oh darling, what can be said about HIM that isn't already said by his mere presence? i was fucking petrified of HIM as a kid—just the sound of his signature disturbing, warped musical sting would have me shaking 🙈 has there ever been a more fabulous King of Darkness? what a design!!!! the lobster claws, the pink fur, the goddamn thigh-high stiletto boots...!!!!! he's so fashionable and captivating and the peak of cunty evil androgyny. i was scared of HIM...but fascinated by HIM as well, as a young queer 👀 for anyone unfamiliar, DuskTillShawn did a fantastic little examination of HIM over on YouTube!! and goodness, we can't talk about HIM without talking about that voice. Tom Kane slides between breathy, seductive tones and then devolves into aggressive grit with such ease, and the effect is so disquieting, especially with that haunting echo over everything!! the perfect voice to give the literal Devil 🫠🫠 i'm not going to lie, while rewatching some episodes to answer this ask i thought i would escape unscathed. but being older, and listening to that voice through headphones...HIM hits different 😳😳😳

i think the most unsettling thing about HIM is how he's perfectly capable of so much large-scale destruction...and yet he prefers the subtle methods of manipulation and mind control. he delights in causing interpersonal strife and psychological warfare, and it seems like his sadism is so strong that he doesn't need to wipe everyone out (even though he seems perfectly capable of doing so). i think the anxiety of HIM is that he exists in our worst moments...he feeds on our negativity, self-loathing and hatred. i used to watch this show all the time, and to this day, the existential horror that his debut episode Octi Evil caused me is burnt into my brain 😭😭😭 ... damn. i think your propaganda has worked 😳 perhaps i simply needed to mature a little to fully appreciate HIM's charms...as you know as a fellow Dale Kobble enjoyer, this is a very attractive Type of character 🙈🙈 why is it that we end up so in love with characters who give us significant anxiety? i'd love to know 😂

Hi

So I had Spanish yesterday and it went ok. It wasn't my best exam but it wasn't bad. It had a lot of repeating questions.

Today I when to school for 6hrs just doing math. I really need to improve for my grade for that last paper. Today I decided to go to my teachers lesson and it was actually helpful and I actually understood how we got to the answer.

I had planned to do biology but I am so tired, I may just watch a video. If I have more energy I would do one later.

Overall a productive day even though I only did math.

re: your post about jin guangshan: i think examining him in the way you've described really highlights the absolute horrors of the gentry in the mdzs world. because to examine WHY he is the way he is highlights a society that has absolutely no interest in reigning in the desires of its nobility. jin guangshan is the end point of that, and wen ruohan is as well; the difference is that they exercise this in different ways. jin guangshan attacks the vulnerable largely on an individual and interpersonal basis, using and discarding individual people; wen ruohan attacks the vulnerable largely on a more collective basis, conquering sects and families. they both want power, they just have different methods of obtaining it. and the other members of nobility have very few methods through which they can curb this behavior, outside of an all out war!

jin guangshan and wen ruohan must have been children, once; i doubt they ever experienced any kind of deprivation or guidance and the environments of jinlintai and nightless city's upper nobility likely only exacerbated that. i don't think it's a coincidence that the characters who likely grew up with the most power and privilege, and who exercised this in the most destructive ways, are killed by the guy who arguably experienced the Least power and privilege in his early life!!!! of course jgy would be the one to kill them both!!!!!
