Moon 2 - A new healer and a rough day

Badgertuft is the StarClan Guide in-game so I thought it was fitting for her to be the one to tell Moonpaw of her new role

Moon 175-Leaf-fall

Gladepatch (51) and Sleepyfoot (41) are feeling better.  Asterpaw (11) and Poolpaw (11) are very relieved.  Taking care of the Clan with just the two of them was hard!  Unfortunately, Lightkit (2) has gotten greencough.  If it spreads to Tornkit (2) he’ll have a hard time shaking it. It turns out that Creekstar’s (29) fears over Daisyfreeze’s (16) safety were quite warranted.  Just the moon after she became a warrior, she was found dead near the TulipClan border.  Her brothers and parents are shaken.  Rustsong (44) and Wildcave (58) will miss their only girl.  Finchbelly (16) and Halfnoise (16) are shocked to find themselves the only survivors of their four kit litter.  Glowpaw (11) is feeling shaken by the loss of another young cat.  Chervilcry (154) promises that she’ll always look out for him.  Gladepatch is grateful for all the hard work the apprentices took in caring for him and takes a moment out of his day to share tongues with Poolpaw. With Sleepyfoot back to working in the Healer’s den, Pigeonspot (44) is taking responsibility in caring for their kits.  She plays with the ever so talkative Elmkit (5), who just wants to tell her how she knows so much about fighting.  Yeah right-maybe that’ll be true once she’s an apprentice!  Meanwhile, Cypressbadger (41) is getting in fights with everyone.  She argues with Frostheart (78) and Frecklekit (2).  What is up with her?  Well, it turns out she is feeling ignored and unappreciated in the Clan.  Her sister is busy with kits and she caught Brightfern (17) complaining about her behind her back.  Meanwhile, Brightfern’s sister, Primcrest (17), is doing quite well. Creekstar is quite proud of her former apprentice.  Primcrest fought bravely in a border skirmish with TulipClan and with great control over her powers.  She’ll be ready for an apprentice soon-and then she can become deputy.  Creekstar has also enjoyed spending more time with Wildcave.  She loves his sense of humor and how she can make him laugh, over and over.

I'm back! Had a six-month dry spell before I finished this bad boy, but I think it came out okay. The deputies and medicine cats needed to be explained a bit, and I'm gonna pretend the reason they weren't labelled beforehand was because Weasel is a dingaling who forgot to look into it.

Though the chill from leaf-bare still hung in the air, the cats of Lightclan were relieved to find that the billowing snow had ended for the time being, and the weather had warmed up enough to melt what frost remained. While trees remained barren, the green grass began to flourish, and the flowers were already beginning to sprout.

Newleaf had arrived, and Birchshine was just as excited as any cat. She hadn't seen the forest so full of life and color since her kithood! There were so many new sights and sounds... not to mention the prey pile would be so much easier to fill now that prey was beginning to peer out from their dens.

Birchshine had already caught several pieces of prey to contribute to the clan. Nothing quite filled her heart with more pride than providing for her clanmates, but even still, the warm air filled her heart with a sense of longing. What further changes would Newleaf bring to her life? She couldn't wait to find out.

The snow has melted, and the flowers have begun to grow once more. The season is now newleaf.

Bearpaw teaches Sleetkit, Elmkit, and Flowerkit some hunting techniques now that the weather has warmed up.

The kits are getting close to their apprentice ceremonies. Lightrunner has been spotted mumbling about their potential future mentors...

Lightrunner and Stormflower have a playful spar in the middle of the camp.

The pond in camp has thawed. The cats of LightClan can fish once again.

The Forest Spirit's garden is full of mud. The plants inside are still dormant for the time being.

A pure white molly with green eyes, shredded ears, and heavy scarring on her back leg. Born in Shadowclan under Brokenstar's leadership to another OC, Frostwave. Frostwave only had a single kitten, and although she did not approve of Brokenstar's methods of... Acquiring more... She would never say no to another mouth to feed. And Brokenstar knew it.

He took kittens from Rogue groups, and personally indoctrinated some. Spiderclaw, Batclaw, Oakstripe, Lizardsong and Nestfur are all examples. Each one turned out differently...

The other is Elmfeather, or Elmkit as he was known when he was small.

Elmkit was passed off to Frostwave when he was brought to Shadowclan's camp, and she immediately took him in. Milk-kit... Hated him. She didn't like that he was getting her mother's attention. Then it turned into this outsider getting her mother's attention...

She is made Milkpaw by Nightstar and assigned to Scorchwind. Scorchwind... Ain't great. He supported Brokenstar for the most part (which is hilarious seeing as his wife cheated on him with the guy). He teaches Milktail to channel her anger into strength, that she has the "right" to be angry over her brother.

Before he tells her about cuckoo birds. Anyways, how about we go on a border patrol?

She is named Milktail by Tigerstar when he takes power. She fully supports Tigerclan, and hopes it will mean the death of her brother.

Nevermind that she has new siblings, Nightkit (Nightwing) and Wildkit (Wildfur), and Frostwave has just died from sickness. Nevermind that two of her siblings, Woodkit and Silverkit, died in that same sickness, the 4 born far too early. She doesn't care. All she can think about is what her "fake brother" has 'stolen' from her.

Elmfeather has done nothing wrong, but it doesn't matter. She hates him.

Elmfeather flees to Thunderclan, and after Tigerclan falls apart, she goes to the newly appointed Blackstar, and begs for forgiveness. "Blinded by hatred" she says to him. She won't ever let it happen again. Shadowclan is her truest love, and she only wishes to still be part of it.

In his defense, she was popular. She was liked. She was forming a bond with Daykit, Flintfang and Fidgetflower's little one. When Daykit was made into Daypaw, they were given to Milktail, as a sign of good will towards her. She had Shadowclan fooled.

She remained good with Daypaw, teaching them lots of battle tricks and hunting tips, strict but on her best behavior. Daypaw became Daywhisker, and Milktail never spoke to them again.

She is made Deputy after the retirement of Boulder during Starlight.

She lured Blackstar into a double trap with the help of Mistfang, Tigerstar's sister, who got Ashfur to help them out.

Firestar and Blackstar were shoved into fox traps, Birchpaw gets Brambleclaw to come to the lakeshore, but he bumps into Elmfeather on the way. Elmfeather, having mentored Sootfur after Longtail was blinded, has also qualified for deputy, not that he wants it...

And Brambleclaw freezes. In the Chaos, Elmfeather explodes out of the bushes, snarling at his sister. She immediately flares with rage, fighting with him. The two grapple, biting and clawing one another until...

Elmfeather forces Milktail backwards, dunking her head into the water and nearly drowning her. She plays possum one last time, but when she springs back up, Elmfeather is prepared, and her throat meets his teeth.

Blood is spilling Blood, and when Milktail falls back into the water, the Lake begins to turn pink.

She goes to the Dark Forest, Mistfang not far behind her. They walk together in darkness until Tigerstar calls on them.

Later, during The Great Battle, Milktail gets one last showdown with Elmfeather, now older and grayer. She brutally wounds him but manages to get an upper hand on her, chasing her to Riverclan land and catching up with her, rolling them until he is on top of her, the soft riverbank partially giving way, making them slide back. Milktail's head dunking into the water, Elmfeather pushing forward and finally drowning her in the river. Her oily black blood runs through the river and into the Lake once more. The last thing she sees is Elmfeather's eyes, full of disappointment.

He wanted a sister.

Some specific things to know about Blood to Blaze that is specific to it for those learning about it!

The clans are now called Coteries! This is because a coterie is a small group of individuals who share a common interest/goal instead of a clan which is like a family. Within the Coteries there are specific families that form officially after two generations with a specific theme and claim to fame. An example would be the Thunderbrush Coteries Plum Family that’s all the descendants of Star Plumpelt (Canon Redstar) and includes Star Oakfoot, Birchface, Yewfreckle (Frecklewish), Star Pinemuzzle, and Tigerclaw. The only reason Tiger did not keep his kit name, which was Elmkit, was because his father ran away which relinquished their infamous family from the succession line leaving him to take up his mother’s family name after a big cat, being a tiger.

The five four coteries are: Thunderbrush, Bogbound, Riverway, and the Swardfell. Named after their specific environments which separates them from each other.

Much like canon there is a central Leader, their Second, and the Medics. Every coterie has to have at least one medic but occasionally there may be multiple seconds with one specifically being called the heir while the other is just a helpful paw to train the upcoming heir to leadership. Besides these three crucial role there are the Oracles. A special very exclusive role held by those with a clear connection to the different scapes which reside at the meeting grounds to act as guides to all coteries.

Within the coteries there are the apprentices and warriors (general term for all cats who’ve passed their apprenticeship). Once clearing their official training any new named cat can take extra lessons on specific jobs like cooks, guards, carers, etc. and will be trained by any experienced cat in that role. Because the coteries are different in what they need to learn for their environments they have special roles that pertain to just them.

Families themselves are much more tied to blood then even canon does. While the coteries have what’s called the Blood’s Bluff which is where a dame or sire may choose to hide the other cat that created the kits they do have to disclose the other side to a medic or oracle to not cause a mix of kin and as a backer in case they are accused of being half blood specifically. Even here the main parent can lie to save themselves and their kits but it is shaky to do so. While the living won’t know what’s the truth the dead do and will use that at a cats attempt to ascend to the Star Scape (Starclan). A family of prominence that adopts a known outside kit into their fold is considered fully a part of their family unless specifically severed even though they obviously don’t share blood. If a family wants to split it may but it is a very messy matter as it is essentially denouncing blood shared with your kin.

Yay first moon! It's a little rough but I'm still happy with it. Sootrain is struggling hard to keep it together while the kits are blissfully unaware.

Moon 173-Greenleaf

This greenleaf has been a hot one, and many cats have come down with heat exhaustion.  Not great for the two Healer apprentices.  Sleepyfoot (39), Chervilcry (152), Wormdart (29), Palejumble (13), and Elmkit (3) have all come down with it.  And Primcrest (15) realizes that she actually has heatstroke.  She knows enough about healing from having earth powers to identify it when the apprentices can’t.  She’s also hesitant to heal herself, knowing the stories about dark-cursed cats who do.  Fry’s (80) constant nightmares have stopped, and he’s looking forward to getting to go back on patrol and catching up with Creekstar (27).  Gladepatch (49) appreciates the hard work his apprentices have been putting in and notices just how considerate Asterpaw (9) is.  With Sleepyfoot sick, Pigeonspot (42) and Cypressbadger (39) have stepped up in watching out for the kits.  Cypressbadger gives Goldenkit (3) a badger ride and Pigeonspot thinks she’s very helpful.  Halfnoise (14) makes sure to spend time with Daisypaw (14), who is frustrated at not being a warrior yet.  He makes jokes about neighboring clans with her and makes sure she feels seen.  The stress of being the only two Healers in a Clan full of sick cats is starting to get to Asterpaw.  He feels like Poolpaw (9) could be much more helpful than he is.  While on a patrol, the apprentices find a loner named Marshdapple (64) and her three kits and bring them back to camp.  Marshdapple and one of the kits, Frecklekit (0), have a weak earth-blessing. It will be nice to have a more experienced cat to help out in the Healer’s den, even if Marshdapple is still recovering from giving birth.  At first they think the other two kits are powerless, but they realize that one of the kits, aptly named Lightkit (0), is giving off a little more heat than is normal.  He’s fire-blessed.  His brother, Tornkit (0), though, is powerless.

It was a surprisingly warm day for Leaf-fall. Anyone with two bits between their ears was using it to sun themselves; Pinethroat was purring happily in the clearing while Mossytooth snored on his back, paws dangling. Ted had Huggy Bear in one paw and Picklekit in the other, grooming aer with sleepy strokes that trailed off into bleps. Squirrelwhisker was loafed outside of the nursery, actually looking somewhat happy for once. Weaselstar was pacing, because some would claim she lacked a relax button. "Squirrelwhisker," she meowed. "You've been a warrior for a long time." "Calling out my age when I'm too sleepy to claw your eyes out? Well played." "I mean that you've been part of a lot of patrols. Like. A criminal amount of patrols. And you're, well, you. You must've caused plenty of fights." Squirrelwhisker cracked an eyelid, unimpressed.

Bit of a middle ground chapter! It's more of a character study than anything else lol.
