I might have been going this way, or I might have been going the other, I really couldn't be sure. Anyway, don't try telling stuff like that to certain people, you'd just be wasting your time. I don't even want to talk about it, to tell you the truth. Sometimes he'd sell off the first couple things he could get his hands on for some change to spend at his man on the corner, but it'd take you a while to recognize what the things had been. Like, I used to have this xylophone. It wasn't the best xylophone in the world or anything, but I knew a few jingles to play on it. Except once when I was older I went looking for it and all the keys were missing. I mean, every, single, one---it was just a wooden block left behind with a pair of rubber-tipped sticks. That's good copper you had lying around, boy! he said. Who are you, the queen of the world? "That's not the point!" Damn: all of a sudden I was yelling out loud in those woods. Something off to my side scurried away at the sound of my voice. "It's not just the queen of the world who gets to keep her stuff. It can be the rest of us too." Pah. More drivel. Same as ever, I see. "Shut up!" Where are you now? Lost, I bet. I was plunging farther still into the smells of wet bough and rotten moss. Dark things with pinpoints for eyes were moving in the trees. I heard his mean footsteps coming down the stairs after one of his sleepless nights spent arguing on the phone. The dungeon of my imagination had been flung open without the sun to keep watch. "You don't get to do that," I said, and I meant it. You don't get to go around selling all the copper you find because you think no one can do anything about it. Not the copper, not the bicycle pedals, the motors for my toy cars, the night-lights. Not the screws from the bed frame so that the mattress had to be put on the floor, or the graduation rings, the razor blades, the alarm clocks, the cuff links for my one good shirt, the remote for the TV. I stopped where I was and dropped to my haunches. The swamp water was chilling my clothes and that was the reason I was shaking. "I'm not some coward." Geez, I was having some serious tremors. My clothes were really damp. Something must have flown into my eyes, too, since I was having to wipe them a lot all of a sudden. All that ever happened to me was bad luck and cold clothes, and I was tired of it. And as a matter of fact, I was lying just now, it was the best damn xylophone in the world. And he had been the one to teach me the jingles on it. So if some of us who you see out here are not musicians, it's only because those we loved the most once took back the keys.

The Setting

In the world of Cael, there are 3 Continents, Asma, Gabros, and Eskor.

The party starts in Asma, in the coastal town of Coal Harbor.

A lot of the things in this world aren't very set in stone, meaning I have a lot of freedom when it comes to the level of technology, and how wild the magic can get.

Various factions roam the world, and also various deities, such as "Oogh", god of the seas, mystery, and environmental protection I guess.

Magic can be detected if one's 'aura' is strong enough, like a god-tier mage could definitely be detected by some random commonfolk with no magical affinity, and this applies vice versa, where a person with better magical affinity can detect those with little ability.

Dragon OCs!!

So we got Talgosa and Karid. Both from Eskor.

I made a post on Talgosa but I'll sum her up: She is a Silver dragon. She has a human and dragon form. Info on Silver dragons: They don't spend much time in their "lair" so the things they hoard are small so it can travel with them. Silver dragons LOVE to fly and will just soar for hours through cold, wintry skies. They are the largest breed of dragons, their height being at 24ft, and their wing span being 150 ft. They will also eat just about anything, they like to try new things.

A Silver dragons scales will sparkle in the sunlight. They also have frills that start at the top of their head and go all the way down to their tail with the base being a light color, and as it gets closer tot he end get to a deep purple and sometimes black at the spines. Silver Dragons are fairly family oriented and live in groups. Silver dragons just want peace and to not cause harm, if they are asked to help, they won't turn them down though. They also enjoy the company of elves.

Talgosa is very different in this sense. She prefers to be alone, but it is mainly because she has always been alone. While on Voa she doesn't bother anyone. She lives far North of the island in the mountains and comes down into town every so often. She's always in a bad mood because she's stuck on this island. Ambrosia informs her every time that she is allowed to leave, but Talgosa won't because they don't know what the world is like, and for all she knows, she's one of the last dragons alive.

Now Karid is a White Dragon. The smallest dragon breed at 16 ft and a 72 ft wingspan. They will hoard anything shiny. They don't care what it is. Shiny? They take. So their scales are obvs a pure white and sorta sparkle int he sun. Their head and neck seem to be one int eh same, they blend into each other. Their wings are always a tad frayed at the edges as well. They also have a pointy turned down beak. Some of their teeth show when their mouths are closed. They also have a large fin on top of their head but have no horns

White Dragons and Silver Dragons are similar and very different from each other. Their colors are similar, they both live in icy cold habitats, and their abilities relate to ice as well. But Silver Dragons are the largest and most intelligent breed, while White Dragons are the smallest and considered the dumbest. However, White Dragons have an incredible memory, so if you do wrong to a White Dragon they will hunt you down to kill you.

White Dragons are remarkable hunters, but will really only eat anything if it is frozen.

Now Karid is fairly small, but he's not stupid. Far from stupid really. White Dragons barely want to take care of their eggs let alone live with someone else, but he loves company, He loves being around others. He has a very hard time understanding somethings tho.

Talgosa is much taller than Karid. Plus Talgosa has horns even in her humanoid form.

I can't really draw but this is basically Talgosa's humanoid form. I need to fix it a bit. Silver Dragons don't have a forked tongue...but I gave her one. She also has blue eyes.

I don't have a ref of Karid, and surprisingly enough...he does wear clothes unlike Talogsa

While Talgosa keeps her hair shoulder length. Karid has long white hair that he pulls back. His sclera is black instead of white, and his iris are green. The edges of his wings are a bit tattered and all of the scales on his body are white. He has scars on his face and different parts of his body from fights.

His tail isn't as thick as Talgosa's and it flicks around like a cats tail. He will often wrap it around his waist to keep it from getting in the way.

The two are from the same country, Eskor, but they don't know each other. With White Dragons being the smallest they keep to themselves to avoid conflict from the other dragons, but other than Silver Dragons, not many others adventure into the snowy mountains.

Eskor is a country of Dragons, other creatures lived there too. Many elves did along with some humans who where there to receive protection from dragons, thus giving the dragons something in return.

They still haven't technically met, but I'm working on that

Onward I went through that grove of shadows, the image of the hill in my mind's eye my only guide. I hardly knew my progress in so uniform a blindness. Heavens was it hard to see in there. I was starting to feel too-alert, electric, tuned in all-the-way with the senses I had left. Come over here, boy, let me learn you something. I spun around. Walking through those woods like that, I was getting to thinking about everyone who'd ever doubted me, all the lies I'd ever been told. The dark was becoming a featureless canvas on which memory could do its bidding. Right this way, I'm in my room. For instance, there was this guy I used to know, he was my grandfather, he always used to say my problem was I'd been sabotaged. Your problem, boy, is you've been sabotaged! No one raised you right! I mean, how is that a kind of thing to say? Especially when he was the one left doing the raising. Some things are true only because you've said them, but they were lies just before.
