#rambling on what i dont like i hate the red and pink they picked bc they dont look nice together at all #the pink is very cool toned and the red is orangey-warm toned so it clashes like a mf #the headband is like.. too tall and they use the xoxo candy hearts a little too much as a motif #no gradient on the arms same issue i have with lagoona and twyla #the silhouette is so same-y with the puffy tutu dress i wish it was like poofy from the top like the neckline not from the hips #that being said: i adore the hair and the bone wings and leg tattoos and bloomers shape under the skirt and sleeves #to even out the colors i made the bone skin more warm yellow/orange to match with the gold #and i made the pinks more warm and reddish and the reds more cool and pinkish #i wish the bone elemental thing was more of a feature bc the wings are so fucking cool thats why i gave her black sclera on the eyes #i dont know why i made her ears like feathery i just thought it looked cool #whatever i need her irl to customize but i have no money and mattels been even shitter than usual last few months so 💔#im stealing her design she's mine now 👍#my art 🎨#cupid asteria #ca cupid #c.a. cupid #monster high #mh #monster high redesign #ibispaint x

#payneland #edwin x charles #dead boy detectives #dbda #pre canon angst brought to you by the weirdo who's always drawing post canon fluff #something about oral tradition and old timey slang #i took quite a lot of decisions with this one so buckle up #first of all the female ghost keeps edwin's eyes color because there's still some truth to the legend #the background is the same shade of green to reference hell #just like it is when he's having his flashback #alive charles is dressed all in black because he's not a happy boy #i also made it so that he grips his clothes when his mate punches him even as it's intended to be friendly #because well #these people will end up killing him so it's less friendly when you remember THAT #charles obviously doesn't mean anything by the mary ann comment #he doesn't know the slang meaning and just blurted out what he remembered from the legend #he will find out reach some conclussions and go punch a wall about it probably #about edwin tho his escape is still very recent and he didn't expect this #but even so early on he knows charles means no harm and allows himself to be comforted #it wasn't intentional but hey edwin shruggin off charles' touch is a good parallel to that one scene after charles “kills” the night nurse

The amount of research and dedication is really amazing!! about ludovica's gf, do you mind if I come in with my vision as well? I think she'd be a really fluffy dog, maybe with curly hair. so my mind went to the portuguese water dog; but then i thought of two versions: long hair and short hair. so i drew both (tried my best to make her look like a lady and not a grandpa haha)

#I'm so sorry this ask is almost a year old at this point and I'm only now responding to it auh #but I keep thinking about this version of the mystery girlfriend habitually I think this is the first headcanon design anyone came up with #I absolutely adore that she's a fluffy curly dog it's such a bold and distinct choice #I don't have any ocs with this specific fur type so it would be a new and interesting challenge trying to get used to drawing her #and I totally get the struggle about the unintentional grandpa look heh it's the same thing with wirehaired dogs #the portuguese water dog is a fitting breed to pick considering the setting imo #I previously tried to make a lagotto romagnolo version of her but the curly face fur was really muddling her expressions #the white eyebrows are a clever move they're pretty and make her face so much more readable than a solid black would #the white streaks on her ears are a wonderful detail too they kind of remind me of frankenstein's bride haha #and I appreciate the fact you drew her in a period accurate dress! the rosy pink goes really nicely with her stark black and white fur #the sketches are so sweet their chemistry comes through so clearly #thank you so much for putting this much thought and effort into her! again I'm sorry I kept you waiting #I truly hope you didn't think I disliked your concept although I wouldn't blame you at all if that's the impression you got #I think I have another ask of yours somewhere in my inbox I'll try to find it #gift art #pouletpourrisoldblog #Ludovica #own characters #I'll come back to give the gf her own tag once I've decided on the name
