A Dream from Last Night: Second Anniversary

The night between the seventh and eighth of April marks the anniversary of my first and very unexpected Douman dream. These drawings were actually supposed to be for the first anniversary last year, but I didn’t have time to do anything in time. I made these sketches later on,and held onto them for months to post for the second anniversary.  I put the rest of the description in a read more because I have much to say!

For the theme I went with a part of the first dream that was influenced by a book I read about graphic design in Cuba. The first three images depict a scene from the first dream I regret not drawing, the segue from the reveal to the mambo montage of Douman in Cuba. Edit, tumblr doesn’t like external links so I’ll have to just mention to see “Que Rico Mambo” by Perez Prado. The song in the montage was indiscernible, but the one mentioned is the closest I could find to it. Douman dropped their disguise via walking past an arcade column.

The other images were for the anniversary, where I had some fun doing studies of the graphic design book that influenced the Cuba segment of the first dream. The “Visit Cuba” image is the only one I referenced directly, with some edits of course, while the rest are inspired by a bunch of different things from the book. (there was no credit in the book for the referenced image other than it was a luggage label) 

I like to think that once Merlin and Dantes are summoned, as individuals who watch dreams, they also see all of Pilar’s encounters with Douman in her dreams. So for the anniversary drawings I wanted to make a sort of comic depicting that in some way. 

The last drawing I had this idea that suddenly came to mind, something like a welcome poster. I had a lot of fun conceptualizing and drawing it. 

I never got to finish some of these and sadly don’t currently have the time to do so, but I wanted to post them anyways since I’ve been holding onto them for months. While I currently have other higher priority art to do, I’m looking forward to continuing drawing all the dreams! The most interesting thing is that after I finished 5.5, I stopped having them. I do like that it worked out that way, the final dream was a perfect last dream encounter before finally seeing one another in 5.5, and plus the dream count is capped and not a growing list anymore lol.

Hello there! Please, call me Nimue. I’m 22 years old and German (English is my second anguage). I am on the aromantic spectrum. I am genderfluid and thus what I identify as will shift on a whim. Please ask me for pronouns and what gendered terms I'm fine with at the moment! Or use They/Them and do not gender if you want to play it safe all the time. Due to this I also prefer to not label my sexuality (not like I know what to call it anyways).

I write a lot and sometimes draw. I will also make random posts though. I also write f/o imagines for everyone to enjoy! Let your mind go wild!

Selfship Stuff

Overhaul? Yes. But I try to be a bit more careful with f/os nowadays so a lot are pending. I mainly focus on Ensemble Stars and Hypnosis Mic tho, so expect me to gush about them the most. I mostly post about Fling Posse at the moment. I love all of my f/os though!

"Shipped with s/i" means that I ship them with my s/i but I do not consider them f/os! I just enjoy the ship dynamics. Thus these ships are not personal to me by any means and I would not rank them as my partners due to a lack of feelings for them.

There are also a few f/os who are a bit complicated due to past circumstances (I rather not talk about it). Once I recovered and sorted my feelings I add them to the other rows especially Romani Archaman, I love him so much and want to decleare him my boyfriend again you have no idea... However long that will be. I love them though and plan to add and gush about them eventually once I moved on from the situation! I just don't know when that will be...

Iffy sharing Fling Posse (Ramuda, Gentaro, Dice), Henry (FE) and Blaze romantically (except with my friends). If she knew the reason Desinii had chosen their little slice of paradise, Urbosa doubtlessly would have brushed it aside and said she had the benefit of being there the longest. She would have beamed inwardly, though. 

Desert Flower was a passion project, the culmination of five years of travel, apprenticeship, and deep artistic drive (aided by Urbosa's extremely generous family wealth). She might be spoiled, but her work was legitimate. She might have started in the usual trends - sailing tattoos when she started, something she still pulled out for the odd siren occasionally - but after a year, she spent time abroad and was able to study the real reason she began: traditional Gerudo florals. One of her earliest memories was her mothers coming home with fresh ink after renewing their vows to each other, and no matter how many times they told her she had to wait until she was old enough, she couldn't be stopped. She drew on herself with markers often enough that her school had to create a rule specifically forbidding its students from drawing on themselves - or others, after the enterprising young girl thought she found a loophole. 

Nowadays, she fluctuated between her beloved florals, traditionalist Hylian styles, and the art-nouveau that had taken the internet by storm a few years ago and that she still liked well enough to practice. There were plenty of experiments in her portfolio, and she did her best to make sure her canvases never went home unhappy. In fact, the studio was notorious for their "free five year touchups," something all the artists offered, but very few had ever had to take. 

Several friends joined up with her - a few from her travels, a few who followed from an ill-fated year in art school, and a few who blew her out of the water so strongly that she practically begged them to join her studio. Most days, Desert Flower hummed with activity - but now, on a Sunday morning, there weren't too many who were sober enough or awake enough to go under the needle. 

Urbosa glanced up from her sketchbook when Aaramani updated her on Desinii's presence and nodded. "Just a sec, wrapping this up for tomorrow's 10 AM."

It wasn't too long before Urbosa made her grand entrance. She was dressed in a manner that both betrayed her privileged upbringing, and how she liked to spend her weekends. She wore a fitted, almost bodice-like top with no sleeves that had been fashioned from traditional Gerudo linens, and a pair of loose red cargo pants that almost matched the wall color. She gave a wry smile, dark blue lipstick that matched her top betraying a hint of gold in the light.

"Desinii, right? You want some water or anything before we get started?"

I wanted to try my hand at designing a secret boss oc so here she is! Her name is Nocturne and she used to have a show that aired music videos and concerts but with the rise of the internet, it was canceled. More info about her below the cut

(This is a redraw of a silly doodle from my sketchbook. I don't think she's ever met Spamton but she has heard of him from his old Big Shot advertisements)

After discovering the truth about how no one has true freedom to decide their own fates, she's taken a supposedly apathetic attitude towards it, claiming that true freedom or the lack thereof doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things

The way I see it, if jevil and spamton are at opposite ends of how they react to the truth (jevil revels in his actions don't matter and he's free from the consequences while spamton is severely depressed and wants to escape to a world where he is free), then Nocturne would fall in the middle, being neither ecstatic or depressed about it. Despite her apparent indifference, she seeks to prevent others from knowing and spreading the truth because she doesn't want others to hurt themselves or society at large with the burden she bears

I imagine her in the TV world of Chapter 3 but lowkey also considering how she could fit in a hypothetical chapter
