Lloyd’s Character Season 8

It seems like there’s quite a bit of discussion regarding Lloyd post episode 82, and I thought I might throw in my two cents. We know that Lloyd is really hurt over Harumi’s deception and betrayal. That much is heavily implied. At the end of episode 82 misako says that his only mistake was being too trusting, or in other words naive. He reply’s with “Not anymore”. The music gets ominous and he is cold and dismissive of Harumi’s attempts to appeal to his good nature. Now the two schools of thought seem to be either, Lloyd is just going to more carful from now on and that this new side of him won’t be explored much more in depth this season, or OH MY GOSH LLOYDS GONE DARK( he’s going to be cold and rude to everyone including the ninja). I occupy somewhere inbetween these two. I don’t think that he is going to do a complete 180 from his original character.( I sure hope not) instantly being cruel and hurtful ESPECIALLY to the ninja would not do his character arc justice and it would feel cheep and 1 dimensional. I do however think that his emotional is far from over. He is a teenager. At the very least he’s 14 and he’s emotions are 10 times more extreme than we’re in past seasons. If he doesn’t get pushed over the edge and snap at least once at the ninja I would be surprised. He’s gonna go to the extreme for a quick min and then he’s gonna need to realize that this is exactly what happened to Harumi. She was hurt, and she translated that into taking that out on others. The difference between Harumi and Lloyd is gonna be how he deals with overcoming his innocent naïveté and past trauma and consciously turning it into something good. Yes you can say that up until this point Lloyd has had way more traumatic events in his life than Harumi did, and you would be right. The difference is that in this season the writers are actually drawing ATTENTION to it rather than sweeping it under the rug. Which I greatly prefer. It’s a great lesson for young teens. Perfect for the new demographic of the show. I may be wrong, but this is just my opinion. Feel free to start a discussion with me! I love talking about ninjago!

One, get into the mini-storage business or two, buy 600 acres in Ottawa, build an arena and get an NHL expansion franchise. They opted for number two.        [36:01] Bruce describes the space he and his partners were in to make this grand vision a reality.        [37:20] Using his “Brucelets” for imagery, Bruce examines the difference between a person like him who thinks big, acts on it and does the deal and a person who talks about it, plays small or doesn’t do the deal. Believe in yourself.        [41:47] Bruce and Patrick riff more on trust. Surround yourself with the right people who provide support and in turn a mutual trust can flourish. Community, culture and environment – that’s the secret sauce.        [46:05] Getting back to the NHL Franchise, Bruce talks about the journey of ownership with the Ottawa Senators, game changing decisions, franchise bankruptcy and finding strength in adversity.        [51:02] As challenging as this time was for Bruce with creditor demands and a large family to support, he supported his mental space with physical activity and taking each day one step at a time. Don’t avoid the problem, meet it head on and have the tough conversations. With this approach, he avoided personal bankruptcy through negotiation with the bank and the tax agency.        [56:53] With a shorter runway at the age of 54, Bruce needed to look at different ways to build a portfolio than he may have done at 34. Through his coaching and brokering, Bruce’s company revolutionized the revenue side of the business with something they call Property Animation.        [60:34] Bruce provides a couple of examples of what property animation looks like.        [63:40] Business models, scales of success, and investment in the velocity of your goals.        [69:53] Bruce talks about his passion for writing and the great benefits he has enjoyed from adopting a regular yoga practice. 11 Nov 1918 - George Lawrence Price, Canadian soldier. He is traditionally recognized as the last soldier of the British Empire to be killed during the First World War. He was fatally shot in the left breast by a German sniper as he stepped out of the house into the street. He was pulled into one of the houses and treated by a young Belgian nurse who ran across the street to help, but died a minute later at 10:58 a.m., November 11, 1918. 11 Nov 1918 - Henry Gunther, American soldier and likely the last soldier of any of the belligerents to be killed during World War I. Gunther's squad approached a roadblock of two German machine guns in the village of Chaumont-devant-Damvillers near Meuse, in Lorraine. Gunther got up, against the orders of his close friend and now sergeant, Ernest Powell, and charged with his bayonet. The German soldiers, already aware of the Armistice that would take effect in one minute, tried to wave Gunther away. He kept going and fired "a shot or two". When he got too close to the machine guns, he was shot in a short burst of automatic fire and killed instantly. He was killed at 10:59 a.m., about one minute before the Armistice was to take effect at 11:00 a.m. He died at the age of 23.

11 Nov 1973 - Artturi Ilmari Virtanen, Finnish chemist and recipient of the 1945 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for his research and inventions in agricultural and nutrition chemistry, especially for his fodder preservation method". He invented AIV silage which improved milk production and a method of preserving butter, the AIV salt, which led to increased Finnish butter exports. 11 Nov 1930 – Patent number US1781541 is awarded to Albert Einstein and Leó Szilárd for their invention, the Einstein refrigerator. Its an absorption refrigerator which has no moving parts, operates at constant pressure, and requires only a heat source to operate. The three working fluids in this design are water, ammonia and butane. The Einstein refrigerator is a development of the original three-fluid patent by the Swedish inventors Baltzar von Platen and Carl Munters.
