Bit of dool anatomy, sorry if it's too much for your pure eyes! Ye I really like my boy, preparing him for artfight this year. If you don't know about him, now you do. He's the same Spamton as the ROOMIE SPAM and his first drawing in this form is HERE.

He's a very laid off Spamton, free and doing what he wishes to. Just enjoying life. Plush (my sona) makes him fitting clothes bcs he's literally so big it's hard for him to find good size, wings ain't helping. But he still likes them, he pretty much manifested them on his own while his body was 3D printed by Plush. I like my new Spam.

@myondolls Gosh, your answer was good for my last question 🤩. I'm still getting my head around it 🤯. But you seem like you know your way around a doll (rainbow high specifically) so I wanted to ask about it!

Story time: When I only had, like, 5 rainbow high dolls, I pulled some of their hands off to get a jacket on them (before knowing it was a trap). Each time the wrist broke - like in that last post - but further down the wrist-discs rod, so it still basically clicked back into place. It still comes off again if you extend the hand too far (because the rod falls out). And that is sort of a problem ☹.

I have questions about that. And I don't want to break my own doll open to look deep inside, so I thought I'd ask.

a) How far down does that discs pin go? is it all the way down to the elbow?

b) why doesn't the disks pins end (deeper in the arm) fall out when you break it at the wrist. It seems pretty tight in there, and I don't get why. Especially when there are so many people customising arms and hands in the doll customising world. It seems counter-productive to my uneducated brain for it to not do that.

If anyone has thoughts on this, or wants to take on some community doll education for the sake of us uneducated doll collectors, feel free to add on. (I just realised I could probably google this. But it's always nice to hear it from people, yk?)

I'd like to introduce to everyone this horrid thing I created about a year ago but haven't shown many people yet (probably for the best).

This is Baby. AKA The Monster. AKA Sight Tremendous and Abhorred, AKA Vile Insect, AKA A Thing Such As Even Dante Could Not Have Conceived, etc, etc. It's made from bits of scrap fabric I scrounged from various sources and is roughly the size of a human toddler. Its design is based on Mary Shelly's original descriptions of Frankenstein's creature.

But that's not all! Behold!

You can dissect this little abomination to reveal a full set of crocheted, knitted, and scrap fabric organs, all hand-stitched by yours truly!

It has a heart, stomach, lungs, liver, small and large intestine, kidneys, bladder, and, of course, a brain! So it can ponder the horrors of its own existence!

I used this pattern by Less Than Three for the heart. I ended up felting it because I screwed up most of the stitches (I was relatively new to crochet at the time). The result was a bit of a blobby mess, but oh well.

So yeah. This thing lives in my house now (my family hates it). I have yet to reap the full consequences of my hubris.

edit: because i've gotten comments on both this post and the one i shared in the subreddit that seem to misinterpret why i made this, y'all this is meant to be satire, i'm not actually trying to 'outdo' the original panel, it's supposed to look like the S3 art style which looks boring and stiff compared to the original LMAO (I even used S3 panels as the base to work off of when creating this) so yes all the issues with the redrawn version are on purpose, i'm well aware it's not as good as the original and that the anatomy is wack, that just tells me i succeeded because it's p much exactly what S3 of LO looks like JFKDLAJFDASKLJKASLD

Ash Silverstone Doll Analysis

Because I knew the controversity, but I didn't think it would be... this 😬.

My opinion: Basically, Ash Silverstone's male body is an updated version of the rainbow high series 2 sculpts imo and I don't get it 🙁. I'm not saying this is a bad thing exactly. The only problem is it was released with series 4 Rainbow High Dolls. And Shadow High Series 1 dolls were way better too, by this time. Thus, it is confusing.

It has it's pros and cons. I haven't heard about these things enough. So I will share. Go down the list lol uwu. 😊

- DOLL STANDS -

I didn't notice the shape to start with, but the boy dolls have unrealisticly-realistic masculine bodies. And they don't fit on the same stands as the girls do. But, they were realesed with a series of dolls with advanced stand tops. And the masc doll stand is more reminiscent of the older stands.

Also, Ash in his clothes was still extremely tight on this stand too 🤨. Weird they didn't fix it.

* Extra fact: All of Ash's pants come with drawstrings. No valcro. I feel like this should have been a thing, for the girls, some time. This somewhat offends me. Not that that's important. But I am slightly irked now. 😐

- DOLL BODIES -

Overview: Ash Silverstone's overall mold is pretty and shiny. But... that actually makes it less posable. Above, we compare on the left, Ash Silverstone, to Krystal Bailey on the right. Their upper arms are brought as close to the body as they can. And as the image shows, Ash cannot bring his elbows to his torso. Which, strongly, annoys me.

Also, the legs on Ash's mould cannot come further together, because the thighs are so thick and the crutch is a crutch. Which is fine. But also, it looks so cool. But then it does that. Ugh!

Also, mentioning the torsos. The boy torso is so unrealistic that I find it cringy. BUT, look at those collar bones. If the boy has the collarbones on his mould... why don't the girls?

The Actually body of Ash's sculpt, is like... thicker? Than the female mould. Which is both offending and crazy. The curvy doll has yet to come out yet, but it would probably be easier for MGA to recycle some of Ash's moulds, because they are thick enough.

The tiny knees on Ash look Aesthetically pleasing, but they too, are problematic. See the source bellow:

I find it extremely annoying, because you can feel Ash' knee connecting with the plastic of the thigh, but there is no space for it to come out. I would be fine if it didn't do that. Boys are less flexible irl typically, sure. But the knee wants to bend *release frustrated scream*

Furthermore, Ash's character can do the equivalent of a split. Showing he is above the typical flexibility abilities of most men. But his knees are less efficient than the girls? This is problematic world building. And a nitpick. And frustrating anyway.

When comparing hands, it is clear that Ash Silverstone's mold is much choppier and low quality than newer molds. I compared my S3 Daria mould and it still had the indentations, but I believe Shadow High series 1 doesn't have them. I also find the larger hand mold is held back by the closeness of the wrist. It doesn't turn as well, doesn't quite have as much movement as his female doll counterparts, because these issues. Which is annoying, to a lesser degree. His wrist pins look pretty bad though. don't know if I just drew a bad straw, or if they were all pretty bad in the same way.Not sure I wanna find out 😬.

Ash Silverstone's wrist joint is... annoying bulky. It makes click sounds and has 3 spots it prefers to be and shifts between. The join is stiff, and takes a bit more to stop in the right position than the female doll molds. A great fidget toy, sure. Still annoying to pose.

Finally, last but not least, we have,

Ash Silverstone has FLIPPING Rotation at his ANKLES!!! 🤩 why did I not pick that up before. Everything I hear about joints like waist and ankles is that they are annoying. But apart from the fact that you have to stop them from spinning when taking off his annoyingly tight shoes, they seem really strong and capable. Put him on the doll stand and he can so so much more. He could kick a ball. He could trip someone with his high heels he is wearing.

I can't tell if this is a positive or negative trait. But I don't care. I find it really exciting. Between his eyes and his ankle joints, I wanna get another boy doll. Because ankle joints are cool. His eyes are cute. And everything else can get fucked. I really don't get my own appreciation. But I can appreciate it.

Y'all, keep avoiding the boy dolls. That way I can get them cheaper 😊🤪😆.

void archives centric solar system

void archives with welt is relatively difficult but not so much where he can’t handle it. he can put them on a leash if he wants to. when he leaves them alone with either of the other two, however,

in short: void/welt—married. void/hill—freaky side chick to psychologically torture^1. void/day—freaky side chick to psychologically torture^2.

about the body types/heights—

VA: sharp and slim, wide angular shoulders. the tallest of the four, meant to be long. uncanny valley incarnate. at least 200cm.

Welt: dad bod, because he’s 80 years old, but a well defined one—‘traiblazing makes me feel younger’ cit. around 180cm

Boothill: Long Legs. around 190cm—his height was enhanced when they replaced his body

Sunday: soft shapes to contrast the sharp shapes of the clothes he wears, which make him look bigger. he’s the only one whose height is relatively normal, which leads to him being the shortest out of the four. about 170/175cm
