#do you fucking hear yourself
howlerofthemoon2, in regard to this post:
Genuine question cause I've been seeing posts of this nature on my dash. Why is this the focus? When we have a clear perpetrator and clear victims, why do we need to focus on how to heal the perpetrators (Zionist Israelis) as they are still harming people (Palestinians) and not actively removing the club from their hand
This is a history blog written by an American Jewish Holocaust historian who is concerned with memory and attitudes within her own community, and this is what I choose to write about in relation to my observations of the discourse surrounding recent events.
You're seeing posts of this nature because people like you are going around leaving comments implying that all Jews are right wing Israelis complicit in murdering babies in Gaza, and it's traumatizing us. Because that is rhetoric which has been violently deployed against us for centuries. You're seeing posts of this nature because people like you are going around policing the conversations Jewish creators choose to have in relation to their lived experiences since Oct 7. We would love not to be having these conversations, but we have to, because of users like you.
I am presently choosing to use my knowledge as a historian to call in parts of my community, and help explain some of our communal responses to things to outsiders. If you would like to see me screaming about how much I h8 Israel and what a Good, Righteous, anti-Zionist Left Wing Jew I am, there are plenty of posts like that. And if you don't like what I write about on my history blog as an American Jewish Holocaust historian, then don't follow me.
Finally, I don't believe that this WAS a genuine question. It's so cartoonishly stepped in hostile, anti-Semitic, fifth-columnist, global JudeoZionist hivemind undertones and assumptions that it's difficult to believe it wasn't intentional. Also your blog only has one post. But, in case you are being genuine, please understand that people just like you are the reason why Jews like me and so many of the Jews who follow this blog feel deeply unsafe participating in non-Jewish pro-Palestinian activist spaces.

claiming that the wolfenstein games are examples of "white man bad" sounds like it should be a self report in and of itself

honestly astonished that someone whose last interaction with me was her approaching me at a party where i'd been avoiding her to say "hey, i hope you're doing alright now, like i hope your life is good," and me saying "it is" and immediately walking away from her thinks that it would be cool and chill to dm me like 'omg hey i heard we live in the same city!' like fuck off girl. i got no time for you or anyone else who fucks around with ppl like you do

i'm not trying to start anything, but i just saw a post criticizing misha collins for not choosing to quit spn when the network was homophobic and he was "profiting from homophobia" and i just think it's kind of... wild? that young people think that a person could just. decide to not work for a prejudiced corporation when they have a family to provide for?
i don't know, i don't even really want to debate or go into it more, but it's just kind of surreal to see opinions from people who weren't there in 2013 when misha collins was literally the only person willing to support not just destiel shippers but actual queer and trans and ace fans. i have no doubt that he saved lives through the care he showed to vulnerable young people who desperately needed to see someone give a damn about them. he's significantly flawed in many ways, but he will always be a saint in my eyes for how much he cared.
like i just don't think that people accustomed to this modern era where hardly anyone blinks over two men kissing on tv can understand what it was like when we were mocked and silenced, when we weren't allowed to breathe the word 'destiel' without getting booed, and misha was the only damn person who spoke up for us. the only one. who was probably risking his job in saying the things he did.
things have changed. that's wonderful. don't judge people surviving previous eras by the standards of today.

Cozy Glow is such an interesting litmus test for die-hard bronies. I was checking r/mlp to prep a post and there’s a discussion post about how she deserved what she got and. How do I tell bronies that children should not be tried as adults. How do I tell bronies that psychopaths and sociopaths deserve human rights and treatment and support. How do I tell bronies that cruel and unusual punishments are bad. How do I tell bronies that the death penalty is wrong. How do I tell bronies that a ruling body should not have absolute say over putting someone to death, least of all a 6-year-old child.
These are all my recent google searches.

how do people watch atla and genuinely come to the conclusion that the traumatised 14 year old girl is the true irredeemable villain of the series?

Proshipping isn't problematic. Fiction doesn't affect reality on a 1:1 basis. Art therapy is actually very helpful in this sense. Learn about sex ed, censorship history and the actual red flags of real dangerous people. It's good to know these things, because any online community and space can have dangerous people. This includes antis whom 80+ have been revealed to be pedophiles.
Mate are you stupid

You know it’s actually really nice being trans and true to myself as a person
Like, progress feels slow but every month I look back and think “Wow, that’s something unique I learned about myself!” And I am a much happier person because of that!
There is a girl under all of these repressed feelings that me and my friends are uncovering.
And she is just, Wonderful

i will say it's incredibly ironic that generation loss is about how streamers are forced into a position of taking place in content they do not wish to for one reason or another, being manipulated by companies and brands into fitting a certain mold in order to keep going (and even that isnt enough more often than not), struggling with the influence from viewers and trying to understand what they're here for, what they want, trying so desperately to be worthy of Existence in that space and yet wanting to run from it to simply be Human again, LOSING THEMSELVES in this process all while fighting it, and now despite the clear message of wishing to be more than a hot topic of the week it's been reduced to matpats current cash grab thats given absolutely zero thought because i refuse to believe anyone is actually that bad at media literacy lmfao

wow I didn’t think reblogging that tea post and then seeing people’s tags would deal me such strong psychic damage. come over I can fix you I can find a tea you will like. “I don’t like tea” how can you say that as a blanket statement when there are so many vastly different kinds of tea. head in hands
