introductions were short and brief, a simple hello before you got to work alongside him, or the multiple hims. (very confusing to digest at the very start)

an assistant, supposedly an easy job for just about anyone. but it isnt just anyone youre working for, its a harbinger and his multiple freaky clones, come on !

being dragged off to help fairly younger versions of him with their experiments of dubious ethical values, being careful as to do your best.

one wrong move and youll end up in the cleaners, great job prospect for you !! surprisingly enough though, they accept you in their circle.

compared to the older versions of him, the younger segments are less guarded... and more carefree. you joke around with em, you bring them gifts and they happily accept em.

you talk to em and slowly but surely they start revealin parts of their history. fast movin experiments, considerable murders and lotsa studying within the academiya was what they told you about.

you accepted them for them with a little hesistance, but still do. and to their delight (?), not very clear they come to seek for you. yearn is silent within all dotttore variants, but mutual respect becomes one sided puppy love.

dumb crushes and the ruse they put up, being in love.. they did not realize you were also a scholar, one with a little more sense of social awareness. soon enough you cracked open their supposedly top secret plot.

their eagerness and surprising acceptance leads you to work with some of the older clones. a challenging next step for you.

blunt and close guarded, thats whats you came to know the few late adult clones as.

engaging in conversation which would lead to laughter and giggles with the young adult variants quickly fell on deaf ears.

you became used to ignoring and being ignored, and you came to miss the younger guys, repeatedly seeking them out.

using your lunch break to talk to the younger bunch, some of them really liked you some of then merely respected you and that was normal within their little society.

talking and lunching, before being found out by the superiors. it was your lunch break, you were mortal and you needed to eat but the segments didnt.

heard of all the talk from within the grapevine, a distraction and there could be no distractions for the segments.

they were an extension of him, carefully crafted to do their individual jobs. careful workers, guarded and alone. a part of his conciousness, and he knew he was indeed guarded and he had no need for any romantic nuisances around.

stepping into a room to find upwards of 4 segments all curled around you as you read a story. this was not bound to happen, not bound to when they needed to work.

he shooes them away, brushing them off before demanding you at once worked directly with him. whisking you away to a far away laboratory.

the doctor himself was cold, cold and harsh with everyone around him. yet with careful consideration, you managed to find the man within him.

soft bribes with the best pastries and careful hugs and caresses and he was under your spell, geez did he come to love you.

you promised him you would stay by his side, keep him company and suddenly a good part of his years looked better than before.

a gruff man, he knew himself to be cold and calculated but you threw him haywire somehow. he didnt know what could be.

until he did, he came to realize you loved him and from there on he didnt let go.

one step at a time, and slowly but surely you entered a state of relationship. a state of pure lovesick bliss.

whether it was romantic dinner dates or soft picnics, he loved it.

he came to tell you bits n pieces of his past and you held him all throughout, holding his face and kissing it gently much to his dismay (pleasure actually, but he wouldnt ever admit that).

as long as you were beside him, he was down.

In my head it's been around well over 100 years or so since Dottore was exiled from Sumeru, most likely more. Considering how places change, Sumeru's Akademiya must have changed too.

Jazari is allowed to explore inside the giant Ruin Machine, somewhere I assume Zandik explored as evidence of Sohreh's Note earlier on in the area. I assume that part of the reason Dottore was exiled was his research on Ruin Machines - yet now Jazari is allowed to explore with the "highest level of clearance".

Assuming all word quests happen after the main Archon Quests, then Dottore wouldn't have learned of his research because he would have left Sumeru. But if he had? I think he'd be angry. What he was (potentially) exiled for is now endorsed by the very place that sent him away from his homeland.

Dottore headcannons

Wears light blue crocks in his lab. They’re easy to wash, comfortable and sanitary.

He keeps some of the failed experiments around as pets (dottomonster)

Bad personal hygiene. He works for days in his lab without showering and only eating special nutritious food.

Pantalone secretly films Dottore‘s clones doing all kind of activities, for example almost blowing up the kitchen in a failed attempt to cook.

The clones have „family days“ where they all do something together. The original calls it „team building“, but they really just do it for fun. They‘d go bowling, on picnics, to playgrounds to trip kids..

Hates going to other doctors. He makes all of his remedies and medicines himself, and he also supplies the other harbingers- when payed to do so. He‘d also sell his „special concoctions“, meaning dr3gs, to the harbingers on request.

He leaves the older clones in charge of the younger ones while he is gone, so they‘d have to feed and take care of each other <3

The way Dainsleif hides his face in his hands when he’s flustered or laughing. You always make him so happy, to the point he feels he has to hide his face because of how foolish he think he is. It’s a rather adorable sight though.

The way Dottore will help you study. He mumbles and grumbles, even gets frustrated, but it’s really funny to watch. He doesn’t call you dumb, or insult you (surprisingly.) but he does act like he doesn’t wanna be there at all. It’s funny seeing him all frustrated though, especially when he really isn’t.

The way Dottore will drag you places just cause he doesn’t wanna go alone. He hasn’t really had anyone that actually wants to be around him, and now that he does, well… he enjoys spending time with you (even though he says he doesn’t and often times even tries to push you away). Expect to be dragged to the library, even the museum every time that have a new exhibit that intrigues him, and random places that sparks his interest.

The way Dottore always answers the phone when you call him late at night. He’s typically up until the early hours of the morning, so it’s not like you’re bothering him, even if he says you are. He oddly enough sounds calmer late at night, you aren’t sure why, but just him calmly talking about whatever he’s currently doing will make you feel much more at ease, and has even put you to sleep a few times.

The way Kokomi always looks so ethereal at the simplest of times. When you’re walking back home in the rain, sharing an umbrella that kokomi always brings with her, and the way the cloudy weather makes her look… beautiful, just takes your breath away. You think it’s stupid, It’s stupid, how can cloudy weather make someone look so gorgeous?

The way Kokomi puts on your makeup for you. She doesn’t wear makeup herself, at least not much of it, so you’ve always wondered how she got so good at it?! But it doesn’t matter, it’s a intimate thing for her. Carefully doing your makeup and admiring her work (or rather your pretty face) afterwards makes her oddly enough get butterflies in her stomach.

The way Kokomi takes you to the aquarium every time they get something new. She just likes the atmosphere of it all, the beautiful fish surrounding her. It’s mesmerizing watching them all, you wouldn’t know though, you always stare at her face that’s in absolute bliss, and fully captivated by all the fish.

My headcanons for the Segments here we gooo:

0.1 : the youngest, fresh out of the Akademiya. He feels very close to Sumeru yet so he doesn't like to travel a bunch. Kinda clueless about everything but he's very bright.

Mind : Angsty Teen™ also known as the dude who got the angriest at his deletion. Yes, the wimpy voiced one. He's. Always. Angry... Hormones, I'd say

Zandik : aka My Favorite, he's the one we saw with Diluc from the manga. He's unhinged and way to happy too be alive(?), and he's just Dottore's ADHD at it's peak.

Desk : his names is Sargent, but we call him Desk (for a very specific reason I'd love to elaborate on.). He's always working, very serious and will judge you and your family. He's the one that appeared in a blue shirt in the manga.

Silicium : He's Dottore's transistion from young to "old" (meaning full mask to eye mask) and he's the only one wearing cloth to cover his eyes. He's very analytical and is very much a wonderful assistant during any of Delta's surgeries.

Alpha : considered the best segment at the time he was made, he is the one who spoke with Tighnari. He's very playful and surprisingly funny, and despite what one might think, he does NOT get along with Zandik at ALL.

Omega : the Omega Build we saw in game, you know who it is. He is Extra™ as fuck and likes his ego stroked (very much has a villain complex.). He's practically always absent since he is often on the job in other nations.

Delta : I swear when I made the names I didn't expect all three of them to be adjacent. He was the one at the funeral, and he's the most hands-on in terms of experiments. He's not the only one to do operations, but he's very skilled and experienced, and appreciates Silicium's help.

Prime : that's the original. He's the only one who is fully alive and the only one that ages. He's the most difficult to get a hold of, but he met Bu'er after Scaramouche's fall. He is absolutely ruthless and doesn't care for the younger hims whatsoever. His favorite is always the eldest (poor 0.1).

Scaramouche

• ofc you agree to participate and after a few questions, it just becomes a normal convo about random things

• he's so pleasant to talk to, is very good with his words

• you end up talking to him for hours on end and decide to meet again for another chat the next day

Silly little Dottolone fic ideas

(Dottore/Pantalone) idk I was really sick and am finally getting brain function back pls enjoy

Feel free to write them, please let me know if you do!!! I don't have a lot of time to write full fics atm so this is all you get! Some of them are sad, it is what it is. (This is my therapy)

Little!Pantalone (Fluff or die, de-aged pantalone, platonic!caretaker!Dottore, he might hate it but that's not for me to decide)

Pantalone goes looking for Dottore in his lab for a vial of medicine. He's colorblind and drinks the wrong color medicine. He finds himself his younger self and is going through it TM while trying to hide from his coworker, unwilling to be vulnerable. When Dottore finally finds him, he sees it as an opportunity to give him a piece of the childhood Lone never had. Bonus points if there is a time limit to stabilize his emotions or he won't be able to return to normal. Someone please write this, I need this more than I need oxygen.

And they were parents

Established relationship, they are secretly dating, nobody else knows. Dottore creates a Pantalone segment to (F the canon I just want them to raise a kid), surprises the banker with it. It doesn't go as well as Dottore expected. Pantalone has a whole breakdown about the way Dottore could perceive him knowing his segment is an exact snapshot of him earlier in his life. Dottore thinks he made a mistake and almost eliminates the segment, but they reconcile last minute.

Undercover/Under covers

Mutual pining, but they are idiots, going undercover on a mission in Liyue. Lone shows Dottore around places pretending he had fond memories of them. The mask eventually comes off when someone recognizes him as the boy he once was. Dottore secretly takes care of it. Even better if they share a bed, pretending they are bothered by it, but end up sleeping together (winkwink) instead of sleeping together.

Broken glasses

Regrator drops his glasses and instead of fixing them, Dottore uses it as a chance to give his love interest a forced break from work. He really cares, I promise!!! He even intercepts deliveries to make sure he can dote over Lone, feed him, pretend he doesn't understand how to balance a ledger, so they won't be done for now, help him get dressed and guide him around with an arm around him. (Lone is touch starved so this is a great experience, even if he would never admit it)
