What do you think Movie Harumi's past would be like?
SLAMS FIST ON TABLE. I HAVE MANY THOUGHTS.
but mostly three so I'll explain all the ideas that i have
1. the most accurate to canon: shes a supporter of lord Garmadon. at first, she was one of the few people that liked Lloyd (besides the snf) because of Garmadon being his dad, but she immediately hated him once he was revealed to be the gn and made Garma stop all his villainy and stuff. i dont really use this ver of her mostly bc idk what'd be a good motive for her being a villain?? maybe to match the lighter/goofier tone of tlnm-verse she could be like an evil-ex type character on the surface, but then have some deeper layers underneath?? yeah idk much about this version of her lol
2. i took this one mostly from someone else's au snippets (i forgot who they were but i owe them my life for this headcanon) and its that the SOG is a school gang and Rumi runs it!! yknow that one piece of tlnm art i doodled of her?? this was the version :DD shes mysterious, standoffish, and even a bit creepy, but in actuality shes pretty sweet!! again, dont really know why she'd have a cult following for Garmadon in this, but hey, it gives her a reason to be protective of lloyd!! tldr; local school cryptid girl who might be a witch is very protective of her estranged friend
3. and, last but not least, my 1000% purely self indulgent version of tlnm rumi!!! youre getting an essay for this lol. under the cut because it's VERY LONG. excuse my spelling errors :D
She and lloyd are (adopted) siblings!! her bio parents were nurses on koko's side of the war, getting killed by Garmadons army in the process. Harumi's parents, thinking that they were safe where they were, brought Harumi with them to their designated camp site/zone place. of course, they WERENT safe, but where else were they supposed to leave their daughter??? plus, she was only, like... 1.
After the raid on the camp, when the smoke cleared, only one living being remained; a crying little girl.
Now Lloyd (and yes, i know in tlnm canon koko left with lloyd when he was only a few months old, but this is MY little sandbox and i get to do what i want <3<3. she left with him when he was about 3 here), who was around 2 and a half by now, was currently in Garmadons custody (koko and garma switched custody every week or for plot AND bc that seems like something theyd legitimately do)
When he wandered off from his dad, he stumbled upon her. when garma found him just a few minutes later, playing with this young girl and picking her up like she was family?? he just kinda went 'well sure he can have a sister i guess' and she was just kinda?? adopted??? (your dystopian au rumi 🤝 my tlnm au rumi)
When koko left with lloyd, she TRIED to take harumi with her, but rumi- who only really considered Garmadon and Lloyd as her family- stayed behind with her dad. she doesn't know that he was the root of the cause behind the death of her bio parents (yet)
So, she spends the next few years training under Garmadon, getting stronger, yada yada. fast forward to when she's around 14 and Lloyd's around 16
Its the very first time rumis allowed to go to Ninjago City WITH garma and his generals. she does more damage on her own compared to like. 12 of them combined, so its unsurprising when shes suddenly confronted by a certain green ninja
Now, keep note, these two havent seen eachother in over 10 years. all the memories they have of each other are blurry. of course, they were both in disguises/different outfits (lloyd in his gi, rumi in her S.O.G uniform) so they didn't recognize each other at first. but, after harumis makeup started melting away, and her hair became more frazzled?
Well, lloyd could recognize her from anywhere
He stopped that fight SO FAST. idk if he'd immediately tell her who he is right then and there, but he'd stop fighting her. then, after he got her to listen, he'd pull her to the side and explain everything. including the death of her bio parents, now that she was old enough to understand it
To say Harumi was conflicted was the understatement of the century. Garmadon gave her everything- Literally made her who she is. hes her dad, and she loves him. but could she have been someone- Anyone else if her parents didn't die that day?
Actually, if Lloyd didnt find her, would she have been left to die, too?
the hypothetical conversation back at Garmadon's volcano im imagining in my head for these two rn is heartwrenching (writes that down for my wip folder) BUT it ends in harumi running away. back to the city, back to Lloyd
In all honesty, she doesn't really feel Comfortable or Good Enough to be hanging with lloyd and his friends. (and yes, she knows about the mass bullying on Lloyd, and is a second away from destroying this city herself about it frfr) BUT bc of this, she asks koko (who shes trying to refer to as mom btw) if theres any place she can go. somewhere outside the city, but not too far from the only family she had left
Sadly, Koko didnt have an answer.
But Lloyd did.
And that answer was in a little library right outside of Ninjago City, where the only other family member Harumi hasn't met yet lives :)
tldr, she vibes with morro at his haunted library and visits lloyd every week or so :DD

(y/n) wakes up to the sweet scent of some kind of flower filling up her nose and lungs. Despite the panging in her head she cracks her eyes open to find the source, though as soon as she takes in the totally unfamiliar room around her, the flower immediately gets forgotten.
What the hell?
She frowns, pushing her upper body up on her elbows to get a better look around. She has never seen this room ever before. Or has she? Suddenly she's not so sure as a foggy memory appears in her mind. Her glance travels across the cardboard boxes beside the wall on the floor, piled high on top of each other, then a desk, a wardrobe, arriving to the bedside table that has a lamp and several strange things - looking like some foreign country's small candies in colourful wrapping - on the wooden surface.
Sitting up fully she tries to move her legs to place them on the floor, but finds that it's much harder than it usually is - than it should be. All her attention turn to her legs now and the weird feeling that surrounds her left leg she hasn't noticed before. Carefully she lifts the covers that wrapped her body in a warm embrace to see what's wrong with her leg. A gasp leaves her lungs right away as her eyes fall on the cast wrapped around it from her knees straight to her toes.
In that exact moment the door slowly opens and her eyes snap towards the entering figure - a flaming red haired young man - whilst her fingers scramble to get the blanket back on her lower body, hiding the lack of clothing she's wearing as she's in nothing else but her underwear.
"Ah, you're awake! How are you?" He asks when his eyes connect with hers and slightly widen.
And his voice brings back everything. Literally everything to her mind about how she got here, all the memories flashing by in front of her inner eyes.
- - - - - - - flashback - - - - - - -
Friday the 13th. The day of misfortune and disasters. (y/n) huffs as she makes her way down the street towards the underground station to go back to her apartment. Now she knows this fact from experience.
She woke up a bit late that morning and didn't have time to drink her usual morning coffee in the comfort of her home, so she had to wait until her first break at work to drink one. When she just finished brewing a cup for herself in the small kitchen at her work, the handle of her favourite mug she kept in there broke and the now handle-less mug full of the brown beverage fell to the ground and shattered to a thousand tiny pieces, and if it wasn't already bad enough, the coffee splashed on her white shirt, colouring it light brown and leaving a wet stain behind all across her chest.
After that she managed to get through the day quite normally, right until 3pm, when her boss called her in to his office.
"The company is facing a hard time," his voice still echoes inside her head, making her shiver in sadness and anger. "I'm sorry, (y/n), the performance you showed us in the past two years was truly great, but you gotta understand that I have to decrease the number of employees. And that unfortunately includes you. I'm sorry."
If the way she worked was actually 'truly great', then why do they fire her and not someone else?
Well, probably her boss told the exact same thing to everyone he kicked out today, she thinks, but it doesn't help at all - it doesn't get her her job back.
So half an hour ago she packed everything in a box and set off to go back home, mentally raging about the cursed day. She has never believed in any superstition like this, but today she's changed her mind. Maybe all these things are true.
And that's when the next string of catastrophies starts.
As she's moving along the pavement next to the tracks at the station, the heel of her shoe breaks and she stumbles, her box flying away from her grip, all the contents of it scattering all over the ground. (y/n) tries gaining her balance back, taking a couple steps back, but the pavement disappears from under her feet as she reaches the edge, completely unaware of it.
She falls back, down to the tracks, and an impossible pain shoots up from her left leg as she lands, the air totally knocked out from her lungs. As she tries catching her breath, her hands move to lay flat on the ground so she can push herself up, but the world around her seems like it's spinning and she feels too weak to move a single muscle in her body.
Everything decelerates into slow motion and she glances around to see what she could do when something bright catch her eyes. A shiny warm yellow circle in the distance, getting slightly bigger and bigger with every second. She observes it carefully, thinking about how pretty it looks as she wonders what it might be. It only takes a second or two for her mind to catch up and suddenly she's more than aware that a train comes towards her and she's not capable to do anything to stop the collision from happening.
Friday the 13th.
Out of nowhere she feels a presence next to her, and just as she turns her head that way to see what's going on and her eyes fall on locks of bright red hair and a freckled face, the man has already grabbed her arm and with a fierce pull hoisted her up to a standing position. It feels like her arm is ripped out from her body, for a moment even the unstoppable hurting from her leg fades out to give space for the one in her upper body and she gasps before everything goes black.
- - - - - - - end of flashback - - - - - - -
The following events go by as a dozen of blurry pictures (y/n) can't make out in her mind and she blinks a couple times to get back to the present, to reality. She focuses on the redhead again, the last person she clearly remembers seeing.
"Where am I?" Her voice comes out hoarse and quiet and she clears her throat, waiting for his answer, knowing how she behaves quite rude completely ignoring his question, but she just can't help it.
She hasn't a clue where they could be, she's never seen a place like this in her entire life. It's obvious it's not a hospital. And after what happened it's just as obvious that she needs hospital treatment.
"The Burrow," he replies with a small smile playing on his lips.
And though she thought his answer would help clear some of the fog inside her head, it only confuses her more. Fred bites back the chuckle that threatens to burst from him seeing her cute frowning expression and waits for her to ask again, knowing it'll soon happen.
"The what?" The girl speaks up again, her voice now much clearer.
"My family home."
The confusion still stays on her face, and Fred truly can't blame her for it - who wouldn't be distraught after waking up in a stranger's home? Still, seeing the same expression he first ever saw on her face brings him back to the Tube station in London.
- - - - - - - Fred's flashback - - - - - - -
He's rushing down the stairs to catch the apparently soon arriving underground train, cursing his twin brother under his breath for winning the bet that resulted in the usage of any and every magical thing being forbidden for Fred for this whole week. Now he has to run errands adjusting to the timetables of muggle public transport and he's running out of time. Everything takes so much more time in the muggle world, and in the past few days he's grown to appreciate being born into the world of magic more than ever.
Arriving next to the tracks he catches sight of a dozen or so people there and relief fills his body. So the train hasn't left yet. He slows down to a walking pace and tries to catch his breath, and that's when he notices something weird about the people, something he has never seen in the past days when he used the Tube. They're all moving closer to each other, slowly making a tight circle, all of them looking in the same direction, as if something was on the tracks.
Curiosity rises in Fred and he makes his way to the edge of the crowd, standing on his toes to tower over it and glance down. His eyes immediately fall on a young woman lying there, one of her legs twisted in an abnormal way. She's looking to the side, towards the tunnel from where the train should arrive any minute now. Her expression displays confusion and slight fear, but her breathtaking beauty is still obvious, and it makes his heart skip a beat. His eyes slowly turn to where she's looking and he can see the light that swiftly grows brighter and brighter inside the usually dark tunnel, but his mind can't comprehend what he sees as all his thoughts are still only about the gorgeous woman lying there.
"The train's coming!" Somebody in the crowd shouts and that's what wakes Fred from his daze. His head snaps back and forth from the tunnel to the girl a couple times, so fast it's a miracle his neck doesn't break.
His body moves before he can fully think about his actions and suddenly he's pushing people away to make a path for himself in the crowd and he jumps down to the tracks. He hears a couple gasps from behind him, even a couple voices trying to inform him again and again that the train is actually soon there, but he doesn't care. All he focuses on is the task in front of him.
Squatting down he grabs one of the woman's arms and drapes it around his shoulder, standing up again as fast as he can, pulling her with him a bit harsher than he intended. She lets out a gasp in obvious pain, but he knows there's no time to be more gentle. Both of his arms move around her, one around her shoulder blades and one around the backs of her thighs to lift her up bridal style as he knows one of her legs is broken and she can't stand on it. And he's thankful for his own speed and thoughtful actions as he feels her body go limp as she faints.
The head-splittingly loud sound of a horn fills the air just as he turns around, signalling that they were noticed by the people on the train. As he takes the first few steps back towards the pavement he glances up, seeing two or three men already there bending down with their arms stretching in his direction. Fred quickens his pace as much as he's able to and practically throws the woman in the waiting hands, helping them pull her up by pushing her body from under, the screeching of brakes, iron on iron being the only sound that can be heard.
He stays on the tracks until he's completely sure that she's safe, than he grabs the edge of the pavement and swiftly pushes himself up, crawling on the cold surface until his legs are lying there as well. He feels a breeze moving against his back as the train arrives to the station, but he doesn't care about it, neither the cheering that erupts from the people around him, celebrating his heroic act, not even the burning feeling in his muscles from being strained. He just pushes himself up and stumbles to the woman, falling back down on his knees to be able to get a better look of her.
From up close he can see how she's even younger than he has thought, probably close to his age. She's obviously falling in and out of unconsciousness every other second. The word 'ambulance' enters his ears from the people around them, and he finds himself with a new task ahead of him. Somehow he has to get the girl away from this place and back to the shop so he can take her to the Burrow. Muggle hospital treatment isn't enough now, the wizarding world offered much better methods of healing. His mother will know what to do.
- - - - - - - end of Fred's flashback - - - - - - -
"And why am I here?" (y/n) continues asking.
"You broke your leg."
"Yeah, I figured, but shouldn't I be in a hospital then?" She tilts her head, raising an eyebrow.
"This is better than a muggle hospital," the young man shrugs.
"Mu... a what?"
"Ah, sorry. Slipped out," he let out a small chuckle, scratching the back of his neck in slight embarrassment.
Here comes the moment he dreaded. When he has to explain the existence of magic and the wizarding world to a completely clueless person and trying to do that without making a complete fool out of himself in front of the angel-like girl when she won't believe him - which he's sure she'll do.
"Wait, who are you? I don't even know your name," she speaks up again. "And how could I truly thank you for saving my life if I don't know even that?"
"There's no need to thank me," Fred protests.
"Of course there is!" (y/n) squeals as loudly as her weakened state allows. "Not everyone would jump down to the tracks when there's a train coming to save a complete stranger."
"Yeah, well, true," he mumbles, thinking back to how nobody did anything for her, anger filling his veins. Then he clears his throat, shaking his head to get rid of the negative thoughts and to focus on the girl again. "I'm Fred. Fred Weasley."
"Thank you for all you did, Fred. I'm (y/n) (y/l/n)," she sticks her hand out and a smile makes it's way to Fred face, matching the one on hers as he steps closer to shake her hand.
- - - - - - - 2 months later - - - - - - -
"I'm absolutely fine, Freddie, stop acting like I'm made of porcelain. I'm totally able to walk down the stairs on my own two feet," (y/n)'s giggling voice fills the air on the second floor of the Burrow when the redhead gently pulled her arm around his neck as he's done so many times in the past weeks.
"Alright, alright, I get it," Fred puts his hands up in surrender, backing away as laughter erupts from his throat and he turns his head away to hide the blush forming on his cheeks from the nickname she used.
Unfortunately he only gets completely face to face with his smirking twin brother who winks his way before pushing past him, a knowing chuckle sounding from him as he rushes downstairs, past (y/n), who follows him right away, only a bit slower, with Fred's careful, watching eyes trained on her back.
"See? I told you," the girl glances back at him over her shoulder after arriving downstairs, not stopping on her way to the dining table, only to stumble in a shoe someone left in the way. Fred immediately reaches out to grab her elbow and stop her from falling. From the strength of his attentive pull on her arm, instead of flying to the ground she crashes into his chest.
"I don't know, I'm not so sure," he teases, looking down with a smirk playing on his lips.
(y/n) moves her head up to connect her eyes with his, and Fred glances around her face, taking in the pink colour of her skin on her cheeks caused by the embarrassment of almost falling, then as his eyes reach the sight of her lips, he suddenly becomes almost too aware of how close the two of them actually are, and the breath hitches in his throat.
"Come on, kids, dinner's gonna get cold!" Molly's voice breaks the moment they shared and (y/n) regains balance, then gently pushing the boy away she turns around and limps the rest of the way to the dining table.
All of the Weasleys are already sitting there, watching the two of them appear in sight, and (y/n) has to bite back a giggle, still not used to the seemingly infinite number of redheads, all smiling wide and sweet at her. George pulls the chair she has always sat on ever since she was able to get downstairs out for her, offering a helping hand knowing that it's harder to sit down with only one properly working leg. Fred reaches out for her other arm just as she makes contact with George's hand, and the two of them don't let go until she's stopped moving.
She glances back and forth between the two boys sitting on either side of her, rolling her eyes at how overly protective both of them behave, when she's already told them hundreds of times that she's able to get by on her own.
The meal is delicious and the company is entertaining, just like it has always been since (y/n) stepped foot into the Burrow. Conversation flows without a hitch, only the occasional laughter breaking it for a second or two, and the (y/h/c) girl finds it hard to think about the inevitable - the moment that's coming fast, the moment when she has to leave these people and go back to her normal life. The Weasleys has become like a second family for her, and she fears that if she walks out that door, she'll never see them again. They're living a different life, in a completely different world. Their paths most likely will never cross again. She tries to brush off the sad thoughts, knowing that she'll have all the time to mope and grieve when she's back in her (ordinary and plain) flat on her own.
As she's helping Molly clean the dishes after the family finishes dinner, (y/n) pauses for a moment to glance at the redhaired woman. "Thank you for letting me stay here and for taking such good care of me."
"Oh, sweetie, you're more than welcome. It's our pleasure to have you here."
"That's true," Ginny chimes in with a joyful grin on her face as she places another dirty plate in front of her mother. "Your presence brightened up our boring lives."
"Boring?" (y/n) lets a loud laugh escape her throat. "Your lives are nothing even close to boring. Everything around here is breathtaking and spectacular."
"Is it though?"
"Try living my life for a week or so, and you'll know what boring really means," she shakes her head, the different memories and thoughts swiftly filling her mind as she turns around to lean the small of her back against the counter top, her eyes instantly connecting with Fred's, who's still sitting at the table, shamelessly watching her with searching eyes.
"I still can't believe there's a whole world of wizards and witches that we have absolutely no clue about. It makes me wonder how many things are there that's hidden from us. And it makes me scared how clueless we all are in the muggle world."
(y/n)'s only able to stand the intensity of his gaze for a couple seconds before she has to turn her head away, feeling the blood rush to her cheeks and heat them up. She swallows, only hoping that it stays unnoticed by the boy, but when she finally dares to glance back for the shortest of moments, she catches sight of a small smirk playing on his lips and she knows that nothing has gone unnoticed by him. Clearing her throat she tries to find something else to say, speaking the first words that come to her mind.
The newly learned word still rolls uncertainly from her tongue, not sure if she says it correctly, but when her restlessly moving eyes accidentally catch Fred's again, she sees a new kind of glint sparkling in his eyes, and it's enough to let her know that she used it correctly.
"It's not your fault," Ginny places a hand probably destined to be reassuring on the older girl's shoulder. "We're just too good at hiding it."
The two of them share a laugh, and unbeknownst to (y/n), it turns the shape of Fred's eyes into something that very much resembles a heart. His own heart flutters at the sound, the temperature of the room suddenly feeling too hot for him to bear, and he abruptly kicks his chair back, standing up and swiftly moving out of the house to get some fresh air and somehow try to cool the fire that's burning inside of his chest.
(y/n)'s eyes follow him, an eyebrow raised in question, deep in her thoughts right until the door closes shut again behind the boy. The sudden noise brings her back to the present and she shakes her head to get rid of the things running around in her head.
"Anyway, I gotta go upstairs and pack. I really have to go back home now," she sighs, pushing her body away from the counter.
"I'll come help you," Ginny immediately offers, hurrying after her.
Two and a half hours and a heart wrenching goodbye later (y/n) and Fred come to a stop outside her apartment's door, both of them feeling a previously never felt sadness fill their hearts.
All (y/n) can think of is flashing images of the flaming red haired boy. The way he sat at the edge of the bed she was lying in, telling her everything about the wizarding world. The way he lifted her up so effortlessly as if she weighed nothing to bring her downstairs when she was unable to walk in the first weeks. The way he walked her around the house and the garden, showing her everything and explaining things to her, adjusting to her extremely slow pace without a word. The way he showed her multiple of the products he and his twin brother sell in their shop, sometimes only speaking of their effects, other times even showing her, not caring with the fact it caused something inconvenient for himself as long as he made her laugh - which she did so many times and so hard that it made her sides hurt. The clothes he let her have when winter set in and her own became too thin to keep her warm, and the way the material smelled like him. The lingering touches of his calloused fingertips against the skin of her cheeks when he thought she was fast asleep - when in fact she was completely awake, fighting back the urge to press her face further into his touch.
In the meantime all Fred can think of is flashing images of the gorgeous muggle girl. The genuine curiosity that sparkled in her eyes whenever he told her about the world he's living in, the endless amount of questions she's asked him about anything and everything, the pure interest she showed from the first time he told her about the existence of magic. The way she bonded with each and every member of the Weasley family, finding a common thing with all of them and eventually making them all grow fond of her. The way she told him all about the muggle world and her own life, sharing all the details with him without hesitation - trusting him right away. The way his name rolled from her tongue - even more when she called him Freddie. The bubbling, loud laughter that erupted from her throat when he told her about the shop and all the pranks George and him did back in Hogwarts or when he showed her the products they now sell in the shop, the laugh that always made his heart skip a beat, the laugh he couldn't help but adore along with the fact that she seemingly didn't care the slightest bit how loud she is or how funny her laughter might sound. The way she looked in his clothes, always taking his breath away, making him wish nothing more in the rest of his life than to see that very sight every day as long as he lived - and possibly even after that.
"Well, thanks for getting me home," (y/n) points at the door behind her back as she looks up into his mesmerizing eyes. "And for jumping down in front of a train for me. And for letting me into your family home. And for taking care of me."
"It was the least I could do," Fred smiles sheepishly, his mind spinning, trying to come up with something to say that would keep the girl in his life.
"Bye, Freddie," she hesitates for a moment, then decides it doesn't matter anymore and leans in, pressing a soft kiss on his left cheek.
Fred's eyes flutter closed, heart bursting with the sudden feeling of love from both her lips touching his skin and the oh so loved nickname. He freezes, unable to think anything else than eight very important letters.
The girl moves back, fiddling with her keys to find the correct one, pushing it in the slot and turning it, gently shoving the door until it's wide open. She steps in, her eyes taking in the furniture and decoration she once loved but now finds unbelievably plain and mundane. A sigh escapes her lungs and she turns around to close the door - and wave once more the boy.
Fred still stands in the exact same spot, obviously not moving even the slightest bit since she backed away from him. (y/n) raises her hand to wiggle goodbye with her fingers at him whilst moving to close the door with the other hand, already feeling the tears blur her vision as she tries to take in the sight of him as best as she can to be able to remember him forever.
"Wait!" Fred exclaims, placing a palm flat against the wooden material to stop it before it fully closes.
This time (y/n)'s the one to freeze, hand pausing high in the air and she even holds back the breath in her lungs as she waits for him to continue.
"Can we meet again?"
Her eyes widen in surprise. She always thought that he'd never want to see her again. That he'd be happy to finally get rid of her and be able to continue his life as before. He wants to meet with her again?
"I... y-yes, of course," she stutters, heart stammering inside her ribcage so wild and loud, she's almost sure he can hear it.
The extremely wide smile that splits his face in two hearing her answer makes it impossible for her not to mirror it, her own lips curving on their own accord. Fred, feeling the previous nervous shyness evaporate from his body and the always present confidence fill his vein up again, takes a step closer to her, then another until he's right beside the door, gently pushing it wider open again. (y/n)'s hand on the door handle inside goes limp, and she lets it fall down to hang loose beside her body as Fred steps inside.
When he's so close that she can feel the breath coming from his nose reach the skin of her face, his lips open again to let out a whisper. "Can I kiss you?"
The already abnormal rhythm her heart beats in gets even more uneven, and her head moves in a nod as she breathes out the word 'yes'. Fred's eyes sparkle up even more, and his hands slowly start moving up, one reaching out to gently caress her cheek whilst the other wraps around the small of her back. Slowly, extremely slowly he leans down, pausing for a second just before their lips could touch, and as a wave of impatience rushes through the girl, she raises her head and presses her lips against his.
Fred lets out a muffled chuckle at her eagerness before tilting his head and snaking his arm further around her torso to pull her flush against his own body, his hand that's resting on her cheeks moving slightly further back until his fingers completely disappear in her (y/h/c) locks, his lips moving passionately against hers.
She completely melts into his touch, feeling like she's floating in the air, as if she's only dreaming. But when they both run out of oxygen and pull away to fill their lungs again, their foreheads pressing against each other in search of support and their eyes connecting without problem, looking deep into his beautiful brown orbs (y/n) grows sure right away that it's truly reality, not just a dream.
"I love you," he breathes in-between his quiet pants, but it's enough to make (y/n) totally dizzy as a love-struck grin spreads across her face.
And in that very moment they both know that their story is just starting.
.::the end::.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coffee had been the right choice.
You felt for the poor guy in front of you, honestly. While the Barista spoke Japanese and a bit of English, he apparently spoke neither. He did speak Korean though, judging by the muffled commentary he was providing alongside his charades. You could work with that.
“Excuse me,” You greeted the pair, the english rolling of accented but understandable. You turned to the boy, “Hello, my name is ______. I can translate for you, If you would like?” He frantically nodded his head, rambling off his order. You nodded and turned towards the relieved Barista. “He would like a hot chocolate, please. Might I add on an iced coffee?” She nodded and you withdrew your wallet. The boy behind you seemed to realize what you were doing.
“Ah, there’s no need!” You waved him off, grinning behind your facemask.
“It’s no problem. It would be nice to speak Korean with someone for awhile, if you don’t mind? My friends have left me stranded,” You joked. He nodded, following you to some seats nearby.
“Thank you,” the boy said, giving you a bow.
“It’s cool, seriously. What brings you to Tokyo,” You asked. “If you don’t mind me asking, that is.”
“Me and my friends are headed to Hong Kong, but we had some stuff to do here first,” he explained. You nodded, laughing a bit at how evasive that answer was. Adjusting your facemask, you watched as he did the same. The two of you made eye-contact, hands frozen over your faces, before dissolving into laughter, the tension dissipating. “Why’d your friends leave you stranded?”
You placed a hand over your heart, “Ah yes, abandoned I tell you.” He snickered, motioning for you to continue. “You see, stranger, we dined in Wonderland and then they left! For an hour, our trio was king. Then Haru left, called away by her bossy boss. Eun-ha just abandoned me for the airport,” You gave a dramatic wail, much quieter than you wanted, but loud enough that a nearby table gave you an odd look. Your new friend seemed amused, choking on air as he curled into himself.
“Ah, I see why they left,” he joked, making you snort. You shook your head, giggling as you thanked the waitress for your drinks. Standing, you grabbed your camera bag, and his head lifted in interest. “You do photography?”
“Yep, and the occasional video. Photography though,” You gave a sage nod. He hurried out the door after you.
“Have you been doing it long?”
You shrugged, “I guess, yeah? I only started doing it professionally a few years ago. Always loved taking photos though.” You watched as he eyed your camera. “I’m going to take a few photos tonight - night photography is the bomb - if you want to join?” He nodded eagerly. You tried desperately not to equate his demeanor to that of a puppy, but those eyes were a weapon.
You lost the battle.
Spotting a street corner with just the right view, you tugged him over. “Okay,” you muttered, checking your camera over. “Alright, you seem nice, so I’m going to trust you. Please don’t drop my baby, she’s precious.” You nodded as he cradled her with reverence. He seemed a bit awkward, not completely used to the features as he turned it this way and that, but definitely not a newbie. “Take a few photos,” You urged.
“You don’t even know my name?”
“You don’t know mine either, but if it makes you feel better, I’m ____.” He gave you a blank look. “Please don’t drop my camera,” you added.
“I’m Tae-” He stopped, thinking for a moment. “Just Tae.”
“Okay then, Tae-ssi, if you would kindly point the camera that-a-way,” you instructed. “Now then, have you ever taken photos at night before?”
“No?”
“Sounds like you aren’t sure, so I’ll interpret that as a solid no. Alright, whenever you take a photo during the day, there’s a ton more light, right? So when you take a photo, the shutter speed on your camera is like, fractions of a second. There’s so much light, the camera doesn’t need lots of exposure time. Like how we see better in the day, make sense?” He nodded, brows furrowed as he watched you fiddle with the camera. “So, when you take a photo at night, your camera needs longer to pick up the light, so to speak. More exposure time, which means instead of super fast photos, it takes a bit longer. It’s not too hard to deal with when you get used to it, but,” You finished adjusting the tripod, “If the camera moves, the photo becomes blurry. Hence, our friend the tripod.” You guided him, helping him set up the camera.
“It’s like when our eyes adjust to the dark,” He clarified.
You nodded, “Exactly.” He danced around the camera, eyes sparkling, and you grinned. It was always nice seeing someone appreciate something they loved. The fact that it was something you also adored was a bonus. “Alright, you’re obviously pretty into photography,” You stated, grabbing his attention. “You ever consider doing something about that? I’m not saying professionally,” you cut him off, having heard the intake of breath, “but as a hobby or something.”
“I guess? I’m pretty busy, but it's really cool.” The longing look he gave your camera spoke for itself.
“I’ll tell you what, I’ll give you my Instagram and if you have any questions, you can message me.”
“Really?”
 You shrugged, “Why not?”
“Thank you- Ah, what do I call you? I was born in ‘95.”
“I’m your Noona then,” You cheered. “1994 for the win!”
Tae bowed low, “Thank you, Noona!” You flushed, flapping your hands. You weren’t sure, not with your facemasks still on, but you had a feeling you were on the receiving end of a particularly cheeky grin. Speaking of facemasks, with your hands no longer full, you lowered yours to take a sip of your coffee. You regretted getting iced, feeling shivers wrack your spine.
“Aish, I should have gotten hot chocolate like you,” you huffed, cheeks puffed up in a pout. Tae took that moment to look back up from the camera, freezing when he saw your face. “What?” You wiped your lips self-consciously, “Is there something on my face?”
“What’d you say your Instagram was, Noona?”
“Oh yeah,” you laughed awkwardly. Maybe you shouldn’t mention that you were distracted by his cheeky demeanor? “It’s _____Byeol.” He seemed to redden quickly, and you watched in fascination as his ears turned pink and then a glowing red. “You okay there?”
“Yeah, I just, wow! I follow your Instagram already,” he exclaimed. “Your photos are so-” He gestured wildly, excitement dancing in his eyes.
You grinned, “Really! That’s so cool! Wait, what’s yours? I can follow you back!” The deer-in-headlights look was back, you noticed with amusement.
“It’s, uh, it’s a secret?” You raised an eyebrow. “btsofficial,” he muttered.
“I’m sorry?”
“It’s BTS Official,” He repeated sheepishly. You watched as he lowered his face mask, a boxy smile on his face.
“BTS Official?” He nodded. You bit your lip, BTS, BTS… Where had you heard that? You snapped your fingers, “You guys did that one song, Dope, right?” The song had been popping up on your recommended for a while before you caved. “It’s pretty good! House of Cards is more my vibe, but yeah, I know you guys.” You shot him a smile, watching as his shoulders sunk in relief. You could understand why he had hesitated to introduce himself, being an idol and all. “Wait, you aren’t going to get in trouble for hanging out with me, right?”
“Um, No?”
“Your bandmates know where you are?” His blank stare was all the answer you needed, making you chuckle. “Text them, let them know you're alive! Your poor Hyungs,” you chastised mockingly. He fumbled with his phone, fingers tapping at the speed of sound. You watched as it began to vibrate in his hand, Taehyung shooting you a look of wide-eyed panic. With a sigh, you grabbed his phone, catching sight of the contact name before you answered.
“Wai-”
You smirked mischievously, “Hello, is this the, uh, God of Destruction?”

Crush // Shawn Mendes mini-series part 3
hope you are all well, here is part 3, enjoy! let me know what you think!
part 1 - part 2
masterlist
Tumblr media
I’m nervous. I haven’t felt like this for a long time. It’s the good kind of nervous, where my stomach is doing flips and I find myself smiling for no reason. Okay, this is not true, I have a reason. I’m actually very excited to have this nostalgia afternoon with Shawn.
“Oh, you have plans for today?” Dad asks when I walk downstairs and I’m not wearing my usual sweats. I chose to wear a pair of light washed ripped jeans that I intend to pair with my black boots. I have a white knitted turtleneck on and I’ll put on my black camel coat.
I join him and Mom in the living room as I still have about ten minutes before Shawn gets here.
“Yeah, I’m taking a walk with Shawn, we are going back to our school.”
“How nostalgic! Is it a date?” Mom grins at me suspiciously.
“It is not,” I roll my eyes. I go back to the hallway and grab my boots. Walking to the armchair I plop down and start putting them on.
“And does he think the same?” she asks nosily. I look up at her with an arched eyebrow.
“Stop playing Cupid, Mom.”
I stand up with a moan as I straighten up. As I’m reaching for my coat the doorbell rings. I see Mom getting up from the couch from the corner of my eye and I immediately turn to her.
“Stay where you are, Mother,” I warn her, making Dad just laugh and shake his head at us.
“Evelyn, let her be. She is an adult,” he says rubbing her hand.
“Yeah, listen to Dad,” I chuckle before opening the door and revealing Shawn.
He looks better than what I was expecting. He is wearing a plushy, fluffy jacket with a black hoodie under it and a pair of black skinny jeans with boots. His hair is a bit messy and his rosy cheeks makes him look adorable.
“Hey,” he smiles at me pulling his hands out of his pockets. “Are you ready?” he asks.
“Yeah, let’s go,” I say throwing my coat on and stepping out I close the door behind me.
The streets are empty, and if someone is around they don’t really care about us. As we head to the school I think about when was the last time he could walk down a street like this. I really have no idea what his life is like as a pop sensation.
“Is it hard?” I ask out of the blue.
“What?” he chuckles.
“Doing what you do. Being a famous singer. I can’t even imagine what it must be like, I’m not interested in this culture that much, so I have some very extravagant ideas about it,” I admit peeking at him.
“It’s… challenging. But I like it.” A small smile appears on his lips before he continues. “It’s very hard, sometimes I feel like I don’t have privacy at all, sometimes I feel like I’m on the top of the world. I’m just trying to go day by day so I don’t lose control.”
“Do you sometimes wish you never went viral on Vine?”
He takes a couple of moments to think before he shakes his head.
“All together, no. Sometimes, when I’m feeling very down I do, but I know how incredible this journey is and that others are dreaming of it for a lifetime, while I have everything. It’s just hard to remember where you came from and to keep yourself grounded. I don’t want to end up like a burnt out douche.”
“You’ve been doing great so far,” I smile at him dumping my shoulder against his arm gently.
“I guess,” he chuckles.
My sixteen year-old self would look at me with the most confused frown if I told her this day I would be walking around with Shawn Mendes, talking about anything and everything. I never thought this time would ever come, but now that it came, I’m happy. He is great company, has amazing stories but also an excellent listener. I genuinely feel like he is interested in what I’m saying and even though my stories are nowhere near as crazy as his, he still makes it feel like they are.
“Wow, I suddenly feel extremely old,” he laughs when we finally reach the school. The parking lot is empty, the windows are dark, the building is silently waiting for the students to return after the holidays.
“Right? I once came back because I needed to get a paper signed and everyone was so… young.”
“High schoolers are so different now. I mean, we were so different from them.”
We walk up the stairs and stop at the entrance, peeking inside the window, but all we see is the empty hallway.
“I personally was a weird teenager,” I mumble under my breath.
“It’s a weird phase for everyone. I mean, I wore diamond earrings, how embarrassing!”
“Oh I remember those,” I chuckle thinking back at that time. Those earrings looked so off, but he wore them proudly.
“Horrible choice,” he scoffs.
“Wild,” I comment jokingly, he just rolls his eyes. “Do you remember how Dylan always stood right there at the stairs and just… judged everyone who walked past?” I ask pointing inside, towards the staircase.
“I hated standing there with him, but I wanted to do what he was doing.”
“It was such a douche thing. I regret talking shit about people I didn’t even know,” I admit sighing. I didn’t like it back then either, but I thought I didn’t have a choice. I did. I should have just lest Dylan.
“Yeah.”
We take a walk in the parking lot and soon leave the school to just walk around aimlessly. In the meanwhile, Shawn tells me about his first ever shows. It’s crazy to hear what he was doing when I was stuck here.
“No wonder why you stopped coming back to school to us, your life was so much more exciting!”
“I… I wanted to come back,” he admits making my eyebrows raise.
“But?”
“”But… It was… Never mind,” he shakes his head as if he is trying to get rid of a thought, but now I’m too interested.
“Tell me!” I plead tugging on his arm. A hesitant sigh leaves his lips.
“I stopped coming back because… I didn’t want to see you and Dylan. I used my career as an excuse.”
“Did you really hate me that much?” I sigh pouting.
“No, it’s the opposite.”
I stop in the middle of the pavement and for a moment I think I heard him wrong.
“What do you mean opposite?”
He sighs running his fingers through his hair anxiously. I can’t tell if his face is red from the cold or from blushing.
“I kinda had a crush on you, Charlie. I know, I was very mean and rude, but you were my best friend’s girlfriend and I couldn’t like you. I wasn’t supposed to. So I thought I would make you hate me and then it would just go away.”
“Oh my God,” I whisper in disbelief. Mom was right. “Why… Why didn’t you tell me?”
“How would I tell my best friend’s girlfriend that I have a crush on her?” he chuckles and now that he said it, it makes sense.
“But… You could have just… I don’t know…” I stutter as I put the picture together.
All those mean comments, rude jokes, the way how he acted when I was around, it was all because he was trying to push me away from him so he didn’t have to worry about his feelings.
“It was stupid, but fifteen year-old me thought this is the only way. I’m sorry.”
“Now it all make sense now,” I chuckle shaking my head. “Is it still how you deal with crushes?”
“No, I’m way better now,” he laughs looking up at the sky.
“Well… I’m sorry I tried so hard to be friends with you, I didn’t know I was hurting you. I just really wanted to be friends with Dylan’s friends.”
“It’s fine. I didn’t know.”
 Shawn’s confession about his past feelings breaks the constant awkwardness that has been lingering around us. All pieces are in place and with this new information I can finally have peace. He didn’t hate me, after all. I guess this was what bothered me the most, I hated the thought that someone disliked me that much and tried my best to change it.
We reach a playground that was a popular spot for afternoon hangouts. We came here often, bought fast food and really just did nothing in particular before it was time to go home.
“I had my first kiss here,” I sigh sitting down to the end of the red slide as Shawn is kicking the dust next to me.
“Really? Was it Dylan?”
“Unfortunately, yes,” I roll my eyes. “It wasn’t even romantic, not like in a movies.”
“I don’t think anyone ever got a romantic first kiss, they are always so awkward.”
“True. Who was yours?”
I see a grimace on his face before he stops moving around in front of me, hiding his hands in his pockets. He places his weight on one of his legs as he stares down at me.
“It was Lauren.”
“Oh shit, I forgot about her!” I gasp laughing.
Shawn and Lauren dated for a while, they even went to prom together. I didn’t see much of him in those days, he was too occupied with Lauren.
“Yeah. I guess it’s not surprising to say that I only dated her so I didn’t think about you.”
“Did it work?”
“Um, for a while. But I guess it was because I didn’t really see you at that time.” He shrugs shaking his head to get a lock of hair out of his face. “But anyway, she was my first kiss. We were on a date and I was very nervous, but not because of her, but because I knew I had to kiss her. I was afraid that I would suck at it and maybe she would start laughing at me, which is just… ridiculous.”
“That’s cute!” I sigh dreamily. Standing up I climb up on the slide so now I’m looking down at him. “I wish kissing was all I had to worry about these days.”
“Would be easier, yeah.”
I start roaming around on the top of the slide, looking around I see farther from here, the Sun is about to disappear on the horizon, painting the sky a gentle pink at the bottom. The city is too far to outshine the stars that are coming out to shine through the night. I always liked living here, it was calm enough, but we also had everything in a reachable distance.
I turn away from the sky and see that Shawn has his phone in his hands, the camera is pointing at me and I immediately turn away.
“No, it got blurry!” he pouts at me.
“Why did you take a photo of me?” I ask going down on the slide.
“Because…” he turns the phone to me and shows me the photo.
You can’t really see me on the photo, just my silhouette, my side profile is pretty good. Behind me the pink sky is turning into dark blue with a few shiny stars, and honestly, this looks like a cool Tumbr photo people would definitely reblog.
“Can I post it? I won’t tag you, don’t worry,” he asks.
“Yeah, I like it,” I smile at him and watch him open the photo on his Instagram and caption in.
shawnmendes: Nostalgia walks are pretty awesome.
“Won’t you get in trouble for posting it?” I ask as he uploads it and closes the app immediately, not even bothering to look at the likes and comments.
“Trouble? Why would I get into trouble?” he chuckles.
“I don’t know, isn’t everything you post perfectly planned?”
“You are so delusional about my life,” he sighs grinning at me. “I can post what I want.”
“Sorry, I told you I know nothing about famous people’s life!” I say with an innocent look.
It’s almost seven when we head home. I’m actually disappointed we have to end this evening soon, I enjoyed his company and I’m already thinking of an excuse to see him again, but I have nothing rational in mind.
“Thanks for the walk, I loved it.”
We stop at our house and I turn to him before going inside.
“I liked it too.”
I smile up at him and I catch myself thinking about an excuse to see him again. I don’t even know how long he is staying in the city, if he is leaving soon or celebrating the new year here.
“Um, do you have any plans for New Year’s Eve?” he asks nervously scratching the back of his neck.
“Not really.”
“I’m having a little get together at my place, I thought you might want to come, or something. I’m inviting some old friends too, so you might see some familiar faces.”
“Your place?” I ask furrowing my eyebrows.
“Oh yeah. I have an apartment in the city. I only stay at my parents’ during Christmas, so I’m going back there tonight.”
“Oh, got it. Well, I would love to go, thanks,” I say trying not to sound too excited. He doesn’t have to know how happy I am I get to see him again.
“Great! I’ll… text you about the details later.”
“Okay, thanks,” I smile at him.
Saying his goodbye he leans closer and pulls me into a short half hug that I return gladly.
Arriving home I immediately go up to my room and call Maddi.
“Spill the tea, bitch,” she snorts into the phone making me laugh. “How was your little nostalgia date with the hot popstar?”
“It wasn’t a date,” I roll my eyes, but the smile on my face just wouldn’t go away.
“Yeah, whatever. So?”
“It was… amazing, Maddi. Really. He is so smart and nice and funny, I think… Maddi I think I’m falling for him.”
“I knew it!” She screams into the phone. “I knew you would fall for him! Good for you, now you gotta jump him the next time you see him.”
“Slow down,” I chuckle. “I’m spending New Year’s Eve at his place though.”
“Wow, okay a kiss at midnight, I stan this romantic shit.”
“Who said it will be any romantic?”
“Girl, I haven’t seen the two of you in the same room yet, but I’m pretty sure he is still into you.”
I open my mouth to say something, but then I start thinking. Talking about his past crush on me he said it kinda went away when we weren’t seeing each other. Does this mean he is totally over me now that we haven’t met for years?
“Um, I think he is over me,” I mumble under my breaths.
“That’s nonsense, but elaborate.”
A sad sigh slips through my lips as I run my hand through my hair.
“We talked about his crush on me, and he made sure it faded once we didn’t see each other for a longer time. Now, I think we can consider these past about three years a long time. No crush lasts that long.”
“Who is talking about crushes? Charlie, it’s not highschool anymore. It’s not about childish crushes, it’s about finding a partner, a guy you love and who loves you back. Don’t mistaken crush to love.”
“Then it’s even worse, no way he is in love with me.” “Not now, maybe, but he must be falling for you.”
I don’t believe her. I don’t want to be the naïve little girl who falls for the star just because he had some nice words to me. I know, my history with Shawn is longer, we go way back, but I won’t make myself believe he could be into me and then end up broken hearted when he leaves town and never contacts me again.
“I won’t fall this easily, Maddi. Oh shit, what if he’ll start flirting with a girl at the party and I’ll end up looking like a fool?”
“Okay, listen. I’m going back to Toronto the day before New Year’s Eve. If you want, I can go with you so you feel less awkward if something bad happens.”
“That would be amazing,” I exhale relieved. “Then ask him if I can come along and don’t stress about the rest, okay? I don’t want to find you like a total wreck when I return.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine,” I chuckle shortly.

Tangled Webs (Part 2)
Fandom: The Flash
Rating: G
Summary: When Ralph confronts the youngest Team Flash member about the powers she’s been hiding, Parker has to confess she’s been moonlighting despite the ever-present danger of DeVoe. (Ralph’s POV)
A/N: Here’s part 2 of Tangled Webs. A lot of parts, especially towards the end, are the same, but it’s the same discussion, just from Ralph’s POV. I do have other ideas for this, including a training scene. Because it’s going to be hard to train an energetic spider-kid in the basement of Star Labs.
Tumblr media
              “-still have a couple of hours of clean up to do and you have that history test tomorrow.” Ralph looked up as he and Cisco walked into the Cortex from training. Parker was shoving her homework in her backpack as Barry offered to run her home. Her eyes shifted to the clock on the screen briefly then shook her head.
           “Nah, I’ve got band practice. Jo said they would meet me at Jitters. Thanks anyway.” The team seemed to agree with the statement, but Ralph looked at her with suspicion. Parker told him she’d quit the band because the pressure to keep up her grades was too much. He only remembered because he offered to help her with her history. She’d taken him up on it and came to him whenever she needed it.
           Why was she lying about a school activity she’d dropped?
           “At least let me run you there,” Barry insisted, pulling Ralph from his thoughts. Parker agreed on that and waved as she left on Barry’s footsteps.
           Leaning against the wall, he let the others provide a backdrop as they bounced around ideas to stop DeVoe as he thought over Parker. Ever since he’d gotten to know the kid, he’d known she was a good kid. Good student, funny sense of humor, compassionate, and still somehow managed to have an innocence with how dark the world could be.
          But the past couple of months, Parker had become…shifty. At first, he figured it was because she was a teenager. Teenagers were shifty and did stupid shit. Several of his P.I. cases had been going after missing teens, only to find them two counties over, getting in over their head. Skipping school, drinking, and keeping secrets was what a lot of teenagers did. He was willing to let Parker be a little shifty and let Joe know if he thought she was getting in over her head.
          When Parker’s shiftiness took on a pattern, he took notice.
           First, it was remembering Black Bison when he’d been hypnotized. He’d also remembered a teenage girl failing to sneak on board the bus. At the time, she seemed frantic enough that he took pity and came up with a bullshit story of her being his niece and taking her to school. He added her fee to his IOU and made her take the seat next to the window.
           Then Parker started leaving the Cortex at four-thirty nearly every afternoon. She cited band practice, study group, library trip, other “good kid” excuses that everyone – including him - fell for. It didn’t take long for her to start looking exhausted and overwhelmed. She struggled with her grades. He once spotted a bruise covering an eighth of her back and ribs, but she waved it off as running into the door. One morning she came in, rolling her shoulders as though she was sore from running track.
           She wasn’t in track.
           “She quit the band,” he mumbled around his thumbnail, not realizing he was thinking out loud.
           “What was that, Ralph?” Ralph’s head snapped up so fast, he felt his neck stretch oddly. Grimacing, he set his neck back to a normal position and found the team staring at him expectantly.
           “What was what?” he asked.
           “What did you say?” Barry repeated, having run back from dropping off Parker a while ago. Ralph glanced at the clock on the screen: 3:30 pm. Parker had been gone for thirty minutes.
           “Sorry, zoned out thinking about a case,” he said truthfully.
           Just then, an alarm sounded in the Cortex. “Robbery in progress at 31st and Collins,” Iris reported. Before even Barry could do anything, the alarms stopped and Iris was staring at the screen, confused.
           “What is it?” Barry asked, leaning over her shoulder. Ralph moved to look over Cisco’s as he pulled up the camera in front of a pawn shop. Everyone watched as a black and white hooded figure swung into the scene and webbed the two would-be robbers. The meta was small and agile, easily lifting the robbers and carrying them off the CCPD.
           “Local spider-meta got there first,” Cisco said, impressed.
           “Still can’t get a beat on them?” Barry asked. Cisco shook his head.
           “Nothing. I scoured the records of all the metas that popped up on my alerts since the accelerator explosion. None of them have Spider-Man capabilities.”
           “Maybe they came in from a different city?” Caitlin asked, but Cisco was already shaking his head again.
           “Nope. I extended my search to meta DNA as far as New York and Arizona. Nothing.” He gestured to the screen. “This kid just came out of nowhere and started doing small-time hero stuff.”
           Ralph blinked and straightened. “You mean this meta hasn’t been around before?” he asked. The others turned toward him, looking mildly shocked that he asked.
           “No,” Caitlin said softly. “They only showed up a month or so after the bus accident.” She looked at Cisco. “Maybe another bus meta?” Cisco shook his head.
           “Only nine people were on that bus. Unless…”
           “Unless there was a tenth person we missed on that bus,” Harry finished. “We need to go over the bus footage and records again.”
           Ralph stared at the blurry screenshot of a familiar white and black suit, accent with a gray hooded jacket. His mind whirled as he arranged and pieced together his thoughts. The teenager on that bus…Parker being shifty…leaving the Cortex at a certain time…the spider-meta showing up in cameras thirty minutes later…Parker coming in with bruises and exhausted the next day…Parker lying about band practice…
           As everything clicked into place, ice-cold panic flooded Ralph’s veins. Straightening up too quickly, he tripped over his feet and stretched to catch himself on the floor. Cisco reached to help him, but he brushed it off and stretched his arm to grab his jacket.
           “Ralph, what’s wrong? You okay?” Barry asked.
           “Yeah, yeah,” Ralph waved off as he backed towards the door. “Just might’ve figured out something with my case and I need to hit up a couple of contacts. I’ll check in later. Bye!”
           Forgoing the elevator, he found the stairs and stretched himself up to the level needed for the parking lot. Once he made it to his car, he pulled out his phone to check the time. It was 3:40 pm. He needed to track down Parker, but first, he needed to make sure he was right.
           Or in this case, hope he was wrong.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~
           Ralph stared up in awe at the partially constructed skyscraper. Pulling off his mask and shielding his eyes from the setting sun, he could see what looked like a hammock of some sort constructed between two steel support beams, swinging gently in the breeze.
           It turned out he was right after all. While it took him an hour to track down some shady contacts who came across the spider-meta, it took a far shorter time to figure out where Parker had gone. All he had to do after was follow the trail of webbing she made. Okay, so it wasn’t that easy, he amended to himself as he began to stretch himself onto the skyscraper. He did run into a lot of old webbing in alleyways and over buildings. It was still terrifying how easily he could track her down.
           It would take DeVoe only minutes.
           Shaking that thought from his head, he instead focused on the teenager he was confronting. Barry would go for a lecture, Harry would start yelling, and Joe would be disappointed. Parker would shut down at every single turn and continue moonlighting. He would have to handle this his way.
           At least she had good taste in scenic landscapes for heart-to-hearts.
           “Gotta say, you found yourself a pretty great view, kiddo.” Parker’s shadow moved as she tried to find the source of his voice. Both knew it was him; he was the only person Parker allowed to call her “kiddo”. Forcing himself to not look down, he stretched himself up onto the support platform next to her hammock. “Take it you’re not afraid of heights?”
           “Never,” Parker admitted softly. “How much trouble am I in?”
           "Depends." He gestured towards the web hammock and she nodded. He stretched himself slowly onto the hammock, making sure it would hold both their weights. Parker didn’t seem worried, but he’d flipped too many hammocks to be cautious. "Does the team know you were on that bus?" he asked, settling himself on the other side. She picked at a stray thread on her jacket.
          "No," she whispered. Ralph watched as guilt and shame filled her. He didn’t have to be a psychic to know she knew with DeVoe looking for the bus metas, she should’ve told the team. She risked a glance at him, then looked away, unable to keep eye contact for long.
         "What were you doing on that bus that morning?" he asked gently.
          "That was the morning everyone was trying to get Barry out of the Speedforce." She glanced at Ralph again, who nodded for her to continue. "I wanted to be there, but Joe made me go to school, nonetheless. Said it was better if I just went to keep my mind off what was going on. But I couldn't stop thinking of being able to see Barry again, so after homeroom, I kinda..."
          "Ditched?" Ralph supplied. Parker nodded. "And hoofed it to the nearest bus stop and tried to sneak on?"
          "I forgot my money pouch at home." She caught his eye for a moment and smiled crookedly. Ralph smirked as she recalled the memory.  "I still owe you three dollars, huh?"
         "Buy me a coffee and we're even," he joked. "And the powers?"
         "There was a spider crawling on your bag when you were dozing. I meant to get it off, but the bus jerked and the spider bit me just as dark matter flooded in."
          "Whaaaat?" Ralph gasped. "You mean you actually got bit by a radioactive spider?" Parker giggled and nodded. "Oooh, I'm so jealous! Wait, what happened to the spider?" Parker cringed.
          "Accidentally squished it." Ralph's lips curled up, disgusted for a moment. "How did you find me?"
           "When Barry and Iris had me hypnotized, I remembered you a little more clearly," he explained. "At first, I thought you were being a teenager about school and quitting the band, but your routine became a little too predictable" he pulled out his phone and pulled up a YouTube clip of the mystery spider meta swinging past and waving. Parker noted it was taken a couple of months ago, shortly after her powers manifested. "Coupled with the routine of that mysterious spider meta swinging around, it didn’t take long to put it together." Parker handed him back his phone.
          "That doesn't explain how you found me." Ralph gestured at the webbing to the building.
         "You leave a trail, kiddo." She blushed and picked at her backpack again. He nudged her to get her to look up. His expression was worried, bordering on panic. "An extremely easy one too. If I could follow you halfway across Central City, what makes you think Devoe couldn't either? The man had a flying chair and is now taking over metas. It would be terrifyingly easy for him and we wouldn't know until it was too late."
           Parker fell silent, tears threatening to fall as she sat up to look at the bay. Ralph gave her some space to think and get her words together. When she wiped her nose on her sleeve, he sat up and waited for her to talk.
           "I'm sorry," she whispered. “Even though I knew lying about being on the bus would have disappointed everyone, I thought that if I could prove how good of a superhero I am, they wouldn't yell at me." She scrubbed at the tears that kept falling. "By the time we knew Devoe's intentions, I was in too deep. I just wanted to ignore the danger and keep doing what I was doing."
         With a heavy sigh, Ralph reached up and wrapped an arm around the teen's shoulders in a hug. "I get it. I know what it's like to feel you live in someone’s shadow and want to prove yourself." He rested his chin on top of her head and sighed. "And the thing is, you have. I've seen the footage. You help people and relate to them. They love you, way more than Elongated Man." Parker looked up, surprised to hear the bitterness in his voice.
        "People think you're cool too, Ralph," she insisted. "I think it's cool how you can stretch and stuff." Ralph grinned, looking both surprised and pleased at the compliment. She sighed, staring at the sunset. "They’re going to be pretty pissed, huh?"
        "Oh, no doubt.” At the dejected slump of her shoulders, he hugged her again. "But I withheld crucial bus meta information too. I'll take on some of that anger for you." She looked up, surprised.
         "Really?"
         "Really. I can take it. Besides, we're a team now, right? I'll stand beside you." Parker grinned and hugged Ralph tightly around the middle. He laughed softly. Noting the sun was pretty much set, he pulled back. "Come on, break down this webbing and we'll pick up some Big Belly Burger to sweeten their tempers."
        "Are we going to drive there?" she asked, packing up her stuff. Ralph scoffed and put his mask back on.
        "When we have a faster mode of travel? There's a Big Belly on the corner of 31st and Park. Race ya there?"
         She grinned wider and pulled her mask down and hood up. "Best swinger pays for dinner?" she asked, spider-crawling up the metal framework. Ralph grimaced, pulling his own mask back over his eyes. Parker didn’t quite understand the double innuendo as she found the right jump-off point. Once tempers cooled, he and Cisco would have to work on some more appropriate Web-Slinger terminology.
           "Yeah, I could go with that. Ready...set..."
           "Ralph?"
            "Yeah?"
             "You're not just my teammate. You're my big brother too."
           Ralph blinked, feeling like the air had been punched from his chest. His lungs felt like they were squeezed as a long-forgotten emotion bubbled up inside him. It had been a long time since he felt like he belonged somewhere. Clearing his throat, he nodded, not trusting his voice for a moment. “You might soon regret giving me that title, kiddo,” he finally said.
           He chuckled when she lifted her mask enough to stick her tongue out at him. “You gotta catch me first. Ready…set…GO!”
With Domicile’s Conclusion:
I’m writing a wrap-up of sorts here, explaining all the lore and background info for the series (and where it might go?) in a fully transparent manner. Don’t read this if you want to puzzle some of it out first after finishing the series. I’m posting the art assets I drew at the bottom too.
Prepare for a long one.
1. Series Lore
First off, the most important thing. Raven is not a true “Player.” I categorize Players as beings separate from mobs that sorta just, appear (though they all have their own backstories). They have a lot of power at their fingertips. They can manipulate the world drastically, travel between worlds, and set up worlds as “hubs” (servers) for others to gather in. The existence of a Player influences the world around them. Worlds are literally made for Players, and can barely exist without them.
So what happens when a world lacks a Player? Well. Mob AI is fundamentally changed, for one. They do not aggro on beings that aren’t mobs unless provoked. Therefore, all hostile mobs ignore Raven’s existence because they are not recognized as anything worth paying attention to. Things also got messy and the world deferred a sort of “awakening” to those of the highest “power,” Evokers, in order to try and pick up the slack in a way. (Though the world doesn’t have thoughts, I’m just personifying it for ease of explanation.)
Evokers in Raven’s world have a higher “sense of self,” and in doing so took on a fraction of Player abilities (building/exploration/crafting skill and world manipulation). Many of them banded together into the Evoker Collective to try and figure out what’s going on with the world. There are legends of “Players” that all sapient mobs know, and yet....there is no trace of one...
Eventually, one such Evoker got the idea to try and MAKE a Player, or at least, create an entity that could try to fill the void. Enter our dear shapeshifter. Unfortunately, Raven either accidentally killed both their creator and work partner in their eldritchy infancy without realizing, or scared the two off for good. I’m leaving that for others to decide. Thankfully they started learning life lessons from passive mobs and ended up in a village in a form where they were mistaken for an actual Player and could learn about it.
Secondly, in a broken world, the connection between the dimensions is super fragile. This is why Raven didn’t get any dimension-related advancements. They don’t exist. All knowledge regarding the Nether and the mobs within was left vague or nonexistent and Evokers had to figure it out themselves. At most, villagers know of a far off place that is very warm and red. And they know of a hard, purple rock, that when made into an upright square...does something... Only Evokers actually ended up getting there.
When it comes to the End, that’s a complete mystery, though they did find a stronghold containing a portal. Unfortunately, they didn’t know enough about Endermen (named “Warpers” instead) to figure out the whole deal with the frame.
There is no Enderdragon. With no Player to defeat her, she does not exist, nor do her pillars, her crystals, or her egg. And with no dragon to defeat, there are no End Cities. The only thing that exists is the anchor point, the bedrock fountain.
IN COME CYAN AND GREEN: residents of The Liminal, the space between worlds and dimensions. You know that dirt screen you see whenever Minecraft is loading, showing an error message, looking through options, playing the credits, etc.? That’s a place. You can fully enter it only after hopping into the fountain the first time in a world. All those other times you’re kinda just a blip.
It’s implied in my custom End Poem that it is possible to acclimate yourself to The Liminal better and eventually stay there without being pulled away. Furthermore, it is being said that Raven has the possibility to join the ranks of Cyan and Green since Raven’s also somewhat detached from the universe (due to being made from its own cracks). However, that will take, like, hundreds to thousands of years.
Cyan and Green gave Raven a boon after being impressed by their ability to be, well, a person. They gave them the knowledge and ability to world-hop, like Players, so Raven can now go to other worlds as well as servers and isn’t stuck in a broken one, hooray! All the other worlds they visit will be actually made for Non-mob Beings, so there’s proper mob aggro, regular dimension stuff, etc. There’s gonna be a violent few lessons Raven’s gonna have to learn fast. Good thing the other ability that Cyan and Green gave Raven was the ability to respawn in other worlds. Yep! Raven was unknowingly in hardcore mode this whole time and didn’t realize there was anything different!
Despite getting a slight power boost, Raven is still unable to shapeshift properly. They can only get forms slightly right. They worked really hard to maintain their zombie mimicry at this level of finesse (even if it isn’t perfect), so they’re unlikely to change shape unless it’s necessary or accidental. People are more receptive to Raven in this form, after all. This is my excuse for why Raven doesn’t shapeshift in-game at any time....there are no mods for this.
2. Out of Character Stuff
Here’s a previous OOC post I made regarding some of the filming stuff.
Domicile was always meant to be Raven’s backstory. It’s something I could point to when people might go: “What’s their story?” It was just for fun, but I put a lot of work into it, and it has felt very rewarding. For example, I’d been trying to figure out how to present the flashback of episode 6 and the custom End Poem for episode 7 for aaaages and getting those all settled has been great.
If you’re wondering why I have silent moments for montages in my videos and didn’t see the answer anywhere else, there were times where it just didn’t work out to use the webcam microphone I was borrowing, or said microphone messed up the audio (I’m FINALLY getting a replacement mic in a few weeks). At a certain point I decided it was a feature to have montages with only in-game sounds. Like, asmr or something.
None of the mods I installed changed generation. Everything that looks different from vanilla I made happen in creative mode. I made the mini-mansion in the roofed forest, the temple topper and stairs for the stronghold, fixed up Hometown to be nicer, and got rid of all the obsidian End pillars with creative mode punches. The pillars still stick out of the bottom of the island, I couldn’t be bothered to do that too. ( >3>)
One of my rules for the RP was to keep all knowledge in-universe. Raven had to only know things they could conceivably find out from villagers or their books. (And sometimes they just straight up forgot some of it.) After this, there’s gonna be a time skip where Raven learns a whole bunch of Minecraft basics from faceless Players. So in the future I won’t have to pay quite as much attention to what gets called its proper in-game name or not.
Also I had to hold back from singing any real life song lyrics to myself and I couldn’t give anything a name that alludes to our world. The orange tower is called Traffic Cone in my head but Raven can only call it a tower. That sort of thing I can be way more lenient with from now on.
I want to make future RP content with my character, but I have no friends who are fitting that particular niche to roleplay with me for a multiplayer series. I’m keeping an eye out for potential roleplay servers and such for outside of video RP. But at this point, I think that if I am to make a multiplayer video series, I’m gonna have to wait for someone to approach me with an offer.
Though, I’m still gonna post art of the character here, no doubt.
By the way, since this is working as an archive of sorts, here’s the link for the written piece that started me on the track to making the series. I’m thinking of changing the canon time Raven spent wandering around the tundra thinking they were a mob to be a bit while longer than a day.
More stuff involving my Minesona can be found under the #Domicile tag, but later I’m just gonna tag all new stuff as just #minesona.
3. Art Assets
Here are the assets I made for the videos, excluding the blurry picture of the Evokers, that one’s kinda not worth much, lol. I’ve posted the first two elsewhere, but thought this would be a good archive.
The title card:
Raven falling from The Liminal, losing their form a bit after Green and Cyan’s influence and Raven’s emotional bewilderment:
(You can really tell that I loosely traced a reference photo of someone falling, lol. I have no shame, this pose rocks.)
Tumblr media
For fun, here’s the skin I use! I didn’t make it, but I’ve used it for years, so it’s me now. >:)
Here’s the Skindex link.
Once again, thank you all so much for anyone who watched the series. Every view means a lot to me. I’m so happy that people watched my stuff and liked it. Thanks for reading this! <3
Kwave 3 Experience
Hiii~ This was a post that was supposedly posted long ago but I got caught up in college so yeah. Anyway this was my experience attending the event so bear in mind that this was solely my opinion :)
READ : This experience will mainly focus on Monsta X but I’ll include my general impression of the other idols performing as well.
Attending Kwave 3 is my second time attending Kpop events for this year of 2018. Fortunately enough I was able to attend this event because of Monsta X (multifandom stans can relate lmao) but kudos to the organiser for being so attentive and detailed to ensure the event ran smoothly. A lil’ bit of tea: The venue of #Kwave3MusicFestival  is the one where Twiceland in Malaysia was supposedly held but was CANCELLED AT VERY LAST MINUTE (less than 24 hours) by the organiser due to a supposedly stage setting and production mishap(?) so everyone was really disappointed (and scared) if the same thing happens again. TwiceLandInMalaysia’s organiser is also infamous for the #WannaBelovedInKL mishap – basically they’re the shittiest and worst organiser ever! (Note: Kwave 3 and Twice’s organisers are different)
Tumblr media
Fast forward to the concert day itself. I arrived at the concert venue around 4pm+ because the weather was a bit gloomy on that day itself and went to explore the booths around the area to kill some time. I brought my Shownu memes placards as a substitute because I didn’t have the official lightstick (sad life of a broke fangirl) and also I wanted him to know he is loved (he deserves all the love in this world).  Anyway,  if any of you happened to see a girl wearing red flannel walking around with her Shownu memes high chances are it’s probably me lmao XD
So this was my seat’s view~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A compulsory pic of the ticket hehe!
Tumblr media
This were the Shownu placard memes that I made last minute (hopefully Shownu saw them haha)
Around 7.50pm the screen while replayed the adverts turned pitch black and that’s when we were all getting reallllyyyy excited because the event was gonna start soon and BAM! The MC came out (I forgot his name sorry) and started introducing the artists who were going to perform. I had this teeny tiny bit that WJSN would be the first one to perform and I was right. Then the girls came on stage and started the show with Dreams Come true. I didn’t really know all the members but I recognised EXY, Yeonjung, Dawon, Seola and Bona. There were only 10 members that night (minus the Chinese members) and that was really unfortunate because I had wanted to see ChengXiao on stage as well . Next they performed Secret which was among the songs I liked from them and a few other songs which I’m not really familiar with (sorry). Oh and during the ment they attempted to speak in Bahasa Malaysia which was really cute haha. Yeonjung and Dayoung came to my area frequently and they were really cute and very interactive with the fans (they looked like little fairies hahaha) Surprisingly during this one song I can actually hear the backtrack playing which I think wouldn’t be necessary for the girls to lipsync because I know how capable Yeonjung and Dawon is to belt out their high notes  Then Jung Sewoon (Ponyo!) came in after and wow, this guy really gave out that sweetheart, fluffy vibes. Those who watched Produce 101 Season 2 would know how much of a sweetheart he really is and boii, he really is a total sweetheart. During Just U he was also rapping to the rapper’s part which were really cute and hilarious because even the crowd was hyping him XD. I’m actually glad because the crowd were really supportive of regardless whoever was performing on stage. He sang live because I can actually really hear his voice which was really soothing T__T
Tumblr media
Seola looked so pretty and so does the other WJSN members as well TT
And then AOA came on stage next :O When AOA’s video came out, all the fanboys were screaming hahaha rip my ears again. They started off with Bingle Bangle and I couldn’t take my eyes off Seolhyun. She.Is.A.Literally.A.Walking.Goddess. But unfortunately Mina was sick that night (as told by Jimin) so she wasn’t able to attend the event. HyeJeong also caught my attention sobs they were all so pretty in real life! Among the songs they performed were Excuse Me,Mini Skirt, Like A Cat, Bing Bing and Heart Attack. Boyfriend were the next performer after AOA. To be very honest, I was kinda worried of the crowd reaction since I didn’t really see a lot of Boyfriend fans but to my surprise, the crowd were really hyping them so thank goodness! Star was the first song they performed, and it was such a soothing song for me. They also performed I’ll Be There, Witch and ended with I-Yah. I was only a casual fan of them so it was nice bobbing my head to their songs lmao. Oh, and when they were doing their ment the leader said it was such a great opportunity to be able to spend their 7th year with the K-wave crowd. My heart kinda wretched when he said that (Starship why’d you do this they had so much potential T__T), also I didn’t know how to differentiate the twins (Youngmin and Kwangmin) albeit them having different hairstyles kekeke. They were all sweethearts too sigh T_T.
Tumblr media
Eventhough the picture was blurry but Seolhyun really took my attention that night (GURL WAS GLOWING THAT NIGHT)
Tumblr media
I thought that Monsta X were up next but EXID came on stage!!! Too bad Solji were still not in a good condition so there were only four of them on stage, but they still rocked the performance. They performed Lady first and Hyerin came out few seconds late because she was stuck with the curtain opening lmao usually it’s Hani who would be doing all the funny things. I certainly caught Hani laughing midway performing due to Hyerin haha. L.E’s rap was bomb! She was literally oozing girl crush vibes (lovelovelove). Junghwa was really glowing that night and she caught my attention although Hani is my favourite but Hani was being her usual dorky self (hehe) and Hyerin is really pretty if you see her in real life! They were really enjoying performing that night, and they performed Hot Pink, Up and Down, Night Rather Than Day, and DDD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Monsta X came up next! Click here~
And FT Island were the final performer of the night. I was only a casual fan of them so my knowledge on their songs were a bit lacking-but I enjoyed their performance nevertheless. Some of the songs that I liked were Champagne and Pray which they also performed so thumbs up! Hongki’s voice was powerful enough to bring back the energy to the crowd because it was getting late and pretty much everyone was drained out due to excessive yelling and screeching earlier haha. During their ment, Hongki said they were really glad to be able to perform here in Malaysia as from what I was concerned, they were supposed to have a concert here back in 2011 but it was cancelled unfortunately :( And I can’t remember what song they performed but at one time, the background music were playing too loud and even Hongki looked a little uncomfy because we couldn’t really hear Hongki’s voice TT. Then they bid goodbye to the crowd, even said goodnight and to take care because it was getting quite late. I thought that during the ending, all artists would come out together and bid goodbye to the fans together but I guess it’s too late so they decided to just end the show :((( And, then, it was the goodbye that parted all of us.
So, basically I did not regret at all being one of them who got the chance to attend this event because honestly, this event was wayyyy better than my first Kpop event (READ: Wanna One’s Fanmeet in Malaysia) Kudos and thumbs up to the awesome organiser Macpiepro for making the event as smooth as possible :) I hope you enjoyed reading this btw!
12/3/2017
Day 2 of Davis tournament
Once again we left for the gym around 8am. It was funny when we got there because we walked in as a group and some girl at the check in table was like “Excuse me you need to check in.” I said we already did yesterday and kept walking. And she’s like “oh you have to do it again today” and I replied with “Someone will do it for us” and kept walking. Now that I think about it, it was kinda rude LOL. Our team was laughing cause Thinh, the guy from yesterday’s dinner, was like damn Derrick literally just shut that girl down like she has no say in anything. Oops :P
Doubles day! I was excited for this because it’s my strength. Van and I first started playing our entire B flight, which only consisted of 2 matches. We started off against Max Kam and Dexter Vu. Van said he has never beaten Max before and that his arm is a cannon. I feel like Max and Dexter weren’t warm yet because we beat them fairly easily in 2 games. Next we played Calvin Dai and Tim Tong, who actually ended up winning BMD. Gdi Tim is, even though by small increments, getting better every time I see him. Van and I call him “The Gatling Gun” because once he hits 1 drive, he keeps pushing forward with rapid drive shots and nothing will get past him. Like it is nothing I have ever seen before. Calvin would literally take like 10 steps every rally because he either starts with a smash followed by Tim’s drives or Tim’s drives are so pressuring that someone lifts and Calvin kills it. Stupid strong pair.
I won CMD! But this was a disappointing victory if I may say so. We “played” 5 matches to win first. Destroyed some nobody’s in the first round who somehow beat Lawrence Chen if you remember who he is. 2nd round we played Pho Ly if that name rings a bell. Never played him but I’ve definitely heard of that name at our tournaments. All the D men’s players on our team was like dude you have to beat this guy. Prove that he isn’t a B player like most people say he is. And show him that his smash isn’t as hard as people say. It was funny cause once we got on the court, Pho and his partner asked Van if I speak Viet in Viet…and then they started having their own convo. Would have been miserable if they started counting score in Viet too LOL. Super intense game and my hardest match of the day. The entire team watched us win 14-21, 21-12, 23-21. I mean I threw my racket at the end so you get the idea. Quarters we played Tommy Chiu and Matthew Hsieh. Their drive game was troubling for us especially with Tommy’s fast cut offs and Matt covering in the back. 2-0 them.
Semi-finals, the one I think you’re happy to hear, was against Anjo and Patrick Tsai. Literally one of the most disappointing matches I have ever played in my years of badminton. It ranks up there with my NCS with Chris against Robert and Justin from Logan. 21-2 and 21-10. Like we had a score conflict in the first game and we won the argument making it 5-1 and then next thing I knew they got a point making it 2-18. Before 2nd game, I spoke to Danae in Canto that we won 21-2 and she was like WTF and everything in Canto. Thinh who was sitting next to her looked super lost so Van spoke to him in Viet and we all started laughing LOL. 2nd set they showed why they lost. They are good individuals but a horrible pair with no chemistry and communication. Patrick is left-handed. Considering that these 2 play together so often, I would expect better rotation. Van just kept pushing left and right and they kept crashing into each other. He also told me to just keep smashing to the middle and their rackets kept clashing.
Finals, we played Max and Dexter again. That was short lived. They pushed themselves so hard in semi against James and John (the twins) that Dexter collapsed with a cramp after 4 points. I offered him rest time, Gatorade, and even said we have PT people with rollers who can help. They forfeit in the end as we predicted. And that’s how I walked away with a 1st place LOL check out the pics tho. Too bad the one with Randy is somewhat blurry but I thought it’s pretty nice.
After we left Davis, we went to BJ’s. Almost an hour wait because we were waiting for another group of 25 to leave and they were just chilling. Some people wanted to drink such as Van and Peter. Van I didn’t say anything because he’s driving alone. Peter said he’s ordering something if Van is and I’m like aren’t you driving. He said just 1 and I’m like but there are people in your car. And he’s like that’s true and took it back…Daniel Wong ended up being the only person who ordered a beer and shared it with some people. I ordered a prime rib and my god this is actually the saddest steak I have ever eaten. I ordered medium rare and I think it came out medium well. Chewy and dry and I have never had a steak over-seasoned. Super salty. At least the monkey bread pizookie I had in the end was good. Oh yea! After we ordered our drinks, Randy and I saw our waitress, who was super nice, sip one of the drinks she was putting on the tray and took it to our table…not sure who’s it was but that was awkward LOL. I also secretly told the waiter that it’s actually Thinh’s bday in a few days and was wondering if we could include something for him. He was super surprised wit his pizookie and also said kinda gave a thank you speech before we got into our cars to head home. I actually found out his bday at the HK cafe but he said to keep it down because he didn’t want everyone knowing…I hope he wasn’t upset or offended in anyway but I just wanted to do something for our teammate :P
The drive home was horrible mainly because every ptfo so I had no one to talk to. We set our destination at the Shell near Van’s house to gas up. So here is where a rant begins. Basically all cars arrived at Shell at different times because some people, such as myself, dropped off people who lived in Milpitas before arriving. CJ, who is already the slowest driver, dropped off someone in Union City and also had to drop Aliza near Great Mall. He said it’ll take him another 30 minutes to get here. So I thought heck instead of everyone waiting in the cold, the fact that I’m driving a van, and also I’m not paying for gas, I could just drive a bunch of people, drop them off on campus, then come back. This way drivers won’t have to be going out of their way later and I can just do 1 trip while waiting for CJ. Everyone liked the idea so I took people who lived on campus and people who had rides waiting at school. Randy is one of the drivers. After I called out who lives near campus, Daniel Wong asked if he can ride with me. I mean I knew he was an asshole but this is far out there. Even Van called him out for it over text and he’s usually the one who tells me to chill about him. I’m like wait aren’t you going home with Randy? He said if I drove him, he could shower and sleep 30 minutes earlier. I’m like so you’re just gonna leave your housemate here? He gave me a glare and was like fuck it fine I’ll stay. I’m like ok fine wtv so Daniel muttered something under his breath and went to get his stuff. Randy literally double flipped him off and mouthed “fuck you” right behind Daniel and most people saw. Then as I was loading the van, Danae was sleeping in the passenger seat. I was 2 seats short so I asked if she could stay here with the others. She tackled me with questions which I got super pissed about: “Why do you need to take them back? Why can’t they wait? Why do you have to be the one to take them back? Who am I waiting with?” Like I had to answer everything and people hear this. And she was complaining when she got out of the car. Daniel Wong eventually got the hint we were short on seats and reluctantly just grabbed his bag and got out without a word. I’m like seriously you two?
While driving back, I couldn’t help but think Danae has actually caused more trouble than anything on this trip. And it just really pissed me off. Even while driving people back to school, they jokingly said dude Danae looked like she’s gonna murder us. I’m like dude these people barely know you but I feel like they can judge you accurately. She caused a fuss on Saturday morning because she thought someone was gonna go get breakfast for the team. I asked her if she coached anyone during this tournament and she’s like no because she didn’t have breakfast so she can’t think straight and in the middle of the day between her games, most people lost already so there’s no point. I’m like dude, you’re a coach. Take some damn responsibility. She also got breakfast on Sunday morning and didn’t offer to get me any. I didn’t mind but knowing her, it is surprising. And I was swerving a bit on the way back from Davis because I was sleepy but not once did she offer to drive. I hate to admit it but she’s just leeched on this trip. Just pissed me off the whole drive from Shell back to Fremont.
When I got home, I jumped in the shower and crawled into bed asap because I was too dead to care for anything else in the world LOL what a trip :)
