"Megatron? Are you awake?"

Megatron looked up blearily, mildly confused and more than a little pissed. Both of these things faded to make way for concern when he saw who had disturbed his rest- he could never be angry at you.

"Yes, I'm awake. What is it, sweetspark?"

He untangled himself from the blankets, and as he walked over to where you were standing, Megatron saw tear-tracks running down your face. His spark sank as he came to the only logical conclusion- that your recharge had been haunted by the horrors conjured as you slept. “Nightmares again?”

A nod was all the confirmation Megatron needed to wrap you in a bone-crushing hug. He heard you say something, but it was lost, having fallen on deaf audials. He asked you to say it again, and you murmured, more audibly this time, "Is it okay if I recharge with you tonight?"

His optics widened, surprise etched across his face. But it certainly wasn't a request he would turn down. "Of course, darling." Megatron carefully scooped you up, minding your kibble, and deposited you on his berth, clambering in after you.

Megatron tugged the blankets over you both, pausing his movements as you snuggle close to his chassis. He could swear he felt his cold spark melting at the sight of his sweet conjunx-to-be cuddled up against him. "Better?"

He felt you nod against him, your audial pressed soundly to the metal above his sparkchamber. "That's good. Try to get some rest, sweetspark." Megatron felt you freeze against him, and concern welled up in him. "What's wrong?"

"Did...did you just call me sweetspark?" Megatron blinked. It seemed an odd question, but perhaps you simply hadn't heard him right. "Why do you ask?" His voice is quiet in the dark room, rumbling like thunder.

"...No reason. Just surprised is all..." You sighed quietly. "I'm still a little bit...not-used to the nicknames and stuff." His engine revs, coursing through his frame, and displeasure flickering through him. "I see. Well, perhaps I should use them more often," Megatron grumbled, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehelm. "I see no reason not to. You are certainly worth it, my dear." He smiled as he heard you snort, pressing more kisses against your faceplate. “Not to be dramatic or anything, but I would fly into a cliff for you.”

You gasped. "Megs! Don't you dare!" He laughed. "And why not, darling? If it would save you from harm, I'd do it in a sparkbeat." he murmured gently, and snickering when he heard your affronted noise.

"No. No flying into cliffs! You'd scare me too bad and I'd think you died or something!" You scolded him, flicking his nose. He laughed fully, pressing his derma to yours. "Are you comfortable?"

You rolled your optics. "Yes, I am comfortable," you giggle. “You’re a good pillow.” He snorted at that. "Oh, am I now. Well, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I knew it was a matter of time before you'd demote me." Megatron snickered as he felt you smack him playfully, wrapping his arms around you carefully and nuzzling against your finial.

You sighed, content. "You and me are going to rule the world. Just you wait," he murmured against your audial. He pressed a gentle kiss to your derma, smiling when he felt your engine purr. "But for now, recharge. You are safe here, with me- and nothing will change that."
