Man, Vax is so utterly fucked.

Forget being orbified— if the gods knew what was going on with the malleus key, Vax most likely disobeyed his goddess's direct orders to Not Get Involved. And then ended up being the key to unleashing the god killer, putting her and all the other gods in danger. Because of his disobedience.

Yeah, being orbified is the least of this guy's worries. Sure, his goddess might forgive him— but will the other gods? Especially if the god killer wreaks havoc on the pantheon and their hosts? Man, the hell that's going to rain down on him if he gets released.

my gut reaction was no…! because i feel if the IMF existed in the topgunverse then they already would’ve recruited maverick!! That’s not to say that maverick and ethan hunt are the same—they’re very much not… but i do mean to say that the mission in TGM IS an impossible mission!! the IMF is a militarized branch of government like the CIA or FBI… it could be well within “their interests” to hire a daredevil pilot with a strong sense of “morality” like mav, and they could make a use case argument for stealth planes the way the CIA did. lol.

i do think Ethan hunt is deeply heterosexual in a way mav is not. i also think, were they ever to meet, mav would still somehow get in his pants
