One thing that annoys me about Orym's comment other than it being unnecessary and cruel is that it added absolutely nothing to the conversation as well as didn't make sense.
Of course, Dorian would feel differently about the gods if Ludinus had been the one to kill brother, but he didn't. Lolth did, and the primes (wildmother in particular) did nothing to prevent it. The same would be true if will and derrig had been killed by the gods, is a circular argument that leads nowhere and moves no one's position, it just makes orym look like an asshole.
I'm seeing the sentiment that Dorian can't or is unwilling to see things from Orym's side again. First of all, it's not true. Both agree on the key issue that Ludinus has to die, and not once has Dorian tried to argue otherwise, but at every turn, Orym has argued against Dorian's position. Whether or not Dorian's position is 'correct' is immaterial as Dorian has not tried to talk down Orym's points like orym has his.
It has been 2-3 DAYS since Cyrus died, Dorian has had no time to process his grief, and it's unfair of Orym to expect that Dorian be pragmatic and consider hypotheticals while Orym himself cannot do the same after 7 years. And yes, grief is a lifelong process, but Orym is much further in his journey than Dorian, who has compartmentalise and internalised his trauma.
Orym weaponising Dorian's loss against him is wrong and unfair, Orym's trauma doesn't weigh anymore heavily on him than Dorian's does and to suggest otherwise implies a severe lack of understanding of Dorian's character.

okay, based on this how is our character in Fallout 3 NOT mentally unstable? sad as our characters believed our mother abandoned us for a reason and that it wasn’t Cardiac Arrest.

NO SPOLIER
Fallout serie
What really makes the fun of listening to the series with my son is that I am a little too much enthusiastic and we put on pause for me to explain the lore and why I smiled (which in his book is equivalent to a laugh from me)
But I still don’t have a good memory of faces so he must remind me who is who when they are not on screen for more than 20 min... (minus the three main characters, I am not THIS lost)

Fallout S1:E1 - The End
Not too bad. Sets the scene pretty well. If you are new to the Fallout universe it’s a good opener to give you a taste of what is to come and things associated with the show/games. Not too lore heavy. You can come in blind and won’t be super lost.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spoliers and Deep Dive ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The news bulletin about the was in Anchorage is a nice touch. Also it touches on the reason why the Vault Boy/Girl do the thumbs up(yes that actually was a real method told to people). They are apparently only focusing their inspiration form Fallout 4/Fallout 76. Which isn’t too surprising as it’s the newest games, but kinda sad that they are ignoring the foundational games.
The vault looks great. It gives the right feel and is decorated like still “functioning” vaults in game. Now that being said, *ahem* WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS INTERVAULT DOOR BULLSHIT?!?!?!? Like that’s never been a thing ever. Also for being a vault in California it’s rather well stocked with British made submachine guns (the sterling). It seems the raiders were smart enough to bring their leather armor pieces, although only brought melee weapons? No guns? Just knives and bats? I guess for ease of concealment sure. If you are confused by that dart/tranq gun don’t worry, so are we as Fallout fans. That has never existed in the games. Sure there was the Syringer from Fallout 4, but that is a homebrew weapon. The council also seems quite calm about being attacked by raiders but then scared to open the main Vault door. Hello?!?! News flash the raiders breeched Vault 32 and then breeched you.
I hate how the Brotherhood is portrayed. It’s a thing that started in like Fallout 4(and in Fallout 3 to a small extent) and it seems that they are just continuing it. They are made out to be tech obsessed commandos trying to be the new government. Which isn’t too far off, but they are more for controlling and using technology. A lot of my gripes are somewhat small. Why are the T60s so shiny? Are these motherfuckers out here polishing power armor? Tell me why they also have their targeting monocles down all the time? Also Dane, buddy there is no way you wouldn’t realize you were putting on a boot laced with razor blades. 1)You would see it, 2)you would feel it long before your foot was fully in the boot.
The Junkjet was nice to see. I have no idea about the chicken thing. If he was feral you wouldn’t need a chicken to tell you that, he would just come after you.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Overall there were nice little touches fans will appreciate and there were no egregious points of retconing. There are some hints of Todd Howard just making stuff up or allowing things to be made up. I hope this doesn’t continue, but I won’t hold my breath.
Final score - 7/10
Just a thought, stranger things x fallout au type thing ykyk. I was playing fallout 4 the other day and my mind just went "hey what if we just throw stranger things at this bcos why not" and so this is what I thought of so far and ig spolier warning about fallout 4 if you havent played or finished it yet. So far the characters I have in mind:
----
Steve and Robin: the sole survivor...err I guess they'd be the duo survivors? They are married but for convenience and tax purposes only, they're very much still platonic and besties. I'll explain later
Shaun/Father: idk yet maybe Henry or Brennen (this means yes synth Shaun will prolly be El but I'm not sure as of yet)
Nancy: Piper Wright
Mike: Nat Wright
Murray: Nick Valentine?
Chrissy: Curie
Eddie: Deacon
Jonathan: Preston Garvey? Mmmmm
Argyle: Mama Murphy
Billy: Kellog
Hopper: Hancock? Preston?
Joyce: Desdemona?
Aaaaand the rest of the party remains as themselves. They're there and Steve and Robin become their step-in parents and the party (with the exception of Will and Mike) in turn have gotten into the habit of calling them Mom and Dad.
----
That's all so far tho I'm not totally sure about some of them just yet, lemme know what you think.
Okay, I had to respond to you TLOU post because while I enjoyed it, I also agree!
Spoliers below the cut.
It's obviously understandable to be disappointed in the finale.
One, to each their own.
Two, you can argue it was rushed (particularly when Joel woke up in the hospital).
Three, while it was true to the game, I'd like to see the show sit in the uneasiness of Joel’s decision more. For Joel, it’s the easiest decision he's ever made and he has no remorse and wow, not a lot of pieces of art do that. I also think it would have been better to see them settle back in Jackson and watch their relationship grow, but the uneasiness grows too…Ellie, ever doubtful that Joel is telling her the truth and having a hard time finding purpose after believing she could help find a cure. And then there’s Joel, who doesn’t regret it but is worried what will happen if Ellie finds out because it will cause her pain and he could lose her again.
No pressure to respond with why you thought so! I just wanted to say this to show you are not alone with that thought.
yes!! like ok i do like artistically and narratively the greyness of joel and his clear willingness to have his ends justify his means and the fallout
tbh for me it came down a lot to the impactfulness of the show itself just with other such impactful visually episodes (and especially the one right before this one!!) it felt like… meh
i literally turned to my friend while watching and was like “how much is left, surely a lot right?” but there was only 10 more minutes!! and i didnt play the game so idk maybe part of the magic was lost on me bc of that
Is it just me or did I think that Father rigged Synth Shaun to explode as soon as you meet him at the Castle? Omg it’s so much funnier writing it out.
What are your (Arcade's) music tastes like?
"i like lots of music! Latin music is really very soothing to me, the language is simply beautiful, I enjoy it very much, it would have to be a preference of mine because of it, sometimes listening to soothing Latin and reading a book is just what I need.... If I'm feeling gay I blast Lady Gaga. "
Fallout 76 is far from a finished game yeah, but its also a bedestha game so what do you expect from this company really? I find the glitches and bugs part of the charm and rarely find a game breaking bug, and i dont have issues just reloading if i do find a game breaking one. I wouldn’t say it looks like trash, if you have max graphics its fucking beautiful. Idk tho because I also like fallout 4 and a lot of other ppl don’t so I could be biased.
I find the money well spent if you actually don’t give a fuck about quality, and also enjoy crafting and exploring. It’s also very much fun with friends and I like interacting with random strangers too. I recommend it based on my personal fun with it, but am also aware its buggy and not finished.
So don’t buy if you don’t have friends and actually care about “quality”.
