I'd love to talk about it! Unfortunately I haven't written much for this fic beyond the outline since it's a newer idea, but I'll show off the very beginning below if you're interested! :)

In this canon divergence Anakin didn't become a Jedi after TPM and instead had to live and work his way through the galaxy's underbelly to now work as an exotic dancer on Coruscant. Through a chance meeting with Obi-Wan, they instantly develop a connection in the Force. Anakin discovers his latent abilities and potential, meanwhile Obi-Wan's just dealing with the guilt and humiliation of accidentally becoming the force bonded sugar daddy to a stripper he's never even touched lmaooo. Of course, all this will be tested when Chancellor Palpatine, beloved now more than ever with the separatist movement snuffed, discovers the young man he believes will be perfect to undermine the Jedi.

“I hope you’re aware this is a HoloNet scandal in the making.” 

Blaring, synthetic music poured out of the club’s entrance in a heavy beat, filling the narrow alleyway’s air and requiring Obi-Wan to shout far beyond comfort to be heard. Just a scant breath in front of him, confident hands shuffled out credits gleaming in the neon lights overhead, graciously given to the hulking man guarding the door. 

The cocky grin Quinlan threw over his shoulder did nothing to assuage his anxiety. 

“I’m aware!” he yelled back, laughing in response to the long-suffering glare Obi-Wan pointed his way. Waved on by the guard, he and their small group of friends from the temple marched in through the open doors. 

“I’m quite serious, Quinlan,” Obi-Wan insisted as they entered a dim hallway, empty and stuffy with the growing season’s humid haze. He tugged again at the constricting collar pressing into his throat. Aiming for some degree of anonymity, he had chosen to wear one of his few civilian outfits, a confining ensemble of a tight brown jacket and black pants. “Five Jedi spotted in a lower level strip club, can you imagine the outrage? It could jeopardize the tenuous peace we’ve only just established.”

“Oh, calm down!” responded Quinlan, pushing him forward to the curtained archway looming at the corridor’s edge. “You’re supposed to be celebrating, not bitching at me about your precious reputation. Pictures aren’t allowed in here, anyways.”

A ‘celebration’ he had been calling this trip all week, a night of relaxation after the brief few months they’d all been dispatched around the galaxy, quelling the brief but fierce Separatist movement staged by Count Dooku. One of their own, defeated. Obi-Wan couldn’t parse whether a celebration was necessary or even appropriate, but he knew for sure he wouldn’t find it here.

EXTENDED SUMMARY

Elia Valarys is a graveyard. A display case for all the former, torn up iterations of herself. Her innocence, her girlhood, her youth. She has died so many times before it is like a memory. She is no longer flesh and bone, but tendrils of smoke, a mournful spectre. Not a girl anymore, only a ghost.

She was not always so tragic. She was her parents' miracle, born nine years after they were told they would not conceive again. She was their ray of sunshine. Her three older siblings showered her with love, despite being nine and thirteen years older than her.

For her first nine years, Alana Uttara was happy. Her mother's role as a handmaiden to the Queen of their homeworld, Aphelion, allowed her to spend time running circles around the vast palace with the princesses and her little niece. Alana's niece was born when she was five years old. Violet was the daughter of Alana's oldest brother, Aerrik and his girlfriend, and she became Alana's favourite person in the galaxy. Alana and Violet were always more like sisters than aunt and niece.

Her first death came when the sky was lit by brilliant fireworks.

As Aphelion celebrated its liberty with a fine party, Alana's world collapsed around her. As sparks showered behind her, she learned that two of her siblings and parents were dead. She wanted to scream until her throat was raw, until the stars trembled above, until the universe gave her family back. Until she had nothing left to give. (Fate is not kind to little girls with big dreams.)

Aerrik Uttara begged the Queen of Aphelion to allow him to adopt his sister — they were all each other had left. But the Queen took her instead.

Her second death arrived a year later.

Alana Uttara was buried in cotton dresses and sunlight smiles next to her parents and twin siblings. Her soft heart was not built for such anguish. (Her mother always said her heart was as vast as Aphelion's great oceans. Alana's heart and gentle nature were no curse, no weakness. It was her greatest strength.)

In her place, Elia Valarys was born. At last, she was official. A Princess of Aphelion, the Third Daughter. Not an heir; a false princess; a royal without a crown. Her people adored her, and Elia Valarys shone bright as the sun, hiding her grief behind tiaras and balls. She refused to break. But when she did, she built herself back up like a mirrorball. Elia and Alana became two different people, but their hearts were still the same.

Alana let her pain drown her, Elia grew despite it. When death stole from her, her heart flourished and made room for more love. If she could not be happy herself, she would make the galaxy better for others and make them happy. She had two new sisters and a new father who loved her like she was his own. Until little Violet turned nine years old, the last of the Uttara family would visit the Palace as often as possible — much to the Queen's disapproval.

But Alana Uttara still stalked Elia like a shadow. She was the bottle which Elia poured her heartache into. When the novelty of being part of the royal family wore off, Elia had two people living within her: the lost girl and the quiet princess.

She died a hundred times during the war.

Like a blossom in winter, her famous heart grew brittle. Her hands turned to frost as she cradled dying children. She tried so hard to protect them all, to keep them safe and take them far away from the war. Even though she saved hundreds of children displaced by the war, she was tormented by the ones she lost. After you watch a child fade away in your arms, you cannot be the same.

When she believed she could not suffer through anything worse, the betrayal arrived. It cut through her knife, twisting in her heart. Finally, she surrendered to her stone heart. Nothing can hurt you when you cannot feel anymore.

The final death caught her a lifetime later.

(The worst betrayal came as a blade through her stomach as she clung to her lover's arms. He could not protect her anymore. She could wonder forever if his last words were a lie: “I love you.”)

In any universe, Elia Valarys and Anakin Skywalker were not destined for a happy ending. (But they still fell for each other like Icarus fell for the sun every time.)

fic authors who write a canon divergence/au of TPM where Shmi's whole situation is fixed and still have Anakin go to the temple baffle me.

There is no way that Anakin and Shmi would have split had their circumstances been anything less than dire. They love each other dearly and it's clear from the movie that Shmi sends Anakin away because its his only way out of slavery.

Why would Anakin choose a life where he cannot contact his mother and live by a restrictive code over a happy, safe life with his mom? What evidence is there that Shmi would?

📄What’s a WIP you never finished that you would like to go back and revisit?

This is tough, nonnie! I had several paragraphs typed up about an Obikin canon divergence AU (aka, the "slavers bought Anakin right before TPM, things Went Very Differently" AU) that I'd been struggling with for a while, and it led me to realize why I'm struggling with it (it treads some ground that I feel I'd rather explore elsewhere + my hope of it being a oneshot is downright quixotic) and now I'm not certain this question applies to that.

👀 So, HMM! At the moment, taking this at face value that it's something that's legitimately been set aside with no intention of continuing it (so none of the posted Obikin WIPs count, even if it's been months and I owe like 6 updates!) I'm not sure I have an answer. But you helped me figure out the issue with one WIP, so thank you!

Okay so at some point I was writing like 4 fandoms at once and some original stories. I have since written one Disney one shot and the rest has all been Marauders. So I have a feeling I should fix that 😂. I loved being a fully multi fandom account. Like I wrote Marvel stuff, Harry Potter stuff, Disney stuff, MCYT stuff, BNHA stuff, OUAT stuff all at the same time and had like 40 different books. Most of it was MHA of course cause at the time, that was the big thing. Everyone was into that. But I haven't written much outside of my bubble. Is it weird that I love both sides?#I like both the idea that Qui-Gon was the ideal for a Jedi to be and the idea that he fell short

@anidala-for-ever - I don't think it's weird at all, I didn't mean to imply there were necessarily even 'sides' here. I don't think these views are incompatible, and I just want to clarify that I don't think Qui-Gon was somehow the most perfect Jedi-to-ever-Jedi in all existence, and I agree that he's flawed and human, just like everyone in the Prequels. However, my point is simply that Qui-Gon embodied something a little closer to how the Jedi might have once been in times past, with a more flexible way of viewing certain aspects of the Code, etc. The fact he was (imo) more aligned to the 'spirit' of the law than the letter of the law is one of the reasons I see him as the ideal teacher of Anakin Skywalker, not necessarily the ideal of all Jedi to ever exist (whether past, present, or future). Qui-Gon's status as ideal mentor and father figure to Anakin is entirely in comparison to the two other figures who occupy that role later on after Qui-Gon's death: Obi-Wan and Palpatine. Could there have *hypothetically* been someone EVEN BETTER than Qui-Gon to teach Anakin? Perhaps. But I'm talking about out of the characters actually introduced to us on-screen, Qui-Gon is the most ideal to have taught Anakin. I see people claiming that Qui-Gon would have also failed to prevent Anakin from falling to the Dark Side as well, but then what, may I ask, is even the point of the Duel of the Fates? Why, then, would that duel be so pivotal to the fate of the galaxy? What is the point of contrasting Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan with regards to their willingness to obey vs. disobey the Council? What's the point of showing Qui-Gon as this warm and compassionate surrogate father figure (however briefly) to Little Ani? People can have all the issues with Qui-Gon's actions (or lack thereof) that they want, but it doesn't change the fact that this is literally how the story is presenting him. Not as a perfect or flawless human being, but as the only one who could have potentially stood in the way of Anakin's dark fate. Before Qui-Gon dies, Anakin's future is merely 'clouded', and Qui-Gon argues that Ani's fate is not set in stone and is still 'uncertain'. While Qui-Gon lived, there was still hope for Anakin and for things to turn out differently, even if that was itself largely because Qui-Gon believed in Anakin and in Anakin's potential (not just as a Chosen One, but also as a person) and did not see Anakin as inherently dangerous. That was in its own way Qui-Gon's divergence from and rebellion against the Council (only other Jedi to whom we are introduced at that point).

So, no, I don't think that these are incompatible viewpoints. My issue is not with the claim that Qui-Gon has flaws, it's just that I feel strongly that, flawed or not, TPM nonetheless presents Qui-Gon as 1) someone who stands apart from the other Jedi as a 'maverick' and thus is implied to be *more* flexible or rule-bending than the majority of the other Jedi at that point in time, 2) someone who is also the best possible option for teaching Anakin, and 3) someone whose death (and subsequent absence) affects the entire trajectory of the story, including Anakin's fate and the fate of the galaxy as a whole.

On the importance of Qui-Gon as a character, and the purpose of his role in the story:

It’s been a while now since I’ve written about this character, but recently my husband and I were discussing the Prequels (and especially The Phantom Menace), and we both heartily agreed that Qui-Gon Jinn is a truly brilliant addition to the saga, both from a storytelling and ‘in-story’ perspective. Not only is he a compelling figure to watch on-screen (thanks to the mesmerizing Liam Neeson), but he is also an ingenious way of introducing us to the Twilight of the Republic-era Jedi—via someone who is, by that point, considered a ‘maverick’ in comparison to the rest of the Jedi Order.

This is a very clever approach, because it means that we actually experience the entire first half of The Phantom Menace from Qui-Gon’s perspective. Throughout our journey with him—during which time he comes to the aid of many beings, from the hapless Jar-Jar, to Queen Amidala, to a slave-boy and his mother on Tatooine, all while simultaneously on a spiritual quest of his own (aka, to find the Chosen One)—we come to admire a Jedi who is everything that we, as viewers who had only ever seen the Original Trilogy, would expect a Jedi to be.  It is only after Qui-Gon’s arrival on Coruscant (when we are met by the comparatively cold, closed, and standoffish Jedi Council), that we realize that…oh… this wonderful, warm, openly-caring, and compassionate Jedi who we ASSUMED must certainly be the ’norm’, is actually anything but.

And so, the fact that the very first part of the saga is shown to us almost entirely from Qui-Gon’s perspective is extremely significant, not in the least because it evokes sympathy for his character and his so-called ‘maverick’ views, and, in turn, has the effect of helping us be all the more sympathetic and understanding towards little Ani.

The importance of this cannot be overstated, because of course, when The Phantom Menace was released, everyone already knew that Anakin Skywalker would eventually become ‘Darth Vader’. So it was absolutely crucial to introduce him to us from the perspective of a ‘wise Jedi’ character who had a firm belief in (the positive nature of) his future potential, and who held a deeply compassionate view toward him, or else the tension and dramatic irony would be greatly reduced, and the impact of the overall story would be lessened. Seeing Anakin through Qui-Gon’s eyes makes us all ask the burning question—how could an innocent and loving little boy like this ever become Darth Vader? Qui-Gon’s presence in the story introduces this question—and this tension—at this early stage, and makes it almost impossible for us not to seek for answers as we go. 

In this vein, the mere existence of Qui-Gon as a character helps to inform our view of the state of the Jedi Order at this point in the story. I feel the need reiterate this very obvious point because some people seem to be mis-reading ‘the text�� here and coming to the erroneous conclusion that Qui-Gon (and his views and actions) is somehow representative of the Jedi Order as a whole, and that could not be farther from the truth. Such an interpretation is completely missing the entire point of his character and his role in the story. Qui-Gon is meant to embody the True SPIRIT (his name ‘Jinn’ even means Spirit) of the Jedi religion that has, at this stage, been ‘lost’ or at least largely forgotten in favour of a more ‘letter of the law’ approach. Nowhere is this more clearly embodied than by the Order’s strict adherence to their (often flawed) interpretations of the Jedi Code, as well by as their role of servants of the Republic—something that has led them to this place where they must often put said Republic’s political and military needs above service to ‘the Will of the Force’. (Note how Qui-Gon explains the *ideal* role of a Jedi to Padme when he tells her “I can only protect you. I cannot fight a war for you.” – a role that, only ten years after his death, will be completely overturned by the Jedi Order’s direct participation in the Clone Wars on behalf of the Republic.)

And thus, upon Qui-Gon’s arrival on Coruscant, we experience the realization that many of the things he has said throughout (such as “*FEEL*, don’t think, use your instincts”), and the approaches he has taken (his openly warm manner toward little Ani and his mother) are very likely things that only he, and maybe a few choice others, would say or do or think or feel, rather than the typical mindset or approach of the entire Order. Qui-Gon’s singularity in this respect is necessary for the story to establish, because it likewise establishes him as the ONLY person who could have provided the very particular guidance that Anakin so sorely needed, the only person who could have potentially helped him navigate the more difficult to follow aspects of the Code, the only person who (if he had lived) might have stood at least some chance of equipping Anakin to withstand the machinations of Sidious….I could go on. It supports this notion of Qui-Gon as the ideal teacher of (and father-figure to) Anakin, and even adds weight to the idea they were indeed brought together by the Force, as Qui-Gon himself states (“Finding him was the will of the Force”).

And then, it is this that likewise that renders his sudden death such a ‘fateful’ (hence the name ‘Duel of the Fates’) blow. A loss that is shattering to Obi-Wan *and* Anakin both—one that they of course both feel keenly in the immediate aftermath, but one that also proves even more tragic later on in the course of events. (In the RotS novelization, it even states that the seemingly-endless war that had come to define their lives had, for Obi-Wan and Anakin, begun not with the inception of the Clone Wars, but rather “on Naboo, when Qui-Gon Jinn died at the hand of a Sith Lord.”) In other words, the loss of Qui-Gon removes this irreplaceable Jedi who was very much a ‘True Jedi’, but who nonetheless regularly felt the need to stand up to the Jedi Council’s decisions; this Jedi who was still a much-needed source of council to Obi-Wan, and who was so uniquely poised to guide little Ani—either within, or outside of, the Jedi Order.

Qui-Gon Jinn is a highly underrated character, and the importance of his role, both from a storytelling perspective and an in-story perspective, cannot be emphasized enough. I would go so far as to say that his inclusion into this early part of the saga is intended to form our understanding of it—because, through him, we are shown an example of a True Jedi, one who is warm, tender, caring, and demonstrative of emotions, as well as just as heroic and ‘mystical’ as we’d expect a Jedi Master of that era to be. Through him, we come to sympathize not only with his views, but also with little Ani’s plight. Through him, we are thus primed to view young Anakin positively (or at the very least with an open mind), and to bristle at the Jedi Council’s swift dismissal of this fearful yet still-innocent child, so far from home.

Likewise, through Qui-Gon’s staunch belief in the existence of the Chosen One—a belief that he dies professing—we are shown an example of a Jedi who has unwavering faith in, and dedication to, ‘the Will of the Force’. And yet, through him we are *also* shown that such a Jedi stands on the ‘fringe’ of the Jedi Order, a fact that in and of itself illustrates just how far removed that institution has already become from its original stated purpose (which is, purportedly, ‘to serve the Will of the Force’). Qui-Gon’s death—and with it, the removal of such a defiant-yet-wise figure both from the Jedi Order and from Obi-Wan and Anakin’s lives—is the first ‘herald’ of the tragedy that is the story of the Prequels. 

This, in my understanding, is the purpose of Qui-Gon Jinn as a character, and the main reason for his inclusion into this early part of the story. He is a character who is meant to be viewed positively and sympathetically. An admirable figure of great kindness and foresight, a source of warmth, wisdom, and, above all, compassion, whose sudden loss is a heavy blow to all. And as such, he is NOT meant to be representative of the Jedi Order as it exists in its flawed state at the point of the Twilight of the Republic—rather he represents the TRUE *spirit* of the Jedi religion.

OK so!!!!

this is set in the gffa and it's a canon divergent fic. obi-wan is anastasia and anakin is dmitri.

bounty hunters managed to break into the Temple and kidnap a bunch of younglings. tpm padawan obi-wan and his master qui-gon are sent to track them down and return the younglings. they find the younglings and track one/some of the bounty hunters to tatooine where they find maul who's been overseeing the whole operation. they duel tpm style, qui-gon is killed by maul and obi-wan kills maul but while he mourns qui-gon, he's overwhelmed by the bounty hunters who bonk him hard enough on the head that he loses his memory.

he wakes up alone and confused but nobody comes for him, so he somehow carves himself out a life on tatooine and goes by ben. he still has the Force and it guides him, he knows to follow it even though he doesn't quite understand it.

he runs into anakin who wants to get off tatooine, finally, and he sees his chance in doing so by finding obi-wan kenobi, or at least find somebody who he can pass off as obi-wan. there's a bounty on obi-wan (put there by palps/sidious but nobody knows that) but there's only minimal information, not even that he's a jedi, so anakin thinks it can't be that difficult and he's nothing if not inventive and quick on his feet. and ben looks passable enough (anakin ignores artoo who keeps telling him that it is obi-wan because pfffffft right, they're just that lucky) and obi-wan finds himself roped into going along because anakin wants to take him to coruscant and obi-wan inexplicably knows he has to go to coruscant cos that's where his family is. so he goes along because even if he's not this obi-wan person, it doesn't matter, he'll be on coruscant.

Darth Maul's fate was all but set the moment Darth Sidious stole the child away from Dathomir. He was indoctrinated into hate, and misery and death. Taught to dwell on his rage, sink into his pain and by the time he was free of the abusive hand of his master, it was too late. He only knew anger and hurt. He only knew how to harm.

But what if he didn't?

What if, by a twist of fate, that there was a lifeline for him to reach onto? Something that could pull him from the dark and away from the path that lead to the desert under the twin suns? If, in the beginning, there was another, that connected to his hearts... could he be saved from his fate?

“I hope you remembered your promise.” she spoke softly. The figure turned, and suddenly she was in a room, looking out at a city sunset through a wide window. She could make out familiar red and black markings on the face only barely visible under the hood.

“I swore revenge.” He spoke, his voice smoother and deeper than she had last heard it.

“As did I. I swore I would always be by your side, and I intend to keep my word.” She reached into her robes and held out her half of the sparkling golden amulet. She could feel his eyes on it.

“I… I know this symbol.” He murmured, confused. Did he really not remember?

“You and I made a promise, and I swore I would find you. I will not forget this oath. I am coming. I will bring you home.”

“Home?” He looked up now, but his eyes… were different. Golden, not grey.

“Do you not remember?” Zaiya gasped softly. “Your home and family. You are a Prince of Dathomir, stolen by a monster.”

“My master has trained me in the Dark Side of the force. I am more powerful than any other being, I will take revenge on behalf of all Sith.” his voice came out in a vicious hiss, rage building up in him, so much that she could feel it coming off in waves.

“You… a sith?” she growled. “He has assaulted your mind, you are more than any servant or apprentice. We swore that we would get stronger, that no one else would command us again. Your ‘Master’ is a thief and a liar.”

In a second, a glowing red blade was held up to her neck. The look on his face was pure rage. “You know I speak the truth.” She added, looking down between the blade and his eyes. “You know me, Maul. You must remember.” The zabrak froze, his gold and red eyes widened as he gazed at her, looking at her face. There was a flash of recognition, but Zaiya felt the air around her shifting and the visions fading. She took the moment to connect to him one last time. With the blade withdrawn, she drew in, a hand gingerly to the back of his head and her forehead on his. Her other hand was holding up the broken amulet. “Remember. I will come for you, I will never give in. Keep fighting, remember your oath.”

For me, it’s a distinction between before and after Anakin’s fall (and then likewise after Vader’s redemption when he returns to himself). It's a different enough dynamic to warrant a different title in my eyes. The Dark Side is a real influence, as is the whole concept of Anakin needing to eventually return to his True Self. It's true that Vaderdala is always Anidala deep down, but the opposite is not true. Anidala is *not* always Vaderdala at its core. So there is a difference.

Personally, I’m not into AU fics where Padme survives RotS and has to deal with ‘Vader’ (if I want a canon-divergence AU I prefer 100% Happy AUs where Anakin doesn’t fall), so I agree that, most of the time, Vaderdala is a one-sided thing in the sense that it’s about Vader pining for Padme. In that case, I view it as more of a pathetic, angsty dynamic with Vader as the sad and lonely Sith Lord hating himself for losing Padme.

'Vaderdala' in this case has been a real ship since the creation of Original Trilogy concept art... as early on as ESB, in fact. (The above image is from a series of Ralph Mcquarrie sketches called 'Thoughts inside Vader's head' from circa 1979.) This also happens to be my preferred version of Vader. I'm not even remotely interested in him as the 'bad-ass' villain that pop culture is obsessed with. Pathetic Vader and canon-Vaderdala is the real Vader, imo!

So, my preferred way of understanding Vaderdala is from a canon OT perspective where he's a pathetic, maimed man mourning his wife and hating himself for hurting her. That said, we DO see 'Anidala' briefly on-screen as ‘Vaderdala’ before he is maimed and in the suit. Particularly in that balcony scene when he’s saying farewell to her before heading to Mustafar, where he has an intensely passionate and possessive vibe. So there’s enough there to get a picture of that potential darker, edgier dynamic, as well.

While I’m mostly into on-screen canon Anidala and/or happy AUs, there are a few scenarios of Sith-raised Anakin/Vader where it also can be seen as Vaderdala, such as my fave ‘Imperial Senator AU' illustrations by vilify (Part I, Part II, Part III, Part V). Though even this scenario is still ‘Anidala' at its core, because they still initially met as children in TPM, but I digress.

So, yeah, Vaderdala is a subset or offshoot of Anidala, but one with its own dynamics and tropes. The Dark Side factor alone warrants its own title/tag, imo, and even justifies it being viewed as a distinct ship if people want to see it that way.

Can I ask why Anidala + Vaderdala are considered two different ships? That’s literally the same people…

I've always been into like a Pride and Prejudice Obikin AU but I can never figure out who would be who. Because Obi-Wan's got Elizabeth's bookishness, her sharp tongue, and her way with words, while Anakin can like Darcy be quite rude, short (not like length wise), and frosty to strangers. HOWEVER, would Obi-Wan ever be as outright rude to someone as Elizabeth is to Darcy and Anakin does have Elizabeth's self of adventure and ballsiness. I think in the end I'm leaning more towards Darcykin and Elizawan because they seem to fit more. Also as long as there is miscommunication and growth between them in order for them to form a healthy and strong relationship,, then it's all good!

(Alternatively: Anakin and Obi-Wan are Bingley and Jane, respectively.)

omg do you know how long ive wanted a pride and prejudice au???? so long that i went ahead and blended half of it into the beauty and the beast au just because BUT

i can see both for both tbh i do lean towards obi-wan as elizabeth for every reason you mentioned here mostly and i feel like given enough injury to his pride in an au where he doesn't have to be the jedi, obi-wan could very much be downright rude and frosty. my favorite post TPM/canon divergence from TPM fics deal with an Obi-Wan being cold/rude at first to kid anakin because we all saw how he looked when qui-gon gave him up to get anakin </3 (simply put)

and i do love a good miscommunication

BUT it has to be said i love the idea of like. bingley anakin and jane obi-wan and like. idk. ahsoka as elizabeth with barriss as darcy? luke as elizabeth? ___ as darcy? leia as elizabeth? it's SO FUN !!

For those people who followed me solely because of that obikin fic I’m writing, here’s a couple things:

- This is a long project. Two books made of two-three parts each and I’ve just now mapped out the first part chapter by chapter

- I’m not going to post the thing until it’s completely done, with the exception of only small edits being needed.

- It will be finished! I have no idea how long it will take me, but I have so many ideas that there’s no question about it becoming an actual complete fic.

- It’s pretty canon divergent, in the end, but all, and I mean all of the change stems from Obi-Wan being about a decade younger in TPM. Well, and Anakin being a couple of years older. But that’s the basis of the fic.

- It’s sort of, but not really, a role-swap AU. Not really, but sorta.

- And lastly, if anyone wants to talk about this AU with me you are MORE THAN WELCOME because I have SO MANY THOUGHTS
