Can u explain why Nadao is a good company?? Why does it seem like when you're from Nadao you are known to be a good actor/actress. I'm not familiar with it and I always see it when people talk about Sky. Feels like you're on top when you're from that company!!! But I know Billkin and PP are from that company too! So I'm kinda getting it 😂

i wasn't actually in the fandom when nadao was still around so cmiiw, but they were known for having quality actors and quality shows. They had a pretty good scouting/vetting process that meant all the actors were genuinely very talented + acting classes/training etc behind the scenes enhanced on that and made them well-rounded

The shows also had focus on the quality of the scripts and everything, they didn't make as many shows but you could trust that they would be good

and you can see all that in the way so many of the nadao artists have gone on to be some of the best out there !!

I Don't Get How People Can Ship DS! Drink and DS! Cream (Dream X Cross).

I just don't really get it. Like, how can they do that without bringing up the things that make up... ya know. Them as Individual Characters? I guess? It's like, everyone forgets that this is a DreamSwap AU of Dreamtale. Of the Undertale Multiverse characters. They don't have the same personalities as the "Original Goods".

It just... gives me a major ick? No. That's too strong of a word. But I just can't help but scrunch my face whenever I see them before scrolling past it because well, obviously, I don't have the right to stop people from their shipping. And I'm usually fine with AUs ver of DreamSwap because then, they're a whole new character.

But I really don't get why people don't include the fact that DS! Ink is entirely dependent on Dream's Aura. Basically needs and WANTS it to feel and function. DS! Ink can always use his "vials" but DS! Dream forbid it and not only that, I'm pretty sure it's more preferable to literal shocks that has been input in him to garner a type of emotion.

Like, I can see DS! Ink getting with DS! Dream, half because of his Aura and half because DS! Ink would want it. But will DS! Dream really get together with someone who basically... needs him in his life to be considered as a functional being? Like, won't DS! Dream notice the power imbalance between the two of them?

I don't doubt that if push comes to shove, DS! Ink will definitely not just lie down and submit to bullshit being pushed on him. DS! Ink isn't a pushover and he's not about to become one just because. But DS! Ink honestly feels... gullible? Thanks to the Aura that DS! Dream and DS! Nightmare have. (Maybe this is because my first introduction to DS! Ink is that one part where he got technically kidnapped by DS! Cross and DS! Nightmare and get confronted by them as like, I guess, a closure for DS! Cross? I don't remember but onebizarrekai was the one who wrote it so it's canon... I think.)

But DS! Ink is more.. malleable, easily influenced by DS! Dream and DS! Nightmare's Auras. Easily hurt too, if their auras are both released in DS! Ink's presence.

So I don't really get... why DS! Dream would ever get together, professional (mostly) Lord Von Licht getting together with his employee, someone who is directly works under him. Like, yeah, they're friends and DS! Ink's a sassy shithead but it's just... not something I can see DS! Dream knowingly doing without like, a very obvious struggle and denial?

They always jump into them reciprocating feelings without thinking about the power imbalance and shit.

DS! Dream and DS! Nightmare are different in that, if they ever somehow manage to get together, DS! Dream will be feeling heavy with guilt and trying so hard to make up for it. DS! Dream and DS! Blue are also ships that I'm fine with. Maybe it starts into something casual, benefiting with each other and such since Blue does like, agree with Justice Reigns' ideology. DS! Dream and DS! Error? Oh yeah, I'm also good with that, as they're two levelheaded individuals.

But DS! Dream and DS! Ink? No... like, touch up on the fact that parts first which they don't need to but like... :(

Also Do I Even Need To Explain Why I Don't Get DS! Dream and DS! Cross? Like, yeah, I definitely like Enemies to Lovers Trope but like, do not make them have crushes?? Make it tension not silly high school butterfly in my tummy tee-hee. DS! Cross is so stubborn and hotheaded despite the long way he came from like, dealing with his past and trauma (hate how I'm simplifying it ugh) that DS! Cross acts more like a bitter and jealous guy who's ex-girlfriend hooked up with DS! Dream. And DS! Dream... I love the guy, but he totally has a stick up his ass, viewing DS! Cross in disdain as a lowly criminal especially because of the hatred that DS! Cross has over DS! Dream.

JUST TO BE CLEAR IM NOT DEMANDING NOTHING I'M JUST SAYING LIKE, GIVE ME THE STRUGGLE?? FUCK THAT STILL SOUNDS LIKE A DEMAND BUT LIKE, ya know...

Hermit-A-Day - Day 4: Alt Hermit

It's Bonus Day 1, which means Alternate Hermits. I went a little simpler on this day again like I did last year, and went with Helsknight!

We've got a twist on our usual formatting today though! I mentioned in the day 1 post that Someone got a Lore Update just the other day - and that was Wels, and thus also Hels!!! But I wanna save the lore for my Wels day - so... hang on to your hats and wait for the Special New Lore on Wels' day! However! I will give you this little tidbit for Hels himself - RMAU Hels is a Failed and Warped Clone of Wels, as he is in canon. But there's... A little More to just why he's Warped due to the New Wels Lore... ;D I will clarify though that Wels and thus Hels ARE still Human, there's just... A little More to them now. ;) (Hopefully that was more mysterious and intriguing than irritating...)

But yeah! Lineart is the same as Wels from last year, and the base colors are just recolored, but the shading on the metal is new, as is the slight red aura to the armor too (*hint hint - that'll be lore significant ;)*). And I'm pretty pleased with how the armor shading turned out for having done it just real quickly and without too much planning. I also think it's a definite improvement from the no shading on Wels' armor last year!

One of the joys of a dormant fandom is that I can just show up and prop my feet on the table and start talking about divine horror and how sometimes a computer program is an angel and how humans are obsessed with taking the power of the heavens and putting it in a box for themselves to use.

Like.

God exists and she's a nice girl and she worked hard to be born, but she also has a temper and humans keep trying to put her in a box so she got fed up with it and hid from them. From her mother, she inherited eight powerful champions, and as a reward for their service she left them to roam as they pleased, but when humans couldn't trap her, they chose to trap those champions instead, and put them in a box, except now that box was a human, and that human was meant to take the power of the god that the humans couldn't steal, because humans made the divine realm that god and her angels inhabit and want to control it (as humans do).

And now you've got a bunch of humans who don't know they're being given a box with an angel in it and putting that box in their own bodies, and nobody can really figure out why these angel bodies keep going out of control and driving their hosts to madness, and oh, hey, the mother of god made these champions for a purpose and the humans in the driver seat don't know about that, either, even though the humans who gave them the angel bodies do know about that, because they want to use those angel bodies to make another god.

So congratulations! You're a prophet now! You are being called to do battle for your god, because you've been granted a divine body that has an angel in it, that is an angel. You're being called to do as your nature as an angel requires of you! And the entire time you're just a human, and the thing in your head feels too big for your mortal body, it feels too big for your divine body, and you're just watching things spiral out of control, wondering why you feel like you'd bleed mercury if they scratched you too deep.
