actually would have loved to see more of elita's introspection after the "sentinel took everyone's cogs" reveal in tfone. like we got some good elita moments (e.g. her speech to orion showing that she too is an optimist despite having built a "tough it out" personality in order to survive the mines; the fact that she immediately turned to helping pax/dee/jazz during the cave-in after evacuation orders didn't work, showing that she's also one to instinctively break protocol if it means saving other bots from harm), but it would have been great to see elita's reasoning and emotions at learning about sentinel's betrayal. like yeah, ig d-16's crashout made sense given that he was physically attacked by darkwing and arguably had a stronger emotional attachment to the status quo/the "heroism" of sentinel prime, but elita is also the one who was insulted/belittled by darkwing for not having a cog and for breaking protocol, and the one who got dumped to waste management despite being so close to her goal (and she probably would have stayed there if she hadn't been on the train with orion and the crew). cave-ins don't seem unusual in the mines (everyone seems familiar with the emergency protocol), and elita as the team lead is probably the one who had to bear the responsibility of reporting dead or missing miners. after finding out that sentinel is the one who created this situation, elita should be seething just like dee: how dare the likes of sentinel prevent her from reaching her full potential as both a leader and citizen? how dare sentinel place the burden of carrying the very lives of other bots in the hands of those who have been rigged to fail? how dare sentinel set her up to chase after false hopes to improve her life and believe that it was ever a "good thing" for her to have wanted to try and "rat out" orion and dee when they first got on the train? who is to say that mechs with existing cogs, like darkwing, won't keep bullying those with newly-given cogs after sentinel is exposed? and elita didn't seem to have anything against dee before they went to the surface--if anything, dee seems to be the more reliable one compared to orion, so it would make sense if elita initially sympathised more with dee's reaction to events.

but she ultimately doesn't side with dee, even though she has a lot more invested in the system than orion. and i think tfone should have shown us more of elita's specific thoughts and reasons for why this didn't happen, to establish her as a major player in the ensuing conflict. the only other series that im familiar with outside of tfone that has elita is g1, so in my mind she's one of the "big three" in that she's established as a leader capable enough of keeping together the only major autobot resistance group against the decepticons after op leaves cybertron. if tfone's story was extended to the civil war, then the foundation for elita's later development should also be well-established.

right now it feels like she was largely relegated in the movie to "punch and get promotion" and while that's cool, i think she should have had more screentime than bee (im sorry but imo elita and bee have become kinda conjoined both in their function within the movie and in fanworks---i get the writers were pressed for time and chose to focus on the orion-dee relationship, which makes complete sense, but elita and bee were just kind of left to stand next to each other and give audience reactions when something happened shocking in the orion-dee dynamic. and elita has become b-127's mom in fan stuff ig. which again is fine and great and i love it, but what about her preexisting relationships with orion and dee? like orion was confident enough to trust elita to have his back when the cave-in happened even though elita tried to keep a hierarchy of sorts between them, dee seems to respect elita's leadership when they're on the surface and doesn't immediately shoot at her when she fights him at the end, elita even seems envious (at least to me) at orion and dee's entry into the iacon 5000---we should have had more of the push and pull among the trio's dynamic, with elita being a sort of "wild card," in that she had valid emotional grievances that would push her to side with dee, but an equally strong set of beliefs that would lead her to side with orion).

So WE ALL know that Logan can be flirty, and that he may have had a period where he was a bit of a manwhore (*cough* 70s Logan *cough*)

I feel like that period though, and any other flings, one night stands, etc whatever was less out of lust and more of a desperation to feel SOME kind of human connection bc the mans so lonely and has been treated like a soldier, a weapon for so long that hes desperate for human connection, even if it makes him end up feeling depraved afterwards. Post-nut clarity wakes him up next to some girl he met at a bar, and guilt sinks its teeth into him because he doesnt even know her name, much less actually LIKE her. The man was born in the 1800s, he may have grown with time but you cannot tell me theres not some inkling of being a gentleman- and wanting to find someone you truly love, hidden in there somewhere. I think overtime he may fall into this routine, believing he needed to be a walking sex magnet, gruff, cocky, whatever have you because hes convinced its the only way he can have a connection with someone, even if its for a few passionate moments under bedsheets, and an awkward "that was nice. Bye"

It only fuels his self hatred, convincing him that he really his just an animal, looking to get his sick desires out, eat, fuck, sleep, survive.

When we see him in the X movies, as a cage fighter he is brutal and rough and he doesnt seem to have a caring bone in his body yet he still manages to find himself caring about this young girl who stowawayed in his trailer, and does help her, even if he acts like this version of logan he created. Someone who doesnt care. But he cares. A lot.

Its not until he meets YOU, that he starts to wonder if he got it all wrong. Kind, beautiful, smart YOU.

I fully believe that logan just wants a partner. One night stands, flings, what have you, were just him lying to himself, desperate to feel something other than hate. After he lost his memories, and he began just wandering, the concept of love was lost on him. And lust wasnt there anymore either. He was approached by women, perfectly fine, pretty women, all the time during his time cage fighting, bars, etc. He turned them all away- completely opposite of logan 30-40 years ago (my timing probs not right on xmen lol) who was convinced the only way he was living was if he had ass next to him every night he went to sleep because he was lonely. This version of logan, lost, angry, wanted nothing to do with people. Some of it the repressed feelings coming out from his past that he doesnt even remember. He was convinced then that he had to be alone. Becoming a lone wolf that bared his teeth at anyone who tried to pet it. Secretly though, deep down although he wouldnt admit it, there was that deep desire, that he always felt in his 200 years, that he just wanted to find his mate. He'd call soulmates bullshit if you asked him, but the moment he meets you, hed know that it was real, and that maybe god cursed (gifted) him the ability of healing and practical immortality just so he could find you. And hed do it over and over again, the pain and suffering and loneliness, if it meant you would be the endgoal.

Logan is a pack animal. He needed a family, to protect, and cherish. When he meets and ends up at the x-men, his demeanor and attitude changes quickly to something similar to a dog that snaps at you when you pet it only for it to whine and whimper "im sorry, please dont hate me, i just dont know how to accept love.". Hes still wary, because hed never KNOWN a family before. Put aside his memory loss, the closest things he had to a family was a creep of a brother, and a woman who said she loved him under false pretenses (i still dont like you kayla even if you say it was real). He barely knew his parents, and even then that was a lie because his father wasnt even his biological father. Yeah, Logans life was pretty damn lonely, so its no wonder the man is cautious of anybody and anything.

The moment you come into his life though, that bitterness, anger, and meaningless flirting goes right out the window. Hes serious about you. Hes usually cautious, nervous around people but he meets you and its almost like he threw all those imaginary rules he has for himself out of the window.

Look at how he was with Jean in the movies. He barely knew the woman, they barely shared ANY lines in the movie yet he was almost completely devoted (dont get me started on that storyline). Trust didnt come easy to the wolverine. And Kayla- their relationship just shows how much he wants love and to be loved. I never seen origins but a lot of gifsets and read the synopsis of the plot, but i think he had a feeling with Kayla he couldnt trust (remember how he says hell never go against his gut again?) But he so badly just wanted that connection he ignored all the warning signs and did everything to build a life with this woman who not only tricked him, but put him through unimaginable pain both physically and mentally. (Look I REALLY dont like kayla but i do feel bad for her because stryker did have her sister captive). I know stryker is the evil mastermind here, but god imagine trying to find love with someone, only for it all to be a farce, even if they claimed they did love you the entire time- the intentions from the very beginning was far from love.

Oh but when he is in love with you. From the moment he met you, it wasnt love at first sight exactly, more like a feeling that you were it. Hes all about you. He sticks around, under the pretense that he just needed to make some money first, doing some missions for charles, keep an eye on rogue. He cant admit its because he wants to stay close to you. Hes like a feral cat taking shelter in your shed. Stays away at first, cautious of your spspspsp, but curious nonetheless. Completely ignores the first bowl of food you put down for it- or so you thought because when you came back it was completely devoured. It takes weeks of food and spspsps before it finally warms up to you, but after that first contact with your hand and its head- good luck ever getting rid of it. Not that youd want to 😊

Logan becomes a shadow to you, once you become something akin to friends. (Its really more than that but no ones addressed it). He teases you and flirts with you, and its something you think he does with everyone, until Ororo tells you that he only does it to you. Sometimes he just sits in your company, other times hes curious about what youre working on, not wanting to start the convo, but does things like leering over your shoulder (which he may or may not be doing just to he close to you and get a good whiff of the smell of your hair). He stresses when you go on missions without him. He slowly opens up about his past to you when he begins to get his memories back. Trusting only you (and maybe charles) with the truth ablut the man he used to be, and still is.

When your feelings finally do come out in the open though, however it happens, that first kiss, the first time you make love, etc etc. Logans a different man. I mean, hes still that cocky, grumpy person we all know and love. But he carried himself differently. Hes confident and wiser, hes comfortable, and hes happy. He found a home, his pack. And maybe after countless conversations about his past, the things hes done, and the comforting words and understandings you give him, he starts to learn that he isnt so bad, because if you love him, YOU, the most wonderful person hes ever known in 200 years, love him despite all of his violence and hatred and slight whoreish tendecies back in the 70s...then he must be alright.

He doesnt need to worry about his past anymore, when hes got you, right there with him, promising a loving future together.

I really am vibing with the actors they chose for the gods so far, however, I do wish the show would put a tad more effort in into making them feel a bit more like primordial, powerful beings here and there, rather than just some random dudes. Like the presence and tone in the book when Percy meets Dionysus and Ares for the first time... there are moments when Percy is overwhelmingly aware of their power.

Sure, I get the show can't necessarily show some of this (especially the Dionysus stuff), but they could definitely attempt to convey this energy in some way or form. Like, have Percy look into Dionysus's eyes and then have his own start to take on this odd, purple hue and the background grows fuzzy and all the sound drowns out except for high pitched ringing and the faint sound of people crying out for help before reality snaps back and Percy's standing there looking unsettled. Have mortals react to Ares presence the way they did in the book. Have Percy look into Ares eyes and have the god's eyes look otherworldly for second, burning with fire, and have Percy suddenly overcome with anger, his voice narrating his inner thoughts of fight him. There's so much the show could have done to convey it, even briefly.

And its just another discrepancy between the show and book that doesn't feel like its a big deal... but I do think matters in helping to establish tone, presence, and tension.

So, I know I've introduced my werebnnuy Wei Wuxian au to yall, at least the art, but I'm craving some fluff rn so. Here yall go:

Lan Sizhui found himself drifting, sleepy, but not enough to actually close his eyes fully. They were drooping, begging to succumb to sleep, but they just wouldn't. His hands idly played with the soft toebeans on one large, monstrous paw of the creature currently cleaning him. The beans were not rough, despite the fact that they were walked on almost every day over long distances. They were not solid either, an almost jelly-like thickness making it possible for him to jiggle the masses of pawpad. It was quite the satisfying thing, really, and judging by the way the creature's chest and throat rumbled happily, it was for him, as well.

A tongue began to work at his messy hair, tangled from an impromptu night hunt just an hour or so prior. His father, Wei Wuxian, had seen him, glanced to his other father, Lan Wangji, nervously, than hurried him off to a nearby field to get clean. He'd shifted into his wererabbit form, scooped Lan Sizhui against his chest with his paws resting carefully in front of him to make a sort of nest, and set to work.

Lan Sizhui enjoyed the warmth of his father being close by, the way he could move the giant paws with little effort, pulling them into his lap and making a sort of security blanket. He wasn't so fond of Wei Wuxian's rough tongue working out the tangles in his hair, but at least he tried his best not to cause pain.

His hair was soon sorted out. Wei Wuxian dropped his head to snuffle at his neck playfully, tickling the skin with his fur. Lan Sizhui giggled at his father's antics. His heart warmed at the fact that he was finally getting this experience with his other father. There was so much time to be made up for, and he knew Wei Wuxian was doing his absolute best to do just that. He spent any time he could with Lan Sizhui, stealing him away to play in the fields or help Lan Wangji feed the bunnies (the regular ones, that was) or race through the mountains in his wererabbit form with Lan Sizhui clinging to his back. Occasionally they'd even sneak out of the Cloud Recesses to explore the town below. Even though Lan Sizhui was sure he'd tasted and seen everything there by now, it was always a new adventure when it was with his father.

As Wei Wuxian settled himself and pulled Lan Sizhui closer to curl up around him for a nap, Lan Sizhui couldn't help but sigh contentedly.

The past had caused him a great deal of grief, but the present had gently wiped his tears and cradled him.

He was at peace.
