First, you gave his sequel to the antagonist while reducing Stephen to being lovesick rather than the strong freaking TITULAR character of his own supposed movie.

Then you completely reverse his character development from What If...? Season 1, turning him into exactly what MoM Reed Richards told 616 Stephen that he was.

It appears the only correct treatment & love and FREAKING ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF STEPHEN AS THE TRUE HERO THAT SUFFERED 1,500+ YEARS MISERY IN ORDER TO RESTORE THE 616 UNIVERSE IS GOING TO COME FROM...

So I just had a wild thought

What if Wade causes an incursion?

We know from Dr. Strange: Multiverse of Madness that reality/timeline hopping can cause incursions.

Wade hopped between at least 7 realities in search of a Wolverine to save his timeline AND we know he hopped to 616 to try and join the Avengers.

AND he kept a Logan from a different reality in his reality at the end of the movie.

Probably not but imagine that plays a role in getting the X-men/mutants into the MCU…

Went to see Across the Spiderverse tonight and it was amazing. (Might be some spoilers).

This was like part two of a trilogy(?) and the story was split pretty evenly between Miles and Gwen’s POV before and after their storylines intertwined. Loved all the different spider people like the super serious, morally grey Miguel O’Hara, Gwen’s mentor Jessica Drew, Hobie the SpiderPunk, Pavitr Prabhakar the Mumbai Spiderman and Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider.

So many references and Easter eggs from comic and movie Spiderman with clips of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Also the PlayStation game and it’s Spiderman made an appearance.

The guys in the row in front of me freaked out when Donald Glover cameoed (in live action) as The Prowler, so this may be canon for the MCU and Miguel mentioned Doctor Strange and America Chavez messing with the multiverse.

Cool cliffhanger ending so when it gets to Beyond The Spiderverse the action will kick off right away.

So Wanda “I’m a parable for women’s mental health struggles” Maximoff indeed committed suicide on screen. Wanda “half my backstory is that my dad is one of the most famous Jewish characters in comics & all my kids are queer” Maximoff did in fact spend an entire film losing her mind, hunting gay children, being accused of making up several of said children, and then fully losing hope and committing suicide.

Whereupon she was crushed to death.

Died by “blunt force trauma.”

Her magic (assumedly) teleported her to the woods outside Westview as she died, so that crazy amnesiac Agatha Harkness could find her corpse.

The Avengers didn’t go and find Wanda’s body. They Left Her. As a Jane Doe. Alone. In the Woods.

And our only hopes of getting her back are Agatha’s ambition, or a resurrected Billy figuring out who he really is, going rogue and trying to save her soul himself.

I’m glad Jac Schaefer (who is apparently Wanda’s cleanup writer now) is facing the horror head on. Because she’s right—it was horrifying (though not for the reasons Waldron & Raimi thought).

But nothing could have prepared me.

Latino bilingual person done right in the MCU!

Holy Shit, I’ve been so shocked by how much attention my last post got (for some reason), I completely forgot to realize that Jack Russell actually has realistic Bilingualism! I made a previous about it being done weirdly in Strange 2: MoM with America so I won’t talk about her writing issues here, just check out the last post I did about her, But I will cover how Jack Russel was written right or at least better in comparison: Unlike how America switches between languages with seemingly no reason and unnaturally (A.K.A reacting in English but then deciding to speak Spanish to people with native English speakers for no reason. Seriously, Is her first language English or Spanish? Etc.) ; You can immediately tell that Spanish is his native language and at the same time understand that he’s fluent and natural with English without causing confusion or leaning into stereotypes! Like how he usually talks English but when he’s talking or muttering to himself he speaks Spanish (therefore hinting that he thinks in his native language). He also inserts Spanish words naturally in his conversation; using a Spanish word that specifically means something akin to hired sadistic hitmen/goons when talking about the monster hunters. He doesn’t just randomly say it but actually seems to say it because there’s no perfect translation for that word he knows from the top of his head. His Spanish SLIPS into his English, Like an actual Latino who know English too! So Happy about this :’). America’s Bilingual Dialogue felt like it was written by someone who didn’t know much about how Bilingual people talked but this Halloween Special with a guy named after a cute dog got it perfect and I appreciate that.

Madness Made Sane

Part One (REWRITE)

I’ve seen universes collapse. I’ve seen heroes fall and robot overlords rise. A fortune teller told me that my powers lined up with an old prophecy.

The Scarlet King, a nexus being. A king would rise to fight a witch clothed in scarlet. It was never said who would win in the end. I was destined to be a champion to protect worlds from Chthon, the destroyer. Some protector I turned out to be.

My world fell to the might of Ultron. I was only saved by the Watcher right as my world was destroyed. He told me my fate was bigger than one world. Whatever that meant.

I lost track over the countless worlds that I traversed. I barely found a place to lay my head before I had some monster tracking me. Not exactly easy living.

With time I met up with another multiversal traveler. America Chavez, AC as I grew to call her. It felt like I had a sister in her, and to her, I was her protector her guardian. We looked out for one another. We ate together, fought together, told each other terrible jokes. It was a blast.

Eventually we met up with some sorcerer who called himself Defender Strange. Apparently he was part of a team called the Defenders.

And so that leads us to right now in my tale. Strange, Chavez and I were running. A mummified looking being of pure destruction on our tails.

"Keep going!" Strange yells to Chavez as him and I worked to hold the monster at bay. The monster's reddish pupils stared daggers into mine.

I hurled a slab of sharpened concrete into it. The monster lost its footing but only momentarily.

"Y/N!!" America called out to me. The monster slammed its linen tentacle into a chest, knocking all the air out of my lungs and off the edge of the precipice Strange and I had found ourselves on.

Strange tried to catch me but it was too late. I fell further and further into the void. The last thing I heard was America's screams as it all faded to black.

Or so I thought.

"I think he's dead" a young voice called out in the darkened void.

"So are we going to poke him with a stick or not?" another similar voice asked.

I opened my eyes to find two twin boys standing over me, their attention was on one another, arguing. I was in the backyard of a two story suburban home. Did I fall into Pleasantville?!?

"I'm not gonna poke a dead body, Tommy!" the one in red and blue argued, "Mom would kill us if she found out we poked a dead-"

His brother, clothed in a green track jacket, screamed, "Billy!!! He's not dead!"

The boys screamed. I couldn't help but scream too. I tried to get up but I ended tripping on a metal slide.

"Where am I?" I tried to get my bearings. "Who are you?"

"You fell from space" Billy answered, pointing up to the sky.

"Spaceman. We. mean you. no harm" Tommy tried to pronounce each word to me.

"It's okay guys, I speak English" I tried to pacify them. "All I remember is-"

I was cut off by a burst of red magic. Chaos magic. It picked me up and lifted me a couple feet in the air.

"Who are you?" A female voice called out from the nearby house. And out walked her. Five foot six, long reddish hair, dazzling green eyes. Red hoodie and yoga pants that fit her just right. She was gorgeous. The most beautiful woman I've ever seen.

I wasn't one to believe in love at first sight. But seeing her, I could start believing in it.

"Mom! Don't!" Billy shouted to the woman. "He's friendly."

I could feel her. Her essence probed my very being.

"I can hear your thoughts of me" her ethereal self giggle and blushed. "I'm Wanda. Wanda Maximoff"

"(Y/N)" I answer back as she set me down gently.

"I haven't met another magic user in a long time" she walks up to me and shakes my hand. "Where did you come from?"

"Earth 96. It no longer exists." I answer back. "Do you know of anyone who might be able to help?"

"I think I might know someone" Wanda answers back. "Would you like to stay for supper? I have paprikesh on the stove."

"Paprikesh sounds wonderful" I answer back with a smile.

Dinner was nice. The first real meal I had around a table since I lost home. The boys relegated me with tales of their lives, their powers, and even their dreams of someday joining their Earth's Mightiest Heroes: the Illuminati.

"On my world we had Avengers. Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, Thor, the Black Widow. They were great" I sadly reflected on the team I lost.

Wanda reached across the table and gave my hand a gentle squeeze. Her eyes told me of immense pain and yet there was a resolve there, stronger than my own.

Wanda put the boys down for bed in their rooms. I quietly sat on the couch as she tossed me a pillow and a blanket.

"I can write down the directions for you and you can head out after breakfast tomorrow. If you want." She smiles at me.

"Thank you Wanda." I flash a small smile at her. "you know Billy and Tommy are amazing."

"well they had me for a mother" she jokes. We couldn't help but share a laugh. "Is it true?"

"Is what true?" I looked at her confused

"That you think I'm the most beautiful woman you've ever seen?" I was left dry mouthed. She giggles, "I read your mind when we met."

"well I mean...uh...um" this woman left me speechless.

"Good night Y/N" she walks up to her room, a saunter in her step. A lesser man would've followed her right up those steps. If I could stay on this world, I would've.

But Chavez needed me. The Scarlet Witch was still hunting her.

I set out the next morning. Giving the Maximoff clan a hug before I left. I flew to the coordinates Wanda gave me.

A large stone building in the middle of Central Park. No markings no signs. Just a large slab of concrete.

I approach the only door in to the building. I didn't even knock and the door opens on its own.

"Welcome to the Illuminati" a polite English voice calls out to me.

"Thank you, Mister..."

"Xavier. Charles Xavier" the voice answered as a hover chair bound man floated out to greet me.

This should be interesting.

Agatha: “How did you not realize you were becoming morally corrupt?”

Wanda: “Excuse me?!”

Y/N: “Yeah, by the time your crown started to resemble devil horns, it should have been a sign for some introspection-”

Agatha: “-Don’t forget the mirror dimension in Kamar Taj-”

Y/N: “-Another literal indicator of your need to self reflect on your descent to corruption via the Darkhold”

Wanda: “And how would you recognize this?!”

Agatha: “It’s called narrative symbolism, duh!”

Man if I had a nickel for every time a superhero almost destroyed the multiverse because they wanted to be a parent THAT BADLY...I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Still trying to navigate this site, so sorry for the janky formatting.  This is a post about my Re-write Defender Strange! He is much more integral to the plot, and accompanies Wong for the most part. He serves as an ally against Wanda and also as a window into the way Stephen Strange works, for us the audience as well as for Wong  

Some of these concepts are outdated because I didn’t officially start making my re-write until after I compiled a bunch of disconnected ideas and headcanons, so some of them are very old and irrelevant but I still like them so I’ve attached them anywho.  I have his backstory filled out now, but it isn’t fully fleshed out yet, so I’ll instead write about the changes to his character and involvement in the re-write in chronological order. I’ll upload his backstory later on hopefully! Here we go!

He is Sorcerer Supreme of his universe (617) because the blip never happened, and therefor the title never got passed onto anyone else. This means he’s also five years older than our MCU 616 Stephen.

He is very independent as Sorcerer Supreme, where MCU 616 Wong is very connected to Kamar-Taj, Defender is not. He operates from his Sanctum and has Defender Wong as his only real constant ally.

He has a guinea pig called Patchwork Quilt, and she is his pride and joy. 

Cyttorak (I assume is it’s name?) is not controlled by Wanda, and instead is just a creature from a different dimension that he managed to piss off. America is also with him, having taken refuge in universe 617 after she fell into it.

Defender gets very badly wounded by Cyttorak, and with no other choice he decides to sacrifice America and absorb her power in hopes that he could control it and banish the creature before it did anymore harm. This causes America to panic.

At the same time that this is occurring, Wanda (616) is trying to dream walk. As a result of the many many multiversal tamperings 616 has been up to (Endgame, Loki, NWH etc etc) mixed with Wanda’s dreamwalking and America’s uncontrollable power going haywire, the Multiversal barrier between 616 and 617 rips open, and Defender, America and Cyttorak fall through into 616.

Cyttorak has a sort of venom or corrosive quality to its tendrils which has begun to infect Defender. Due to his title of supremacy in universe 617 his body could use magic to subconsciously fight off this venom, much like he can with any other disease or illness. Unfortunately, now that he’s in 616, a place where the magic is slightly different and Wong is the Sorcerer Supreme, he doesn’t have this healing factor. If he has any hopes of surviving he needed to get back to 617.

After Stephen and America vanish into the multiverse Defender assists Wong in tracking down Wanda after Kamar-Taj falls, despite his injuries. Wong learns a lot about the way Stephen functions through Defender, and Defender learns a lot about himself through Wong’s perspective on Stephen. Defender also helps Wong with his insecurities and feelings of unworthiness as Sorcerer supreme, giving him advice and encouragement as a fellow man of supremacy.

Stephen (who is in sinister’s universe) uses Defender’s body to dreamwalk and communicate to Wong. He manages to tell him Wanda has America and that he needed to save her before the souls of the damned interfere and Defender’s body goes unconscious.

In the end Defender saves Stephen from the souls by sacrificing his soul, and thus gaining control over them. This allowed Stephen to take control over the body, and fight Wanda while Defender controlled the souls as wings/cloak/sheild.

Defender wants to right the wrong he made in trying to take America’s power and is the first to realize she’s the key to defeating Wanda. He sacrifices his life to save America. 

Defender passes away after Stephen stops dream walking, as his soul and physical body were too weak to continue functioning. He passes his supremacy to Defender Wong (who was summoned into the final battle by America) and he takes his body back to 617 to be prepared for the funeral and following ceremony.  All the parts of the plot are not concrete yet, as I’ve only written out the second draft, but this is what I have so far regarding Defender! It is still very condensed and brief, but I hope it gives y’all a bit of a glimpse into his character. I’ll be uploading concepts of all the other Variants and characters involved in the story and how they interact and add to the plot. I’ll be tagging all my re-write posts under MoMstinkycut which is also what I’ve tagged my Insta posts under.  Thank you for your time, fellas!
