'I've never been in a dungeon before' and 'Who's Ganon?' have literally made some of the BEST reaction panels in Lu I just-

They are very similar conversations- where a Link is pointing out/asking about something that the others have experienced and they haven't. Which is really cool to compare and contrast but they all just freak out about it

Genuinely some of the best conversations in Lu

The lesson here is that apparently the Links will always be freaked out when one of them has missed out on one of the Zelda Fundamentals™

Dungeon Meshi Greek Mythology Au (except its ideas from a pedantic nerd who's too into minor deities)

Laios:

- Reincarnation of Typhon, but completely unaware of it. Golden boy who's obsessed with the legends of greek monsters doesn't realize he's technically one of them and is also kinda fated to destroy the gods...

Falin:

- Historian who, whilst trying to document multiple monsters in the local area with her brother, accidentally gets a greek dragon killed. Much like Cadmus, she gets partially turned into one. Laios is trying to find her a cure.

Marcille (couldn't decide which one i liked more):

- Claims she's the daughter of Poseidon, but seems oddly in tune with necromancy magic and old magic. Turns out, she really is a daughter of Poseidon! Just, a former incarnation of him. A REALLY REALLY old one. Mycenaean Poseidon. I.e. back when he was an UNDERWORLD god. This also makes Marcille old as hell, tho she never shows it.

OR

- Spark of flame from the fire Prometheus stole. Filled with an insatiable hunger for knowledge that leads her to getting into issues with researching forbidden topics. This also makes Marcille old as HELL, lol.

OR

- Pupil to Asclepius, being pursued by the Furies for some reason and as such is constantly running about greece.

Of course, all versions are instantly obsessed with Falin's case, lol.

Kabru (Oh, I definitely COULDN'T pick a good one for Kabru):

- Son of Nemesis. Takes pride in gathering the secrets and reporting hubristic mortals to his mom, until he learns the secret behind Laios' origins and now has to desperately HIDE that secret from his mom.

OR

- Long-Time descendent of Odysseus, but took all the wrong lessons from his journey. Now wants his own personal tale to give himself a bit of glory. Just as clever and ruthless as his ancestor, but "modern" life has mellowed his personality a bit. Sees Laios' and Falin's plight as a chance for his own odyssey.

OR

- Son of Aphrodite, but specifically her aspect as the spartan war god. Incredibly good looking but also incredibly shrewd in combat. Feels a deep fear of Laios for some reason while Laios feels a deep obsession for Kabru, and these conflicting feelings make them absolutely obsessed with each other.

OR

- Undead soldier from the Trojan war... on the side of the Trojans. As such, not the biggest fan of current greece and the status quo. Sees Laios as a chance to upend everything and get a little bit of payback for the wrongdoings all those years ago, but Laios much rather doesn't want to pursue all this Typhon stuff Kabru keeps talking about and much rather wants to spend time with him :D

As you can see, Kabru is still very much obsessed with Laios.

It’s been like, seven years since I genuinely invested in an anime beyond gingerly following a series through odd clips and general Tumblr osmosis. I really felt like I had long outgrown anime.

Then the apothecary diaries caught my attention, and I was hooked! I binged the first 15 episodes and started excitedly following the rest weekly.

Now I'm starting Dungeon Meshi and I'm having just as much fun!

I stg I’m going to binge Frieren afterward because I know I will love it too!

(I just need to force myself to get past my own apathy for high fantasy)

I’m just really dumbstruck that after YEARS of anime having no appeal to me, all of a sudden these absolute bangers popped out of nowhere practically at the same time and rekindled my joy for anime that I haven't felt since I was a teenager!

Ngl- I did not think you'd like Dungeon Meshi. Its not really your vibe.

Honestly I think its cause I was introduced to it by my brother.

My brother’s gf came over Thursday cause like its easter and he's working this weekend so they don't have time to hang out. Our place is small so I ended up getting asked to join. I did and I kind of went in with low expectations because I very much vibe with a different form of media then my brother does. My expectations were low as my bro likes Aqua Teen Hunger Force and while I knew a lot of people loved Dungeon Meshi, I wasn't sure if I would.

I was very happily surprised by how much I enjoyed the show and I think part of this is that I didn't have an idea of how it would go.

I went in knowing people liked or hated it, knowing my brother liked it. I was very pleased I ended up liking it, because it is such a good show and it is so much fun.

I've looked up why some people don’t like it and the main argument is about how its a comedy. They come in expect something like Vox Machina or an anime Lord of the Rings. It's not that.

Dungeon Meshi’s very basic premise is that they're a group of adventurers who turn to eating the monsters in the dungeon because they are going after the MC’s sister who was eaten. If they can get there within a certain time they can save her.

That is not a serious (not really…) premise. Its a fun one and coming in expecting a more action/adventure type story is setting yourself up for disappointment. Food, introspective thoughts and a sort of found family vibe (so far to me) is what you're going to get.

Not to say there isn't some serious topics and awesome stuff. I'm not that far in but already there is some drama and a lot of cool shit happening.

However you can't go into the story not realizing it’s honestly primarily a comedy.

I do deeply enjoy the show and am having so much fun. But it is a show where entering without expectations helped me enjoy it. It also helps it is a very well written show with a lot of lore I'm picking up through the context and googling sessions I have regarding certain elements.

I had a few things planned out to do (more curse of strahd updates, drawing out an excerpt from a book I picked up), but then I put them all on pause when I realized a year ago today I started logging Quinn's journey.

A whole year of trying to get myself out of a rut and just start drawing again.

It's kind of crazy to think about. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it.

Last year was...hard. I had a lot of ups and downs, but giving myself this little project to work on, something just for me, helped me through it.

To celebrate I wanted to think about what a possible future for Quinn would look like. A happier one, if he manages to get out of Barovia for a time.

He still has Zarovich blood in him, so he likely would take up Strahd's titles to buy time to figure out how to properly break the curse on the land, but he's also very young (especially for a Dhampir). He would be reigning in absentia for a time, to figure things out. He'd be traveling to get more experience and proper advice on how to run a country.

Elios proposed to Terra with 2 dozen red roses under the wisteria tree where he had first told her that he loved her as children. Even though he was too nervous to say anything, she knew what he was trying to convey through the flowers. She always did.
