Who has the best dynamic?

One: I'd say I like Mary Glass the most. She pretty much started this whole family I invented (the Glass family) and also was a self-insert at the beginning so I might be a littel biased, but she is way more fleshed out now and also loves her wife a lot. She can make storms which I wish I could do.

Two: There's this character I just called 'Granny' because I waited too long with coming up with a name for her and now I refuse to. She's like this yellow-wearing tiny asian grandma that used to be a writer and now she's insane and feral with many limbs. She kind of exists in that way, but in terms of personality and what she actually does except be married to the woman she had a kind of enemies-to-lovers thing (also not fleshed out) and bite people. I think she has potential tough and is also fun.

Three: So this is kind of a hard question to answer because I mostly just invent characters and less full stories... 🤔 I think perhaps Daniel (Mary's brother) has made some questionable choices when he became an evil landlord that crushes people to death. This, on one hand, led him to get partners (yay), but also he ended up getting targeted by a group that caused just. So much trauma. So I think his bad choice was fucking around and finding out.

Four: Favourite ship,,,, now that's hard. I really like the one with Daniel and his partners, but there's one other, where the situation is kind of like They can be bad for each other but also the only person that the other could ever be with- The first is named Toby (Short for the chocolate /j) and he accidentally aqquired this power where, when he observes people being happy, they lose their happiness and he gains it. He really likes people but doesn't want to do that, so mostly just stays inside, which is pretty lonely. Cue entry Arthur, a guy who likes watching the stars and also kind of feeds on other peoples loneliness. It's not really his fault either and they just kinda feed off each other, but they are pretty interestind and I like their dynamic. (Toby is Daniel's uncle, by the way.)

Five: Daniel would be most likely to win at monopoly since he is an evil landlord who manipulates people (I love him tough).

Six: I'd say the strongest character is Mary- Not only can and does she summon giant, destructive storms and smite people with lightning but she's also just. So freaking muscly. Mary doesn't punch you and you fall over, she punches you and you die.

Seven: The favourite dynamic I think I have right now is Mary and Daniel (Can you tell I like these two lmao). They're siblings that used to be very close when they were young, mostly bc their parents were shit. Mary ended up getting severe anger issues and leaving as soon as she could and leaving Daniel behind, who on the other hand got more manipulative and very good with words. He blames her for leaving him behind, while she says that he was always the favourite child and could get himself out of trouble just by talking anyways. They really hate each other now and would perhaps even kill, but in that really complicated siblings way where you're still bonded somehow and would fuck someone up for messing with the other. Mary ended up killing their parents and Daniel bailed her out with his cool talking skills and knowledge of court because he gets sued for tax fraud a lot and Mary's wife Jane made Daniel a new arm because Mary asked her to. So yeah. Them.

This is tough bc i love me a happy ending and i don’t really do angst anyway lmao. My joke answer is my crack andreil fic Monday, but maybe the real answer is my snowbaz fic+song Breakable bc I left off before things get fully resolved (but it is clearly hopeful imo).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

The happiEST?? Hmmm. I think my overall Happiest fic might be like, Mon Chou? And Better than Sex. both of those are just like, gooey with happiness. And both have happy endings so I’ll say one of them. Actually from a different approach I’ll say my time loop fic has the happiest ending bc it’s probably the angstiest thing I’ve written haha so the ending is such a relief.

I have not! I think about it sometimes….it’s just usually hard for me to imagine a world where all my blorbos live, even though I almost only write AUs…a mystery

Yes, which is wild!!! I think several of my Vandrew fics and BtS have been translated into russian. Thank you translators, you’re incredible.

Yes!! This was one of my most fun and treasured early fandom experiences with @facewithoutheart and @martsonmars <3 published results include The Chain (i was really just losing my mind in the doc while christina wrote tbh) and The Muse’s Waking which is probably the weirdest thing I’ve ever (partially) written hahah

Making me chooooooose ugh. Idk man i reread a snowbaz fic today and almost cried and they were my first fandom love so today i’m going to say them <3 

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I recently picked up a fic i abandoned 2 years ago so now i’m like well never say never! But one that’s in my “this is in the past now” pile that i was just thinking about is my andreil Alex Rider (TV) AU. i actually had an idea for how to get around the bit i was stuck on while rewatching Alex Rider the other day sooo…. But likely still abandoned

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think, somewhat incongruously, 1) writing concisely and 2) setting a mood. I think both these things are true in say Weightless (andreil, 1k, T).

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

PLOT. plot is so hard. That’s too broad of an answer so i’ll say, keeping multiple storylines/arcs progressing at once. I don’t do it much. It’s a fun challenge though. I usually write little one-shot, single-conflict fics bc that comes easier for me. 

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Love it. Not fluent in any other language enough to really do it justice but i’d like to.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I think i wrote some hp and some jane austen fic before i ever got into Fandom Proper lol. First published fandom was for the Simon Snow Series <3

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

I think the one i’ve gone back to the most is Weightless. I set it in one of my favorite IRL places and it has tender blood drinking so. How could I beat that, really?

Thirty-six as of now! Most of them are still from events (I put all the filled prompts in one work per event, don’t @ me), but when I really like one of these I post it as a stand-alone :) and I have a few fics outside events too! Woo!

2. What's your total Ao3 word count?

132,746 as of right now, but I’ll still finish Ectober so that’ll change quickly. (and as I said before, some fics I post "twice", in the event's work, and as a stand-alone)

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Danny Phantom almost exclusively, the exception are the CrossOvers :p

I love The Sandman and Supernatural ones. I’m into DPxDC as well.

asdfghjjklñ I fucking love CrossOvers so much. I’ve written some "niche" ones but I believe the craziest/crackiest was Doors :))

Not much in the way of WIPs but I do have several plot bunnies I entertain before discarding.

On DPxDC I had a demon twin AU where Damian killed Danny as a kid with pressure from Ra’s al Ghul, and they met again after many years, with Damian as Robin and Danny as the Ghost King… and Danny didn’t forgive Damian. I had a lot planned and wanted to include a lot of worldbuilding, but ultimately I decided I couldn’t give Damian’s character justice as I was projecting heavily on my broken relationship with my abusive brother, and Damian deserved better than to be compared to my brother.

Also DPxDC, the aforementioned explicit work, which would be Danny/Valerie/Jason, with them dealing with being ecto-entities with the ecto-acts in place, Danny dealing with being King and trying to be an astronaut, Valerie coping with her feelings on her nature and her Wayne scholarship, and Jason being a crime lord with a family of vigilantes, and their broken yet existing relationships. As they navigated the complex ensuing dynamics, they dismantled the GIW and took down the Ecto-Acts.

I would also like to do more for Dragon, but I really don’t feel like it rn

Instrospection and mindscapes, if I can say so.

I’m not really a person who uses a lot of metaphors of writes flowery language, but i wish i was!! i love very beautiful language and poetic writing but i just don’t do that that much im pretty straight forward, which isn’t a bad thing but I wish i could expand a bit more.

takes me out the story way too much, it’s fine if it’s like one word every now and then but nah. ive read a couple of young royals fics, and as a swedish speaker its a bit jarring to suddenly have swedish words there lmao

I try!! I hope if anyone follows me and has commented and I haven't replied, they know that sometimes I do not know how to express my gratitude and I do try and open my inbox and clean it up but I get in my own head about it. it really means a lot that people take the time to read and especially comment, especially in a time where engagement with organic (not ai) art (and ml fanworks in general) seems to be low.

moving past the urge to say "I would need someone to tell me" in order to not be a wet blanket, the things I tell myself I am good at since people say it often are: my prose is poetic / I write longing very well / someone once said for "hearth" that I wrote first love very well (and someone else said that for tbsym, tender like a bruise is how I think they said it)

weaknesses? personally felt: pacing, dialogue. these are things I can get over I think. and some other wetblanket stuff ajfhsdhfsdhfb like I don’t know if I get the characters right, etc

76,628. it's kinda insane that i wrote 51k under just six months last year.

currently only writing for f1, but i've published works for star wars, peaky blinders, the old guard and batman. on another account that has been liquidated many years ago i had footy rpf and teen wolf fics.

carry each other (hal jordan/bruce wayne), worked the blade (seb/mick), to the finnish line (seb/charles/kimi), spoils of war (seb/mick) and a favour returned (seb/lewis).

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

i do, unless it only says "please write more of this", because i don't have anything polite to reply. but i love getting replies from authors too, so only fair to return the favor. there are definitely times when i just re-read a bunch of comments and they can really help to lift my mood or feel better about my writing.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

lmao that would be the prince au break up sex fic, someday to say out loud. making george ask alex to tell him he loves him even if it isn't true and ensuring that he can't and won't believe him... partly why it's hard for me to go back to writing prince au is because it was very easy for me to project my unmedicated depression onto george, and (thank god) i'm not in that place anymore.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

mmhh my star wars fic maybe? i'm not overly fond of happy endings, the best i deal out is a hopeful but kinda open ending. out of my f1 fic it's a favour returned, i guess -- there's some talk about longer term commitment and trying and failing to say that they like like each other, or consolation prize, where mick admits twice that he's been thinking about seb.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not in the classical sense i guess or not that i've seen.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

boy do i. i mostly write smut and use it as a catalyst to nudge a relationship to another level. i don't really get the what kind? question. what kinds are there? wholegrain?

haven't written one yet, but i've been toying with the idea of an f1 and the expendables crossover.

if i had a nickel for every time someone pulled entire lines from a fic of mine and barely paraphrased them, i would have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

on my old ao3 account, yes! i haven't been approached on the new one and i don't think i'd give permission now.

all time? propably stiles/derek or eames/arthur from inception. also it was sterek that first got me to tumblr, back in like 2012 or something.

ugh right now it feels like i'll never finish anything again. but i have a long star wars wip that's like 75% done but i haven't touched for three years. there's a roc sebmick fic i started and i actually know how it should go from start to finish, but i've been struggling with writing this year, so, i don't know.

i've been told the internal struggle/tension that narrator is facing is pretty tight and i do agree :) i also think the porn i write is nicely physical and pretty hot.

longfic. like. i wish i could do it -- i had a 54k wip on my old ao3 account -- but i don't have the energy or the commitment. this is also why i struggle with WTB and SOW -- i want to write more to both but i feel like they are snappy and valuable as they are and i'm worried i'll ruin that if i add more.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

english isn't my first langauge so all dialogue is in another language in fic for me. i'm not super fond of adding another language on top pf that.

Favorite RotE book: fool's fate, like everyone else said, because it's GOOD.. the pacing, the tying together of the last two trilogies.. also, i really like glaciers. i first read this 10 years ago, before the series was finished, and this book stuck in my head the most. i have bad memory for media retention so tbh the main thing i remember was all the descriptions of their hike across the glacier and the outislands, but i just really liked that!! you never see that kind of biome, really, much less in fantasy. it's a very clever, heart-wrenching, addictive book to read, and the one i'd most like to reread. also, the resolution from The Quarrel, which upsets me.

Top three favorite characters: I literally have a tattoo of the Fool lmao. so obvs he's my fave. I reeeeally really like Bee, I relate to her a lot. I'm not counting Fitz here bc he's obviously fave because I've lived in his head so much. My other favourite... maybe Paragon, actually. Paragon is very special to me.

Top Three Least Favorite Characters: TATS, god I hated Tats. I haven't actually finished the series yet, still in Fool's Quest, but Lant really upsets me - I had teachers exactly like that, who treated me like shit for no reason. Maybe he'll get better, idk. I'm not sure about others - obviously there are dirtbags, but I like reading about them, as awful as they are. They're interesting!!! Maybe Regal, because he upset me more than the other villains lol

codywan, femslash, M. a league of our own!au. i know next to nothing about baseball (i’d say it’s because i’m not from the us, but i just. don’t care about sports), and i usually have issues with a lot of femslash fic because (even as a lesbian--or maybe precisely because of that reason) it usually feels weirdly preachy and/or very alienating, but i fucking loved this one. very well written, the character work and the pacing is really good. (warnings: period-typical homophobia)

the gunslinger - dead cowboy / @dead-cowboy

codymaul, E. western au. i feel like i’m cheating because it was a gift for yours truly, but. well. weird and inscrutable in the best of ways--i really love feeling lost and learning stuff along with the characters, and cowboy is very very VERY GOOD at that kind of thing. also: best of codys. he’s so sad and angry and such a huge bitch. i love him. his relationship with maul is SO GOOD. i love the way she writes about cody’s grief for rex, and the worldbuilding is so interesting i’m very 👁️👄👁️

codywan, T. modern!au, based on the queering the map project. short and very sweet and very well written. i’ve read it more than once, it’s become one of those comfort fics i like returning to whenever i’m feeling down. my favourite thing might be the way elwen writes about cody’s longing and want, how embodied it feels; we’re there with him and with them.

codywan, E. kind of a ghost story. i’ve been a fan of brigitttt’s work for a while, but this one really fucked me up. i really love ghost stories and haunted houses, and i know way too much about them for non-fandom reasons, and this one has everything i like about them. i don’t want to say too much about it; while i think knowing how it ends doesn’t take away anything from the story itself, i believe part of the fun of reading it is finding out the truth along with the characters. just read it, it’s very good. source: me and my lit degree. codywan, T. mad max au. very fun very well done transmedia fic. i really love it when modern aus take place in places that are very obviously not the us, and this one is so--fun. the characters are well-developed, and it’s very down to earth in a way i found very fulfilling and enjoyable to read, if that makes sense. i haven’t had the time to listen to the audio files yet (sorry!) but punk’s art is great, as always.

tatami night - actualhurry

jin/ryuzo, E. ghost of tsushima time loop au, and the only fic that’s not star wars lmao. i have issues with most time travel fic (it makes me anxious, or i just don’t like the approach, or both at once), but this one’s really good: there’s quite a lot of fic for this game despite the fact that it’s a game, and it might be the best one of the bunch. the writer really gets what i like about the ship and the characters and their relationship with each other, and just runs with it. very clever, very satisfying.

1. Who is your favourite character in 2?

No question, it's Jaskier. My absolute baby. The main character. There is no one else.

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1?

Can I pick Kang since he manipulated Loki even when he was in the TVA and not in the sacred timeline? And everyone else he controlled.

3. What's your favourite episode of 4?

Episode 5. It's very Riley-centric and he's my fave from this show. He deals with a lot this episode.

4. What is your favourite season of 5?

Lmao, I could go out on a limb and say S2, but since we don't even have a trailer yet, I'm gonna stick with S1.

5. What's your favourite relationship in 3?

Wesper. A close second is Kanej. But Wesper are my absolute fave.

6. Who is your anti relationship in 2?

Not really into Yenralt on their own. As a poly with Jaskier, yes. Mainly, that ship needs more Jaskier in it.

The show came out on Netflix. We watched the first episode. Partner didn't like it. I went away and starred reading the books, then went back and watched the show. Then I realised I was missing something, which was Six of Crows and I started reading those books, too.

Hamish Linklater is amazing. The way he plays John/Paul is so good.

Oooh, hard one. At the moment, with a bi bard becoming an actuality that will be shown-on-screen canon, I'm gonna go with The Witcher.

when did you join ? what made you join ? what do you remember from the plotlines that were current at the time ? where were you in life when you joined and where are you now ?

i joined in maybe spring of 2018 ? i stayed for a month or something, lost muse and returned a month or two later if i remember correctly. the best decision ever <3 i honestly cannot remember much about the plots. the portugal vs spain thing was big and i want to say the andorra plotline was starting??? i was just working off jobs and trying to figure out what i wanted to do next. now i'm trying to get my master's but work keeps me busy and it's hard to find the motivation when i feel like i don't even need the damn paper lmao

what is your favourite plotline that you've been part of ?

olimbiel made me stay so i think i should definitely mention it right off the bat ! i had so much fun writing them and their struggles kept me entertained ! butttt zoey and olimpia's friendship's the most important to me. i don't even remember plotting a close friendship for them with evy but then at some point we all could agree that olimpia and zoey were bffs. i love my girls so much!!!! i think i also have to mention early jelimpia too. i don't wanna sound too ship crazy but their bickering was so entertaining and it gave me so much muse !!!!!! if i remember correctly, i had been steadily losing muse and then j swooped in and the issue was gone ! the croÿs mean the world to me as well. i don't know if hshq would have been even half as fun without the dysfunctional family. i think i'll force hails and isa to give me one more thread as well. especially because i cannot bear the idea of their last thread being a sad one :(

GNSDKGNSDKGN i was upset over one thing and i was screaming about it in evy's ims and she just encouraged me to be even more toxic ksgbkdsjgbsjgkd it was a very good way to let off steam and honestly her comments made me laugh

i feel very sad to close this chapter. letting hshq end means letting go of funny honesty hours, those late nights of writing, the early mornings of waking up to new replies... i loved killing time here. i loved refreshing the dash and seeing what you had written. i loved that on my morning commute i could open the app and read the dash as it was the morning paper. a lot of you have said that you've written all that there was to write. and i echo that sentiment. it still doesn't really comfort me aksfdbjgsb thank you everyone for being so amazing and making these six years so damn great !!!!!
