2024 São Paulo E-Prix - Times, Track Layout & More!
Written by @thelateapex
We are about to go green in the greenest country on the Formula E calendar once again - yup, you guessed it! It's almost time for the São Paulo E-Prix, and with a name harder to type on an english keyboard than any welsh town, its not surprising that you may be confused about the times, track layout and standings going into the weekend!
Times
As I'm preparing to watch FP1 while listening to Vamos, I'm worried that you guys might miss it, so here's the times of the Friday and Saturday!
FP1 - Friday, 16:30-17:00 (19:30-20:00 GMT)
FP2 - Saturday, 7:30-8:00 (10:30-11:00 GMT)
Qualifying - Saturday, 9:40-11:03 (12:40-14:03 GMT)
Race - The race itself will start at 14:03 track time (17:03 GMT), but we recommend tuning in at 13:50 track time (16:50 GMT) for the full experience. It is planned to last until 15:00 (18:00 GMT), but that will heavily rely on a full green flag race and perfect track conditions, so expect some variation if you're on a tight schedule.
Track Layout
Look out for some overtakes going into T1 and T2 as shortly after the start line, we have a chicane, with both corners angled at 90 degrees respectfully. But don't expect much speed after that, because the drivers then have to prepare themselves as much as possible for a sharp hairpin turn that will put them on the back straight. As they reach the higher end of their speed capabilities, the 3rd gen cars will slow down for a Monza style chicane, which includes T4, T5 and T6 before picking up more speed to approach yet another sharp corner. Now watch this section for overtakes, as T8, T9, T10 are fairly close together with the chance to pick up speed in between the braking zones. Look for some last minute overtakes down in T11, the final corner of this 2,030 metre long circuit, that regularly proves to be one of the fastest on the Formula E calendar.
Standings
Heading into Round 4, Nick Cassidy (P2 in the 2023 São Paulo E-Prix) is leading the driver's championship, but that could all change as Mitch Evans (P5 in the driver's championship, and won the 2023 race) is looking to pick up some easy points after finishing a disappointing P10 last round. Another challenger Evans and Cassidy will be looking out for is Sam Bird (P3 last year), who, following his move to McLaren, is yet to get a podium after a DNF in round 3 and P4 in round 2, where he picked up his only points so far this season.
Conclusion
So, like always, this race is one to look out for, and as a relatively new fan and journalist, I am very excited to be watching this race! Hopefully you enjoy watching it too, and until we go green again, goodbye!

He scrunches his nose again. He’s so fucking cute, Buck has to kiss him about it. So he leans in to press his lips against Tommy’s briefly, but then moves to kiss the tip of Tommy’s nose, and then his chin, just because, reveling in the fact that his boyfriend can’t stop the beaming smile spreading on his face.
