Le Parc des oiseaux à Foz d'Iguaçu recueil des centaines d'oiseaux qui étaient maltraités ou destinés au marché noir. Aras bleus, aras bicolores, toucans, urubus rois, chouettes, harpies et j'en passe ! La plupart de ce beau monde est dans de grandes volières dans lesquelles on peut entrer en passant dans un sas et donc les voir de plus près. C'est archicool. Quand j'ai demandé à un employé du parc si il connaissait les noms de tous les perroquets dans sa volière, il m'a dit oui. Quand je lui ai demandé si les conditions étaient vraiment bien pour les oiseaux, il m'a dit que c'était déjà vraiment mieux que ce qu'ils avaient avant. Certes. Certains oiseaux sont trop apprivoisés pour pouvoir survivre en liberté mais il y a aussi des programmes de réinsertion de piafs dans la jungle. L'histoire la plus triste est celle des perroquets en liberté dans le parc : ils le sont parce qu'ils ne savent pas voler. Les raisons sont diverses mais toujours liées à cette sale race d'humains : ailes atrophiées, pattes cassées, oiseaux drogués jusqu'à ce que leur système nerveux soit atteint... Wir sind heute ins Theater gegangen in "The Rez Sisters". Das Theater ist direkt hinter unserer Schule und als wir aus der Schule raus waren war da etwas Stau und wir dachten das wir noch was laufen müssen dabei standen wir schon in der Schlange fürs Theater 😂. Das Stück war super geschauspielert und sehr interessant. Es ging um 6 Frauen aus einem kleinen Dorf die zum größten Bingo der Welt nach Toronto wollen. Jede hat ihre Probleme, so ist eine stark geistig Behindert und eine andere ist todkrank und stirbt in Toronto. Eine echte Bereicherung für meinen Aufenthalt hier in Victoria.

BASKETBALL + GOOD DAY :)

OMG!!! BIN SO HAPPY!! Heute is a guter Tag gwesen!! Unser Team hat wieder Basketball game gehabt, aber ich spiel ja nicht, bin eher so ein Sidekick/Motivator/Manager irgendwas, der zwar immer beim Practice dabei ist, aber nie bei einem Game mitspielt. Der Coach hat mich ja immer so ignoriert und hat weder ‘Hi’ noch ‘Bye’ zu mir gsagt xD Ich jedesmal nach dem Training:’ Bye Coach! ‘, er schaut mich an und dreht sich weg lol. Hab schon so an Grant ghabt :D Heute war er aufamal SO NETT zu mir und hat sogar mit mir gredet ! :D Vor dem Spiel hab ich ein paar Mädl aus dem Varsity Team (bestes Basketballteam an der Schule) deutsche Schimpfwörter beigebracht hahaha :D

Jedenfalls, nachdem wir gewonnen haben (Yeeey! Die Austauschschülerin aus Columbien hat 8 Punkte gemacht und ich hab Tränen in den Augen ghabt, weil ich mich so für sie gfreut hab xD) hat mich der Coach zu ihm gerufen und hat gsagt, dass wir am Montag meine Basketball Uniform bestellen und dass ich in die letzten Games mitspieln kann!!!! HAB MICH SOOO GFREUT WOHOOO

Prior to my semester abroad in Japan beginning, I had never had the experience of travelling farther than Vancouver BC alone without my family. The afternoon that I arrived in Hirakata City, Osaka prefecture was one of the most exhilarating and terrifying days of my life. I was surrounded by dozens of students of all ages, nationalities, and majors and we were all preparing ourselves for the most incredible opportunity of our lives! I moved into Seminar House 3 (an apartment style dormitory) and quickly met my 7 other roommates: another Canadian, 4 Americans, and 2 Icelandic students. Some of these women will remain my closest friends for life.

The campus of Kansai Gaidai University was huge and beautiful. Even in the -2 degree celcius weather that Hirakata was experiencing because of the unnatural cold snap that Japan was experiencing, I didn't want to stop exploring the new city that I would be calling home for close to 6 months. 

During the first two weeks, Kansai Gaidai ran an informative orientation that they hoped would prepare the students for the overwhelming task of adjusting to Japanese culture. It was very helpful and it allowed me to prepare myself for the culture shock that soon followed my arrival. We were introduced to the incredible transit system, the beautiful city of Kyoto, and were introduced to the RA’s and Professors that would be assisting us throughout the semester. After this, class selection began and all of the students were assigned to their corresponding levels of mandatory Japanese language levels. I was in Level 2, Section B with Motohashi Sensei. We met in the mornings 3 times a week for 5 and a half months along with 13 other classmates. With the small class size, we were able to form a very strong bond between the students and teachers!

The most difficult part of my semester abroad was finding a balance between exploring the new country and culture, and buckling down to study and achieve the high grades I needed to continue studying once I returned to Canada. I feel that even though I put more focus on travel and new experiences, it helped me to apply the real-life knowledge to my classes and return to Victoria with satisfaction with my choices.

I will always speak highly of my time abroad in Japan. Before I applied for the semester abroad on a whim, I didn’t think that it was an option that could work for me or my education plan. I don’t have a lot of money and rely solely on my student loans and full-time work year round. Because of the One World scholarship and Camosun College offering this opportunity, a large portion of my financial burden was removed. I cannot recommend a Study Abroad enough to any of my fellow students. My whole perspective on life has changed.

Because of my semester in Japan, I changed my major to fit my passion and interests, I made lifelong friends, and I feel like an independent woman. I cannot wait to return to Japan, hopefully as a student again and for a longer period of time, to continue my discovery of a new and interesting world!

Hier, j'ai fait une connerie. J'étais en train de faire une excursion très (trop) touristique dans la baía de todos os Santos qui s'appelait Passeio das Ilhas, où j'ai rencontré deux couples de brésiliens adorables. La première plage où ils nous ont laché était située sur une île paradisiaque mais était très touristique. Un peu plus loin, une plage presque deserte avait l'air beaucoup plus jolie. Du coup, j'ai voulu faire la ouf et aller à la jolie plage, sauf que le chemin qui y menait était en travaux. Je suis donc passée par les rochers (c'était marée basse), en me disant qu'au fond, à part les affreux cafards de mer qui deguerpissaient à mon approche, c'était un peu comme la Bretagne. Et franchement ça allait. Jusqu'à ce que le mec qui conduisait la pelleteuse pour les travaux s'arrête pour me demander si j'avais besoin d'aide. Il s'appelait Edison ou Wilkinson, je sais plus. Et il m'a proposé de me hisser sur le chemin de la pelleteuse (surélevé) pour rejoindre la plage. Je ne le savais pas encore, mais c'était une idée de merde. Ferguson m'a donc attrapé les mains et j'etais censée marcher à la verticale sur le muret pour accéder au chemin mais bien évidemment ça N'A PAS MARCHÉ, mes pieds ont glissé, ont rapé contre la pierre, mes tongs sont parties dans tous les sens et je suis retombée sur les cailloux, bref, c'était un FIASCO ! En plus après il voulait me soulever par les aisselles, nan mais on se calme, j'ai pas deux ans, touche à tes fesses, toi ! Au final, j'ai fait "la sortie de la piscine" à la Pamela Anderson et je me suis bien mieux débrouillée qu'avec ce foutu Washington ! Au bout du chemin j'ai dû retourner sur les rochers, les cafards de mer m'ont accueilli comme leur Reine et c'est seulement une fois sur la jolie plage que j'ai remarqué que je m'étais vraiment ouvert l'orteil... Cool. Cool cool cool. Wieso fliege ich in die USA ?

 Ich fliege in die USA, weil ich das Leben von einer komplett neuen Sicht sehen will. 16 Jahre hier in Österreich und ich kenne kaum andere Kulturen und Menschen. Das tolle an der USA ist ,dass die USA aus so vielen Kulturen zusammengemischt ist und somit erhoff ich mir viel über andere Kulturkreise zu lernen. Außerdem möchte ich Englisch einfach gut sprechen können, weil mir Englisch einfach total gut gefällt und sehr wichtig ist. Ich möchte Schule mal ganz anders erleben und wissen wie Jugendliche in anderen Ländern drauf sind. Ich möchte dort halt sehen was ich hier noch nie gesehen habe. Ich will auch einfach mal bisschen weg von zuhause sein und dieses neue Gefühl kennen lernen auf mich selbst gestellt zu sein. Hier gehts mir nicht nur um Spaß, hier gehts mir um sich selbst zufinden, wenn du allein irgendwo bist wo du keinen kennst und wirklich nur dich selbst für die erste Zeit hast, dann beschäftigt man sich auch ein bisschen mit sich selbst und kann somit auch sich von einer neuen Seite kennenlernen. Es ist einfach auch ein kleiner Wunsch bisschen frei zu sein und zu werden.

La Cathédrale de Brasília, qui ressemble à une couronne de l'exterieure, à été réalisé par Oscar Niemeyer, l'atchitecte le plus représenté dans cette ville. On dirait qu'elle est toute petite, mais comme l'entrée est en-dessous du niveau du sol, quand on rentre, on voit ça.
