out non-stop five hours a day. You eat things you love, not rabbit food. We drink wine on the patio or do tequila shots while we slow dance in the kitchen. We order takeaway and take walks instead of jogging. We spend time together, and relax and read books till 2 in the morning. The two of us spend time getting to know each other again. Question. When I had the girls each time I complained and cried about my body, didn't I?"
"Yes."
"And what did you tell me?"
He lifted his head again so his eyes met hers. "Told you you were the most beautiful fucking woman I'd ever seen. Told you a little bit of extra skin, or your boobs or the scale had nothing to do with any of that. And I told you, that body had given me two beautiful daughters and I wouldn't trade it for the world's most perfect amazing body. I told you that it was perfect to me because that body belonged to you, and I love you more than anything in this world."
She smiled and kissed him. "Correct. And all of that is true when I look at you. Honestly, I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't brought it up. Now, I'm not telling you how to feel about yourself because I can't dictate to you what to feel. What I can tell you is that if you aren't happy with it you can easily fix it, but it doesn't matter to me. The fact that I can wake up with you every morning and go to bed with you every night is one of my favorite things. That I can smell your body wash seeping through the shower door. I can sit in the garden with you and watch the girls play. If you want to switch back to a stricter diet or cut back on something or go to the gym more days a week I'm okay with that. All I care about is you."
"But look at me," he protested, gesturing towards his reflection in the mirror. "I've got... I don't know, a dad bod or something."Harry couldn't shake the nagging fear that Y/N might no longer find him as attractive. He worried that without the stage lights and the adoring crowds, he was just an ordinary man with ordinary flaws.
She lowered her voice to almost a whisper. "Guess what stud? You are a dad. You're a man. A man who plays tea party with his girls, builds forts, and teaches them to swim. You're a man who loves his family. Nothing is more meaningful than that, nothing. Get it?"
He grinned, revealing gorgeous dimples. "Got it." He nodded before kissing her.
"Harry," she murmured. "You are perfect exactly as you are. Your body tells the story of all the incredible experiences we've shared together. Every laugh, every adventure - it's all written there, etched into your skin, just like those tattoos are a roadmap of your life. Nothing has changed. Nothing."
Harry felt warmth spread through his chest at Y/N's words. In her eyes, he found the acceptance and reassurance he so desperately sought. This was a reminder that his worth was not defined by the number of abs on his stomach. He thought about the encouraging words he'd given fans through the years. Having a few extra pounds would not disappoint them. They'd be disappointed if he didn't see what they saw, what his wife and friends and family saw.
With a grateful smile, Harry leaned in to press a soft kiss against Y/N's lips, his heart so grateful for the woman who saw him for who he truly was. Together, they settled into an embrace, his chin resting on her head. He was content in the wonderfully human moments they shared.
With Y/N by his side, Harry explored new hobbies and interests, finding joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. They spent lazy afternoons picnicking in the sun-drenched gardens of their home, the gentle breeze carrying the scent of flowers and the sound of laughter. They had time to delve back into their shared passions for the world like art and literature. They lost themselves in timeless classics and discovered new expression in every brushstroke and word. They took day trips to lakes and farms, teaching their children about the beauty of the world around them.
However, some days the doubts still plagued him. Despite Y/N's reassurances, he couldn't help but question if he was enough. He wondered if he would ever truly measure up to the impossible standards of beauty and perfection that seemed to govern his world.
One evening, as they sat curled up together on the balcony, watching the sun dip below the horizon in a blaze of fiery hues, Harry voiced his fears to Y/N once more.
"Do you ever feel like... like you're not enough?" he asked, breaking the peaceful silence. "Like no matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to live up to everyone's expectations?"
Y/N turned to him, her eyes soft and understanding. "All the time," she admitted.  "But Harry, you don't have to be flawless. You just have to be you. And to me, you're more than enough."
He knew it was finally time to let it go. He knew the world was unpredictable and someone always had an opinion. The goalpost was always moving. And just like every other time the world commented on him he would take it in stride. "I've been so happy with you and the girls, so fucking happy. I can't let some ridiculous standard set by complete strangers take that away. The world has gotten enough of my time and energy. It's time that all be given to you and the kids. Yes, I think I'll hit the gym a bit more and lay off the cakes and bread a bit, but I'm not gonna quit being happy because of something I'm telling myself that isn’t even true." In that moment, he was determined to no longer be defined by others' expectations, that real happiness lay in embracing his authentic self, flaws and all.
With Y/N's love as his guiding light, Harry embarked on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the depths of his own soul and finding beauty in the imperfections that made him uniquely himself. He began to see himself through new eyes, recognizing the strength and resilience within him, waiting to be unleashed. He accepted that if a woman like Y/N could think he was amazing then he had to be because she was perfection in every way to him.
As the months passed they made new memories. They embraced the challenges and triumphs of life with open hearts and open minds, facing each new day with courage and love.
One day as Harry looked into the mirror he no longer saw flaws to be hidden or masked. Instead, he saw a man who was imperfect, yes, but also deeply loved and profoundly happy. He saw a man who had weathered storms and emerged stronger on the other side. He knew he was exactly where he was meant to be: in the arms of the woman who loved him, flaws and all.
And though the world around them may be fickle and fleeting, their love remained constant, an unbreakable bond.

Other players looking to “Rescue” Dream in the Time-Travel AU:
Sapnap. Dream’s brother. Remembers Dream saying that he was tortured in prison. Very complicated feelings considering that he ALSO wants to reconnect with his fiancé, who was apparently the culprit. He’s trying to save both and agonizing over the possibility of retrieving neither.
Tommy. Having his whole “Everyone Has Feelings” arc. Wants to save Dream before he goes batshit. No idea what he’s doing. (Tubbo is trying to be less of an enabler. Mixed results.) (ClingyDuo is mostly just Comedy in this AU ngl)
Punz. Realizing that he is a huge enabler of all Dream’s worst impulses. Trying to figure out a way to make him Slow Down. (Short-lived. He’s the first to put together that Sam and Quackity also had their little epiphany. He decides to leave Dream in their care, as they are shockingly good at this.) (Dream, of course, takes this as a Sam-level betrayal.)
omgggg!!!! ye eyes yes to these!!! ok this is awesome because there was so much potential for quackity and sap to have conflict over the fact that quackity had been torturing dream. so this is just perfect that it opens up the opportunity for it.
(more disucssion)
🦙🦙🦙…
like i’m imagining a dramatic moment in the rain fyzyzuss. where sap is so hurt by quackity’s actions but also so desperate to rekindle their relationship. and quackity is equally desperate to rekindle and absolutely in shambles because he too is extremely haunted by his actions (like nightmares of his words in prison and dreams blood on the floor,, sometimes where it’s him that’s being tortured as well). kinda feel like it would be cool for them to team up?? (purely for the aspect of sapnap comforting quackity from the images cemented in his head)
the tommy and tubbo thing is so funny omg. like them also setting off to break dream out, but doing it several days too late. trying to track down dream and accidentally tracking down sapnap or punz. making posters to make the whole server search for dream,, which only makes things worse
and ahhhh the punz thing!!! dream thinking he betrayed him!!! dream being so hurt that punz isn’t helping him but punz just understanding what happened entirely ahhhhhh. imagine he thinks that dream has gone through the realisation as well :((

Richard Maibaum Papers - James Bond - Curator Interview
Richard Maibaum Papers at the University of Iowa
Richard Maibaum, who wrote many of the James Bond movie screenplays, donated his papers to the University of Iowa. Pete Balestrieri is the curator for Science Fiction and Pop Culture at the University of Iowa Library.
Join Dan and Tom as they have a discussion with Pete on the Richard Maibaum Papers. This collection includes a large selection of Maibaum's working materials he used to write 13 James Bond movies. Pete shares his insights into many topics on the development of the movies. For instance, he talks about Sean Connery's thoughts on the role of Pussy Galore in Goldfinger and what Richard Maibaum did because of those thoughts.
One fascinating part of the collection is the research folders. These contain articles that Maibaum clipped out on a variety of topics he researched for plot points. For instance, there is an article on blimps which he clipped out 3 years before A View To A Kill came out.
But, to us, probably the most interesting part of the collection are the treatments that Maibaum wrote. These are the stories before they are turned into screenplays. As a result, you get to see how the story evolves, sometimes dramatically. It is very cool to read a movie's treatments and see the evolution of the movie's story.
It's not just James Bond
Another key point of the disucssion is that the James Bond materials are only part of the collection. Richard Maibaum wrote many other movies and plays. While you are there you can see some of Maibaum's notes on his other projects including includes OSS, The Great Gatsby, and Tank Force.
Pete discusses the collection, how you can see it and other collections they have at the Library such as the papers from Norman Felton who produced The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
This is a wide-ranging, fun discussion. Pete knows his movie and shares his passion for them in this interview.
