I want to highlight how Penelope is a QUEEN at quick, satisfying exits in Season 3.

Exhibit 1.

The Queen's Garden Party Escape:

Colin comes up to Penelope and tries to impress her with his new persona and clothes, tries to engage with her over Eloise being friendly with Cressida, but is just left confused in the dust when she leaves without a proper friendly goodbye or even a half-hearted smile. Boy is practically slack jawed inhaling her dust.

Exhibit 2.

The Danbury Ball Exit:

Here, we have take two of Colin's attempts to charm Penelope. He lies about having come to check on her, compliments her, tells her she cannot be a spinster when she attempts to flee his presence with a bit of grace, says he misses her and gets the shit slapped out of him with his own words... and again is left grasping for words and coherent thought as Pen gtfo's.

Exhibit 3.

The Kiss Run:

Penelope thought this was her only kiss she would ever have. It was glorious. It was beautiful. And she ran from any awkwardness that could have crashed that memory. But the result is the same, Colin left in a muddle of his brain & bits short circuiting while she Cinderella'd the fuck out if there.

Exhibit 4.

Under the Willows:

The boy is all tangled up in his underpants after the kiss, so this one wasn't too hard. But he barely said even one truly honest thing that he wished to say before she was just goooone. And again, sad boy left looking confused af.

Exhibit 5.

The Day of Francesca & John's wedding:

Penelope exits their bedroom fully dressed, gloriously cool and unbothered. She lets Colin know that she is going to see her mother and spare him the carriage ride with her to Bridgerton House and is gone before he can even say a word. He looks so wistful and puzzled and like he had so much he was ready to say. And this time, THIS TIME, he does something about it. He goes and rereads her letters.

Mad respect to Pen for these swift exits. As a woman who has also employed it when mad at or uncomfortable with someone... it's such a power move. Whether or not it helped any of the situations? Ehhh, but still, damned satisfying to leave the man who hurt you just hanging to twist in the wind sometimes.

one of my favorite parts about that scene in season 3 episode 7 of the umbrella academy is right after the umbrellas and sparrows “contained” the keugelblitz and celebrate by opening several bottles of alcohol and partying, because in every single shot ben is in, he’s either trying to get himself or five as wasted as possible

MERSKELES PART 3!

Definitely not mermay anymore but here's the last 3 sirens I wanted to do

and some explanation on why I choose what I did under the cut

(little warning for parasites on fresh's section)

So from left to right

Dream is a golden colored koi carp fish, I picked it because they are very pretty and they represent a lot of positive things like luck and fortune, some people even wish on them to make their dreams come true :> I also thought of the legend where a golden koi fish climbs a large waterfall to turn into a dragon, so they have some mythical legends as well. In terms of the actual fish, Koi are very sociable and sturdy, they also live for quite awhile.

Nightmare is a coelacanth, he should probably be an octopus considering he has tentacles, but I really wanted to make him a coelacanth because I think they are neat. Coelacanth's are very old with the latest fossils being over 400 million years old, they were thought to be extinct until one was found in 1938, grandpa nightmare. They are also nocturnal, sleeping in caves during the day, they live deep in the ocean as well. 

Fresh is actually a two in one, he is a rainbow parrotfish with a tongue-eating louse in his mouth. Out of alI the bright fish I did a parrotfish because I really like their gradients, and I think the magenta fins fit his jacket. He's a parasite inside of a Sans body, so I picked a fish parasite to go along with the fish half of his body. I chose the tongue-eating louse, a type of parasite that replaces a fish's tongue. It first severs the blood vessels to the tongue and once it falls off takes its place. feeding on nutrients and acting as a new tongue for the rest of the fish's life, very cool and terrifying.

Hear me out- Ghosts have wings. They have wings, which are affected by their cores, and can make them disappear from sight if they want or need to. You got that? Good. 

Ecto-contaminated people? Don’t have wings. Liminals and Halfas, who have developed cores? Do have wings, and they can’t hide said wings, because unlike ghosts? Their bodies are physical living flesh. 

Now Gotham? Ecto-contaminated, there’s no doubt about it. The amount of portals that have been opened there and death pits and death cults… yeah it’d be surprising if it wasn’t. But again, no one really notices, because at most? Most just get a bit of eyeshine. 

The Bats however? Oh man are they freaking out when they wake up with aches in their back and feathers starting to poke through their skin. Curse? Nope! Welcome to Liminality, enjoy the second puberty of wings, emotion-sharing, fangs, claws, and whatever else you might develop- also enjoy the whole eating fear thing. (Wait, the what-)
