I think another way of people treating the world around then differently as c!dream is how people act about his role as admin. He has to intervent in conflict to solve them and make sure people follows the rules. But at least with l'manberg and c!tommy's situation people want him to take others roles. On l'manberg c!will wants him to take the role of the tyrant just for doing his job (aside of his actions on it) and the rest of the server that arent his allies wants him to just give up the rules and give it a pass. But they also kinda want him to be responsible to look for others bad habits too. Like how when it's point put ctommy's bad actions sometimes it's just tell "he's just a kid" and act as it's cdream's fault for not looking out for him like some guardian, or how some blamed him for c!wilbur taking his life when yeah cdream didnt help him much but his decision was only his. For c!dream his role it's to make people follow the rules and not created conflicts and that's all but some treat him like he's some sort of teacher or guardian

That's very true! Its how the other server members treat and receive Dream that they practically put his role as an admin/owner on a pedestal.

It's Dream being the owner that he has to have all this power. Him being genuinely kind to his server members in the beginning is completely overlooked solely by the joining of Wilbur when he puts Dream in this frame as something more than an equal. Because Dream had regarded himself as an equal to everyone else, he was no different to them. Just someone who had more a voice of reason compared to many of his friends.

It isn't that he didn't want his friends to fight because he's the owner, but because he didn't want anyone upset. He didn't want anything griefed because he didn't want anyone to genuinely be affected by the destruction. He didn't uphold his role because it's his job, but because he genuinely wanted everyone to have fun. People want Dream to let them be and do whatever chaotic nonsense they want, but Dream knows that not everyone has that same mindset and is better to keep a more relatively calmer atmosphere. Tommy being added to the bag, if anything, had allowed Dream to find different ways to work around destructive behavior. Dream banning Tommy, if anything, showed how Dream was not used to someone just listening to him and saw an immediate threat in that. This was someone outside of his circle and he recognized it, so he did start being more lenient to Tommy's behaviors and learning about them. Such as engaging in stealing the discs. And I really don't regard this as him taking his role of an owner for the betterment of his server, but as someone who is finding a new kind of fun with someone else on his server.

However, that is quick to take a turn when people aren't regarding him as a fellow player that you should also hear out and respect but as someone in the way of what they want. Power. Something that was never on the table and something that never was to be contested before.

So Dream had to stand his ground and say no. Because a fight for some silly discs in a back and forth during the beginning was just that, a back and forth. It wasn't until Wilbur was claiming he had the right to take and control the land L'manburg stood on that pushed too far. Because the land was for everyone. But once he did this, no one had ever saw Dream the same again. And almost vice-versa. Dream could never again see the others being destructive as a way of entertainment but as a way to go against him and his server. They could never really be equals ever again.

Dream had taken his role as owner to try and stomp out the one thing he was being accused of abusing throughout the server's lifetime. Power, hierarchy, tyranny. And isn't that an amazing paradox?

Dream had to provide to the server in every which way because he was the owner, not too little and not too much. But it was always too little or too much. He was no longer someone working alongside them, someone also trying to work out the same problems they were facing and experiencing. He was just someone above them who should already know the answers. And with that, others didn't want someone above them, so they aimed to bring him below them and take whatever Dream had claimed to power.

But all Dream wanted was to stand by them again.

Of course, this is all personally speaking!

Vale looks at his feet, he doesn't have the strength to look him in the eyes, he'd just cry if he did.

And Valentino Rossi doesn't fucking cry.

"I - us - this, all this Marc, it was a mistake. It was a mistake the first time and the second and the third is not gonna be right. We were a mistake already back in 2014. Ten years don't change that"

Marc is crying now, hot heavy tears streaming down his face, falling to the carpet on the ground.

Marc doesn't look him in the eyes anymore, too much pain, too much suffering if he does.

Hello! I’d love some input on my character in progress. Her name is Idelle, she’s an elf mage. She was raised in a very tallman-heavy area and was adopted by tallman family friends after losing her parents. It led to a very convoluted situation with her tallman parents dying before she reached maturity and her basically being passed down to her siblings to finish raising. Due to that whole clusterfuck, she’s developed a cold demeanor towards short-lived races and thinks getting involved with them brings trouble. The only magic user in her small town used gnomish magic, so she is more experienced in that than traditional elf magic. Specializes in offensive spells and knows Jack Shit about revival magic. She associates with Kabru’s party even though they’re mostly short-lived, because her life’s goal is to Fuck That Gnome

I’m sorry I will FULLY admit I am biased towards evil/mean women I will always. Fully support them. Like Idelle doesn’t fully seem like an evil/mean person but, cold women too. They will always rub me the right way ma’am please. Ignore me.

BUT I LOVE HER JOINING KABRUS PARTY JUST TO GET TO HOLM THATS SO FUCKING REAL (this motive is too good for me omfg like. I love a basic ass motive in characters just as much as complicated ones). But also can I say I love the fact she dyes her hair dark too and likes snakes. Those are like really interesting traits. Also as someone who sucks hard at character costume design I wanna say I LOVE. IDELLES. It’s dungeon meshi but still alternatively fashionable if that makes sense.

My questions to you are as follows….if you wanna build Idelle up I would suggest answering these

How does learning a gnomish style of combat affect her being an offensive magic user? Gnomish style magic doesn’t compel spirits like elvish magic does, so what happens if the spirits refuse to listen or don’t do exactly as she wants? ESPECIALLY in the heat of battle?

^To add onto this I want to say this is why Holm uses familiars, specifically ones he raised himself. They’re more likely to listen to him completely and without issue. Do Idelle and Holm start to bond over this? Does he teach her to raise/create familiars? (Or does she perhaps already have one? Or maybe one she’s “working on”?)

How does she feel about Kabru’s party over time? Do they start to grow on her?

How is she with Rin? Rin’s also an offensive attacker (I think??). Is Idelle better or worse than her at magic? Does Idelle care about this fact or just not pay her any mind since she’s a tallman? I think there’s like. A really good thing here party dynamic wise. (I also want to say like. Kabru probably doesn’t like the idea of making his party bigger but after talking to Idelle and seeing her reactions he adds her to the party out of genuine curiosity on how it affects Rin and Holm LMFAO.)

How does she react to Marcille’s “condition”? (Don’t wanna spoil anyone jic)

Lastly, about her past as being raised by tallman, is she cold to them as like a means of avoiding the pain when it comes to losing them? (Just making sure I got this right). I know elves reach adulthood at 80 so. It’s kinda sad imagining her like, losing her kid teeth at 30-40 and just becoming a true young child (like. Probably the equivalent of a ten year old) and her tallman parents are just. Grandparent age. Or don’t even witness it AGHH THAT SUCKS….i love it

Ohhh what's are You thoughts about c!discduo and their final?

HI!

OK. As a general statement, I loved the finale. I put some thoughts here. (warning it's a bit long and also how I observe Tommy and Dream in general)

Some basic thoughts are that it reminded me of an anime (none in particular just had that vibe haha)

The "bad guy" was only trying to protect his home and the protagonist realized it in the end, it was just cool to me in that regard. And then it blew up, because the protagonist had thought he was doing something for the greater good. It was just awesome in its baseline to me

A bit further though, its about the absolute human nature that is shown in both Dream and Tommy. Its the desperate nature of Tommy needing to understand why Dream did what he did, but never quite seeing Dream outside of his own ideals until he is basically forced to see things through Dream's perspective. It's the only way to break Tommy's stubbornness and to actually learn and realize how his perception of Dream had been so warped for so long.

It's realizing both of them want a happy home, but one had a definite picture of something to go back to, while the other barely understood what it meant.

Dream wants to be happy with his friends. And Tommy realizes how his idea of a happy home is almost non-existent. Being happy with your friends is home, something Tommy has never truly worked for and only chased materialistic desires in hopes it would lead to that. It's realizing he took away something so easily obtained from both Dream and himself. Its listening to Dream actually speak and realizing how relatable Dream can be. It isn't about Tommy forgiving and forgetting about whatever traumatic experience he went through with Dream. It's about realizing how they both continued to hurt each other when they both wanted the same goal.

And in turn, its Dream seeing that Tommy has actually understood his true goal that Dream falters. It's realizing all his actions have slowly led him away from this ultimate goal of him being happy with all his friends and living in peace and it's his greatest enemy(annoyance haha) stating it in the most straightforward way that he realizes what he's done.

They've both hurt each other in ways they'll never truly come back from, but they also grew in this moment in large ways.

They were both a catalyst to each other's actions and now that it had been resolved, the reset just made sense. It drives home how sometimes understanding can come too late in life. And in this new world, there is hope that they can finally find that home they always wanted.
