Centre Stage | Art Fight Revenge | Photoshop
I don't think I've ever drawn an elephant character before, so I jumped at the chance to draw Jtnav04's Savannah taking the stage :)

i’ve been pretty busy so i don’t have a lot of time to draw as much as i want to right now but i wanted to doodle a little something of @bunnymajo‘s quake bc i think out of all the ocs in @sonic-oc-showdown she might be my favourite
As of posting this there’s still about 3 hours left on the poll if you also think she’s really cute.

i think my issue w suffs was mostly a staging/directing thing bc i thought the music was pretty decent but also like. idk man it was just incredibly bland to me. it wasn't Bad per say but oh i think i just realized that my issue w that is the same as my issue w a lot of last year's - i have literally no idea who these people are or what their relationships to each other are and therefore what the story they're telling is. if i just wanted the history i'd learn that yknow? the rest of the show might be really great at those things but i wouldn't know based off of the performance

oddity: the elephant in the room
the truth is : most people don't want to live in this world the way it is
and that there are more or less three types of people:
people who want to maintain the status quo
apologists/people afraid of change/fence sitters
those who are sick and tired of it
we live in a world that has been very obviously destroyed by our own hands. whether we've meant to or not. we are all a little responsible
however, there are some who are much much more responsible than most
institutions like the catholic church, systems of oppression like monarchy, capitalism, democracy, and communism (which are more authoritarian than many are willing to admit), as well as certain demographics of people (rich)(white)(old money)
we live in a world where people have the need to feel special but many ostracize those who are actually different than their peers.
we live in a world where people recognize all the wrong capitalism/materialism/democracy is doing but still want to be king rat of this rat race
we live in a world where many people have strange, inextricable experiences. where people believe in give lip service to the spiritual nature of reality... but do not act like it.
there is a cognitive dissonance, a lack of sincerity, and unwillingness to change.
why?
because when people put together the pieces of this puzzle what becomes more and more clear is that we've been lied to.
not just about what reality it. not just about who and what we are. not just about what we're capable of...
we've been lied to about everything. and everyone knows.
but do they act like they know?

Fire. Air. Water. Earth. For nearly 50 years, Avatar Kyoshi has fought to bring peace and order to the four nations. Despite her best efforts, much of the world is still in turmoil. After the fall of Chin the Conqueror, the Earth Kingdom fell into disarray as his former generals turned on one another and skirmished for territory. Fire Lord Zoryu continues to work a quiet but persistent political maneuver to snuff out the power of the Fire Nation’s great clans and consolidate influence under his own personal banner. The seas, for a time made clearer by the destruction of the pirate fleets of the Fifth Nation, now find themselves facing an ever growing number of a new generation of marauders who see opportunity in chaos and are determined to find their fortunes amidst the confusion…

moulin rouge (film) is the perfect combination of camp and sincerity (which are not, of course, in conflict) and it makes me feel absolutely Insane every time like it consistently hits no matter how much time goes by

// if you can't tell I have a huge pet peeve with technological advancement in stories
like, 1 in 3 bridges when trains were invented failed
the mongols, despite conquering everything from western europe to china couldn't conquer india because it was too wet and their bows weren't able to keep their power in such conditions
technology is messy and dangerous and it often doesn't work in every condition
you cannot just introduce a thing and have everyone instantly understand it, that's not how anything works
btw, fun fact, the first person to ever die from a train? A member of the British parliament.
