said to my friends "i'm thinking i should make a zine. it'd be good for my soul. or something"
i think it was
this is the first zine i've ever made. initially i opened up inkscape on my computer with the intention of a zine about blackwork embroidery. but i felt overwhelmed immediately. being able to worry about fonts is bad for the soul. at least when you do it too much
when there were only three materials I thought: okay, it feels like four materials today. then I added one more and took a hard look again: no, let’s make it five. still not satisfied with it so I had to stop there. materials: a blue Copic, a blue Ecoline, a yellow Derwent Inktense pencil + then a pencil from Faber castell + and a dark blue Derwent Inktense pencil in the very end.
I also drew walking figures today and it was the hardest thing I’ve done for this challenge so far (people walk so fast! definitely gonna do it again). not very pleased with the coloring tho. materials for this one: a dark green Derwent Inktense pencil, a red Ecoline, a yellow Copic.
it’s 3materialsdrawingchallenge hosted by @/naomitippingillustrator, @/charlotte.durance and @/kathryn_boyt. the point of this challenge is to draw every day for a 100 days from life using just 3 materials and for no more than 30 minutes.
Happy Zelda day!!! I'm practically *buzzing* with excitement. My copy hasn't arrived yet and even if it does I still have some work to do before I can play! (Being an adult is so overrated)
So let's celebrate with some old fan arts instead! (in reverse chronological order) If anyone needs I'll be camped beside my front door. OKAY BYE! 💖
It was mainly to better test my new warm brown ecolins, ofc while the lectures on academy. Tbh I still need many other colors to be fully happy but ecolins had the best formulas and are not as invasive on other pages and irritating for me by smell than for example pro markers that I just go bonkers cuz MY GOD Usopp has some color finally. Even if I suck in coloring, what ever. Viva random entering the art shop and zoning out between trying to remember why I even got there and remembering that I do need more things to draw with.
Also I try to find good palette for that revolutionary Usopp design of mine lol.
They called Usopp's nose stupid btw and it is related to one thing I work on 🫠
I finished the on-paper version of my digital drawing! First time using inks and watercolors (as like, not a child) so it'll take a while till I can make the coloring more smooth but pleased either way!
materials: acrylic marker, watercolor ink, coffee and ecoline
size: A3
materials: an orange Derwent Inktense pencil, a blue Ecoline marker, a light green copic.
