Imma talk about my experience with special interests as a level 2 autistic teenager.

My earliest special interest I can think of is monkeys. I was 3, it went on till I was 4 or 5 I think. I had monkey stuffed animals and toys and I watched Dora the explorer for boots the monkey. my big sister got me my monkey stuffed animal for my 3rd birthday, I cherished it and brought it everywhere. When my grandma moved to our trailer park, he was boxed up. And I didn’t find him again until I was going through boxes. I carry him every day in my arms and he is my favorite stuffie ever.

One of my other special interests was docmcstuffins. I had all the plushies and toys and watched the show everyday. I would sit on the floor and just stare at the tv for hours. This went on until I was 6 I think.

I’m pretty sure my second longest special interest was when I was 7-9, was fairies. I loved the tinkerbell movies and made fairy houses in the backyard and at school instead of playing. I’d talk about fairies and my belief of fairies to everyone. Mainly my special education aids, like “you believe in fairies?” Or I would ramble about fairies with them not totally understanding me cause my speech impediment. I still like fairies.

My longest special interests are horror movies(like chucky), antique and vintage dolls/toys, stuffed animals, and others. I’ve liked these for 5 years. And think about them all the time, to the point where I think of my toys and stuffies as my “babies” and have spent $100s on them. They mean a ton to me and have to carry my monkey and Peppa pig stuffies to the toilet and shower. They cover my room, and my room is my safe place cause it’s filled with all my special interests.

Conclusion is that I have very fixated interests and have to have access to them at all times. This is why school is hard, sometimes I can’t draw or think of them cause of my mind being all over the place that I become extremely dysregulated and hit my head or hit things near me. Which is embarrassing.

What type of toy/show hyperfixations we all had as kids with one piece characters

I talked about ASL before-

BUT IM GONNA GO IN DEPTH WITH WHAT SHOWS AND SPECIFIC TOYS:

Ace already loved dinosaurs because they were big and angry and scary and all that Jazz. But what REALLY did it for him was Land Before Time. Don't look into it too much- BUT ALSO DO BECAUSE IF YOU RECALL THE LONG DINOSAUR'S (I totally forgot his name) "SITUATION"- it makes sense I promise just trust me.

Sabo liked cars but he had very high standards when it came to the cars. Especially the shows he watched. They had to be compelling and have a good story. Usually he hated any car show that came out because he felt they didn't do cars justice and ended up just watching the Disney movie over and over. He caught Ace watching Dino Trux (we are gonna pretend these time frames match up and that show came out in the 2000s) and he was OUTRAGED.

Luffy just likes bugs he's a simple dude. One time he got too close to a scorpion and it stung him IN the eye.

For everyone else-

I feel like Nami was a Shopkins girl. I thought about Bratz dolls but I feel like she took joy in collecting all the little foods and bags and shit and trading them.

Usopp was a Pokemon kid. I can't explain it but he was.

Chopper liked Docmcstuffins a lot but he was torn between identifying with Dottie or the stuffed animals and he had a whole breakdown because of his trauma.

Zoro actually never watched Star Wars as a kid and each time he tried he fell asleep in the first ten minutes- but he always bought the Lightsabers and figurines at the store despite having no clue what the colors meant or what any of the characters were like.

Sanji liked Power Rangers because there were five of them and they were all a team that worked together and no one was ever excluded. Also there was always one girl in pink and ALL he wanted as a kid was to be a power ranger BUT whenever he wanted to play power ranger his brothers would laugh and he would cry while watching a rainbow cast beat up some ugly monster. (Also that one outfit he and his brothers matched in)

Franky was bob the builder and bought all of the little kits. I don't need to explain this.

Robin loved Reading Rainbow with a passion. And she didn't play with toys, she read and did puzzles.

Brooke is too old for any toys I can think of in whatever Universe this is and the only thing I can think of that he would like is Fantasia.

Jibei? Jimbe? didn't have a TV but he played with those fish bath toys all the time. He pretended they were his friends.
