You ever think about what gym classes at Brooklyn Academy of the Gifted are like? Because I’m just imagining them playing dodgeball or something and it coming down to the 21st nome kids plus Drew and Lacy who turn out to be far more athletic than everyone thought. All of their other classmates are just sitting on the sidelines after getting out and trying to figure out what the hell kind of group/foster home Sadie & co. are from, and what the hell kind of summer camp Drew and Lacy go to

Hiii I'm back with more voice types and this time it's the Kane Chronicles! You may have noticed I did the first 3 within like 2 days and then never came back to it. I started this one at the same time as those but got stuck on literally one person lol. It sat in my drafts for a year and I forgot about it lol sorry

Carter: baritone, but he's just here for the elective credit

Sadie: mezzo soprano, but tries to sing all the parts at once. It's really confusing to sit by her bc you can never tell what she's supposed to be singing and it's distracting as hell (inspired by personal experience)

Zia: alto 2 that doesn't get the attention she deserves. Y'know how a lot of people only pay attention to sopranos? that's what we're looking at here. hates it with a burning passion bc she's good and deserves to be recognized for it

Amos: has a bass voice, but he's actually in the band and there to accompany them

Julius: something's telling me bass-baritone. Idk.

Walt: he's a baritone. I don't really have anything else to say about this one he just gives baritone vibes

Anubis: bass-baritone, but he's not actually apart of the choir, he showed up with Walt one day and then kept coming back

Bast: she's another showy soprano 1 who gets a lot of solos, it bothers people but she's so sweet so they can't get too mad

Desjardins: hear me out. Tenor. Something about the godawful french accent I always imagine him with makes it impossible to imagine him as anything else lmao (no offense french people I'm just horrible at accents)

Jaz: she gives soprano vibes, but like. Ensemble soprano.

Cleo: she's still on the young side so soprano-ish for now, but once her voice matures she'll end up either an alto 1 or a mezzo soprano.

Felix: tenor. Again, he's pretty young so that's a given. But I feel like he would stay a tenor for some time.

headcanons from The Kane Chronicles because I miss them Rick please I need a new book

• Carter is definitely Horus' favorite of all time. Not only is he his host, but Carter is also extremely intelligent and capable in his role as pharaoh, as well as a person with a good heart, and Horus is so proud of him (he will never admite it tho)

• Bast always brings small meals to the Kanes during missions. Different from other heroes who go through various basic difficulties saving the world, Sadie and Carter always have a goddess who loves them very much, bringing them food or finding a nearby hotel to rest.

• Bes will definitely randomly show up at Nomo and make dinner. Nobody questions. He's good at that

• Sadie creates a lot of playlists, she has at least one for everyone she loves. Carter has two, but she keeps one private. Anubis and Walt's keeps changing because she can't decide on their vibe, and Bastet's is updated every day. She used to have a romantic playlist about Anubis, now they listen it like a old joke

• Isis is attached to her children, so whenever possible she is checking on Anubis and Horus as if they were still little children. Without realizing it, she started checking up on Carter and Sadie frequently as well.

• Felix likes to do Jaz's hair. He's terrible at it but she lets him anyway and always shows off his hairstyles

• Cleo is a source of pride for Thoth. He talks about her at pantheon meetings and always expresses excitement over the little discoveries she makes. (Thoth is considered a very attentive god to mortals, I can't imagine him ignoring a follower)

• Anubis and Walt have a very strong bond, and even if the curse didn't link them they would hardly be separated. Walt showed him a lot of the mortal world, Anubis gave him entire lessons on the historical periods that Walt likes. They play videogames e go to dinner out casually. Anubis met Walt's mother once, she's scary.

• Bastet and Anubis are the type of duo that fight over everything non-stop, but they will be together through anything. She is the only one who speaks ill of him, he is the only one who push out all her bottons. It's not romantic or anything, it's just their dynamic at that point. She will totally lay on top of him in their animal forms out of pure disrespect. And yet, they are each other's emergency contact and are always there for each other.

• Osiris is the type of father who sends strange good morning messages with videos of flowers, always has a joke on the tip of his tongue and wears themed coats at family parties. Sadie adores him

• Seth affectionately called Anubis his son ONCE and the entire pantheon was in shock for years. Anubis was not there and he still don't believe it happened. Nephthys cried

• Alyssa adores Sadie, and began to see her with great admiration. She once tried to dye her hair the shade of pink she always wanted, but it didn't turn out very well.. Sadie helped her with that and they have had matching highlights in their hair ever since.

• Julian can AND WILL turn the mansion inside out. He's forbidden from being in charge but somehow always ends up taking charge of things when Carter and Sadie go out. Apparently things are even worse if he's not in charge.

• Anubis is like a gothic older brother and guide for the younger ones. They go to him for advice on everything from the simplest to the most personal. As a guiding and protective god, as well as a comforter of mourners, he always listens and does the impossible to help but then act like it's no big deal and disappear for a week

• keeping in this point, he has a habit of disappearing during conversations. If Anubis gets tired of the conversation, or the person, he simply turns his back and leaves. He has done this many times with Sadie and sometimes she almost hits him with a hairbrush. He has been irritating Shu with this habit for millennia.

literally why doesn't amos have any official viria art, or ruby, julius or any of the gods besides anubis and bast? the gods are major actors in tkc, they're like main and secondary characters, and we get six official portraits?? six???? even natalie chase, who famously spends all of mcga dead and barely appears in flashbacks got her portrait. side characters from toa, like all those dryads from the cistern got their portraits. which is good! good for them! but why is tkc scraping the bottom of the barrel again?

Zia Rashid appreciation post because she deserves it

Unlike the Kanes, Zia (in my opinion) is one of the most underrated characters in TKC (other than the Minor characters, I think the most underrated one is Julian because how much content has that guy gotten, Answer: Little to none, but this Ain't about him) anyways, She's gone through the "orphan" route having not only lost her parents to Appophis, she has also Lost her foster father WHILE SHE WAS IN A MAGIC COMA HE PUT HER IN, has casted Numerous Energy wasting spells (example: that one time she was basically eaten in The Serpents Shadow but Bursted her way out) and had to figure out romance without anyone to guide her, remember, she was alone for most of her life as well. And she was also one of the first Arabic People that Rick Riordan ever wrote, so that in itself is amazing (I'm happy about that because im actually an Arabic person) so the rep she carries is a lot.

So Zia Rashid deserves more recognition. and is mostly the best character (in my opinion) Argue with the wall.

1. Favorite PJO/HOO ship?

Hm, overall I'd say it's Valdangelo. It's not due to any of their interactions, but strictly because of the character parallels. I don't even think I want it to be canon (Though I WOULD have liked to see a friendship), I just want more people to truly appreciate the dynamic they could have had. They are such different, yet disturbingly alike, characters.

But if we are talking strictly canon, I'd say Percabeth, Fierrochase and Carzia tie. I just think the ships that are the main focus of multiple books end up having better chemistry overall.

43. Demigod with the most awesome name/nickname?

Name, I'd say Leo. I saw a great post on here once pointing out that Leo was raised to be a sacrificial lamb by the gods (More specifically Hera) pretty much from the moment he was born with Hera singling him out as the hero of the prophecy and thus, the one to die. Leo means Lion. A lamb and a lion. Two animals people consider polar opposites and often refer to them as such, especially in a religious context. Leo's name is almost contradictory. It's Ironic, in a sense. And I just find that neat. (And also I am not immune to favorite character bias)

As for nicknames, I just like anything that's endearing to the characters. They can be teasing each other but when a name show's a clear connection between two characters, I quite enjoy it. Seaweed Brain, Wise-girl, Blond Superman, Beauty Queen- The list goes on.

47. Most “wtf” moment in Blood of Olympus?

Oh there are so many-

Wtf as in an absurd, maybe even funny moment, I'm going with this one:

"Annabeth, you know Morse code?"

"Of course."

"So does Leo," Piper handed her the mirror, "He'll be watching from the ship. God to the ridge-"

"And flash him!" Annabeth's face reddened, "That came out wrong. But yeah, good idea."

Idk man it had me cracking up.

Wtf as in, why was that decision made, has too many to count in my personal opinion but a lot of them are due to setups from previous books so I'm not going into them here. Blood of Olympus being the final book in the hoo series unfortunately bears the sin of being the culmination of a lot of very strange and questionable story decisions and thus falls a bit more flat than the others.

49. Favorite minor character?

I suppose that depends on what you define as a "minor" character, but for someone that had a big role in one book and none other, I'm going with Lavinia. She's just fun and I enjoy how blatant she was about her queerness and (and to a lesser extent, her Judaism) even though I'm disappointed that we never got to see Poison-Oak in person.

For a more minor role than that, Felix and Leonid from The Kane Cornicles were a delight every time they showed up.
