“boat day! boat day! boat day! boat day!” trevor chanted as you, quinn, and the rest of the hughes brothers walked down to the dock. quinn got onto the boat first and grabbed a hold of your hand as he helped you climb into the boat. “thank you!” you smiled cheerfully, and quinn beamed back at you. his hand rested on the small of your back as you made your way to the front of the boat to sit down.

you smiled at the boys' shared looks and smirks as they all nodded towards quinn who was now rummaging through his bag. your boy was especially protective over you now that you were pregnant and everyone knew it.  “what are you looking for baby?” you prompted quinn who sat up in his seat at your words. 

 “sunscreen,” quinn said, handing you a tube of sunscreen from his bag. he watched as you lazily applied the cream to your legs before anxiously telling you to give the tube back to him. “here, let me do it babe” he whispered into your skin as he started lathering the sunscreen generously across your back and down your body. 

“water,” quinn reminded you a little while later, pulling out a plastic bottle from the cooler and passing it over to you. you graciously accepted it, sipping the drink and peeking at quinn through the corner of your eye. ever since you had gotten pregnant he had become ten times more protective over you. protectiveness wasnt new for quinn. he had always been attentive of your needs but your pregnancy had sent things into overdrive. he was constantly checking in on you and making sure you and the baby were comfortable. even though his attentiveness got overwhelming sometimes, seeing the instant relief of anxiety and stress lift from quinn made you want to endure his questions and aids ten times over. 

“hat?” quinn asked, not even letting you answer as he pulled his own hat off his head and settled it on top of yours. you hummed, leaning your head against your husband's shoulder as you tried to hide your smile. you just loved him so much.

“thank you quinny,” you murmured, shifting so that you were looking out onto the water. quinn hummed in response as he ran his hand through your hair to help relax you.  the breeze, combined with the hum of the boat's motor and the rock tunes playing from jacks speaker quickly had you drifting off to sleep.

i dont know if you wanted a genuine answer to the what the fuck do we do question but i wanted to respond bc you brought up some good points

protesting and mutual aid hasnt overthrown the government yes but theyre something we should keep doing, keep doing better and keep doing more of. building community support is so important if/when things go completely to shit. a support system when the government is either actively hostile towards the people or indifferent to people’s needs is essential. the gov is hostile to certain people already (homeless people, poc, indigenous people, queer folks etc) and these things help even when they dont seem like theyre doing much! theyre keeping people alive one more day and that is an accomplishment in a society that wants to extinguish people

you said you cant really do anything while being 16 but thats not true at all. institutions want everyone particularly children teens and other oppressed people to feel powerless and be helpless so they can keep doing what theyre doing but now is the time to learn skills, learn anything that can help you down the road — survival skills, gardening, medical skills like first aid, self defense, how to protest, community building skills. get other people your age involved if they want and invite ur friends to learn and do things that point the world in a direction you’d like. learn your community and local outdoor environment, they can teach you a ton about your surroundings. making connections is very crucial bc it breaks down the illusion of each person as an island separate from everyone else.

is there any local group, club, event or workshop you can become a part of? join that! tbh what ive found out is that revolution isnt always tearing things down. sometimes its planting a garden. sometimes its giving your hungry friends food. sometimes its sitting at the library and reading. sometimes its protesting inside capital buildings, sometimes its marching, sometimes its riots. its always about looking out for each other and thats something anyone can start doing!

also sadly no i kinda live in a secluded area from like nearby cities/public spaces (aside from my school of course lol) that would host those kinds of things and i kinda get the feeling that my Very Centrist Parents wouldnt rlly like me getting into that sort of thing lol (or having to provide transportation for me to Get to those places physically)

but (this is the part where i break the forth wall and talk to The Followers) i do recommend and encourage this sort of thing to anyone in a similar situation where they feel like they have no agency to help or contribute to causes they believe in :) YOU CAN CREATE CHANGE!! it is possible for things to get better!

Hiiii, just wanted to talk about the cesium ship. Really wanna write a fanfic about it but since I am relatively new with the ship, I'm having a hard time thinking of a plot. Any ideas/prompts you wanna share that might be inspiring (or that you would wanna read about) (since you're the biggest inspiration and all that hihi <3 )

ANyways with that aside I would LOVE to read your stuff for them fr I love them so much. I actually sat down to come up with some idea suggestions since I was so thrilled to get this ask when I woke up :) so here are some ideas (Under the cut for those just scrolling the tag <3)

idea 1. Bonding over their shared nerdy shit, Miss P with G&G and Pyro with Balloonicorn, maybe Miss P showing Pyro how to play, and Pyro in tern showing her their favorite version of balloonicorn (I always interpret it as like an MLP type thing, which is weird since I was never into MLP ayuhvzckmx) anyways yeah I think the two would combine autisms and become unstoppable :)

idea 2. little bit of angst with this one but I feel its overall nice :) Okay so maybe smth about Pyro disliking taking their mask off because of (Insert your headcanon for this here, for me I just think they feel more comfortable in it than showing their face, but whatever floats your boat :D) and but thinks Miss Pauling will think theyre too weird if they refuse to take it off, so them hyping themselves up to try and take it off for her and then her just offhandedly mentioning how she likes their mask and just idk just her making them feel a lot more confident about it cuz yeah!! its cool!! theyre cool!! :)

idea 3. get into your idea of who asked out who!! how it happened!! i have my ideas but I would personally love to see 1001 takes on this i love everyones ideas :) tbh my idea is that Pauling would ask out pyro, going to everyone in the base for advice on how to do it (like scout because I like the hc of scout & pyro being besties, Demo because fight me demo and pauling are best friends I will talk about this sperately, heavy because he is the most like. competent at this, etc. this is just my idea you can do it any way you like :D) idk I don't wanna put to much into this because to give room for everyone to be able to get their own ideas from it !! :D

I never had any ocs that stuck around before making coach for the stupidest crack fic with my friends,, so idrk how this is supposed to work but whatever. He isn't a very nuanced character yet, but he'll get there eventually.

on the google doc for planning False-hearted (the insane crack fic) this is what was written for coach a while back

"Coach: (deals with some behind the scene shit and plans “plays” to do in battle) {Boss Man} He plans plays for battle but also is in battle observing and making plans on the spot- like we all have radios and hes armed creepin around being like oooooo we got an abandoned sentry ill get that which opens up a space for someone else to come in and yada yada u get the idea (long story short i'm specifying that he gets a gun and gets to be in battle cause teehee silly) YOOOO HE CAN LIKE TRAIN THE MERCS N SHIT BY ANALYSIZING THEIR SKILLS IN BATTLE AND SEEING WHAT TGET CAN WORK OJ AND RAAGGHH cuz they got that training gym area right? coach the personal trainer lol"

Also have I mentioned its a self-insert? I think I may have just said oc but no yeah this guy is just me.

in terms of who this guy is, he gets along well with pretty much everyone, bullies scout like a brother a lot tho. no hard feelings ofc. since a very young age he had a lot of pressure and responsibility dropped on him, so while he is immature and messing around sometimes, he is wary of being too obnoxious, is never vulnerable with others, and puts up this false rigid cool leader guy persona. For now at least.

He may not talk to others about his emotions or whats going on with him, but he doesnt just bottle it up and never think about it. Hes got an over analytical brain and has looked into every single thing hes ever done or said and seems to truly understand so very much about himself. Hes knows the issues he has but cant bring himself to fix them because that takes being vulnerable and brave. Some things he cant be. He appears brave to others in your typical "do whatever it takes to help others and jump into action without worry" way tho.

In terms of backstory and what growing up was like? I havent decided yet lol

Camilla really likes skating rinks inside of recreational centers (fuck if i know what theyre called, but like an all around rink, arcade, bowling alley, wtc etc kinda place. so many bowling alleys double as like 30 other things)

sam owns any claw machine/basketball hoop game. also really good at the racing games for some reason??? no one knows why

camilla has gotten in trouble multiple times with the employees for bringing the skates outside of the rinks (goes to check on bo and allan who will NOT leave the bowling lanes until at least one of them gets a spare)

i should mention that camilla’s probably really good at bowling and just gets bored of it (she cheats with magic but shhh everyones too busy yelling at each other to notice)

isaacs really bad at bowling (the scar fucked up his vision but hes too stubborn to get glasses or contacts. bros half blind in one eye so he cant even see the pins all that well)

jadu cheats in every single game he plays with magic. (that leads to him and isaac arguing over whether or not the golf ball was hit or just compelled with gravity)

sams okay at bowling and literally any other game i didnt mention specifically (he went to arcades and shit a lot as a kid)

bo sucks in arcade games and cannot skate in the roller rink even if he was held at gunpoint to do so (he also comes in last place in gokarts cuz he’s too careful of a driver)

allan cant do arcade games (except for the basketball ones because he used to play in highschool. sam refuses to play against him because he knows hell lose) but yall best be DAMNED he aint rocking peoples shit in gokarts. as long as sam isnt racing hes coming in first (used to speeding in traffic)

Sorry for spam liking half of your promethea tag SHFJKSKFK but I saw one of your posts come up bc I follow the spec evo tag, and I’m intrigued!! I have no clue what’s going on over there, I didn’t see a summary in as far as I scrolled — what’s the story with that world?

oh god yeah i never have posted a summary of wtf is going on have i. i just draw random shit LOL. ok lemme try to say all this without taking forever. um before i start i want to mention that im making the story with my friend who isnt on tumblr! i do most of the worldbuilding for promethea itself (and the creature design for all of cassandra) and they are in charge of another group of people who are pretty important lol. theres a LOT going on, so im just gonna focus on the main thing for now but if you want to know EVERYTHING then i can go over it all lmao

the story focuses on dawn (friend's character) who used to be a part of a group of sun god worshippers that were in charge of guarding the prison of a dragon named cinder. dawn was going to be the next warden/priest and in charge of keeping the prison secure, but a follower of cinder broke in and killed almost everyone there when dawn was a young child. they escaped when a wolf named theo led them to safety. afterwards, they were found and taken in by the king of promethea, jack. after a while, dawn realizes that something is wrong with him. hes being possessed, and its by the god of death. no one else is aware of this, since its been going on since he was a child and hes "himself" most of the time. however, as time goes on, its getting worse and worse and dawn starts looking for a way to help him. during their search, they find a woman named anuba, who strangely enough is looking for the same thing. well pretty quickly they realize that they both know jack, him and anuba being partners when they went to school together. so they start working together. unfortunately this sort of thing doesnt really. happen. ever. and they keep coming up with dead ends.

eventually one of them (not sure who yet, this bitch of a story is still a work in progress <3) comes up with the idea of calling on the sun god for help. the important thing here is that this god isnt the god of the sun, shes the god of damn everything. shes represented by the sun because of how powerful she is. the problem with her is since she's so huge and powerful, getting her attention is nearly impossible, even for someone like dawn who came from a group of her worshippers. anuba suggests letting the dragon whos locked up, cinder, out, since this god was the one who locked cinder up. dawn doesnt like the idea since cinder was locked up after she attempted to destroy all of cassandra, but they dont have many other options. anuba, who's desperate for literally any solution at this point, gets frustrated and goes off on her own to let cinder out anyway.

cinder is free.

now, there are two pieces of information that have been hidden from everyone up until this point. one, cinder is not just a dragon, she is a god, and she is the god who created cassandra. and two, cinder and the god that has been possessing jack are working together, and have been since the beginning. and jack is the one who killed the sun worshippers.

at this point, jack is beyond saving. hes too far gone and basically dead. his body is being used by the death god and when dawn returns, it attempts to kill them and theyre forced to finally kill him. dawn and anuba end up working together again, this time to kill cinder.

and yeah thats it. the ending is a bit rough cuz like i said its still a work in progress and jesus H christ this is so goddamn long already i need to fucking stop i hope this makes sense sorry for taking literally all day to answer its bc im atrocious at writing and it kept getting confusing LOL. theres a bunch of important shit ive left out bc of. the length. so if you have questions pls ask them

nona da ninth spoilers just my thoughts abt it no real structure. lol

i liked a lot of nona but i truly feel like the book coulda been half the size tbh, there were so many Events and Things that i felt like were kind of trivial? i thought the schoolkids were cool and all, but they super fizzle out as soon as the main plot w blood of eden/the Houses gets going, and partly only serve as an introduction to Angel, who’s important because they add another thread to the UNRESOLVED PLOT HOOKS tapestry (the message). couldn’t be fucked to remember most of the more banal events that happen throughout the first half although maybe that’s just cuz i read the first half yesterday and the second half today.

All that said i like a lot o’ the gender fuckery (natch) and jod’s backstory imo was done very well. i think tamsyn muir has a real knack for writing narratives that take a little thinking to unwind, because there’s stuff that’s obviously missing or being skewed in the favor of the narrator. It was a big part of harrow the ninth, and it crept in during gideon, and it shows up here in a pretty big way. Even before the whole “i killed almost all of humanity oop” there was this building sense that jod’s whole heavy is the head schtick was a facade made to cover up the scared bitch underneath who would literally rather wipe the brains of everyone he loves and start again than admit he fucked up big time. I think the writing of Nona’s perspective was also pretty clever such that we the reader could glean what was going on sometimes even when Nona was completely clueless. I’m stupid and my brain is small but I appreciate being given the chance to rub my two little brain cells together while im reading something.

also when i was scrolling thru the tags i came across some paul hate. absolutely not in this house. paul rules. shoutout to palamades and camilla theyre real ones but im excited to see what their literally like steven universe dragon ball fusion is gonna do. Also, ngl, they seem to have a whole “intellectual joy and curiosity even when applied to terrible things” trait that im a little bit of a sucker for. ALSO they are nonbinary. fuck yeah .

truly do not understand what is going on with gideon at all (god bles,s). at first i was pretty sure she was a jod puppet, and then i wasn’t, and i saw some theories about her missing her “heart” which is fun but im also eh on it for purely personal taste reasons. I think it would be fun if jod was fucking with her brain somehow, or if she did the tampering herself--mirror what harrow did in harrow the ninth. i saw something about tamsyn saying harrow and gid are never getting back together in an interview buut im holding out hope that they’ll at least, like. talk. i wanna see them actually address all of the shit that’s gone down between them, indirectly, over the past two books.

ahh hollow being close to front and influencing my (spyte) own emotions towards things is certainly,, Something. its not like its out of the ordinary for us to bleed over neutral or positive opinions + emotions + etc. but like.. this is more negative stuff (which is a little more uncommon, but not rare). its mainly bcuz they dont like any ship content between them and their sourcemates. this is not good bcuz a good 50% of the fan content we see is ships w either quirrel or grimm (and another 50% of those ships arent fucking tagged w the ship names so theyre almost unavoidable). they Do Not like either of them for almost the same reason. theyre repulsed by most people (irl + in source) and they esp dont like romance. quirrel is okay as a person (boring + annoying but not the worst to sit in silence around), and they just dont feel anything towards him and they feel disgusted when they see the fan content. feelings r the same w grimm, they dont like him (boring + annoying again !!! how wonderful) and think hes off putting in the worst way possible.

anyways im neutral towards the ships on a day theyre not bleeding over to me but the days they are,,, wow. okay. hatred and disgust vibes x500

our mom is okay in their opinion, shes interesting to them and likes us and doesnt get mad at us that often and almost never argues w us. our father though.. he argues with them all the time. anytime he speaks theres always a problem and hollow does Not have a filter so they end up getting pissed and arguing and then its a whole Thing for a few hours and our dad just starts screaming at a point etc. etc. they also generally dont think hes interesting and theres nothing to benefit from interaction w him. sooo 0/10 for dad, 7.5/10 for mom bcuz she does get after us for our arfid and thats beyond annoying.

also, our friends piss them off regularly. they often feel like snapping at them and getting mad but hold back most of the time cuz they know i would cry my eyes out if we even had a minor disagreement. the only times they dont stay quiet abt it is when i agree w them (typically out of confusion on my part).

they also seem to b the main source of our whole "we are the only real people. everyone else doesnt actually exist. no one has real emotions or lives, we're the only ones who actually exist." thing. so thats a bit telling of one reason why they dont like many people. this happens especially with our brother and most people we see once and never again. they also feel this when they see others in sexual, romantic/romance adjacent, or generally affectionate (?) relationships.

its.. very strange to see others be in love and then only have the thoughts and vibes of "thats not right! why are they doing that? thats disgusting, i cant believe thats something they would do in front of us! what the fuck! that looks/is so unnatural!" etc. etc. its like.. x20 strength when we witness someone we're close to doing it. we've been in relationships before, and the feeling only gets worse as time goes on while we were in the relationship.

it also happens to ANY physical touch. handshakes, fist bumps, hugs, kisses (platonic or not), hair touching, cuddling etc. is all disgusting to them (and whoever is close enough to feel it too)

its. also very difficult to get their approval. i think i understand what "they dont like many people, so dont be surprised if they dont like you" means now. they even have neutral feelings towards the other members of the system, and they only like me moderately enough to talk to me.

so uh. i think its safe to say hollow is our main holder/source of repulsion towards people and any sort of relationships. i was wondering where the feelings would come from because they seemed to come and go at random, but i think i got it now :P

Okay this is gonna be sappy amd all over the place but i dont often make posts like this sooo...

I came to tumblr... a little over a year ago now? And made my main account! I don't go on social media too often (not actively) but i was like hey, tumblr people seem like theyre having a good time so I'll go over there! My first posts and notes on there are sometimes kinda awkward in a way that screams "not comfortably talkative on social media"

I also notably was not into mcyt at the time. I'd not really kept up with any mcyt stuff aside from maybe mcc since towards the end of the dsmp (and even then i got back into dsmp for the first time in ages a bit before wilburs last stream). I'd heard bad things about the dsmp finale and people i used to find funny were less funny and it was all just less fun. I followed the dsmp tags cuz i hadn't quite dropped mcyt yet but i was all but out of it otherwise. (I also had been convinced by the stigma around the dsmp fandom that it wasnt a great community to be active in so had never been involved in it before)

And then, around the time of the flippa trial a random quackity vod with a clickbaitey title got into my yt recommended and i was curious so i checked it out. I'd heard of the qsmp and saw some people talking about it but i didn't think i liked enough people in it enough to watch it. The vod was quackitys pov of slime finding out about the first flippa misclick and trying to kill the eggs and something at some point intrigued me so i watched slimes pov of some other qsmp stuff and i think something about slimariana got me. I was hooked. And then i watched flippas trial and wilbur returning and loved tallulah and wanted to keep up with tallulah so started to watch phil and bad and i was in.

I started keeping up with qsmpblr around the time of flippas trial, i know because i recognise the liveblogs from the time. I didn't make too many posts but i kept an eye on the tag and it was fun. Everyone here is so lovely.

Then, over time, I slowly became more active and confident to the point where at the time of the brazil meetup it was all I'd post and all I'd get notes on and I started to feel bad for my followers on my main that weren't into mcyt. So i made this blog!

So now im here and im active and im not... social necessarily (i want to send more asks and have more conversations im trying to be better at that) but i do things! Hell, I've posted a fanfic I've written thats how comfortable I've gotten here. Everyone on qsmpblr has made me feel so welcome and happy and holy shit u guys r awesome.

Whether ur my mutual (speaking of since im not social on here i have no clue how many of my mutuals know we're mutuals cuz of how tumblr treats sideblogs) or my follower or someone i follow or just someone i see around a lot here you are all so great and this is a community I'm so happy to be a part of.
