Sharpen the blunt scissors:Apply toothpaste to the blade and use the back of an utility knife to sharpen the narrowest part on the top, leaving the rest of the blade unsharpened.

Fast #lifehack - need to make a projector fast? I made and tested this puppy with great success. (Yes a dark area works best, or test it at night .)
1. Grab a shoe box or a sturdy cardboard box with a top or closing ability..
2. Grab a magnifying glass of some sort.. (got this one on amazon for 10 bucks)
3. Cut a hole in the box the size of the magnifying glasses diameter.. (I messed up the first one but got it on the second try)
4. Place the magnifying glass inside..
5. Grab your smartphone.. put on a video / piece of media.
6. Place it inside the box facing the magnifying glass, you will need to prop it up using some flexible wire or something small enough and heavy enough to hold it up. I found a rock 🪨 :)
7. Test it against a blank wall space.
And, life is forever changed!!

FruitJam 10 PRINT CHR$(205.5+RND(1)); : GOTO 10 🎮🕹️💾🍊
We're working on getting some fun emulators ported to the FruitJam
. Of course, we wanted to start with the C64, so when we found the MCUME
emulator project with many retro machines already done and ported to popular microcontrollers, we got right to checking it out! Here, Jepler is testing out the C64 with video output on HSTX. Next up is the keyboard, but for now, it's fun to test out the famous 10 print… goto 10 script
and watch the vibes generate.

Suck at starting seeds?
Out of sight, out of mind and you forget about them for weeks and months? Overbearing seed parent over watering them to death?
I've discovered a solution and I've never heard anyone talk about this before:
Plant your seeds with carrot tops
You just need one, and it's as easy as it sounds. baby carrots won't generally work, you need that weird green part on the top and they usually cut those off baby carrots. Normal big carrot for best results it needs that weird brown but at the top bc that's where the leaves grow, they grow super fast and need water every few days. It's okay if you kill them bc it's easy to start over, they're literally just kitchen scraps most people throw away (the top 3/4 inch of a carrot give or take you just need Enough for the Taproot (the orange carrot part) to drink enough water so your plant can thrive).
The greens taste like parsley and carrots and if you keep it alive long enough you get carrot flowers which you can pick and press or let them live so they can produce carrot seeds, it's really a pick your own adventure bonus plant!
Plant your seeds in a pot with however many carrot tops you want to plant. I do one in the center, and I water it just as often as the plant needs me to. I can understand this by A. Seeing the plant droop, it's VERY dramatic especially as an adult. Just keep it where you can see it. Or B. Stick your finger in the soil and see if it's dry. People have their own way of gauging that, I stick my finger in then take it out and let my bare skin decide if it detects a reasonable amount of moisture for a plant to drink, if my finger is mostly/totally dry, I water, if it is a little damp or wet, LEAVE IT ALONE YOU WILL KILL EVERYTHING.
But yeah! Just keep it up and in a couple weeks your seedlings will sprout and you will see them and rejoice. We love you carrot tops!!!!!!

In her video, shared July 9, Athar shows how she upcycled a large cardboard box to make a shelves and a closet to store clothes.

I replaced my old tablet with a new one before going to Europe, because I didn't want to take a full laptop but I knew my elderly tablet wouldn't handle the travel well. I'm using the new one for reading and such, but I didn't want the old one just languishing in a drawer forever, so I bought a pair of wall mounts for it and installed it on one of my kitchen cupboards. It's now my jukebox, podcast player, and recipe book whenever I'm in the kitchen. (I'm waiting on some moldable utility putty to arrive and I'll fix the cord a little more elegantly.)
[ID: A kitchen cabinet over a counter, very 80s style with wood grain trim. Attached to the cabinet door are a pair of plastic "mounting" corners; sitting in the corners is a tablet with the screen lit up, showing a handful of icons including links to my recipe files and an audio player. The tablet's charging cord is plugged into it and currently taped to the surface of the cabinet door inelegantly.]

USB-C "Fixer" for Missing CC Pins 🔌⚡🛠️
We have a few devices missing the 5.1K resistors on the CC pins, which frustratingly don't work with Mac computers or certain smart USB-C power supplies. To solve this, we designed a small adapter that combines our sunken USB socket
and USB plug breakout
This handy USB-C "fixer" adds the necessary CC resistors and includes a power-good LED indicator. It passes standard USB 2.0 signals (5V, GND, D+, D-) and fits onto any USB-C cable end, ensuring compatibility with a wider range of devices.

OOOOOOO what’s your favorite and least favorite DIY clothes project you’ve done before??? Have any tips? (I need tips I need to get back into sewing LOL)~
(so cool you make stuff! :D)
OMG THANK YOU FOR ASKING BC NOW I GET TO TALK ABOUT IT LOL
When it comes to my least favorite DIYs, none of them I really dislike except for the fails LOL. The only one that i dont like outside of this exception and it's a white (stretchy :/) tank top that I sewed a Malice Mizer patch I made onto + a bunch of lace. The patch itself looks suuuper pretty so I might just take it off and repurpose it, but I feel like the top is just kinda 'meh' because it's a bit too long. Usually if I want it to look less blank I need to pin the sides so they sit higher, but then it's still kinda eh. This is what the patch itself looks like! It was my first time making and using a stencil <3
Tumblr media
ignore the lace falling off 💀 I sewed it on with both red and black thread but my washing machine TORE IT THE FUCK UPPPPP 💔💔💔💔
Most of my diy projects are pretty small, but my top 5 (in no particular order) are: my patch shorts (very cool but VERY in progress), the lolita headdress I made, the button up I sewed ripped tights onto, and my battle jacket (in progress), and the tie I added chains, safety pins, and sewed a cross onto <3
I can't really give tips per se, but that's really because I'm just a VERY amateur sewer and I do it by hand bc sewing machines scare me ✌️💀 BUT!!!!!!! If you're EVER interested and want to hear me explain how I've done my DIYs (with the pictures too!!) I'd be more than happy to help give you a breakdown of them <3 And if you'd like, I can always share my much smaller DIYs, too!!! 🫶
