20th Anniversary of one of my favourite Childhood Movies

I'm from Germany and grew up with "Die Wilden Kerle", not just because of the movies and the TV show and all, but also because my brother had all the books and claimed that he was the reason my name is Vanessa, (same as the only girl on the team) because he was such a DWK Fan. Tactically the Movie came out on October 2th 2003, but rather a month late that never doing a post. Anyways, downstairs are a few informations about the cast and the production in German, ofc. P.S.: Maybe I'm going to add a few GIFs later on to visualise the movie for those who don't know it and maybe for those who didn't grew up in Germany and who came across this post by chance and are interested in it.

Gaang:

They’re kids from all over the world whose parents/guardians aren’t around for whatever reason who are just trying their best in a war torn world and they have far too much responsibility on their shoulders at such young ages and soo much trauma but they love and take care of each other because no one else can/will. They fight and make up, they commit crimes and acts of heroism (often at the same time), they’re terrifyingly powerful, they all have so many brain cells but forget to use them, they have fantastic character arcs, and they canonically stayed friends for life after the series ended.

Die Wilden Kerle:

Listen. I know nobody knows them. But they're a group of kids who play football together. And (especially after the second movie) their parents are just basically absent. They basically only have each other. By the fifth movie they live together in the woods. I am not able to accurately describe what's going on in these movies. At one point they're playing football on motorbikes. In the 5th movie there's vampires. Shit it wild. I love it. I can't even describe how influential these movies were to me as a child. Please let them get at least 2 or 3 votes. Please.

Katy ist 14 Jahre alt, wird bald 15 und ist die kleine Schwester von Deniz. Katy ist schon lange zeit in ihren besten Freund verliebt aber er hat eine Freundin, sie heißt Charlotte und sie will nicht dass Katy mit ihm befreundet ist. Aber dann fährt ihr auf Klassenfahrt, Diana und Katy müssen mit Raban und Joschka in ein Zimmer schlafen. Raban bemerkt dann dass Katy mehr ist als nur eine Freundin. Aber dann muss Katy auf die PCA für 1 Jahr aber sie will nicht weg gehen weil sie ihre Freunde nicht verlieren will. Am meisten will sie nicht von ihren besten Freund Raban weg gehen in dem sie so lange verliebt ist und sie will auch nicht von ihrer besten Freundin Diana getrennt werden aber sie versprechen sich dass sie immer beste Freundinnen bleiben für immer.

Growing up means realizing that 1, Leon‘s leadership skills sucked big time, 2. everyone just ignored the first fact cuz he was hot, 3. Markus was the actual hot guy, 4. Maxi might have been the better choice for Vanessa and probably would have dropped Blossom in a blink of an eye if V told him to, 5. Fabi has THE queercoded energy , 6. Vanessa literally wasn‘t sure abt anything ever since dwk1, and 7. the gang would have been absolutely fucked without Joschka and Raban.

Do you wonder how a next Gen of wilde kerle’ s children could be? I read somewhere that kids from the sixth movie were “paired” to the proper Kerle but meh i don’t know since i didn’t enjoyed the sixth movie i just pretend that didn’t happen. (Plus the fact BlossomxMaxi was not included pissed me off)

Well Anon, i’d lie if i tell you that nothing had ever crossed my mind lol. Anyway, I’m not that into OCs (if we can consider an hypothetical new generetion proper OCs) as some of you know.

These headcanons are *post* DWK 5 and don’t follow DWK 6 events. I didn’t came up with names, i had some ideas but EH

Leon & Nessie

• It’s a boy.

• It’s a perfect mix between his parents

• Glitter cowboy suits and pink bunny Halloween/Carnival costumes are strictly forbidden.

• His brother came 2 years after him and Leon was so happy to have two boys.

• But also started to understand why his dad needed to sit on the couch in silence at the end of the day when he and Marlon were kids.

• “I’m leaving boys, don’t do anything i won’t do and that can make mama angry!” ”But you always do things that make mama angry!”

• These two haven’t been grounded for more than 15 minutes.

Maxi & Blossom

• Their first child is a girl and is totally daddy’s princess.

• Dark blond locks and blue eyes, her features are mostly like Maxi.

• She took the height from her mama, so she’s always the shortest one.

• Their daughter was even able to melt grandad Maximiliam’s heart.

• Probably the kind of child who actually gets the pony she wanted for her birthday. Theodor Maximiliam gets asked a lot why there’s a white pony in their mansion garden.

• Their second born is a boy and cames around 4/5 years after. It looks a lot like Maxi with the only difference that he can’t and won’t stop talking.

Markus & Düse

• The two didn’t planned to have children when they discovered Düse was pregnant. They still had to recover from the pregnancy shock when they found out that they were going to be parents of a couplet: a boy and a girl.

• After their birth, silence became something unnatural for the Von Theumer’s Mansion

• Dūse & Markus are the parents every classmates of their children want.

• Lots of roadtrips.

• The twins got into little spats way too much, they both have a really strong character and all of their “fights” are most likely to little sarcastic comments and eyeroll.

• Their third son came from Haus der Sonne it’s one year older and it’s slightly quieter than the twins. Slightly. The bond between the three is really deep and the Von Theumer family is such a solid family full of love.

• Every last Sunday of the month there is this big “Bunch Gathering” hosted at Markus and Düse’s place where all the DadSquad tell stories about their youth while making barbecue. Occasionally also old member of the team and the ones who moved away would join them.

Marry and Joschka

• Due to Joschka’s experiences with his father (in Juli’s book is said that he left their family) he really tries hard to be the best dad in the world.

• Their first born is a girl, really dark hair, green eyes and Mary’s freckles. Really small compared to her peers.

• Joschka’s 16 year old self would probably make fun of himself getting his nail painted by his little girl during a tea party.

• Their second born is also a girl who looks pretty much like her sister sans for Joschka’s eyes.

• Joschka started to do that “wie geht es dir” thing with his daughters.

• Painting is the #1 family activity, it usually ends with a paint fight. Also indoor football matches are a thing in Reik family, started by Joschka who probably breaks things around the house.

• “So… you said you’re a mother of three but i only see two kids, where’s the third?”

*pointing at Joschka* “There.”

Terry and Raban

• For obvious reason, everytime their son is left to play with his cousins, Raban casually checks every now and then.

• This ginger boy seems one of the purest things in the world. But took mostly of his character from his mother.

• Raban tries his best to save time from work to spend with his son.

• For his boy’s ninth brithday Raban and Uncle Joschka would build a tree house in Raban’s garden painted and styled by Terry and Aunt Marry. (I’m not over the fact that Raban and Joschka would be actually brothers-in-law, it melt my heart.)

• Their child really won the gene lottery as he is extremely skilled both in painting and creating things.

• Terry really tries her best to keep her children Terry really tries her best to keep her children well mannered but Raban makes it harder than she planned.

• “I wonder who taught our son to spell his name with burpes.” *Raban, burping* “No clue.”

That’s all I came up with! Sorry i took so much time to answer but it was kinda hard lol.

DWK as Soccer Dads

Leon - Superinvested, always comes to see every match, brings his kid to training, tries to pass on a certain code of honor to the new generation. Is probably volunteer trainer/referee. Might invest more of his free time into his kids soccer team than his kid does. Marlon - Suportive, but on a reasonable level, tries to also share other interests with his kid. Comes to support at matches, but let’s Horizon do the training part. Gives the best peptalks before a match. Fabi - Has this typical ‘you go out there and fucking murder them‘ peptalk, is that spicey soccer dad that takes things to the highest level where it doesn’t quite belong. That shouting supporter, does it at the training too. Is probably asked to wait outside by the trainer a lot. Deniz - The silent supporter that give his kid courage and motivation with standing and giving calm nods. Superchill about the kid messing up a training or a match. Gives good tips on how to become better. Juli -That knowledgeable soccer dad. He knows the name of every sort of trick and makes sure his kid knows it too. Has a moral code his kid will need to know about and always brings this big bright supporters banner to the kids matches. Joschka - The proud soccer dad, says ‘that’s my boy/girl‘ a lot. Even when the kid loses he’s all like ‘but at least you are the best loser out there‘. Always buys the entire team lemonade after the matches. Maxi - Is the popular soccer dad that the entire team loves, but his own kid is sometimes kind of ashamed of them. When ever he is around all soccer moms stop cheering, it’s sorta annoying. But he means well and he tries his best to give his kid some pep. Markus - ALWAYS DRIVES. No matter where the team needs to be, he is driving. Cheers, but not to loudly, always grins like a loon when his kids team wins. Buys his kid chocolate when the team loses. Super sweet to all tema members. Jojo - Extra careful dad. Making sure his kid doesn’t get injured too seriousely, making sure the gear is tiptop. Sometimes it is a bit annoying, but he is so extra loving that his kid always makes sure to be careful for him. Rocce - Deep, he goes deep. He is the one that arranges things, like camp, official shirts, a jacuzzie in the changing rooms. Sometimes gets kinda crazy and his kid will have to tell him to calm the shizz down. Feliks - Isn’t a soccer dad, is a soccer mom. He always has food and an first aid kit with him. Spots every faul and harasses the referee until they aknowledge it, no matter for which team it is. Nerv - The leader of the fanclub, always cheers the loudest or yells the hardest, has a flag and a banner and is also a soccer uncle to Maxi’s kids, even when they are in different teams.

hmm, thanks for the headcanons then. are we able to request gifs still? you said you ship fabilissi, i have a crack pairing to. i love leon and blossom. :3 anyway, i actually came here for brain storming. i call it such, because i think i am overanalizing when it comes to dwk. whatever, have you guys seen kurosawa's throne of blood? it is a remake of macbeth actually, but the beginning scene has macbeth and banco's japanese counterparts lost in a forest. the forest is protected by a forest+

spirit. i remember you said you don’t know much about the japanese culture, but in japanese culture, the spirits are mostly believed. the mist fills the forest -created by the spirit- and macbeth and banco are like puppets, played by the spirit. they get to come across her. she spins a web just like she spins the fates of the two. spirits have such abilities according to the japanese belief. i couldn’t even analyse kurosawa’s scene itself because you know he is a genius and there are better reviews and criticisms on it but i can say that masannek must have been impressed by kurosawa’s throne of blood because the fourth movie has horizon as the spirit, leon as macbeth and marlon as banco. maybe this idea may be developed but so far, as i remember another thing, you said masannek was impressed by twilight when he wrote the fifth movie, so i believe that the fourth one share so many similarities with kurosawa’s throne of blood.

I like all the possibilities of the Leon and Blossom dynamic too, actually. 

She probably scared him to death the first time he saw her and she threatened him and so on, but they eventually talked once they were in the castle and he explained to her that he has his friends to go back to and tells her about Vanessa and that he has to go. She maybe was the one who told him about the Legend about true loves kiss while reminding him that: ‘It’s only a silly fairy tale’ she sees the misery in his eyes and at some point starts to have pity and then gives him a quill and paper, “here you go, but for the love of god stop talking about that girl.” and he starts to write:“ Beloved Vanessa,…” Imagine Blossom stealing the key to let him escape and making it look like an accident in front of darkside. Or how she held the hetch door open, to let him slip outside in the middle of the day when every one else was asleep. And while doing all that, she still thinks its dumb and that silly boy is just lovestruck, but she silently wishes him good luck when he looks back at her before escaping into the dark. And her last words, before closing the door are: “If you see your girlfriend again, tell her she’s snoring when she sleeps. She should do something about that.”

Yeah, maybe he was! I never heard that kind of theory before but it sound very interesting. I like that Joachim Masannek says without shame that he was influenced by certain things with his storys, because we all are, aren’t we? Some authors don’t want to admit that because “No, thats all absolutely totes original and ALL thought out by me, i am so original bla bla bla” I think somewhere it said that the fourth movie had a mad max vibe. Or for example you see the influence by DC in the Lamp they used in the sixth movie, or that there are dc comics in Leons and Marlons room, or simply by putting Joschka in a Batman shirt.
