Mille situation. Briarlight and Blossomfall are the slightly older siblings of Bumblestripe and non Graystripe kittens. She was just expecting and had them soon after joining Thunderclan and then a few moons later had Bumblestripe.

JayPoppy. I had a lot of trouble finding a pairing that worked as the parents for Spotfur and Sorrelstripe since I needed to move them out of the big LionCinder litter so they were tucked there. Poppyfrost just says their hers and no one is to question this.

AlderVelvetPuddle polycule and also Velvet as a church cat. Idk I liked them a lot. Also needed a change to Pouncestep’s parentage bc I wanted just Lightleap and Shadowsight as GoldenDove kittens so she’s secretly Velvet’s kitten that Dove adopted at the church.

Brokenstar. Just Brokenstar. He needed kittens and Fernshade wanted them too so the pair had Badgerkit and Batkit but once Fern saw what he was doing she tried to get them out, Batkit did and was left at the Thunderclan border soon to be swept up by a patrol but Badgerkit didn’t. He died as just a kitten in the fate Fernshade feared. Displeased by his heirs gone Broken and Newt paired up to have Rowanclaw.

Heatherstar is now the sister of Palebird and mother of Onestar. Her only kitten to survive, and we’ve seen she likes more on the nose names so she named him Onekit. Windclan has a bloodline based leadership thing going on. Onewhisker had his one-sided divorce with Firestar and got with Smoke to have Darktail and Heathertail, Smoke refused to let him abandoned her entirely and made him take Heather. He then to save face has another litter with Whitewing being Harestar and Kestrelflight

AshHawkReed bc I said so. After the death of Hawkfrost, Reedwhisker still wanted a family so he had one with Duskfur being Curlfeather and Podlight.

CrookedBlue rights. Bluestar is still aro and she gives all three of her kittens to Crookedstar at the border, Mosskit barely surviving. Moss goes on to be Mosspelt a permanent queen! CrookedWillow is still canon with Silverstream

Okay I don’t know how to keep the changes to my tree but here it is! While I know there’s probably cats I’m missing there’s 460 so far. A lot of changes. In my version I have the colors different and names bigger but for some reason they don’t stay for people who click the link to see it. If I figure out how to fix it then I will but for now idk what to do

These are my settings so if your looking at the tree change them to this for a wayyyy better viewing experience

Another Update from the Carrington Genealogy Department (AKA me working on my FamilyEcho tree)

On Saturday morning, at approximately 2:30am, the tree hit 5,000 people (thanks Queen Victoria).

Today (Monday evening) at about 8pm, the tree hit 6,000 people.

Ruby Jewell Hughen is my maternal great-grandmother. She was the second child born to Sadie Thornton and James Hughen in Alabama, USA in 1920. She was 24 years old in 1944 when she married 25-year-old Hugh Clifton in Bay St. Louis, Hancock County, Mississippi, USA.

Hugh Clifton was the second child of Maggie Hobbs and Hilton Clifton Sr. in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, USA. He was a "semi-skilled chauffeur and driver, bus, taxi, truck, and tractor" and "worked as an Automotive Mechanic in Air Transportation". A U.S. WW2 Army Enlistment record from 1941 states he was a Private. In 1942 in Walton County, Florida, USA, Hugh married Annie Sowell. Annie then divorced him in 1944 on the grounds of desertion exactly 2 months and 18 days before he married Ruth.

Ruth's oldest two children—daughters—were born in 1940 in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama, USA, and in 1942 in Alabama, USA respectively. Her youngest two children—sons—were born in 1947 and 1951 (likely in Alabama, USA) respectively. Perhaps if I had paid attention to the dates a recent reveal by my mother wouldn't have been so shocking (or too late to save me from a countless amount of time researching in the wrong direction).

About 3 weeks ago I learned that Hugh was Ruby's second husband. I can't even find the words to describe the whirlwind that consumed me in the following moments. Lightning quick, I began interrogating my mother for more information to fill in this sudden void in my ancestry. All she could remember was that her mother told her that her real surname was Singleton.

The name plucked familiarly at my brain, yet I couldn't think why. It was only later that night when I sat down to figure this all out that I realized why the name was so familiar. Tucked into the ignored hints on my Ancestry account under Ruth's profile was a U.S. WW2 Draft Card which listed a Ruby Jewel Singleton and her spouse Joseph David Singleton.

Following that vein, I discovered a Mississippi, USA marriage record between a Joseph D. Singleton and a Ruby J. Hughen in 1938. The discrepancy with this record is that it lists both parties as being of color. My mother and other documents can verify that Ruby and my grandfather were white, and the draft card indicated that Joseph was white as well. While I've learned that this can be a frequent issue with historical records, I can't definitively verify the couple listed on the record as my ancestors despite the dates and locations matching up.

Without knowing who Joseph really is and whether or not he's actually my great-grandfather, this branch of my tree is stumped. I'm hoping to discover more information regarding this little twist in my family history. Perhaps it will soften the blow of losing 50+ "direct" relatives through Hugh.

Until then, I'll keep trying to build up my ever-twisting tree and keep y'all updated on the interesting stuff that I find along the way.

How are you keeping track of the family trees? I’ve started plotting them out just on paper for just two bloodlines and it’s already a mess

You’re not gonna like my answer. I mostly fit it all in the autism megapouch that’s attached to my frontal lobe.

But visual guides help a lot, I’ve found it’s better to just focus on a specific era instead of trying to make THE MEGA family tree. So I have one draft for ThunderClan for the Late Forest Era, and another for the Lake Era.

The transition is the hard part, but I sit and say “Ok. What pairing do I WANT to do here?“ and check that specific thing on my tree (I also need to physically draw it out, because if I don’t count backwards with my pen it doesn’t Feel Right)

So I say, “Ok. I want Hollylark x Sparkpelt.“ And then I encounter Fernsong as the problem there, based on where he was canonically. SO! I remove him from the Firestar family and make him a kittypet. But wait-- they share an ancestor through Speckletail. So I apply my “Three Generations Removed“ rule and tap upwards to make sure I’m in the clear;

Sparkpelt --> Bramblestar --> Goldenflower --> Speckletail

Hollylark --> Cinderheart --> Brackenfur --> Lionheart --> Speckletail

As you can see, I’m at least 4 generations removed on Sparkpelt’s side and I rule that this pairing is officially in the clear. And you may remember that I ALSO apply this rule to a 4th generation IF the grandparents are alive to remember, as is the case of Onestar viewing Heathertail x Breezepelt-- that doesn’t apply here because Lionheart and Goldenflower are both dead by this point.

My process is very tedious, but it’s the way that I commit my stuff to memory. Even with all this I can’t eliminate everything completely but... I’m trying.
