In the Nintendo Switch version of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, if the players receive a Game Over during two-player mode, the Game Over screen will show Mario and Toad sitting on the ground in despair.

However, if one of the players then quits and the mode is changed back to single-player during the Game Over screen, then upon continuing only Mario will cheer up and run off, leaving Toad alone as the screen fades out.

I watched a YouTuber play this cuz I wasn’t paying 60 for that, but I really liked the cutscenes and the mini Marios to make a little something. I know that dk, Luigi, peach, and Pauline get their own toys in a later game but I like to make up in-game realities so what can I say

Also, WHEN IS NINTENDO GONNA RELEASE A LUIGI TOY FIGURE/PLUSH!? OR OF ANY OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS!?

I don’t know what I’m calling this yet, but it is something along the lines of Luigi falling into the warp pipe alone as a kid and taken in by shy guys (something something character foil to Peach). Along with playing around with Mr. L because I just think he’s neat.  Might draw more of this, not sure yet.

Imagine with me, Mario, toad, donkey Kong, and Luigi are all in some sort of mission

For some reason,DK and Luigi are the ones who are paired up together

Mario at first complains and doesn’t agree with it but kings orders are orders so Mario Just kind of just hast to deal with it.

Mario tells DK to watch his baby bro with his life and that if anything happens to him he will wax all the hair off of his body. (DK does wince at the idea of that but doesn’t show it)

DK is just like” yeah yeah don’t get your mustache in a twist you tomato I won’t let anything happen to your brother”

DK never really noticed how accident prone Luigi is until he had to spend some quality  time with him and now that he does he doesn’t understand how the little green man is still alive

(Luigi stuck up in tree)

DK: LUIGI?!?! WTF HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE

Luigi:…. I saw a spider

(Luigi trapped in a net)

DK:….how just how

Luigi: this is not my fault How was I supposed to know that I a neat pile of fruit was a trap!!!!

(Luigi getting chased by somthing)

Luigi: DKAAAAAAAAAAY

DL: oh for the love of LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!!

Luigis ends up forced to be piggybacked around because donkey Kong doesn’t trust him more than a few feet away

When they finally regroup after their mission is complete , Mario asks where Luigi is only to see him peek over donkey Kong’s head

Donkey Kong ends up having a conversation with Mario and as I mean conversation I mean more of like another chance of teasing in where DK asks, “how Has someone like you kept Luigi alive for so long”

Mario gives a deadpan face saying “give me back my brother already”

Mario asked Luigi how it was and Luigi says that it was fine and It was a piece of cake finding what they were looking for or doing what they were set out to do only for donkey Kong to immediately interrupt that to talk about all the trouble Luigi’s gotten into.

Mario is not surprise in the slightest because he knows his brother and if anything Mario’s a little happy that DK had such a crazy time with luigi.

Maybe now they’ll realize that it’s a bad idea to separate Luigi and Mario
