i think theyve ditched it now, but the weird trend where tpci tried to be like “dont evolve your eevee! youre better off using its own unique gimmicks!” like with pikachu was so bizarre from a marketing standpoint. it works as a quick subversive storyline for the anime or something, but not as something people would want to naturally associate with the character whose whole gimmick is evolving into a bunch of cool things.

WIP Wednesday means ECHO! And the Eevee evolution that best aligns with him :).

Last year I was working on different clones with different Eevee types: they are my daughter's favorite Pokemon alongside Ninetails.

Found deep in the bowels of my WIP folder! I'll try to finish it.

And Echo, well, he seemed like an electric type. Duh.

The office is quiet as the video opens, the sounds of breathing and the faint sounds form the busy city outside the window trickling in. The place is, to put it kindly, a mess. Papers are scattered across the floor among the scattered books and clothes and pokemon toys, looking much like a hurricane ran through the small space.

Slinky the arbok takes up most of the space on the couch where we first expect to find Amy, and as Echo pans down we can find the resting place of the professor, entombed by the fuzzy weight of five small sleeping pokemon on the floor.

That may well be the best description, entombed, as the professor looks… bad. Despite being clearly awake they simply stare blankly up at the ceiling, fidgeting with a small dark object in one hand. There are deep bags under their eyes and they look like they haven't slept in weeks, stress and tension clear in his muscles.

The silence is abruptly broken by the strange jingling tune of the videophone on Amy's desk, startling a few of the pokemon pile and pulling a grumbling noise from the professor themself. Grabbing their cane from beside them they clumsily tap the videophone up on the desk, activating the voice-only function.

"What is it, what's wrong?" they almost sigh out exhausedly.

"Oh! um, there's a Casimir Ginkgo here for you? She- sir? Sir you cant just go until I get per- She's already in the elevator professor."

"Fuck-" Even as they continue they sit up, setting a couple of the pokemon on them tumbling backwards, reaching for their clothes. "Thank you, jut let him up it's fine."

As they get to their feet and deactivate the videophone we hear a string of johtonian curses before the feed cuts.

Happy very early birthday to me. (December 18th) Past Wednesday my brother bought me early presents on two shirts and the newest Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

Also a meal from Applebee's. Time to dig out my Switch again and play some Zelda.

began a playthrough of pokemon ultra moon while i was in hospital and genuinely sincerely forgot that alola is fully a contender for peak pokemon actually. everyone should be playing these games.

Pokemon Echos (the fangame I've been trying to work on the side,lost a lot of motivation this year for it and spriting in general up until recently) was actually planned to have a 3rd playable character that being 'Purple' and as you can tell they would have been the non-binary option but they have actually been scrapped since I couldn't get them to function right since for example if you picked 'Red' your secondary rival would've been 'Blue' (the female player character) and vice versa

So instead they are either going to be a password reskin like Ana from rejuv or just axed completely and relegated to a postgame fight (you can still pick enby as a gender option but you can only play as Red or Blue without the password being used)

I know it's a story, oh I know it's just a story. But why does it feel like my worst nightmare?

My Explorers of Sky Hero, Echo!

Lately I've been writing a study on her and this paragraph is taken from my rough rough draft. It's a more in-depth exploration of her character/origin/experiences and since I am a huge fan of the darkrai reincarnation theory, this is my personal take on the concept.

I think it's a bit poetic that Echo, in the aftermath of everything, winds up as a dark-type again (and one connected to the moon no less, the irony) as well. I mean, her timeline of lives has literally been this:

Darkrai (New Moon/Pitch Black) -> Human -> Eevee (Evolution) -> Umbreon (Moonlight)

A lot of her evolution into umbreon has to do with her personal trauma/amnesia and also significant influence from dusknoir (who she trusted and cared about), but deep down I feel like her evolution was also partially determined by the fragmented remnants of her original self. She even tried to evolve into leafeon, which obviously, did not work out as planned. Perhaps this is her past lives way of manifesting in her current self, though she is no longer the same pokemon anymore. Maybe it has something to do with self-forgiveness or acceptance? She still has a lot of healing to do, though.

Once evolving into a dark type, Echo slowly starts to regain some of her memories from her time as Darkrai. And Team Wish's new friendship with Cresselia, who is more perceptive than she has any right to be, gives Echo a lot of insight into exactly who she is. This spirals into Echo battling the reality of her past actions alone for a long time because how is she supposed to admit the truth to Sora? That she was the direct cause of their shared suffering? That she and darkrai are one and the same? That all of the pokemon of the future lived in an eternity of hell because she desired it? Of course, she keeps quiet for a long time out of pure fear-- because if Sora rejected her, she'd fall apart. It's a lot to keep secret but what else can she do?

And bonus!! Does Echo's shadow change during each night of the new moon? Hmm. Sure does seem like it.

For another year, I've meticulously recreated @aniraklova's Edgewave lot in blender, and now I'm sharing it with you!

Same as last year, it is NOT a 1:1 recreation. But it is very much based on and inspired by the Edgewave lot!

I RUN MY RENDERS IN CYCLES - this was built for cycles and NOT tested with Eevee! (but feel free to adjust/run in Eevee!)

Only instruments from the original lot are included - feel free to design the stage as you see fit!

The stage screens are grey on install, but you can replace them with your band's images with the included files:

Replace those files with yours and then plug them into the texture nodes. If you need help with this please reach out!

Jessibelle has a big straw hat with a big bow that she wears at the beach. That’s her favorite place and she loves to look for sea glass

Eugene definitely pulled a “don’t you touch my DAUGHTER!” during the final Dusknoir fight and surprised himself and everyone else

Katya was originally the Hero in my first EoS game, but I played through what’s out of the rom hack Seven Symphonies and played as Cassandra (as a Sylveon) and wanted to make Cass the leader

In my first EoS file, they got to level 100, along with their beloved Shaymin teammate

Cassandra was male as a human and upon turning into an Eevee, discovered that she doesn’t think of herself as male and transitioned
