because now i feel intense envy for those with seasons since i live in eternal summer (tropical country blues *sobs*) so i need to compensate that with vicariously living through fictional characters 😔✋

Honestly these 4 in a haunted house would be...intresting. Like okay honestly their vibes would probably be enough to scare the haunted house staff. Especially Orion hed probably scare them on purpose

Orion would probably dress up as a zombie???

Ozzy would be roped into dressing up as a corpse (he objected but Nathalie persisted)

Opal would dress up as a ghost!

Nathalie would go as either Junko from danganronpa orrrr Muffet from undertale and we love her for that

ughhh it’s so on point for dorian’s character to roll a Nat 1 with the first use of his father’s sword. but! GETS TO REROLL BECAUSE HES NEXT TO ORYM. i’m unwell.

them(dorian and orym) both agreeing to the idea that it’s “not real”.

we see in this episode especially how orym gets impatient with the gods just like dorian. AHHHH

Thinking about how Ludinus was able to exploit the laat sliver of Vax's humanity to kick start the end of the pantheon and how that may have played into the Spider Queen's decision to make Opal forget everything (especially Ted) from her life before being Opal: The Champion.

Is anyone else still caught up on the parallels between Imogen and Opal?? Because I am.

I was revisiting my c3e92 and c3e93 live thoughts and came across two big points:

Firstly the parallel of Ted disappearing in order to protect Opal with Liliana disappearing to protect Imogen. And the contrast of Ted, who did so by becoming an inseparable part of Opal while Liliana tore herself away desperately trying to separate herself from Imogen. Both done out of a will to protect the other. (Fyi This was written during e92 before the Aevilux reveal)

Secondly, after the Aevilux reveal, this connection hit me: The locket Imogen got from Relvin (potentially carried by Liliana) carried her baby fingerprint and the words “The better halves make/become a better whole.” A sentiment that Imogen tries to use at the Malleus Key and on Ruidus to get through to her mom. And who is a near perfect literal manifestation of this? THE AEVILUX. The people who split their souls in two (or were born separate in Opal/Ted’s case) and live independently before reuniting again and becoming more powerful for it.

Now imagine Imogen and Opal were to meet (obviously possible as both are being pushed to fight Predathos/those trying to free it) and Imogen repeats the locket phrase and something about it sounds so familiar to Opal, but she just can’t remember it. The group realize that there are gaps in Opal’s memory. Eventually Imogen is able to restore Opal’s memories, living through them alongside Opal in the process (kind of like how she projected herself into Laudna’s head in e103). Then Opal helping Imogen get through to her mom in turn. Or even just them fighting side by side to prove how much stronger you can be if you stop running from your better half. That coming together is a way better way to protect someone than running away and fighting those battles alone.

TLDR: I need Imogen and Opal to meet and talk this instant. Please Mattholomew Mercer I would do anything.

Also the significance of Opal City. I don't have anything significant to say, but god you really feel it with Opal City. The setting is a character. That's how I feel. It's significant to Jack (also very much so to Shade as well). Not just in the sense it's home...I can't put my finger on it exactly, but you really do get the sense there's something special about the city.

I'm seeing a really nice post with gemstones and I love gemstones and I'm assuming you love gemstones, so which are your favourites? :D

I'm also seeing a post about bread. What is your favourite bread and what's your favourite way to eat it?

I went to answer and then got sidetracked trying to remember gemstone names, which then resulted in falling down a rabbit hole of googling gem mining (not actually mining but for some reason it’s still called that but I think some places actually call it gem panning which is the actual thing you’re doing)places, common gems you can get from them, and then having to Google the raw form of the gemstones because I don’t have any of my collection with me currently XD Gemstones are so pretty, especially the more iridescent ones

Raw labradorite is probably one of my favorites. (I completely lost my train of thought for a good bit there and my brain is refusing to elaborate beyond “it’s so pretty” XD) Especially whenever the lights hit it!

I would also place Quartz and Opals as some of my favorites as well. For Quartz I prefer the rough/raw over the polished versions. When it comes to Quartz and its Rose Quartz variant I prefer Rose Quartz. Meanwhile when it comes to Opals I actually prefer their polished form over their raw forms XD (sadly I don’t think I actually have any opals for my collection yet, but one day)

I’m not even sure how or when Quartz and Rose Quartz found their way onto my favorite gemstones list, but they did at some point XD Opals are also because of their iridescence! (Especially white opals, those are my favorite when it comes to opal)

Now for bread my favorite has got to be homemade southern biscuits. Put eggs and bacon or put honey in them and it’s amazing. They’re also great by themselves if you just stick butter in them. A little annoying when they start falling apart as you’re holding them, but that’s part of the fun!

A Soul to Touch (Duskwalker Brides #3) by Opal Reyne

This is it, this one is my favorite. I adored this read, gobbled up all 589 pages as fast as I could. I lost sleep reading this book, staying up late and getting up early just so I could consume more of Mayumi and Faunus' story. Eat, sleep, breathe Mayumi and Faunus.

Mayumi is a former demonslayer, with her eyes set on keeping the gig up as long as possible whether she's part of the guild or not. She is small, strong, stubborn, and kinky. She also lacks some emotional intelligence and doesn't exactly speak with all the elegance we can get from some others. Basically? She's a normal fucking girl living in a demon-infested world and making the best of what she's got going on. And I love her so much. She is one of my all-time favorite characters. She's not always sure what to say, she can't always express herself perfectly, and sometimes she doesn't know how to handle a situation, but gosh she sure is doing her best and that's all we can expect. Some other highlights include being a fellow monsterfucker and bisexual!

Faunus is our big, monstrous male lead. He is funny, sarcastic, kind of a goofball but with a serious and introspective side to himself. He's the duskwalker with the most humanity so far in the series, and also the most well-versed in bedroom play. This one can crank out some serious dirty talk and he loves watching in the mirror; see also: breeding kink and size kink. He's going through it from what we saw of him in the previous book, and he continues to go through it in this book so buckle up for some heart wrenching moments.

This book has it all; great writing, great characters, gut-punching angst, heart attack inducing smut, and butterflies-in-the-tummy slow burn romance. I'm saying I pulled that one stunt and stopped reading for a couple days about 30 pages from the end - not for bad reasons, but because I simply couldn't bear for this story to come to an end. That's how much I loved this story. 10/10

Would I read again? Yes, 100 times over, I adore this book!

Would I recommend? Absolutely, I encourage it, please read this book it's so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
