Reverse engineering Java classes is very easy and Obfuscation also can not stop anyone from reverse engineering your proprietary class. but it makes it far too difficult to reverse engineer and utilize the same code. I was writing a key generation algorithm and thought it should not be reverse engineered easily. I tried obfuscation by Proguard : http://proguard.sourceforge.net/ and it did a good job in obfuscating my code. I tried decompiling using Eclipse Jadclipse plugin: http://sourceforge.net/projects/jadclipse/ which is a really good decompiler and did most of the Java code generation pretty well. The generated Java files have few classes which are as is, and a few are obfuscated. so when I try understanding the logic inside the code it gets little difficult to understand. But I didnt want to stop here, I need to create more confusion in the regenerated code. So here are few techniques I wanted to share which can make your code reverse engineering a nightmare for anyone. I am sure these techniques are not best way of implementing your code, and there could be other issues in implementing them, but in case your only goal is to keep your code safer and not easily being copied then this may sound useful. Code inside finally block If you see a decompiled Java file most difficult areas are the once where we have Exception handling, this code is usually replaced with the lines like JVM INSTR dup ; L1: So thought of utilizing this piece. Here is what I tried. I created a try/catch block in my code and called a dummy method which does nothing. And then I surround this by lots of RuntimeException catch and finally blocks. Then move the actual code inside the finally block. Now when I obfuscate and then de-compile the classes. Now decompiler is generating a lot of code for a small method which had only one block of code in finally block. Here is the example what I did private String myCoreMethod1(String s) try doSomeStuff(); catch (SecurityException e) System.err .println(e); catch (NumberFormatException e) System.err .println(e); catch (RuntimeException e) System.err .println(e); finally //My Secret Code here } return s; } private void doSomeStuff() //Doing nothing This technique should make your de-compiled code really difficult to understand, I have tried Jadclipse plugin to decompile, but I am sure this is goiong to be pretty much confusing for other decompilers as well. Code inside Inner Classes Another way of coding I observed is Inner classes. If your code is written inside a inner class it makes it far more complex to understand when its decompiled. Create a LocalImplementation inner class in your code which has your core methods implemented. This way reaching to core method level becomes difficult while doing code walk thru. In fact if you can write the same implementation in a annonymous inner class then it can make it more difficult. Use of Reflection Java Reflection is a powerfull way of dynamically loading and invoking classes/methods. Using Reflection code to call your key methods may make it difficult for people to understand as it does not tell which method is being called. This is how I did it, Keep a list of core classes which has core methods. Also have a list of core method names which need to be called, now interate through the list of classes and call each method one by one. If the class does not have a method then go for next class this way you can make it more un-obvious to undestand the sequence of calls. Well I know this is not the best way but there could be many ways of creating such confusions. I know its not the best use of reflection, but to hide my core algorithm I would probably do it. DAY 2 PROGRESS (aka: autism win! local creature spends several hours making a cardboard replica of their torso. and also more bones)
Clavicle time!! doing the same method as beforr, aka wire armature under paper clay. I sculpted them flat, and then shaped them on to my body to get their proper 3D curve



this led me to be like, huh, having a dress form/dummy would be really helpful, too bad I don't have one and they are SO expensive. anyway, look at all these moving boxes from like 2 years ago that i never threw away.

onto scapula time! I printed one out because my drawings were NOT working out. the average scapula is about 9.5 cm across acording to a study I found, I made them a bit bigger at around 10-11cm across. for the vibes.
The wire armature looks very fun IMO. Also, I forgot to take a pic of this part but I basically lined up vertebra 2-7 in order to get the spacing of the hooks correct. The vertebrae are gonna attach to ribs that will attach to the scapula.
Fun anatomy fact! generally, the spine of the scapula aligns with the T3 vertebrae

TA DA! here they are, and as symmetrical as they are going to get. in my opinion it fucks and i'm extremely pleased. i also DEFINITELY did not expect any of this to turn out looking this good but turns out Studying The Bone has its perks.

I'm glad I made the torso (theriverbeyond 2, if you will) because I want the scapulae to dry on a curve and i do not know how I would do that symmetrically without it. Paper clay takes about (?) 3 days to fully dry and so I definitely want to wait before I start connecting things
Next steps: ribs! rib 1 is going to be sort of like a collar (load bearing ribs, basically--i habe a plan) and the rest are just there to hang out. YAYYYYYYYY
just made some BONES :3 (aka I'm finally starting a Harrow cosplay and obviously the rigcage is first. day 1 progress pics and process under the cut)
I have a PLAN for the ribcage, and we shall see if it can come to fruition. if all else fails, I will still have some sick wall art 👍
Pt. 1 is making the sternum, I'm embedding a wire armature for support and also to integrate secure rings-i-can-attach-other-bones-to directly into the bone, to hopefully minimize future cosplay emergencies and malfunctions. I AM making the sternum 3 different articulating bones, because they are important #TO ME


I'm using paper clay (which i have never used before) because I have a very contentious relationship with foam clay and I dislike baking things in my oven (its a very bad oven. and very small). Trying lots of new things so let's see what happens!

Pt 2 is the vertebrae. I want to make a spine that goes down the back over MY spine, so I'm making basically the entire thoracic section, posterior part only as it is like, on my body. Cutting it at the pedicles if you catch my drift. Using wire again for both structural and rings-to-attach-other-bones reasons.
Fun fact, a good way to remember if you are looking at thoracic vertebrae is "does it look like a giraffe?". (lumbar vertebrae look like moose. meese?)


I'm basically making the connection between vertebrae happen at the junction of the articular facets, aka not sculpting those and keeping that part as wire only. I also has a really fun time making vertebrae that *progressed* from T1 to T12, aka from "looks kimda like cervical" to "looks kinda like lumbar". Definitely not perfect but good enough IMO. Yippee!

definitely should have like, considered rib attachment and such when I was making the armature for the vertebrae BUT i forgot. so we ball. I think I will attach them to the main articulating chain and just like... attempt to space it out with jump rings. we shall see if it works.
Next steps are scapulae, clavicles, and ribs. Still sorta unsure how ribs 1-4 ish are going to work due to my arms being in the way but I will figure that out when I get there 👍

Linear Regression 2.0 (Dummy Variables)
This is another Linear Regression post (using statsmodels) - but this time I wanted to talk about 'dummy variables'.
The overarching idea:
In the previous blog post at some point I mention about having multiple variables in our linear regression model that may (or may not) give us more explanatory power.
In this example we'll look at using a dummy variable (attendance) along with SAT score to give us a more precise GPA output.

When you run the code, this is the graph you will get!
What am I looking at?
This graph is showing us students' SAT scores against their GPA. It is also showing us regression lines of attendance. In green, we have those students who attended more than 75% and in red, those students who had less than 75% attendance. We can clearly see that the students who had an attendance rate of over 75% are expected to achieve a higher GPA.
How was it done?
Obviously you could find that out by looking at the code - but I want to break it down into steps (for my own benefit in the future if nothing else!)
The first noticeable thing that is different from the previous blog post is we have loaded in the dataset into a variable called 'raw_data' (as opposed to 'data). This is because we have some extra work to do before we get started! *Just an aside here that in the 'Attendance' column we have 'Yes' or 'No' entries depending on whether or not the student has attendance rate of more than 75%.
The next two lines of code:

data['Attendance'] = data['Attendance'].map({'Yes': 1, 'No': 0})
The first line will make a copy of our 'raw data' variable and call it 'data'. The next line maps all 'Yes' entries in the 'Attendance' column to 1 and all 'No' entries to 0. As below

(we only see 5 entries here because both instances [i.e first section is the original and the second one is after the mapping] were printed with the 'data.head()' method).
3. The next thing we need to do is declare our dependent (y) and indedpendent (x1) variables, which are:
y = data ['GPA'] x1 = data [['SAT', 'Attendance']]
4. Once we have this it is the same as before, use statsmodels to create a constant and print some useful statistics!

A couple of things to note here, the adjusted R-squared value (0.555) is a great improvement from the linear regression we peformed without attendance (0.399) [a note here to say that R-Squared and Adjusted R-Squared will get their own post one day!].
5. So, we can start constructing the equations now. So, our original one was: GPA = 0.275 + 0.0017*SAT
The model including the dummy variable is: GPA = 0.6429 + 0.0014*SAT + 0.2226*Dummy So now, we can split out this dummy variable into two equations (one that has a dummy value of '1' for the attendance greater than 75% and one that has a dummy value of '0' for the attendance less than 75%).
Attended (dummy = 1)
GPA = 0.8665 + 0.0014 * SAT
Did not attend (dummy = 0)
GPA = 0.6439 + 0.0014 * SAT
6. The next line of code is plotting the points in a scatter chart
7. After the points have been plotted we then define our regression lines (as mentioned above):

8. Something that I wasn't sure about was one of the arguments in the plt.scatter function. This was the 'cmap='RdYlGn'' parameter. Obviously it is some sort of mapping (Red, Yellow, Green?) but the interesting thing about it was that originally it was 'cmap='RdYlGn_r'' - but I think this reversed the colours or something. Anyway, after I removed the '_r' I was able to display the <75% attendance data points in red which I thought was more intuitive.
9. For reference, perhaps it is a good idea to include our original regression line, this is:
yhat = 0.0017*data['SAT'] + 0.275 10. In the last few lines of code we are plotting the regression lines and giving them titles!

So there you have it, that is our linear regression with a dummy variable. I thought that was really interesting. Quite a clever trick to convert categorical data into something numeric like that (but i suppose a binary outcome like 'yes' or 'no' is kind of easy enough I suppose - next time it'd be interesting to see how its done with something like eye colour [blue, green, brown, hazel etc].

I'm about to ask a question that will likely drive the tech nerds nuts, because something tells me that it's either not possible or not feasible, but here goes:
Static websites. Web crawlers. CAPTCHA. Password protection. JavaScript. Client-side decryption.
I want to stop the spiders that gather data for generative AI models from accessing certain pages and files on my static HTML website. This website is hosted on Neocities and is therefore static-only by nature.
If I code my own CAPTCHA in JavaScript, could a scraper still see the data on the page?
Is there a way to prevent the data from loading at all until the CAPTCHA is answered, and is it possible to keep the linked file from being crawled if the script is not in the body of the webpage file?
If, for example, I load an image from a JSON-stored link using a method other than the classic img src="filename link", will an HTML parser or other crawler still be able to see and visit that link once the page has finished loading?
Could I put the kibosh on an image-specific scraper by putting the alt text on a companion dummy image? Or do they scrape alt-less images anyway?
Things that are non-negotiable:
I will not use third-party corporate CAPTCHAs because I do not want to contribute to their training data.
I want my images to be displayed at a decent resolution. Not massive, but possibly up to 1000px on one side.
Is it even worth it? We might get us a proper legal precedent that automatically boots machine-generated images into the public domain, and at that point the whole thing is moot.

TODOROKI SHOUTO
-It probably takes him a little while to get comfortable with the idea of sex. Like, it took so long for him to open up about his feelings, and then get him on a date, and then get him just to hold your hand.
-The desire is there, but I think it could be something that causes him anxiety. He wasn’t really raised in a loving, happy family, so the only thing he thinks about when the topic of sex comes up is reproduction, the creation of babies, of potential heirs and errors.
-It’ll take him a hot minute to start associating sex with emotion and intimacy, and positive feelings like love.
-So he’d probably be pretty vanilla at first.
-But that being said, he’s also a little heathen. Todoroki’s mouth? Relatively ill mannered. He holds back sometimes but even then, he doesn’t hesitate to talk back or make known his displeasure.
-One of his friends probably makes an offhanded comment about ‘mixing things up’ in the bedroom with their partner, and it gets him thinking. He liked your sex life the way it was, and it had been working for years, but now he’s worrying that he’s gonna bore you.
-So he does a little late night research on the internet and...finds some interesting things.
-Ofc he’s also a dipshit, so does he talk to you about it first? Get your opinion on it? No. He keeps his assumptions and tells himself that this will be a good thing.
-But then he sprouts something filthy when y’all are going at it....and you don’t have the reaction he was expecting. He was expecting you to talk back with something as equally dirty, maybe get more excited, but instead you’re....crying.
-He stops immediately and asks if he hurt you. Did he not prep you enough? Do you guys need more lube? (”There’s no shame in needing lube, darling”)
-So when you tell him that what he said just then seriously hurt your feelings, he feels like an ass. You’re his person and he made you sad.
-The do probably stops there for the time being, and he comes clean about his worries of disappointing you and being boring in bed. Assure him that he’s not boring and that you love being with him, because it’s about the emotional value and intimacy, and the physical pleasure will follow that.
-He holds you close and cuddles you for a little while, and apologizes for saying those things to you, and that he didn’t mean them. He was just trying to be different.
-Ofc you know that now, so it doesn’t sting as much, but...
-He regards you with suspicion when you get a look on your face and crawl on top of him. You tell him to praise you instead, tell you how good you’re doing, and see where that gets him.
-As it turns out, it comes much more naturally to him than talking down to you, and makes him feels loads better. Also closer to you, and like he’s appreciating you more.
-Plus the way it makes you squirmy and whiny and wet is A+++
KIRISHIMA EIJIROU
-He’s pretty energetic in bed, most of the time. Sex is something he looks forward to doing with you, so he likes to put a lot of his focus into it. If left to his own devices, this man with ravish you and turn you into a pile of mush.
-He wants nothing more than to please you and make you feel good, making you feel good riles him tf up, and is almost better than his own pleasure.
-So it’s never boring or repetitive with him! But even after so many years, he does still have some lingering anxiety regarding himself. That he’s not good enough, especially for you, in your relationship, in bed, that kind of thing.
-So the dummy asks his friends about it, asks what kinds of things they do to spice their sex lives up. It’s more personal than the internet, and yeah it’s kind of embarrassing, but he’d rather have some tried and true methods to fall back on as opposed to some random thing a stranger said on the internet.
-He’s a little iffy about some of the things his friends suggest (it just seems like a lot) but a few of them seem...doable. (Bakugou says to just ‘man up and ask you’)
-So that night, after some time getting you in the mood, he pulls out the ace in his sleeve.
-Sike, it’s actually a joker.
-He was already nervous, and now you’re crying, and he definitely knows it was something he said but he’s panicking because he’s hurt your feelings and now he’s about to stress cry-
-He just flops on top of you and wraps you in a hug and hides his face in your shoulder, mumbling that he’s sorry over and over again.
-Once you calm down, you’re gonna have to ask him what the hell that was about??? And he’ll be kind of sheepish in answering, but he’ll eventually come out and say it; he was worried about disappointing you in bed, and he wanted to spice things up.
-A true Himbo. So pretty, so buff, so kind, so dumbass.
-You guys will have to have a talk later about consulting each other about bringing kinks into the bedroom first, but that’s for later. Right now, all that matters is that you let him know he’s not disappointing you, but that you really don’t like being degraded.
-And taking from Bakugou, he does the sane thing for once and flat out asks you what you do like.
-Now it’s your turn to be a little shy, but he eventually learns that you like being praised. And lemme tell you, the mouth on this man? Filthy, filthy compliments. He has no shame whatsoever, and he puts the energy he has during sex into saying nice things to you, sweet things, saucy things.
-He prefers the praise anyways. If you’d liked being degraded, then he could have done it for you, but he actually enjoys praising you. Both in and out of the bedroom.
-Granted his praise during sex is a lot more explicit and would probably make your head pop if he said it anywhere else.
SHINSOU HITOSHI
-A guy who equally likes both. He can be a total sweetheart, or a massive dick, and it all depends what kind of mood you catch him in.
-He’s usually quite a bit softer with you, though. He still gets grumpy sometimes, but he cares about you so he’s far more inclined to treat you fairly and be kind to you.
-He’s already a little rougher during sex, imo. Not to say he isn’t down for nice lazy morning sex, or giggly romantic sex, but he also enjoys a fast pace and the occasional quickie before work.
-So one morning he wakes up a little grumpy, a little sore from a fight the other day, a little more tired than expected...so he rolls over in bed and starts kissing the back of your neck and shoulders.
-It’s a nice way to wake up, to your partner touching you all over and wanting you.
-It’s nice until he opens his dumb mouth.
-He doesn’t see right away that you’re tearing up, a little more focused on the fact that he wants to fuck you, but then you shove him away and look at him like he’s just slapped you, and he knows he fucked up.
-His demeanor changes instantly, and you can see that he’s gone from mildly grouchy to very concerned. But you can’t stop the tears from bubbling over, and the quiet sob from escaping your lips.
-He gently pulls you back down into bed and holds you close to his chest. He strokes your shoulder and back until you calm down a little, and then asks if that was too much, too fast.
-Like, no Hitoshi, you can’t handle someone saying things like that to you. It makes you feel like shit.
-He holds you a little tighter and quietly apologizes. Regardless of how he was feeling when he woke up, he still should have talked to your first about something like that.
-Damn right he should have.
-But he promises he’ll never do it again. Ever.
-Makes it up to you by eating you out and giving you several good orgasms...and then accidentally discovers your praise kink.
-All he did was call you a ‘gorgeous, beautiful person’ who ‘takes his fingers so well’...and he can feel the way you squeeze around him, how much wetter you get.
-He smirks against you and lays the praise on heavy, and before long you’re an absolute mess.
-It might not be something he goes to every time you fuck, but he definitely keeps it in his offhand, and tries to pepper in at least a few compliments each time.
-But when he’s feeling particularly saucy, that’s when he’ll run his mouth and whisper absolutely filthy things in your ear. And it woks out so much better than talking down to you, it makes him feel better to know that you’re also having a hell of a time.

Books that have helped me as an author
I don’t believe anyone should be disillusioned into thinking they can know��something to its fullest. That’s why I never want to stop learning about the craft of storytelling. Whether it be through books, or YouTube tutorials, or even classes on Skillshare, when I have a moment to myself, I love brushing up on the craft and seeing what others have to say about the exciting journey of writing fiction.
Here are 10 books that have helped me on my journey, and I hope they help you, too:
1. My Grammar and I (or should that be ‘me’?) by Caroline Taggart
2. Ten Things About Writing by Joanne Harris (author of Chocolat)
3. Creative Writing Demystified by Sheila Bender
4. Bestseller (How to write fiction that sells) by Jennifer Bacia
5. How to Write a Dynamic Scene Using the Snowflake Method by Randy Ingermanson
6. Emotional Thesaurus by Angela Ackerman & Becca Puglisi
7. Creative Writing Exercises for Dummies by Maggie Hamand
8. Writing Crime Fiction by Rosemary Rowe
9. Dear Writer, You Need to Quit by Becca Syme
10. The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr. and E. B. White
There are loads more and, of course, some of you might not take out of these books what I did. But if they can help in any way, I am truly glad. There’s so much to know about storytelling. If I had a chance to redo the way I started out, then it would surely be reading a whole lot more on the subject of writing great fiction.

My shroomish recently evolved during a battle and I'm a bit lost on how to care for her as a breloom. Are there any key differences to look out for and care that used to apply for her that doesn't now? She still is getting used to her new size and tail I've noticed, and I make sure to not get upset if she knocks things over.
Care should remain the same, if they were healthy enough to evolve without issue, then you’re already giving them what they need. Unhealthy Pokemon just don’t evolve without a lot of force. It’ll have an increase in food, it should roughly double to triple in quantity depending on how much energy your Pokemon has to output. If it’s a battler, triple, if it is a house Pokemon, just double should be fine, they do forage while out on walks when peckish, so they’ll kind of do a little self care if needed.
They will have a new abundance of energy in short bursts. They do get the zoomies, then konk out in a shady cool patch, usually under shrubs or near bodies of water where it’s damp and usually full of rotting foliage and debris. Get them a target of some kind if you can’t battle them, like a practice dummy. They will need to release energy somehow if not via natural methods, or you’ll end up with them destroying things out of frustration. They don’t like to be cooped up much either, you may have to increase their walks.
It will in time get use to its new size and shape, they do go through quite a drastic change, but all Pokemon need time to adjust to evolutionary changes, this is not unusual and you shouldn’t be too worried. Best thing you can do is protect your valuables, box them temporarily while she gets use to the tail, it usually takes a week or two to get the back of it, and even then accidents happen. When she’s more in control perhaps have a ‘calm zone’ with all your most precious things in, to go to when you or your Pokemon are looking for some peace and quiet. They do nap a lot so I find having a humidity zone for them is great for indoors. Just get a water tight tray that’s big enough for your new breloom to sleep comfortably in, line it with 2cm of shingle for drainage, another 2cm of soil, and then just pad moss in and mist it loads. It knits together like a bed and they feel very at home on this. A lot of grass types enjoy a moss tray, so keep it in mind for winter. They won’t like the cold and will need some place cosy indoors for them.
