To Everyone
I'm not keen on "chain messages". I think they're annoying, to be honest. However, I received one that was quite heartwarming. Instead of sending to everywhere via direct messages, I am choosing to do it here.
This is for all the people who come across my Tumblr. (I altered it to fit all genders, not just women, as it was meant to be an encouraging message for women.)
You can deal with stress and carry heavy burdens. You can smile when you feel like screaming, and you sing when you feel like crying. You cry when you're happy and laughs when you're afraid. Your love is unconditional. There's only one thing wrong with you: You forget what you're worth! You are all unique and you are all awesome.

I feel like people, including myself, get caught up in a fearful haze of lies on the internet. I may mess up sometimes and contribute to the lies, but I forget I have a choice to turn away or take a moment to gather logic so it makes sense. It's messy, but we always have a chance to clean up our mess. It is important to be aware of certain things, yes, but there's so much fear mongering on here that we won't know what is lying and what is truth. Take a break, please.

There's something weirdly...disingenuous in all the posts questioning why Orym might want to talk to Dorian specifically and not the others. Like, this post is really good and covers the non-romantic reasons why this makes sense, and I agree with it entirely! Also though, it's not like Liam hasn't pretty consistently made it clear that Orym has feelings for Dorian. You do not need to like this (I think it's abundantly clear that I think you can openly dislike a ship) but you do look kinda dumb if you're like "why would he want to specifically speak to someone he's known longer than anyone but Fearne, who's slightly removed from the current tragedy, and whom he has repeatedly messaged whenever he's feeling upset?"

Not a big fan of the new Cool Corporate thing where they talk about protecting your mental health and preventing burnout as if that's entirely on you and has nothing to do with the work they're given which is. the actual cause of burnout and mental health issues

this is a post scribbled angrily in glitter pen in my diary pls ignore <3
#this is so insecure and bullshit but like#sometimes writing fics is. no fun#bc you feel like you can't keep up with other writers just churning out fics and they're all so good and nuanced and better than yours#or bc you can't keep up with your own brain and all the ideas and you don't have the time to do them all justice#or bc you just can't get a spark of a conversation with other fans to catch fire the way you want to so you're just.#spinning wheels in your own head wishing you were better faster friendlier less alone#and let's not forget the fucking commodification of fandom#getting messages in your inbox only to find it's people harping for more content for a fandom on the back burner or a fic you've left behin#i love that you love my work like that but. it makes me feel like i'm at a family reunion and my aunt is asking me about the job i had#two jobs ago#and somehow you keep getting those messages even tho your current work is sparse on comments and reblogs#so you spend your slivers of free time writing something you hope is good for these characters you love only to feel like you're standing#alone in the street hawking a mediocre finished product and everyone is walking past you disinterested#it's fucking isolating. it's draining#you can only write “for yourself” so much before it's not worth the time and effort#obviously i will keep writing. but like. it's fucking frustrating. and i feel like a petulant child about it but i just can't shake it#anyway. here's wonderwall or whatever

I cared. I still do. I still think of you and I still cry over you. You were importat to me. You still are.
#I was interested. I wanted to get to know you.#I did not want validation. I only said it because you said it... I don't know why. I was susceptible.#I was blindly accepting certain things that you said about me. Judgement that you had for me.#I was under severe stress from my job at the time; while at the same time dealing with unresolved emotional trauma and very low self worth.#I was burnt out. Crushed... Completely.#I didn't want attention. I did not want you to cure my depression. I though I was just letting you know me. I wasn't aware I was oversharin#I tried... SO HARD to get over the things that triggered me and hurt me but I just couldn't...#I wanted to. I did everything in my might; I took it to therapy; I looked everywhere within me; to either get over it#or completely forget about you and stop caring at all; so things were ok and normal again; but it didn't go away...#I just feel so... unsafe... at the idea of talking again#I know I wasn't the best listener and I profoundly regret that.#I was not only thinking about myself like you said and I was aware of the effort that other's put; but I was afraid/resistant to PRECISELY#that cause of past events with other people. Because in some I was the one putting that effort and ended badly for me. Looking back#that was inappropiate of you because you felt too comfortable generalizing my past relationships and why in your head they failed.#“I cant help but feel you are looking down on people who” Stay away from me if you ever make a stretch like this again.#By “experiment” I meant that you don't know how a relatioship with somebody is gonna turn out until you go and try. That's all I meant.#I didn't want things to turn out this way. I'm sorry they did.#The effort I put for you may have been shit to you. But to me it was a lot. And I'm done taking judgement.#Altho I love my friends I still keep distance. I still can't completely help that. I can go months not talking to my BF.#You were my BF during my teenage years. I remembered you fondly. I still do.#I don't feel ready to talk again having to keep to myself interest that I might have. Related to trauma. I do not feel comfortable with tha#No I do not look at your blogs.#The day I said I was abused I had a panic attack right after that. That's mainly why I had to cut contact: I didn't want another one.#I didn't tell you because I didn't trust you to not say “talk to the void” again. I didn't trust you to want to hear about it. I didnt feel#safe with you anymore. Event tho we ressumed contact I felt that way the entire time.#I wanted to answer all the questions you had; I really did; until I couldn't stand it anymore.#And the day I removed you from discord... I know you probably had an awful day that day... I'm so; so sorry...#I'd like to one day be completely unbothered by assumptions and stuff cuz I know it's not your fault... You went through stuff too...#vent#stuff

take "radical" out of your bio you vbnmw lib
you know, i'm actually going to answer this seriously because it will be so much fun and other people may find it amusing as well.
what have you done to walk the talk besides bother people online? Or are you happy cowering anonymously in your little glass house? you show me yours, I'll show you mine. i have been working direct action since the mid 1980s, so believe me, I can not only slap physical evidence right on the table, but give you a list of people who can vouch for me a yard long as well. but i won't do that because...
the first rule of radical action is Don't Fucking Talk About What You're Doing Online You Dumbass. with a healthy side of DON'T FUCKING SQUEAL ON YOUR FRIENDS YOU DUMBASS
second, you don't have the first understanding of realpolitik. wait, can you even define realpolitik? Here's a clue: "by any means necessary" Includes The Boring Stuff You Dumbass
third, do you give one blue blind bloody fuck about your friends and loved ones? Your LGBTQ friends? Your Muslim and Jewish friends? Your immigrant friends? Your female (and female-plumbing) friends? DO YOU CARE ABOUT ANYONE BESIDES CISHET WHITE MALE CHRISTIANS? Of course you do! You'd do anything to protect your loved ones. Absolutely anything! THEN VOTE YOU DUMBASS.
Have you been paying real attention to what is actually going on in the world, or are you happy living in your fantasy land where you can snap your fingers, a wild Bloodless Revolution That Doesn't Hurt Any Good Guys appears, and everyone will live happily forever after and nothing bad will ever happen again?
Have you read the Project 2025 proposal? Do you know what it is? Have you been actually listening to what Trump and the Repubs have planned for DAY ONE of a Trump administration? Have you learned nothing from the elections of 2016 and 2020? This Is Not A Fucking Drill You Dumbass. In fact, it's NEVER a drill. Get your head out of the clouds, put your boots on the ground, and get to work, because The Work Never Ends You Dumbass.
Fact: the United States is a two-party system. Full stop. No fantasies, wishes, hopes or dreams. No whining and faffing around with "but..." and "if..." and "none of the above". You get two choices: Trump or Not!Trump, with a tiny bit of bait being dangled on the side by the Leopards Ate My Face Party, which exists only to siphon votes from Not!Trump. Them's the facts. There's no getting around it. There is nothing you can do to stop it by this coming November. If you don't want to have another Trump administration, hold your precious little nose and vote for Not!Trump No Matter Who, because that is the ONLY way to keep him from being elected in 2024.
---> Honestly, all bullshit aside, if you really want to make a difference, start with your local government. For example, do your government buildings have gender-neutral bathrooms? If not, start a petition for the change. Research the proper procedure, get a whole bunch of your friends to go door-to-door or stand on the street corner gathering signatures, and make sure everyone shows up at your local government's next public meeting so when you get up and present the petition, you have a groundswell of support behind you. It's a simple way to get involved in the political process and make a positive change to your community that everyone can actually see and appreciate. It's a good way to discover if you like community organizing, and if you're good at it you can slowly go bigger. If you're whining that it takes too long or is too much work or you don't like talking to people or you're shy, tough nuts. This is how the real political process works, so suck it up.
In conclusion, based on 40ish years of theoretical study, practical experience and close following of history and current events, I can confidently, sincerely and utterly urgently say:
If you do not vote for Joe Biden in 2024, the American government will topple, the world will be plunged into war, and your loved ones will die. No shit, no lie, no exaggeration. So VOTE YOU DUMBASS.
Now, just in case you think you have a leg to stand on by getting huffy at me for calling you a "dumbass", consider the following. There are only three reasons I can think of for someone doing something as patently ridiculous as walking into MY HOUSE to challenge me ANONYMOUSLY about the principles on which I have based my ENTIRE ADULT LIFE. They are: one, you're an absolute idiot; two, you're being willfully obtuse; or three, you're deliberately trying to fuck with the upcoming election, and I don't care why. If I were you, I'd take "dumbass" and Sit. Down.
Oh, and I forgot the most important thing: My Blog. Fuck You, You Dumbass.

It's interesting for me to think of what Seska's background could have been. It's interesting that this cunning spy should be so drawn to Chakotay. A twisted person kind of desperately clawing after something. Of course the desire doesn't express itself in any way approaching healthy.
And it's interesting that she winds up in a society where she has to play submissive, although no doubt she would have ended up murdering Cullah and ruling the Kazon through her son.

💦 Hydration Tips 💦
— use pink salt (Himalayan is best) to help balance your natural sodium. Research how much you should use based on your own individual needs and body weight.
— lemon! Wash and slice it up for that aesthetic look, or just squeeze and enjoy. Great vitamin C and immunity boost.
— drinking warm water helps with digestion and bowel movements. In my opinion, for some weird reason it also makes it easier to drink. — fresh mint leaves! Delicious with ice.
— remember: caffeine actually helps dehydrate your body, which means it doesn’t count as your water intake for the day.
— funky straws make everything better. And reusable ones stick around for practically forever:)
— there are so many other fun options…berries! Teas! Sun tea! Or…moonwater!! ❤️staying hydrated is so important for your mental health. It’s hard to keep track, but you deserve to feel good! I believe in you ❤️

On a lukewarm take.
I'll tell you right now, most adult mainstream media is not more "subtle" in is subtext than children's mainstream media.
Why is that? Children's entertainment can't get away with a lot of literal imagery.
Like queer rep, ND rep, and or most political issues.
So it requires the use of symbolism and subtext to get through it to it's audience with enough deniability to not upset the status quo.
Symbolism I've found to be much more powerful in a lot of all ages media than in adult and YA entertainment.
That is to say, all media should be consumed with our own biases in mind.
Instead of saying, X was bad and irredimible, people should be asking themselves, "why does this character make me FEEL this way about them, how much of that is intentional and how much of it is my own interpretation, why Y character forgave them so easily, what reasons do they have".
I consume all sorts of media, and most adult media I enjoy is adult media produced by artists mostly known for children's entertainment, they more often understand nuance and earnestness that a lot of newer adult guested media does not.
Do you think kid shows are black and white? Boy, I have bad news about cop thrillers.
I jest tho it's easier to extrapolate character from simplicity and earnestness than from media that is constantly embarrassed of being "too weird and unserious".
Some people consume only adult media, (not cartoon adult media like, just in general mainstream media) and have the media literacy of a fish.
I do think is important to watch everything you find mildly interesting, wether or not it's withing your preferred générés, demographics, and styles.
But I find it iffy to imply that all ages media is mostly not nuanced, because "they have to appeal to children black and white mentality" when that's just a big misconception.
Any weird vibes check my tags
